Self Registration API

Hi, I am trying to add a new user using APIs. Can anyone at Oracle or other users tell me where I can get the documentation for the WWSSO_API_USER_ADMIN API? Thanks.
Can I view it via SQLPlus?

Have you looked at the PL/SQL APIs? There may be something in there you can use to create/register a user.

Approving Self-Registration request using API

Hi all
As an end user I have created a self registration request using using the method, createRegistrationRequest from utility factory.
Now as an approver , i wanted to approve the request. I have updated the Organization name using updateRegistrationUserDetails method in tcRequestOperationsIntf by passing

Creating self registration request using OIM API

When we try to create a self regisrtation request using OIM API , we ge the following exception:

How do we create a self registration request , using OIM API , with and without challenge questions?

Well try this piece of code. This might be similar to yours but it worked perfectly for me. For you the error might be the attribute names which you are passing, it should be the one dfined in the FormMetaData xml as below.

- During self-registration from web console, it will show you Challenge Questions section on the right. If you do not select any questions, it will thow you an error there itself.
- Doing it from API will create no difference(even if you pass a blank HashTable). The request will be created successfully and on completion when the user tries to login, it will ask for Security QnA.
2) Property Does user have to provide challenge information during registration set to FALSE
- During self-registration from web console, it doesn't show you Challenge Questions section on the right. The request will be created successfully and on completion when the user tries to login, it will ask for Security QnA.

Self Registration Error

Hi All
I am getting an error in the Self Registration using OIM 11.1.1.3. and heere is the exception . Any idea what wernt wrong . it seems that oiminternal does not have access to create the request but I checked the oiminternal user roles and he has all the following roles. Did I miss anything here ?

How are you doing self registration? It seems that you are trying to do self registration via some code and you are authenticated when you are trying to. Self registration is for anonymous registration and not authenticated users. Authenticate users are already registered and there is no point in they doing a self registration for themselves.

User self-registration in the portal

I am developing an Intranet site for a very large organization using OPortal 3.0. Since is impossible to manage personally every request to add users to the portal (over 3000 potential users) I need to provide a self-registration procedure so users can register themselves to the portal with certain basic privileges.
Does anybody knows how can I implement such a procedure..?

Self Registration Approval Details Error

I am trying to raise a self registration request. The Self Registration Request is raised but remains in Request Received status. This is the standard SR and should go to xelsysadm account for approval.

ume.admin.selfreg_company is set to TRUE
You have defined companies
ume.tpd.companies is set to a value other than 0.
The action UME Selfregister_User is assigned to the role Everyone.

Portal authentication failing intermittently post self registration

We are in the process of upgrading from EP6 to EP7 and have hit a critical authentication problem that is proving difficult to diagnose and resolve.
Our self registration process leads straight into user logon:
1) the user fills in the registration form with their user ID, password etc and selects Submit which creates the user ID in our R/3 user store
2) the user is presented with text informing them that their registration has been successful and a Proceed button which when selected authenticates them with the portal with their newly created user ID
Step 2) above is working intermittently in our EP7 system - sometimes the process works exactly as expected others an exception is raised (com.sap.security.core.logon.imp.UMELoginException: USER_AUTH_FAILED).
It seems as though the cause is that the user creation process has not completed fully before the logon step.
We tried implementing a wait step (10 seconds) following selection of the Proceed button which reduced the incidence rate of the problem but didn't cure it entirely.
A possible contributing factor is hardware performance as we are testing the upgrade on an impact analysis system which is not as efficient as our live portal landscape.
I've pasted the code which performs the authentication and extracts from the DIAGTOOL portal logs below which show the login module configuration (SAP standard I believe).
Any help/advice what to try next would be greatly appreciated as we are running out of ideas.

Fixing selfreg.cmd on NT (user self registration)

Ok, still trying to get the fully authorised method of getting self registration to work on Win NT/2000.
I've got my portal30_sso_ua schema set up. I've run in ssoumgt.pks/pkb and therefore I can also see wwsso_ls_private and granted everything as appropriate .
I've tried to hack the selfreg.cmd file, but it still bombs out.
Has anyone got this working yet on NT? If so, please could they send their hacked scripts (inc. supporting files) so that I can get this working.

Self registration customize pages

Hi
I am working on 9.1 version. I am able to show all the custom fields in single page if updated the FormMetaData.xml file. But, I want to navigate to different pages, depending upon the field value selected in current page.
For example, if User Type is selected as End-User, then it should navigate to new page to fill the end-user details. Similarly, if User Type is End-User Administrator then it should navigate to another page to fill end-user administration details.
Please anyone help me in solving this requirement.

Customize Self Registration Portlet/Form?

I have succesfully added the Self Registration portlet to our site, but would like to customize the fields that the portlet uses, make some required, etc....

You have not mentioned the Portal version!!
Refer following for respective Portal version. For customizing the fileds, you may have to create your own custom self registration form for this. You have to use the DBMS_LDAP APIs to get the information updated in OID.

2.In Global Settings ,Under Self-Registration Options section, select Enable Users To Log On Immediately if you want users to be able to log on to Oracle9iAS Portal immediately after they create their own user account using the self-registration feature.
3.customize the Login portlet to include a self-registration link.

From these logs, it seems that the user "weblogic_idm" either has an incorrect password set or does not have permission. I am still trying to work it out....any input would be much appreciated.

Steps mentioned in the meta link note were already taken care but the issue still exists.
Once we've added our custom page functions to the UMX_REG_UI_PERMS permission set in order to grant access to GUEST and GLOBAL users,the login issue was gone.
But when the go button in first page is clicked,it is again asking for credentials.
Do we need to do take care of any other setups/grants for this?

while I have already enabled self registration from Global settings, but still I'm unable to make users to register theirself because always initial SSO Login Page is Displayed. I think there must be additional steps.
OR
Is there any alternative way, PLSQL API's,Java Portlets or other scripts for user registration.

Creating/Pushing Users in OIM through customized self registration page

Hello there,
I was envisioning to push users into OIM (create users in oim database) by means of self made registration pages (JSP). I know that the user profiles are created in UPA_USR table in OIM db. Can we directly create users in the same from different source other than standard OIM self registration page?
I tried to do it by pushing the users in a different db table and then reconciling the user profiles from it. That worked!
Does anybody have any clues about the former issue?

Have you looked through the APIs?
I have never seen anything that would let you do this but on the other hand I have never looked for it.
You always have the option to push things straight into the back end tables but it is often hard to ensure that you didn't miss something and you don't have any guarantee that future upgrades or patches won't break things.
