Serial number in a particular form

Hi,
For our Sub assembly and finish material we have assign serial number profile, and every time whenever user create an order of sa or FG material first user have to create serial number in IQ01 oyr required formate is
YEAR - MONTH - BATCH - SERIAL NUMBER
2010051001,
when we click on create serial number automatically, it select as 1 , 2 , 3 etc. is there any method we can create serial number as per our requirement.

For any serial number internally an equuipment number will be created in the system and stored in the EQUI Table as EQUNR (Equipment number) and SERNR (serial number) along with the material code
In material master you maintain the serial number profile for the material with asynchronous mode(ser level field as Blank in Plant data/stor 2 view) and create serial number for the material in IQ01/IQ04 like 201005VAL123(yearmonthbatchserial number) , internally the equipment number will be created as per the equipment internal number range.
In other way take the help of ABAPER to achieve this through coding in case of crete serial number automatically by concatenating the yearmonthbatch with the serial number.

At reciept level when we are manually assigning Individual serial number for a particular Item in the serial entry Form (serial_entry Block).
Manual process For 10 Quantity its ok, but is taking time for 1000 Quantity.

You can receive by range.
Enter the starting serial number, enter the qty and then Oracle will generate 1000 serial numbers automatically.

Adobe_prtk returns code 3 (Serial Number is Not Well Formed)

Hi.
using the adobe_prtk kit to alter our Serial number for CS5... it is reporting error 3, which is Serial Number is Not Well Formed.
The question I have is this? How should the serial number be written.
numbers with dashes.. i.e 1234-1234, or numbers with no dashes, i.e. 12341234, or numbers with spaces.. 1234 1234?

I am also having the same issue as Frenske1406. I have checked the command syntax for inputting a serial into Master Collection CS5 for Windows and have tried the serial with dashes, no dahes with spaces, no spaces, but still get a return code 3 which refers to "Serial number is not well formed". After much Googling, I can't find a solution.
The command syntax I have tried are:
adobe_prtk --tool=ReplaceSN --serialize=MasterCollection-CS5-Win-GM --serial=####-####-####-####-####-####
adobe_prtk --tool=ReplaceSN --serialize=MasterCollection-CS5-Win-GM --serial=########################

Populate Serial Number from SO to forms

Need yr expertise.. I have maintained serial number in Sales Order (Extras --> Technical Objects).. I have a requirement to print the serial number in forms.. How do I do that? I have checked the serial number and it is in structure (RIWOL-SERNR)..

Serial Number Profile has Procedures , those procedures may be examples
a)Maintain goods receipt and issue doc.
b)Serial numbers in PP order
c)PP order release
d)Serial nos in repetitive manufacturing
e)Maintain inspection lot
f)Serial numbers in SD order
g)Completness check for delivery
h)Completion check IR delivery
i)Maintain delivery
j)Maintain returns delivery
So we can maitain multiple procedures under one serial number profile.
2) Those procedures might w.r.t our application
3) In addition to that that procedures having another settings like Sr number Usage and Equipment number requirment like to create or not create.
4) Serial number profile has some settings like Equipment category, stock chek etc
5) The T.Code for Serial Number Profile is OIS2
6) A Material will be activated for Serial Number Applications, and start asking to provide serial numbers eg. at the time Goods Movements, Production order etc
7) The setting required is In Work Scheduling view, we can assign the profile
8) Serial Number creation can be done at two places a) By IQ01 or IQ04 Tranacations and during Good Movement
9) Normally system can generate only Numercal serial numbers by Internal Sr Number creation, Alpha Num is Manual
10) If alpha numerical means we have to enter or have to make z program with our logic by calling the IQ01 tranasaction and entering our alpha numerical numbers
11) A serial number can be changed or a material which was assigned to serial number can be changed by using the transaction IQ02 with serial number special functions

Serial Number to Items

Hi All,
I am using serial numbers to finished goods items.
I sell one item as 1001 to a customer.
So all the documents related to sales (Sales order, Delivery, A/R Invoice) do not show the serial number of the particular product sold.
From the form settings if I select the Serial No. field, it adds the field in the rows but does not show the serial number of the item selected.
My client needs to view the serial numbers of the items sold.
Can anybody suggest.

There are a few things to be considered when looking at the option of using a UDF at the row level.
Let us say, you have item A which has quantity 5. This mean you will have 5 serial number. Since this is a very good possibility in business you need to take this into consideration.
FMS(formatted search) will not be a good option or will be too difficult to implement. Couple of reason, you have to add the document first and then trigger the FMS manually by calling the document back.
You will have to Query the serial number tables OSRI and SRI1 (NOT OIBT and IBT1).
Therefore, if you are still holding on your thought to get the Serial numbers on the Screen. Then use the UDF option but create a row level UDF large enough to hold the maximum number of serial numbers you think can be delivered per item.
Then you need to write code in the SBO transaction notification stored procedure to create a looping construct to fetch all the serial numbers for a line item and ConCat it to one variable and Update the UDF with this Variable's value.

CS6 Design Standard Serial Number is valid, but a qualifying product could not be found...?

I am attempting to reinstall CS6 Design Standard after a computer upgrade, however the Application Manager won't take my serial number. In particular, when I enter the serial number, I receive the following error message:
Serial Number you provided is valid, but a qualifying product could not be found on this computer.
When I enter the serial number for one of the products that should be eligible for the upgrade, I receive the error message:
This serial number is not for a qualifying product. Please try another.
I've attempted this on a couple of machines with the same result. I've also attempted to install CS6 Design Standard after installing numerous other products: CS5 Design Premium, CS5 Design Standard, CS3 Design Standard... and none of these were found as qualifying products.
I'm attempting this on OS X 10.9.3, on numerous MacBook Pro configurations from the past four years. It is plugged into the network, and the connection is active. I haven't seen anything in Console that is related.
Is there someone from Adobe that I can contact to get verification of this Serial Number, and what product it would be attached to?

The Serial Number you have is a upgrade Serial Number from a older version.
So when you try to install, you have to insert the Serial Number for CS6 Design Standard and on the next screen, you need to choose the old product from drop down list and enter the Serial Number for that.
It is not necessary to install the old application before installing CS6 Design Standard , all you need is the Serial Number for the old version.

How to prevent re-use of serial number?

Hi Gurus,
I have a serialized finished product.
During Goods Receipt from production order a serial number is assigned to it.
Now I'm doing delivery for that serial number item.
That serial number is again in available status, thus allowing me to assign the same serial number during the next Goods Receipt from another production order for the same finished product.
I want to stop the system from allowing the use of same serial number, once it is used. But it should allow me to use the same serial number when that particular serial numbered finished product is returned from the customer.
Help me in acheiving this.

Hi,
Check, if your serial number profile is activated for stock check with error in OIS2. Then status of the serial number will be updated correctly and system will not allow to reuse the same serial number. Also you can use user status in your order to prevent the same.

How to know , when serial number in sales order is changed ?

I am changing Sales order line item serial number. So the equipment number and Serial number both are changed for that particular line item. But I am unable to know, what was the last Equipment number, and Last serial number for that material of sales order line item.
Can any one please help me, how to determine the details about the date and time of change of serial number of a particular sales order line item ?

I have already checked for VA02 -> Line item -> Environment ->changes. It show changes related to fields available in VA02.
But it is not showing changes related to Serial number change.
I have also checked with table CDHDR, CDPOS. But the data related to change in serial number of SO line item is not captured in those tables also.
Is there any other way to know?

Hi Dilip,
According to your description, you want to have a column to show row number and keep the numbers fixed with rows when filtering data. Right?
In Reporting Services, when you use rownumber() function in a tablix, it will only return the row number of current rows in tablix. So if you use filter, it will only show numbers for filtered rows. However, in this scenario, we can use ROW_NUMBER()
function in query which can return a column of row numbers for records. This row number is at query level, it will be retrieved as data field in report. So this number will be fixed with each data row and there's no effect if we use filter. Please try
to modify your query in your dataset like below:
Select [col1],[col2],...,ROW_NUMBER() OVER (ORDER BY Employee) as RN from [table]

Invalid serial number using Acrobat 8 CD

I am trying to install Acrobat 8 on a workstation I swapped out. Acrobat 8 was on the "old" workstation. I deactivated it from the help menu and Acrobat 8 reported that the license had been successfully released. Then I installed Acrobat 8 on the new workstation. I get an error message saying invalid serial number. I know I am using the right serial number. I think the problem is that I am using a different CD than the one that was originally used and I am guessing the serial number is somehow coded on the installation CD, so that it is the invalid serial number for that particular CD. However I have no idea where the first CD is anymore as other people use it besides me. Presumably I should be able to install Acrobat 8 from any media (I hope) as long as I have a valid and legal serial number. Is there any way to get past that error message for my situation?

There may well be many different installer CDs, depending upon if the Acrobat is an upgrade from a previous version, a new full version installer, or even one that came with another suite. You need to find the correct disk for the serial number you have. If you cannot find one, perhaps Adobe Customer Service can help you. Needless to say your company should not be playing fast and loose with installation disks that are worth big money.

600MHz iMac Serial Number not Recognized!

I just purchased a 600MHz iMac from ebay and Apple does not recognize the serial number! I tried going to www.apple.com/support and checking the status and I tried registering the product but I keep gettin this message:
"We could not recognize the serial number you entered. Please re-enter it, making sure each letter or number is correct."
The serial number is in the form: RN106xxxxLB

from Apple Menu > About This Mac (click-click-click the grey line that says "Version...").
Is it the same number as the one found at this location?

If it's not, there is a chance that one of the numbers is not properly recognized by Apple, since a motherboard replacement or something like that.

SERIAL number field to be identified for a delivery.

I need technical detail (Table-fieldname) for serial number , when a goods issue for serialised item is done.The same can be seen in VL02n =>Extras=>Serial Numbers.
SERNR field is there in lips table but it is blank for the delivery number.Please let me know how can i find the serial number for a particular movemnt type and delivery.

First check your customization of Serial number for delivery, whether this is maintained or not.and if it is maintained then check last number.
use tcode SNRO.
there also you can simply find out the field by pressing F1 on related field.

Exceeded Serial Number Entry-ordering Recovery Disc

Ordering recovery disc for Pavilion dv7-1245dx. I am in the USA so checked that. Entered the serial number on the order form. Came back incorrect number. Tried again and same error. Tried the letter"O" instead of zero/nil - same error. Then, since the number began with CND I guessed it might be a Candian product. Checked Canada on previous page and re-entered the serial number. This time it said I had exceed the allowed attempts to enter a serial number. The link shown for support was a 404 dead-end. Any suggestions?

Check you have the correct Serial No. by checking the entry in the bios. To do this, shut down the notebook. Tap away at f10 as you press the power button to enter the Bios Menu - on the initial page you should see several details relating to your notebook such as Model No. Product No. and also your Serial No.

Serial number for a SO

hi everybody
i created a SO and created a delivery(post goods issue and added 2 serial numbers) using the transaction VL01N.
However when I checked the table ser01 with the delivery number generated, there was only one record.
There should have been 2 records(since i added 2 serial numbers), isnt it? or I am wrong?
