Sent Emails not being saved in Sent Messages Folder

I have been sending emails while logged into .Mac at work and I have not been receiving replies. When I send mail from my other accounts my friends tell me they never received mail from my .Mac acct. I even tried sending a blank one to myself and it was not showing up in the sent messages folder. How can I get all my messages to be saved in the send messages folder and not just some of them?
Thank You

  • Sent email not being saved :-?

I have often issues with using mail and google imap, but it's not usually mission critical stuff.
But I have one issue which is really really annoying me, sending a reply to one particular email: when I send, it's not saving my message anywhere, either in sent items, or on the server. It's as though it never existed - but I know it was sent, because I got an auto-reply. I've never experienced this before; everything else saves fine as far as I can tell.
When I type it again as best I can remember, and convert my reply to plain text, it saves it like it should; but when I don't, it doesn't. Anyone else experienced this bug? I can't see anything in the raw source which should stop it being saved. I think the message I'm replying to was created with Outlook.

Ok, so nobody is having this problem.  Any ideas on how to fix it?

  • Email not being saved to sent folders

Trying to check if I sent an email from my macbook yesterday. I am 90% sure I did. But it's not saved in my sent folders. Is there any other way of checking if it was sent?

Ok, so nobody is having this problem.  Any ideas on how to fix it?

  • Why are sent emails not stored in the Sent Items folder in iOS7

Why are sent emails not stored in the Sent Items folder?

    Thanks, Matt.
I'm now starting to notice the emails that don't come in order are all posted from sites that use multiple platforms to send the same message; email, Facebook, Twitter, etc. so maybe that has something to do with it. I'm thinking the hold up is possibly at their end.

  • Maildir and mac mail (sent mail not being saved)

Our IT moved a while ago from mbox to maildir and I was experiencing the same problems as everyone, my sent mail wasn't being saved. Read thread for background, http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=3622469&#3721196
    I tried the following:
    1. Click Mail
    2. Click Preferences
    3. Click the Accounts button at the top
    4. Click the Advanced tab
    5. In the IMAP Path Prefix box enter INBOX.
    6. Close the window, close Mail, reopen it and try again
Doing this was necessary but not sufficient. After reading the above thread I also tried selecting an appropriately titled mail folder (sent-messages) in my mail account, clicking MAILBOX in the header menu and selecting USE THIS MAILBOX for SENT. Well long story short, it finally worked!
This last step is what's being described in the Mail help topic, "Saving copies of email you send."
For some reason I didn't understand or they didn't explain enough that I first had to select a mail folder.
This was a head scratcher so I hope it helps somebody.

Thanks for all of your responses.
I redid everything you guys mentioned and at one point I got a message that it wasn't reaching the server. The option to "resolve to server" came up (which wasn't the default option) and I clicked it for the heck of it. Sure enough, it fixed the connection. Again, what was odd was that the deault was "try again".
It's working fine now, but since I don't know what caused the disconnect in the first place, I'm hoping the connection doesn't break again, I accept a meeting, and it doesn't get added to iCal. You'd think there'd be a redundancy for .ics files where it would say:
You have responded to an invite. Would you like to add to iCal?
    [Yes] [No]
[ ] Never ask me again
Or it would there would be an option in Mail that says "Display Calendar invites as [] Attachment [] Email."
I know the preferences should take care of this, but meetings and appointments are important enough for this type of anal retentiveness.
Thanks again fo rall your help.

  • Sent mailed not being saved

I have my preferences set to save Sent mail for a month. It is being saved for 2 days only. I have rebuilt the sent mailbox. Restarted, repaired permissions.
Thank you for help with this!

    Hello 17black.
This is an IMAP account, right? Who is the provider?
Do you get the error message while you compose the message or when you hit Send?
BTW, if you’re using Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger), as your profile indicates, it would have been more appropriate to discuss this in the Mail & Address Book - Tiger forum. If the discussion applies to both Mail 1.x and Mail 2.x, it doesn’t really matter, but it’s difficult to know that in advance. The Mailbox Behaviors preference pane that you mention, for example, is called Special Mailboxes in Mail 1.x (and I’ll call it that way if we discuss the problem here).

  • Sent emails not being delivered from Outlook via S...

Hi, is anyone else having issues with sent items via Outlook?
My settings have been working fine for years and the Outlook account check does not show any issues, yet when I send emails they are not delivered. They're not in my Outbox and they go to sent items.
I've tried reconfiguring for SSL, disabling all firewalls/HIPS/protection all to no avail.
It's really annoying especially at this time of year - but tech support say they do not support Outlook and emails sent from the web client work OK.
It can connect to mail.btinternet.com over port 25 and if i couldn't would get an error message in outlook so can only assume they are knocking around somewhere in the BT infrastructure.
Would be useful if a track on emails was available...
Any feedback on similar issues or advice would be gratefully received!
    Thanks

sorry gg30340 , Yes webmail works fine and I can receive from Outlook fine, just sent emails seems to disappear into a black hole from Outlook
    Hi. Welcome to the forums.
For info, CP (Critical Path) has been in use for a few months now for the conversion from using Yahoo! mail servers.
What version of Outlook are you using ?
In the smtp setting, try removing @btinternet.com or @btopenworld.com from the username - despite what the online help might say.
You might like to try port 25, with No security or SSL/TLS setting.
Is it all emails that are failing to send ?
If emails have been fine for years, do you know what the previous settings were ?
As for disabling firewalls - this doesn't always help - as they can still block emails! What security package are you using, and have you checked the settings within that package ?
    Sorry for the extra questions.

  • Sent emails not being delivered from Outlook

For the past week emails sent from Outlook although appearing in my Sent mailbox are not being delivered.  This is not a problem where emails are sent from my iphone.  I have made no settings changes.  This seems to be a familiar problem but research has not produced a solution as most people give up.
I am using a Windows 8 laptop with Outlook 2013.  I have set up numerous new accounts with automated settings with no success.
    Please help!!

I too knowingly have had this problem since at least 19/1/2015.
I have Windows 7 with Outlook 2013 and two BT accounts plus Sky and Google accounts (for fallback). All have functioned well for the past three years.
No changes to my PC have been made for at least 6 months (apart from MS updates).
My wife's laptop runs Windows 7 with Outlook 2010 and has found the same issue. At a Womens Instutute meeting last night in the village it became apparent (without my wife initiating the issue) that a number of other BT eMail account customers have the same problem too.
I spent about an hour yesterday trying various combinations of operation to confirm the issues. I have found:
1 - eMails sent from either BT account self addressed will bounce back the eMails (presumably from the BT Server)
2 - eMails sent from either BT account to BT accounts will not forward (send/deliver)
3 - eMails sent from either BT account to non BT addresses will not forward (but will bounce back if the self address is included in the addresses showing that at least the eMail is reaching the BT mail server).
4 - eMails sent from Outlook through Sky and Google systems are being received by the BT system and recieved into the Outlook BT accounts.
5 - All eMails sent in Outlook appear in the Sent box
6 - eMails sent from Webmail accounts all work normally
All these tests can be replicated on my wife's laptop with other BT and non-BT addresses.
I then spent about an hour whilst a BT Technician (ABHISHEK SEN) through CHAT accessed my PC, checked all settings and declared no fault found.
Later I spent another hour on the phone to the BT Help Desk (with VIKRAM) who did much of the same, declared that there was a problem and that I would have to hire a local PC expert technician to come and sort out the problem on my PC. He would not acknowledge that there just might be a problem with the BT eMail Server system.
Finally the only common thread is that the BT accounts are sub-accounts of my main account and that I pay the bills - and of course the router and copper lines to the exchange.
HOW OR WHERE DO I/WE RAISE THIS ISSUE WITH A HIGHER AUTHORITY TO GET IT RESOLVED?
Oh! And then there is the rest of the village and gwood's machine also need to have their similar issue resolved too.
To use gwood's last paragraph: PLEASE HELP!!

  • Sent emails not being received

Hi, urgent help required.  I currently run 4 different email addresses via BT, 2 for me and 2 for my partner.  Since Thursday we have noticed that some emails are going missing.  I've tested out all addresses by sending from one to another and some are delivered okay others appear to be sent but never arrive, and some appear in our Spam folders.  My partner also sent me emails to my work address but only 2 out of 3 arrived.  I use Windows Mail, my partner uses Outlook Express, I tested via webmail and through our Blackberrys but the results are always different, there is no set pattern, but one thing is for sure, not all emails arrive.  I know email is not 100% perfect, and the odd one goes missing but never to this extent.
I even had a problem getting verified for this forum because the confirmation emails kept going into Spam on webmail.
The main worry is because my partner is self employed and uses his email constantly we are worried that important emails are now going missing, this can be the difference of getting a job from a client or not.
I've checked out some postings are read about disconnecting and rebooting the Hub, which I've done, to no avail.
Please help, as I'm no technical genius but my partner is worse and looks to me to solve these things, and this one has got me baffled.

SPAM filters are heuristic, which means they learn. If you find that some of your messages are appeaing in SPAM folders and ypu don't tell the mail reader that this is not where they should be it starts to assume that ALL messages sent from that user should end up in SPAM. Depending on which mail program you use there may be a button to tell it that specific messages are not SPAM, it is important that you use this on any messages which are erroneously misplaced. They may also support a preferred senders list which is checked before making the decision where to put an incoming email. Unfortunately each mail reader is different in this respect, so it's hard to give specific instructions.

  • Why is sent mail not being shown in sent box?

I even question whether sent mail is really being sent. It tells me it is but without verification I don't know,

Your intuition is correct. When sending a message via your iPhone, the MBP automatically sends duplicate messages to your desktop. And you're right: it's annoying to have to trash messages you already sent - but at least you know your system is working.
There's a neat fix for this. On your ISP's mail application, add a mail box devoted only to your iPhone messages (e.g., [email protected]). Most ISPs will let your add email accounts this way. Add and configure the new email to sync with your iPhone. The next time you use your iPhone with this account, you won't get any duplicate messages, since your iMac hasn't been configured to accept messages from [email protected].
Problem solved? If so, post here so others can use this information. If not, do you need more information?

  • Sent or replied to emails are not being saved in mailbox

My sent emails or the replies to emails sent to me are not being saved in my mailbox. The "sent" box is empty. What is happening and where can I find a copy of the emails I sent and the replies I sent?
    Thanks.

I am not sure why it's not enabled by default, but when you go in to your mail and you can see your inbox.   look below your folders on the left hand side you'll see mail settings under general.
    click it
and you'll see an option to save your sent messages.

  • My outgoing messages are not being saved in my sent folder

Half of my message that I try to send are not being saved in my sent folder. This is a huge problem causing lost documentation and copies of information and conversations I have had. The error message I get says that thunderbird was unable to save to my sent folder and asks if I would like to try again. If I say yes I get the same message over and over again until I give up and let the message be lost to cyberspace. What can I do to fix this issue and stop loosing valuable information for work?
I am using an HP laptop running windows 8.

What protocol is your email account using (POP or IMAP)?
If POP, you need to make sure your local disk space is enough to save the sent messages. Check where the copies are located by looking at the account settings under '''Copies & Folders'''. When using POP, I believe a copy needs to be saved on both sides: local and server.
If IMAP, the email server is where such copies are saved. You can also double-check such settings as mentioned above.
Finally, if your emails are too big, this may be a restriction of your email provider, perhaps get in touch with their support and inquire about this to rule it out as the cause of the problem. Could you share more details about the kind of emails that fail to have a local copy saved or is it for each and every email?

  • Sent emails on my iphone not being saved on my hotmail's sent items

Sent emails on my iphone are not being saved on my hotmail's sent items

Delete the account on your phone under settings> Mail, contacts, calendars> hotmail account> delete. This will not erase anything on your email account as your phone only accesses the server. Then you can add the account again in the same place in settings. Just make sure you have the password so you can add it right away. Sometimes people forget their password because they never use it. If that's the case you can go online and click "forgot password" and resset it before you uninstall it on your phone. Hope this helps.

  • I just wrote about not being able to send messages on my IPad.Someone responded-thanks-I did what they said and now I have no sent mail category.Help!!!!

I just wrote about not being able to send messages on my IPad.Someone wrote back, thanks, about going to settings, outgoing mail etc. and I did that. Now I have no sent mail category.Help.

When you reset the password, you need to enter the password into the outgoing server setting again. I have reset my email passwords a couple of times and I had to enter the password into the outgoing server setting before I could send mail again.
Did you try that? If you did try it, did you try sending an email? You can send yourself an email to test it.
