SEM going live activities

Hi SEM folks,
I would like to have your 2cents on what activites are necessary for going live phase & just prior to that for SEM. Eg. aspects to check. Any tedious activities requiring more SEM / BW support personnel. CPM / BSC / BPS / BCS aspects?
I know the question is a bit too general but I am not sure what tasks need to be performed for SEM just prior to and going live. Would clients need to engage additional SEM consultants at this point? Any system health check required on BW?
rgds,
Bryan

Bryan,
Check out the SEM performance guide on SDN or service.sap.com - I think it was under BPS knowhow.
Marc Bernard also did an excellent presentation at BW and Portal conference on Performance and you can find it at on SDN on
https://www.sdn.sap.com/sdn/events.sdn?page=bwnp_2005_catalog.htm
"Performance Tuning Tools and Techniques for SAP BW Business Planning and Simulation (BW-BPS)"
Some good transactions to know at BPS_stat0, BPS_stat1, STAD, etc.
Also check OSS notes since there is a performance benchmark test you can do and it was outlined in an OSS note.
Hope this helps,
Mary

  • Going live check service

    hello all!
who knows the procedure of  receiving "going live check session service" or something about the 'going live check '
Can anyone help me,or where i can find the document about it!
    best regards.
    zokii

SAP Going Live Analysis session is performed before start of major upgrade activities/migration etc. This pre session is performed before your task giving source system information and target system information and SAP runs the session based on that.
SAP Post GoLive analysis check is performed after your change and target system creation. Post session is to find out optimum settings for your system in terms of performance and other parameters or if you missed any specific settings etc.
You can request for both pre and post sessions via opening of message via SAP marketplace. They will send you a questionnaire to fill out with your system details. Once you send that sap will mark a date for the session in your system. You have to open remote connection/HTTP URL / WTS as required with login details to your system.

    Sandeep.

  • Open Process Orders take-over when going-live

    Hello PP People
Does anyone have any experience/recommendation about the transition/take-over of open process orders from a legacy system to SAP when going live ?
These process orders are started in the legacy system and should arrive in a partially confirmed (hours/consumptions) status in the SAP system at go-live. How is this generally tackled from a CO point of view ?
Any hints on this could be helpfull
    Thanks and best regards

    Hi,
The method adopted depends on the business requirements. There are quite many options which can be adopted. So first thing i would say is get a clear business requirement what business expects from this migration.
Some of the options could be
    1. Close all orders in the legacy system & create new orders in the SAP system & post back the confirmations, post goods movement as per the legacy system.
    2. Create a material per order carrying the cost (WIP value) as per the legacy system, assign this component in the component list & post this mateiral to the order, thereby the WIP vlaue will be acrrued to the order.
    3. Ask your FI-CO personnel to post the WIP value to the order from FI side.
There could be many more approaches, the choice depends purely on business needs. Hope the above gave you some guideline.
    Regards,
    Vivek

  • When iCloud goes live, I want to use my @me account as my main account.  Possible?

I have bought several hundred dollars worth of music, TV, movie, and game apps on my @gmail.com iTunes account.  When iCloud goes live, I would like to start a @me email account that I will use with all apple products.  How do I get all of my apps, games, music, TV, etc from my @gmail account name to my @me account name?  Is there a way to transfer purchases?
    Thanks for the help!

No way to transfer purchases from one iTunes account to another.
All 3rd party apps - all paid and free apps include DRM protection which is tied to the iTunes account that was used to download the apps. This cannot be transferred from one account to another.

  • Can I send a preview of an iWeb website to a PC user prior to going live?

I have a completed site in iWeb that needs to be previewed by another member of my group prior to publishing the site live. He is a PC user. Is there a way to show him a preview of the site prior to uploading it to ftp and going live?
    thanks!

Thank you...I did see that when I searched the board, but wasn't sure if that would work for a simple PC user (LOL) ...thanks!

  • Data conversion for New GL - Going live during fiscal year

    Hi Experts,
My client is going live on Oct 1 (fiscal year in Jan -Dec). So for data conversion we need to load P&L and BalanceSheet as of Sept 30, 2009.  I need your help to resolve few open issues. (we have activated Doc Splitting with Zero Balance and Segment )
    1) When we load P&L balances - how can I assign Profit Centers to all these P&L iitems .
    2) What is the procedure (best practices) to assign Profit Centers to all the Balance Sheet items since we are going live during Fiscal Year
    3) When we process open items  (AR, AP) in month of October how the Profit Center assignment will work?
(My client will be using Profit /Cost center terminology first time, so we need to map all the B&S and PnL items to Profit centers)
    4) What is the best way to map all the Balance Sheet GL accounts to Profit Centers.
Sorry for asking too many questions. Any help would me very much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Sam

    1) When we load P&L balances - how can I assign Profit Centers to all these P&L iitems .
Each P&L account balance has to be upload with cost centre, then automatically PC will be triggered.
    2) What is the procedure (best practices) to assign Profit Centers to all the Balance Sheet items since we are going live during Fiscal Year
Let client decide the profit centre for balance sheet items, since they knows which balance relates to which pc
    3) When we process open items (AR, AP) in month of October how the Profit Center assignment will work?
While uploading AR,AP balances, each line item to be uploaded with profit centre, automatically in october PC assignment will work.
(My client will be using Profit /Cost center terminology first time, so we need to map all the B&S and PnL items to Profit centers)
    4) What is the best way to map all the Balance Sheet GL accounts to Profit Centers
Try to identify each balance sheet gl balance to each profit centre, this will help in future reports. otherwise put in common pc

  • Going live check for SAP upgrade projects

    Hello,
I am interested in "going live check" service and procedures for my upgrade projects. May I find any documentation? Do I have to pay for it?..
Thanking you in advance and a happy new years!
    Kind regards
    Nilüfer Çalışkan

    Hi Nilufer,
The following Input as follows :
    Source : http://www.thespot4sap.com/upgrade_guide_v2.pdf
This service is included as part of your annual maintenance fee.
The underlying concept of the SAP GoingLive Functional Upgrade Check is
to ensure smooth operation of your mySAP.com solution by taking action
proactively, before severe technical problems occur.
The GoingLive Functional Upgrade Check is made up of three sessions
(Planning, Analysis and Verification)—two sessions (Planning and Analysis)
before the upgrade and the other (Verification) after the upgrade.
Planning Session: This session should be performed as much in advance as
possible when the upgrade is first being considered.
Analyses compatibility for the target release with regards to connected
systems in the Solution Landscape, OS version, DB version, installed Add-
Ons, Plug-ins, Country Versions, and so on.
Analysis Session: It is generally performed two months before the
production upgrade (consider lead time for hardware procurement).
The focus is on resource planning and system configuration.
There is a high-level hardware plausibility check (this is not a hardware
    sizing exercise).
      Potential resource bottlenecks are identified.
Necessary changes will be recommended to prepare the system for the
productive use of the new release.
38 SAP Upgrade Guide | Simplifying Your Upgrade
Verification Session: Generally performed four to six weeks after the
production upgrade, and the recommendation from the analysis session
    implemented.
Comparison of performance with results prior to upgrade
      Recommendations on configuration and optimization
More information and ordering . For more information, see the GoingLive
Functional Upgrade Check web page at:
    <b>http://service.sap.com/goinglive-fu</b>
To order a GoingLive Functional Upgrade Check, contact SAP Customer Care
Center at least eight weeks prior to the planned upgrade of your production
    system.
For customers of value-added resellers (VARs) such as CBS customers in the
US, special conditions apply. Contact your VAR.
    Remote Upgrade Service
Remote Upgrade Service is a technical upgrade that is performed by SAP
remote consultants. Pricing is based on the complexity of the customer’s
    environment.
SAP performs the technical upgrade of your system, allowing you to focus on
the functional and training side of the upgrade. You are still responsible for
    resolving object conflicts.
See SAP Notes 106447 and 84044.
The Remote Upgrade Service is an attractive option for CBS sized customers
with small or non-existent mySAP Technology group.
For more information see the Remote Upgrade Service web page at:

  • How to distribute App Store Link before going live?

I'm new to the Itunes Connect process, and am wondering how to distribute my App Store Link before going live.  My App is approved and is scheduled to launch on the App Store on September 15th.  I'm about to send correspondance out to the various online review sites, but am missing this one important link that I need to supply to them.
Itunes Connect is currently Down for Scheduled Maintenance.  Do I find the link there?  I do have my App ID and SKU.  Can I extrapolate the link based on these?
    Any insight would be appreciated!

    >Can I extrapolate the link based on these?
Not that I'm aware of, no.
Find the app's store id number in iTunes Connect, then use http://itunes.apple.com/linkmaker/ - this site will generate a link with a button based which book, app, song, podcast etc. you search for in the store.

  • Going Live and Editing

    HI
I have a business catalyst website: charteraplane01.businesscatalyst.com   and now I will be going live charteraplane.com.au on the Adobe servers using the credit from the subscription.
Although my website is all good to go but my question is:
Once I go live and want to make changes ( adding or deleting things ) can I do that in MUSE and then syncronise this with the live website. I think it can be done but I am not sure. I do not get into a situation where I can not
    Any help is welcome

Business catalyst is a hosting platform, which allows to host your file. So when you click publish first time in Muse and publish your site to Business catalyst, it will create two url for you,
    mysite.businesscatalyst.com (System Domain)
    mysite.worldsecuresystems.com (Secure Domain)
Once your site is published, you add a domain to the site, like mysite.com (custom domain)
Now all these three url are pointing to the same site, which is hosted by business catalyst. So when you click publish in Muse, Muse will show you the list of website on business catalyst under your account. check this screenshot
So when you select the site, it is going to your site. which can be accessed using all the domains (system, secure or Custom domain as defined above). But as you have custom domain, system domain is not used anywhere.
Do let me know if you have any question.

  • BT Account goes live tomorrow - no router yet

    Hi all,
My account with BT is set to be active from tomorrow, but I am still awaiting delivery of my router - I wondered if there was a way of getting my ADSL log-in details beforehand so that I could log into my BT connection with my existing hardware?
If my account goes live tomorrow, does this mean that my current provider will stop at the same time and I'll be left without a broadband connection until the router arrives?
Sorry if these are simple questions; I've never had to switch a provider other than when moving homes before...
    Thanks,
    TFT
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi TwoFingerTyper,
The router is normally delivered on the same day as your broadband is activated so hopefully it will be with you before it switches over.
If you are using your own equipment the username is [email protected] where 'your' equals your first name and 'name' equals your surname, for example [email protected] BT Broadband does not require that you enter a password to connect, but some routers won't connect to the Internet without a password. If this is the case, enter the word BT.
    Cheers

  • Can I test a new version of my website on Business catalyst before it goes live? I am a Creative Cloud user.

Can I test a new version of my website on Business catalyst before it goes live? I don't want to replace the current version until I am sure it works properly.

    Hi bgeorge,
You have the option at any time to publish your project to a new trial site. Make sure to select in the publishing pop-up the Options button, and from "Publish to:" field scroll to the top where you have "New Site". Whenever you want to publish to your existing site, follow the same steps and click on the site you want to publish to.
Currently the publish process is down due to a scheduled maintenance on Business Catalyst so you won't be able to do it right now. Check the status page later to see when it is completed: http://status.businesscatalyst.com

  • Would pre n routers be returnable when n actually goes live?

    i was thinking about buying a http://linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?c=L_Product_C2&childpagename=US%2FLayout&cid=1166859632665&pagename=Linksys%2FCommon%2FVisitorWrapper
and i was wondering if we would be able to return it when the n standard goes live in the event that the final n standard requires a hardware change (will need new router and card)so we could get the real n devices when it becomes time? or would we be risking not being able to goto the final N standard if the hardware is indeed changed?

As far as I know, the final N standard has not been set.  For this reason, manufacturers cannot promise that pre-N systems will be upgradeable (by software) to the N standard.
I have not heard of anyone promising to upgrade pre-N hardware, to N standard hardware.
If and when manufacturers decide that they can promise users that their devices will meet the N standard, you can be certain that they will advertise this in large bold print!  So keep your eyes on the ads.
