Sending emails just stopped

I have recently not been able to send emails on my IPad 2 but with the same account can still send on my PC
Lineone say this is an Apple problem and Apple (went to the Genius Bar last night ) say responsibility lies with Lineone.
Have checked all the settings and they are the same. Help!

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

cant send email from mac, just stopped overnight

I'm have the same problem. I just recently switched over from Time Warner cable as my internet provider to AT&T DSL. I have several macs and they are all set up now to use the AT&T DSL Modem. My laptop can send and receive email just fine, however, ever since I made the switch from Time Warner to AT&T my desktop can't. It can receive emails, but when ever I try to send them, I'm having the same problem where they just hang in the outbox.
Were any of you able to resolve the problem?

  • TS1307 Why does send mail just stop working and how do you fix it?

Using MacBook Pro bought last Chrismas and its mail client 5.2
In the last 2 weeks send mail has stopped working for both my wife and myself (we have different logins / accounts / email address providers)
We have tried different wifi / isp providers
    rebuilding the mail database
accessing preferences and changing the default ports to specified port 25 and then back again
taking the mail accounts off-line and then back on again
deleting the accounts and then creating just one simple one (GMail)
no change - send mail still does not go.
    What should we do now?
What have we done wrong to cause this to fail in the first place?
It was working fine, but now it is not.
It is quite worryingand a fix would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks in advance

    Hmmm, here's the opposite problem/fix...
    Gmail send but not receive...
Here are two steps that have come in handy in related situations
    1) login to gmail on your computer or device via a web browser
    2) once logged in successfully, go to this URL to unlock:
    https://www.google.com/accounts/DisplayUnlockCaptch
Is your gMail POP or IMAP?
    If IMAP...
Is the Outgoing server smtp.gmail.com, port 25, SSL on, & Authentication = Password

  • Cannot send email just get a 'relaying' error messgae

    Hi
Apologies if this has already been asked:-
i have an iphone 4 and have upgraded to the latest version of ios.  But since then I cannot send emails from either my aol or hotmail account. I just get this error message:-
A copy has been placed in your Outbox. The recipient "*****@aol.com" was rejected by the server because it does not allow relaying.
Any ideas?  Everything was fine before hand.  I have tried deleting then reinstating my eamsil accounts both with wifi on and off and still no difference.
Please help its driving me MENTAL!!!!!!

re: not understanding instructions, it sounds like you have not enabled the Menu Bar.
In Thunderbird you will find life much easier when seeing all the toolbars.
Click on the menu icon - it has 3 bars.
Hover the mouse pointer over 'Options'
a new drop down appears, select 'Menu Bar'.
then you will see the Menu Bar above the tabs
It shows: 'File, Edit, View, Go, Message, Tools, Help.'
re: The mail server responded: 5.7.1 Missing or literal domains not allowed. Please verify that your email address is correct in your Mail preferences and try again.

you will only have the one verizon smtp
I looked at the information you provided in the other question.
Server name, port, authentication and connection security look ok.
What do you have in the 'User Name' ?
Do you have the full email address or just the first part before the @ ?
The other thing to check is the firewall settings in the Actiontec Router.
But this is not really a forum for dealing with your router.
you should find the model number somewhere on your Actiontec router.
There are different models, but sometimes the settings can be very similar.
you should be able to do a google search for your model.
I located this pdf for the GT701D model: see chapter 5.

  • Wi-fi, internet is fine, sending email is fine; receiving email not working

The wi-fi connection and all internet apps appear to be working just fine on my iPod Touch, except that I cannot receive any email through the POP connection I've set up. I can send email just fine. I've triple-checked the settings and they're correct. All was working fine until suddenly a few weeks ago, it just stopped receiving email. Any ideas why this would be and how to fix it??

That error message is coming from the mail server.

  • Cannot send email from iPhone5--calendar syncing issues also

I have an iPhone 5 and am not currently using iCloud.  I have 3 email accounts.
The first is a yahoo email account--and it both receives & sends emails just fine.
I use Outlook for the other two email accounts (one is an IMAP and the other is a POP).  Both receive email, but I cannot send out emails from my iPhone.  When I try to send an email from either account, I get this message:
"A copy has been placed in your Outbox.  The sender address "[address I used]" was rejected by the server.
Also, I don't know if it is related, but my iPhone calendar isn't syncing with Outlook.  I add an appointment on my iPhone or in Outlook, and it won't appear in the other location (Outlook/iPhone).
    Thanks for your help.

Check your settings, maybe the mail index is at fault.

  • Old but new Q: Cannot send email from Mac Mail application but computer tells me I'm online

I know this is an "old" issue for many, but I cannot find the solution to my problem.
A couple of months ago I moved to a new flat--suddenly I could not send emails anymore from my Mac Mail app, although I could receive them. I called Comcast, my Internet provider, who said it was my email server's problem. My email server is icloud, so I talked to a Mac tech guy who did remote desktop troubleshooting and said everything was set up correctly, etc., so I will have to talk to Comcast again. I called Comcast again and they told me again, it is not their issue.
So this is what happens: When I try to send an email, I get the spinning circle in the mailbox bar, and then it tells me after five minutes of spinning that icloud is offline. However, when I do a further check of the diagnostics, the light is green and says that yes, in fact I am connected/online. Note: I can send and receive fine on webmail, but I do not want to keep using webmail at home. It is very inconvenient.
I called Mac support again, and they told me I should find my solution online; otherwise, I can pay $20 to have someone remotely troubleshoot for me. Of course, I could not find the answer online. I am quite frustrated and annoyed at this point. Is it a port issue? Is it an OS issue? Mind you, I only have this problem at home, nowhere else. I take my laptop to a café, to a friend's place--I can send emails just fine. This leads me to believe that it's a Comcast issue, although they deny it.
Any thoughts would be deeply, deeply appreciated! Thank you!!

How about some free much-needed advice on how I can
    start receiving emails again!
This indicates you were able to receive email with
your Verizon account previously with the Mail.app?
If so, try running Keychain First Aid on your login
    Keychain.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=151548
    Open Keychain Access, located in
    Applications/Utilities.
Choose Window > Keychain First Aid.
Select your login Keychain, enter your password,
    select Repair and then Start.
This is Trevor from the first post and I figured it out:
Go into mail - preferences - and delete the email account in question - the window will tell you that you'll lose all your saved mail, etc - you can save it if you like.
Then click on yes and you create a new mail account using your same incoming/outgoing settings. And, like magic, it works!
Try it - and if you want to save any mail before deleting your affected account, do it.
    All the best!

  • SSRS unable to send email subscription notification using SendGrid from a VM/AZURE

In SSRS (using a VM in AZURE) I configured eMail  to use SendGrid.

Is there any other SMTP that I can use in a AZURE VM that will send email just using a valid email (I can do that in my internal SMTP)?
Is there a way to provide the credentials?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi SendGrid,
According to your description, you want to use the SendGrid SMTP server for configuring email subscription. Now you have the problem on sending the credential to access the SendGrid SMTP server. Right?
In Reporting Services, when configuring subscription, we need to specify a Windows domain user to run the Reporting Services. Definitely this domain user credential can't access the SendGrid SMTP server. In this scenario, we need to install the Local
SMTP server and configure the SMTP virtual server. And we can put credential in Access Control. For detail steps, please refer to similar threads below:

Google SMTP server (smtp.gmail.com) when configuring subscriptions unders SSRS 2008

  • I am unable to send emails

We have a work email account set up on the iPad and receive emails just fine. We are unable to send emails. The settings for the account have been verified and should work. But when I go into settings and touch Mail, Contacts etc. scrolling down the first page on the "Default Account" it shows iCloud. The other company iPad shows this as the company email and can send emails just fine. How do I add the company account to this Default. My CEO is not happy about not being able to respond or send emails from this device.

There are two places that show Default Account. One is for mail sent from outside the mail app - meaning that if you email photos or a document from within one of the corresponding apps, that email will be send from the default account.
The second place that Default Account shows is for adding contacts outside of a specific account and you can direct where the contacts will be added.
So neither of those areas really apply to the mail app for sending emails.
I understand that your CEO may be upset, but just so that you know, nobody here works for Apple. We are just other users volunteering our time to help other users.

  • Sometimes I can send email, sometimes I can't...

So, I've got the latest version of OSX and Mac Mail. I've checked with my ISP and the port used is not blocked.
Sometimes, I can send email just fine. No problems.
Other times, when I send email I get this error: Cannot send using the server <insert my outgoing mail server here>
Oddly, if I close mail and then restart it - it will often send the emails.
I've checked with my hosting company and the email servers are fine and running. If I do the "connection doctor" from inside mac mail, I get all green - connecting fine.
    Any ideas?

If you refer to my posts of a today and a few days ago I've had the identical issue - I do not agree with the posting of the person that followed yours - It is something wrong somewhere - My ISP is Comcast and while they've been very helpful in working with me to solve it the problem persists - it seems to have gotten worse in recent weeks and maybe for the past month or so -
It seems to be in the incoming port - I often have an "offline" reading when I check the preferences - then for no reason it will come back on line and everything will be ok for a while - I have gone directly to the web mail of Comcast and it works perfectly - the port #'s assigned by Comcast are often not working properly and when I change to other ports it will work for a short time - all very mysterious -

  • Send email to workspace participants

    Hello,
Could you tell me if we have a way to send an email to all of workspace participants at one time ?
    Regards,
    Yuta

    Hi Jereen
Thank you for the reply. Let me confirm one thing here.
I assume that sending an email to group email id means all members in the group recieve the email.
    I'd like to send email just to workspace perticipants. For example;
    - Members in Group A
    User A
    User B
    User C
    - Participant of Workspace A (Default WS of Group A)
    User A and B
In this case above, if I send an email to Group A's mail id, I think User A,B and C get the eamil. I'd like to send the email just to User A and B.

    Yuta
