Sequantial playback of audio files

Need help in implementing sequential playback of sampled audio files.
The task is a simple word-based speech generation; got a number of audio files and a need to play the certain ones in the certain order after clicking the button with a possibility of repetitive playback.
I would extremely appreciate a possibly detailed explanation, as I'm not that experienced in Java :)

For a simple solution look into

You don't need to create an applet to use these.

    Adobe Audition CC does not playback any audio file. He opens it but does not react on the play key. It is after use audio hardware usb wi-fi headphone and return to build-it out. The program don't react now.
    I see problem:
    I am unable to get playback at all in CS6 on Mac. The play button or spacebar will not move the playhead or make sound come out of the foamy things with the magnets. The play button toggles back and forth between green and white, but it isn't working. This is true in both multi track and waveform view.
    Anyone have ideas on what the issue could be? Thanks!

    Best bet would be to go into Preferences > Audio Hardware, verify your input and output devices are correct, and probably switch your Master Clock to the opposite setting.  If that fails, we can continue troubleshooting.
    I have the same problem as the author writes. But these actions do not help

    Unfortunately I believe that requires purchasing the new version, and I do
    not have budget approval for such a purchase.

  • Double playback of audio files after publishing

    Hello,
    I'm having an issue with audio playback.  Once I publish the project, the audio files play back double, with the second one starting about 3 seconds after the first.  If I pause the project, one of the audio files keeps playing.  I removed the auto play function, but no change.  I would greatly appreciate any tips if anyone has experienced this before.
    Thank you!

    Hi Anjaneai, Thanks for the response.
    I don't have any text captions in this project, the entire thing is from PowerPoint, where the audio files worked perfectly fine.   I also checked the use count, everything reads as "1"... I also tried to begin from scratch with just one slide and one audio file, and the same thing happened.  I'm beginning to think my audio files are corrupted.  (However, they play fine in itunes and powerpoint).  I converted them from mp4 > mp3 with an online converter... might just be the problem! I'm going to download a trial of premier and see what happens with that!
    Thanks for the help,

  • Playback of audio files/sequences????

    is it possible to have Mainstage playback audio tracks??? I need to create a setup for vocal input over a prerecorded mp3 or wav/AIF file. I saw somewhere on here that MainStage could trigger iTunes tracks but there was no how to posted.
    thanks

    the only thing i saw in the manual was a paragraph concerning general apple scripts. Im looking to creat buttons that trigger specific tracks in itunes, not jst go to a playlist. I want to avoid leaving MainStage and having to switch to itunes during a performance.
    Thanks!!!

  • No Soundbooth Playback Playing Audio over RDP Connection

    Hello...
    After searching in vain for a solution to this problem in a multitude of different places and coming-up empty, I thought it worthwhile to try asking everyone here to see if you can please help me. Here's my dilemma:
    My company purchased Adobe eLearning Suite 2 which comes with Adobe Soundbooth. We installed it on a high-powered PC that I share with other eLearning developers. I am using Microsoft RDP to remote-into the PC with eLearning Suite and am attempting to perform some simple edits on an existing WAV file using Soundbooth. I am not interested in recording via RDP as I understand it is not possible to do this via Windows XP. Playback of audio files works perfectly fine from other applications on the remote PC with eLearning Suite. I can even play-back and make very simple edits of audio directly via Captivate 5. Just not from Soundbooth.
    When attempting to play an audio file over RDP, the playhead refuses to move. If I go to Edit / Preferences / Audio Hardware, I see that the Default Device shown is Soundbooth 3.0 WDM Sound, with Output Mapping of Microsoft RDP Audio Driver (emulated) - 1 and Microsoft RDP Audio Driver (emulated) - 2 for left and right channel, respectively.
    I have tried the following:
    1. Changed default device to Soundbooth 3.0 DirectSound. This changed the Left and Right output mappings to "no audio device - 1 and -2" respectively. In this configuration, the playhead moves and the audio level meter shows activity, but again, there is (of course) no audible sound.
    2. Under the original Soundbooth 3.0 DirectSound device, turned-off Device 32-bit Playback. No change in the problem. The playhead refuses to move when play is clicked.
    If someone can provide some suggestions on how to resolve this issue, I would really appreciate it! For now, whenever I need to edit a file, I have to hoof-it to the Adobe PC and perform my edits "in-person".
    Thanks!
    Chris

    The sound does playback locally.  I decided to use YouTube to reproduce the issue (with success).  I then decided to hit other sites using other similar plugins to see if audio playback would work and they did (for Shockwave and QuickTime).  As far as if this worked before?... I can't say that for sure.  Where I work, we use a lot of VM technologies to perform testing and I usually use Fabulatech's USB over Network client/server solution to have access to audio devices from a VM, but that's when I'm not using a Remote Desktop Client (using RDP) and use a different remote interface (like a browser plugin: e.g., VMware's Lab Manager) for viewing the operating system screen.  Lately I have been using the Remote Desktop Client more and more because it's just a better tool for getting to VMs remotely than the other less primitive options (which require extra utilities tp support such things like audio).  I will post a new bug report, thanks!

  • I just moved my itunes library from a win 7 computer to a win 8.1 computer. Getting an error message "iTunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration. Audio/Video playback may not operate properly. Can't play CDs or get audio file from web!

    Help! I just moved my itunes library from a Win 7 computer to a new Win 8.1 computer following the instructions on the itunes website. Everything is good except I'm getting an error message on the Win 8 computer if I try to play a CD or get an audio file off of the internet. I get an error message that says "iTunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration. Audio/Video playback may not operate properly. I don't know where to look for or fix the audio configuration on the win 8 computer. As far as I can tell the iTunes configuration looks the same as on the other computers in the house. At this point I don't dare plug my ipod touch into the Win 8 computer for fear it will get messed up.

    I have the same problem and I know that it is due to my PCI Audio driver not being compatible with WIndows 8.1.
    iTunes isn't the only program that can't direct sound to the built-in speakers anymore. The obvious solution would be to update the drivers, but unfortunately Dell does not provide an updated driver for my model, so I am stuck with that.
    However, saying that, only my laptop speakers are affected by this. I can use sound fine on applications where I can choose the output device and direct sound to the head phones, but for some reason iTunes does not let you choose the audio device manually.
    To listen to music I imported the iTunes Library in Windows Media Player and changed the audio output using the following instructions: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/c00d11ba
    However, I would also like to rent movie's from iTunes,
    Would be great if iTunes would let you choose the output device, too, like most other applications using sound  from Skype to Windows Media Player,...

  • Why can't I playback Sonority Recorder audio files?

    I have transferred audio files from my Olympus Voice Recorder DM-420 to my iMac and would like to use Sonority application to playback.  IMac will not play the audio files.  Any ideas as to why?  Thanks in advance...

    Yes you can merge two audio regions
    Simple way:
    Create two audio tracks...
    Place audio region 1 on 1st Audio track
    Place audio region 2 on 2nd Audio track
    Press play and adjust levels/pan/fx etc in mixer.....
    Select all regions using Shift and Left click on each region
    Right / Control Click on one of the regions and from the popup menu choose Bounce & Join > Join or press CMD + J
    Now in the next dialog box choose Stereo or Mono mixdown
    Mixdown done... Single audio file now found in first track with mixdown of both tracks....
    (Rename track.region to taste)
    Bear in mind track volume /pan levels etc get mixed down also so again mix to taste before joining
    Done!

  • Noises&skipping during music playback on itunes from ext drive audio files.

    hello,
    Since my itunes library it is getting too big (about 14000 songs & wave files) I'm using a maxtor one touch II 300gb ext hard drive & another ext 200gb where I moved only the actual audio files.
    So I get weird noises, like electric noise or static, during playback & very often some songs just skip after a few seconds to the next song.
    I tried everything: on the ipod these files are still bad, on cd as well & on pro tools the same...I can't get rid of these noises & skipping.
    So I have the feeling that I'm doing something wrong setting up itunes with an ext drive.
    Do I have to put on the ext drive the actual itunes music library.xml & itunes library icon from the int drive?
    Or just the actual music & keep the original itunes folder untouched?
    Which one should I choose as the main music folder location, int or ext?
    Please help I'm lost & i'm losing so many songs during these days...
    Thanks,

    Hello,
    thanks so much for your support:
    I actually did everything but at this point I get lost...
    # After the folder has been copied, locate your original iTunes Music folder, and drag it to the Trash or Recycle Bin. Note: Don't remove the iTunes 4 Music Library files that may be in the same location as the iTunes Music folder.
    # Empty the Trash or Recycle Bin.
    I don't understand if they talk about the iTunes music folder located in the internal hd or the one in the external one that now is the main folder for itunes.
    Do I have to put the .xml & the music library icon on the ext as well?
    thanks again,

  • No audio on playback of any file types. Driver issue? Realtek High Definition

    I don't recall when this started happening, since I haven't used the program in a very long time. But, no sound is heard from any type of clips I drop into the program. Nothing from the source monitor and nothing from the main window.
    Volume bars show up on the main window but no audio is heard. Audio Hardware preferences have the default device set to premiere pro wdm sound (i suspect this is the issue). I updated my Realtek HD driver last night to version R2.75 (6.0.1.7246 in windows properties). Premiere Pro CS5.5
    Also, maybe not related, I can't drop audio files where I want. It's as if the audio tracks are locked. It only allows me to drop in added tracks, not audio 1 or 2. Even though I have audio in tracks 1 and 2, I can't move new files to these tracks. Even if I unlink the a/v, the audio still will not budge.
    Hopefully these screenshots help.

    I don't follow "Note the Icons in the Audio Track Headers that show this"
    In the Audio Track Headers are "speaker" icons.
    A single speaker is Mono
    A double is stereo
    5.1 says 5.1 (IIRC)
    Mono only goes in a mono track - single speaker.
    Stereo only goes in a stereo track - 2 speakers
    etc....
    Show Audio Hardware  scren grab please.

  • Aperture Audio File Playback

    In Aperture 3.1.1, I am unable to open the attached audio files from my 1D Mark IV. They seem to be attached to the photo and not a separate .wav file. In Adobe Bridge, I am able to open these files as they are a separate .wav file. I talked with Apple today and they did not seem to have any answer either. Any suggestions?

    You're probably playing back with logic set to a lower sample rate than it was when you recorded the piece, TRY getting your US-122 out and plug it in. It will probably set the sample rate back up (probably to 48khz) and the pitch/speed will follow.

  • Slow audio file playback

    I'm sure this has been addressed somewhere in this forum before, but my keyword searches have yielded nothing. It's a pretty straightforward problem, at least I think it is:
    I'm running Logic EX 7.1.1 on a brand new 12" PB (1.5gHz, 512 ram, superdrive) without an audio interface - just playing through the built-in audio card. This computer is a replacement for my old G4 400 PCI, which ran Logic with no problems whatsoever. I do have a TASCAM US-122 audio interface, but I'm in a hotel room right now, so I don't want to drag it out and plug everything in.
    The issue I'm running into is that any audio file I drag in to any project is playing back about a whole step below where I recorded it, and slowed down by a comparable amount. But, any and all of these audio files (WAV and AIFF) play back just fine in any other audio program - I've tried QT, iTunes, Audacity... no other app has any problem. Again, this is a problem I didn't even run into on the old G4 400...
    Any ideas what's going on here?

  • How do I properly manage audio files with iTunes?

    Hello Dear Readers,
    I am going to start using iTunes exclusively for my music collection management. Previously, I had only used iTunes for managing content for my iPhone 4. Now, I am wanting to import all of my media (music) files into iTunes for general use and playback.
    For example, I have over 3,000 music files, and I would like to know the best way to get them into iTunes. From a lynda.com training video about using iTunes, I learned that there is a folder called "Automatically Add to iTunes", which is monitored by iTunes for new files to import into the iTunes library. However, I would like to know if this is the *best* way to do this. For example, can I just*move* my 3,000 music files into this 'Automatically Add' folder and then let iTunes do its thing?
    Will iTunes *move*the files that it is able to manage OUT of this folder and into one of its managed folders, such that there would be no duplicate file left behind? Is it correct in saying that the files that are left in this folder that were not able to be handled by iTunes and must be handled differently before they can be imported into iTunes. Or is there just an all around different, and better, way to get these music files into iTunes? Thanks for your advice and opinions!
    There is also the issue of what to do with the commercial CDs I have (less than 50).  I would like to discard these and just maintain them on digital form, e.g., my 2 TB hard drive.  However, I am getting varying opinions as to how to do this.  I need 2 things:  1) to archive the CDs for retrieval later in case I need the songs that are on them, and 2) MP3 versions of the audio CD files for use on my flash drive which plays on my car audio system.  These would also be the files that I manage in iTunes.
    Some people have suggested using Exact Audio Copy to make a FLAC and a LAME MP3 copy of myCDs.  Others have suggested keeping an ISO copy of the compact discs for reference archive. Personally, I am wondering if I should just import my commercial CDs directly into iTunes, and then pay Apple $25 annually to maintain copies of these, as announced by Steve Jobs at the WWDC that this cloud functionality was forthcoming.
    I am in need of some informed, educated opinions and suggestions as to how I should proceed.
    Then, there is also the naming convention of the files.  When the files get ripped from CD, I can add the freedb information to them for the ID3 tagging.  However, I need to know how to specify in what system that the file names are comprised. This is what I am thinking of as my folder and file name format, at this point.
    For the naming scheme of the audio files, I am proposing the following:
    For most music by 1 artist on a disc, I would do as follows:
    Folder Name: AlbumArtist - Album Title (year)
    File Names:  Track number (from 1 on up, with NO leading zeros) Track Title
    For compilations with various artists, I would use the following for the schema:
    Folder Name: VariousArtists (album artist) - Album Title (year)
    File Names:  Track number (1 on up) Track Title - Track Artist.
    Do these seem like reasonable naming schemes that would be good for using on all audio software and equipment, such as my iPhone, my car audio flash drive player, and in iTunes?
    I know that this is a lot to ask, but I am just trying to learn how to do things correctly and most efficiently so that I don't have problems down the road with my iTunes library.  I welcome input, discussion and of course, dissent!  Thanks!

  • How do i play multiple audio files simultaneously using AudioQueue?

    I've basically gutted what I don't need from the "Speakhere" sample app and I'm left with something I can use to play audio files. I converted wav files to aiff and then renamed the aiff to caf (Just in case this matters). I even tried shortening the files to 10 seconds long, but no difference. I am able to play files singly, but am unable to play more than one file at the same time. When I try to play multiple files, the first one plays correctly but the second will play a horrible long beeping sound. Sounds almost like a buzzer and sometimes will sound like a high pitched beep. My code has all the audio components like the speakhere app (AudioQueueObject, AudioPlayer, AudioViewController). I've changed the AudioViewController to be just my "AudioController" class where when I initialize, I pass in the name of the file and it replaces this line of code:
    CFStringRef fileString = (CFStringRef) [NSString stringWithFormat: @"%@/Recording.caf", self.recordingDirectory];
    with this:
    CFStringRef fileString = (CFStringRef) [NSString stringWithFormat: fileName, self.recordingDirectory];
    Any suggestions? I've been yanking my hair out trying to figure this out and I simply can't. I'm about ready to pull an "Office Space" but instead of beating up a printer, I'm going to destroy my macbook.
    *NOTE: I have only tried this in the simulator, but I'm assuming it will do this on the real thing so I haven't bothered to try.

    Unless I'm mistaken, you need one AudioQueue object for each audio file you want to play. In one of my apps, I basically copied the code provided in the [AudioQueue programming guide|http://developer.apple.com/iphone/library/documentation/MusicAudio/Concep tual/AudioQueueProgrammingGuide/AQPlayback/chapter4_section_1.html#//appleref/doc/uid/TP40005343-CH3-SW1] and made a wrapper object for playback. So then you can do something like this:
    MyAudioManager *manager1 = [[MyAudioManager alloc] initWithFile:@"file1.caf"];
    [manager1 play];
    MyAudioManager *manager2 = [[MyAudioManager alloc] initWithFile:@"file2.caf"];
    [manager2 play];
    // etc...
    If you want to play short files (~10s or less), you can use the simpler AudioServices functions along with SystemSoundID's. It will work fine if you have playback from AudioQueue and AudioServices at the same time.
