Send form contents to asp

I am totally stuck. I have three form components, name,
email, comments that I want to send to an embedded email address
when someone clicks the submit button. My site is hosted on an .asp
server that uses the AspMail component. I assume I have to extract
the form components using action script and then send it to an asp
page on my server which then sends it to the mail application on
the server. But I have no idea how to do this. Please
help!!!

I'm slowly getting the hang of this. So, I do have an asp
processing page and I want to send several form field contents,
some user definable, some hidden, to the process page. Here's what
my code looks like so far:
on (release) {
formData = new LoadVars();
//set your variables in your LoadVars Instance
formData.user = Name.text; //or whatever your form component
is
//create LoadVars instance to receive reply
replyData = new LoadVars();
replyData.onLoad = myReplyFunction;
//submit the data
formData.sendAndLoad("
http://www.mysite.com/process.asp",
replyData, "POST");
The visible form fields I have are Name, Email, Comments and
the hidden fields are _recipients, _subject, _replyToField. How do
I format the code properly to send all this data to my asp page?
Thanks again for your help!!!

  • Second mail service configuration or others transport protocols to send form content

    Hi
    we actually use the mail service for several forms. We have now a new requirement, where we need to use a different target for one specific reporting form.
    Questions are:
    Is it possible to configure a second mail service (other mailhost)?
    Is it possible to integrate others transport protocols to send the content (SOAP/REST Webservice calls, JMS Queue Producer, externe HTTP/POST calls)?
    Do you have another suggestion?
    Thank you
    Best regards
    Stéphane

    Hi Stéphane,
      *  AFAIK not possible with OOB to configure 2 mail servers & need to implement at project level. You might need to create a custom email service. Example  http://helpx.adobe.com/adobe-cq/using/creating-custom-cq-email-services.html
      *  One of the option to make external calls is to utilize WorkflowExternalProcess http://dev.day.com/docs/en/cq/current/javadoc/com/day/cq/workflow/exec/WorkflowExternalPro cess.html
    Thanks,
    Sham

  • Can't send Form content as PDF

    Hello there!
    I'm just starting with LiveCycle Designer (and LC as a whole) and am feeling really lost with the lack of information for absolute beginners.
    Right now I'm trying to build a form to be distributed among clients and then sent back with filled in information.
    I create the form in Designer, set the delivery format as PDF, save as PDF, open in Acrobat to extend user rights.... but when I test the form, .... I get the info as XML.
    I tried it over and over and always got the same results. I´m getting reeeeealy frustrated.
    Please, please, help!
    Thank you very much for any ideas.
    Marcos

    Hi Srini,
    Thank you very much for your reply.
    Well, in a way, yes, I have done that but in a differente way (please see picture), but... I cannot find this submit tab though.
    I've tried to get it back by refreshing the tabs positions but it did not work.
    Thank you!

    Whould it also be possible to send the sender the submited data (looking like the filled in form or so)?
    not really nessecary but whould be a nice  jextra
    You can but you would need to send it as an html email which is much more complicated.
    What you would do is build a page/table construction like below. You would need to use the php variables to echo out the information in the <td></td> cells (example below).
    $reply = $_POST['email'];
    $from = '[email protected]';
    $replysubject = "Auto-Reply: Website Name";
    $headers  = 'MIME-Version: 1.0' . "\r\n";
    $headers .= 'Content-type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1' . "\r\n";
    $headers .= "From: $from\r\nReply-to: $reply";
    $replymessage = '

  • Send form data from Coldfusion to ASP

    I need to send form data from CF to ASP.
    I submit a CF page and validate it on my end with another CF
    page, which then needs to post the results to an asp page on
    another site. The post has to be sent via SSL and I don't need to
    and cannot receive any status message back from the remote ASP
    site. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I was thinking
    some type of cfhttp, but I am not very familiar with its usage.
    Thanks!

    It doesn't matter what type of page you are sending to as
    long as it can handle the data that is sent. Either a form or
    cfhttp will work.

  • Best way to prevent automated/spam form filling? ASP/VB

    Hi,
    I wanted to ask what your advice would be with regard the
    best way of
    preventing the automated submission of forms on a web site?
    We have tried using form validation, but it seems that the
    spammers have
    already sussed this and are submitting valid data, albeit it
    is usually
    something along the lines of:
    Name: wuehtasdgadfl
    Title: ahadlf
    Address: audhliuhwerlj
    City: akjsdhiehrlj
    Email: [email protected]
    What is the best way to stop this happening? Or at least
    reduce it!
    Much appreciated.
    Regards
    Nath.

    > When you say "Test the form content server side..." is
    that what the built
    > in Dreamweaver behaviour (validate form) does?
    No. That's client-side validation using javascript. It's
    vulnerable in
    that disabling js in the browser will still allow you to
    submit the form,
    but will not do any validation. The automated bots that spam
    your forms
    don't do the validation when it's client side.
    By server-side validation, I mean to submit the form to an
    ASP, PHP, CF,
    CGI, etc., script that actually examines the contents of each
    field and
    decides whether to send the email.
    > With the sum field, do you mean that you'd ask the user
    to enter a number?
    Yes. See how I have done it here -
    http://great-web-sights.com/g_contactus.asp
    > If so, what happens when the spammers suss that out and
    start submitting
    > the correct number?
    If the 'spammer' is a human reading the instructions and
    submitting the
    form, you can't do anything about it. I think that's not the
    case with
    these things though.

    Pls let me know how will I do Sender File content conversion (to make it in XML) form.

    Hi Rachit,
                  In that case you can use temporary source structure to hold contents from the source flat file and using FCC you split the content by 'nl' and store it in one node (For rg:-<SDATA>) then using mapping you can map that to original source structure and then to target structure, here you need to use intermediate mapping (i.e two mappings) to archive the target structure.
    Temp source structure
    <SDATA>GB283032086 LANGFORD LODGE ENGINEERING </SDATA>
    <SDATA> GB762702827 AIRBUS UK LIMITED </SDATA>
    <SDATA>D58785 20030407 71.82 </SDATA>
    <SDATA>D58786 20030407 49.10  </SDATA>
    <SDATA>D58787 20030407 49.10  </SDATA>
    Map the above to the actual source structure and the to target, hope it helps you to overcome your problem

  • Destination for Forms contents

    I am making a form for a website that will allow the user to send his/her email and comments to a nightclub managment so they can in turn send out information on parties to all who submit theyre emails. I was practicing the technique in a practice file. I was able to create the text fields as well as the submit button. My only issue and question is how do i set up the submit button properly so when the button is pressed the information is sent to a specific email address.
    Ill include the code and css.
    html:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />
    <title>Untitled Document</title>
    <link href="practicemaster.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
    </head>
    <body>
    <div id="container">
      <form action="[email protected]" enctype="text/plain" name="mailingList" id="mailingList">
        Enter your email to join our mailing list:
        <label>
        <input type="text" name="textfield" id="textfield" />
        </label>
        <p> </p>
        <p>Let us know what you think about our club:</p>
        <p>
          <label>
          <textarea name="textarea" id="textarea" cols="45" rows="5"></textarea>
          </label>
        </p>
        <p>
          <input name="button" type="submit" id="button" value="Submit" />
        </p>
      </form>
    </div>
    </body>
    </html>
    CSS:
    @charset "UTF-8";
    body/* CSS Document */
        font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
        color: #000000;
        font-size: 10pt;
        background-color: #000000;
    #container {
        height: 600px;
        width: 800px;
        margin-right: auto;
        margin-left: auto;
        background-color: #FFFFFF;
        position: relative;

    The form's action needs to point to a server side script that processes the form contents. For starters check with your host to see if they have a script that will work with your hosting plan. And please search this forum for 'form mail' for more details.

  • How to send task content as email?

    Hi all,
    I have task list, need to send task content as email to a person like:
    How to achieve this?

    Hello,
    create a workflow with SharePoint Designer that sends an email when an item is created.
    Or edit the list form with InfoPath and create a special email view. Include all the fields you want to send in the email. Then create a data connection to submit to email and configure who it is sent to and what the subject line is based on the form values.
    Use a button to submit the form and add a rule to submit the form data, then switch to the email view, submit to the email connection and then close the form.
    This way, the recipient will see the exact form you defined in InfoPath  in the email view.
    cheers, teylyn

  • Posted Form contents Problem

    I had this problem with 4.5.1 SP 5 and WebLogic told me it would be
    fixed in 5.1 SP 1 (I believe the issue number was 10214). I've just
    tried my simple test case again with 5.1 SP 3 on NT and it still fails.
    The problem is when text is posted from an HTML form to a servlet in
    WebLogic, WebLogic assumes the posted data is ALWAYS encoded in
    ISO-8859_1. So if your form posts Shift-JIS, WLS still incorrectly
    converts the text to unicode using the ISO8859 code page. The only
    work arround I can find is to take the bad JAVA unicode strings, get the
    bytes with the ISO8859 code page, and then create a new string using
    those bytes and the Shift-JIS code page. This is what the
    fixStringEncoding() method is doing below. This is unacceptable.
    How does the WebLogic server understand how to convert between IANA
    encodings and JAVA encodings when receiving a response? A browser will
    encode the form contents with the same encoding as the HTML page with
    the form is in. How does WLS know when it recieves the response to use
    SJIS (Java encoding) to convert Shift-JIS (IANA) encoded text to
    unicode? My test JSP page is included below. It's form that accepts
    Japanese text and posts it back to itself for display. If I don't "fix"
    the JAVA strings, the Japanese text comes out as garbage. BTW, I have
    verified that I'm using SP 3 correctly. Thanks.

    The jsp directive does nothing to help the INPUT data handling. On the other hand, this is a html spec problem, not a weblogic one. RFC2070 has some recommendation on how to do i18n with HTML/HTTP, but neither Netscape nor IE supports it.

    Hi,
    The ideal approach is to employ the JSP directive for encoding.
    This is documented in the JSP spec. Also, if all your JSPs
    require the same encoding, there is an argument to our JSP
    servlet, to tell it what default charset encoding to use.

  • Generate or import xml form content into portal

    Hi, we have a content repository type "fsdb" in wich we have created a xml form to publish content.
    Now we need to develope a program or process that read information from a database and generate the xml content in the repository,
    How can we generate the xml form content?
    I have tried coping and existing element of the repository from the file system and changing the data but something more is needed, I think that is necesary to update the database.
    Any suggestion is welcomed.
    Thanks in advanced.
    Regards.

    Hi,
    I differred my theme, cause I also had to use and transport the xml-forms into another portal. For this reason I have to use xml-forms. I've found out how to modify the the content/text of an subscription-mail.
    Is there any way to define different layouts for subscription-mails? (Maybe depending on the folder.)
    Is there any way to send an e-Mail to a specified address (including the content) when saving the xml-form?

  • Function module to read Mail Form contents with Usage Type SMS

    Hello there,
    I have created a Mail Form with Usage Type as Internet Mail (HTML). I can successfully read the Mail Form by using Function Module CRM_ERMS_MAIL_COMPOSE_NEW. This is working fine to send an email.
    I have created another Mail Form with  Usage Type as SMS. Since the usage type is a plain text, function module CRM_ERMS_MAIL_COMPOSE_NEW does not return the mail form contents. The requirement is to send the SMS with mail form contents. Appreciate if you can suggest a Function module or Class - Method to retrieve Mail form contents when usage type is SMS.
    Thanks,

  • Send attachment via ADDT Send Form function

    Not sure if this is possible...
    I have an update record form used as a contact form using ADDT.
    It has a couple of fields that are files, and is using ADDT to upload them to the server.
    I'm also using ADDT to send emails of the form contents to the site owner.
    Should I be able to send those files as attachments in that email?
    From looking at it, it doesn't seem to let me choose a form field's contents as an attachment, but I might be missing something.
    If it is possible, then if anyone could advise me where I'm going wrong, that would be much appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Even if ADDT would let you choose the file field´s contents for this purpose, it´s of course pretty problematic, because this information (the name of the to-be-uploaded file) alone does not represent the physical location of that file on your server *after* it´s been uploaded -- and it´s the complete file path which ADDT would expect, and which is not determined by the contents of the file field.
    Cheers,
    Günter
