Serial number request REPEATEDLY

I have the newest version of Aperture, with newest updates, running, and am prompted for serial numbers on each opening. I've tried deleting the ProApps file. Nothing helps. I can't find contact information for support through Apple with this issue. This is a huge problem for our studio.

Sometimes Aperture writes the  "ProApp System ID" file to a temporary directory, when it cannot write to the Library. If deleting the  "ProApp System ID" from the Library does not work, look at the temporary directory /tmp
Use the Finder's "Go" menu
  Go > Got to folder    and  enter /tmp into the textfield. If you see the file there, move it to its proper location in /Library/Application Support/ProApps

    You must first make the purchase, then you will receive the serial number you are asking about.  YOu do not acquire the serial number thru the software.  You acquire it thru the purchase, possibly via a follow-up confirmation  email.

  • Serial number request after transfer

    Following many reinstallations when transfering my complete catalog of PE 8, I now receive this message when switching fron Organizer to Editor:
    - I have deactivate this serial number on one of my PC and I can ask Adobe now to validate this number;
    - I have a new serial number...;
    -  I want to solve this problem later (5 days remaining).
    What should I do since I do not want to to deactivate now on my old PC before I am completely sure of the transfer. So I must continue workig for now.
    Beside my intention woul be to up grade to PE 10 some day, Should I do it now in order to solve everyting? In that case what w will happen with the old catalog? Must I keep version 8 on the PC?
    Help please

    It does’nt seem to cover PE 8 so it does not solve my problem.

    Why am I suddenly being asked to enter a serial number for the products I have downloaded? It keeps asking me to License the software.

  • SOFTWARE SERIAL NUMBER REQUEST??

    Hi all
    This morning when I started up Motion 3 it asked me to enter my serial number. The timing of this request is quite bizarre as I installed the FCS 2.0 update months ago, and have used Motion 3 many times since then. I have not recently software update the application either [ie Software Update for incremental BUP]. Anyhow, my point is that I tried entering my original Motion Serial Number [from when it was a standalone app], then the FCP Production Suite Serial Number, then FCS 2.0 Upgrade Serial Number and NONE OF THESE WERE VALID as per the message!
    Does anyone know what serial number / version etc it is asking for because they are all valid!!!! and not some dodgy copy that some kid's been distributing illegally!!!
    FUNNY THING HOWEVER, this serial request occured when opening Motion 3 from the application icon situated on my dock - I then tried opening Motion 3 from my most recent project [the one I need to work on immediately] and it opened without problem / without asking for my serial number [whichever one it is referring to that is!].
    ANY IDEAS, this is very concerning...
    Motion version 3.0.1, FCP 6.0.1 etc

    Yes many valid licences for all versions since FCP 1.0!
    One of the main reasons I've posted this enquiry too is to see if it happening to other users...
    FUNNY THING IS, about half an hour later I attempted to reopen Motion via the App Icon on the Dock and it opened up without an issue... Quite bizarre.
    So in summary,
    1. could not open via dock application icon without asking for serial numbers which when entered did not validate
    2. could then open motion via double clicking on an existing project
    3. then 1/2 hour later could open motion via dock application icon without prompt for serial number
    Fortunately it is working now, but I hope it does not occur again when I am under more pressure than this morning. I will get in touch with apple and post their reply / the path taken, if any, to ensure there is no repeat of the issue.

  • PSE 11 Serial Number Requested

    I had PSE 11 installed box copy recently it began asking me to enter the serial number when I went from organizer to editor and if I attempted to go right to editor when I entered the serial number I got message invalid serial number so I uninstalled PSE 11 and re installed same problem after clicking on cancel about a dozen times editor would then open. I obviously do not want to continue to do this any suggestions to solving this problem

  • Serial Number Requested Again

    Aperture 2.1.4, which previously worked fine, is now asking for the serial number again. The weird thing is that on the About screen it both says that it is a Trial AND shows my serial number and name. It says it will expire in 30 days.
    I've tried reinstalling, deleting the ProApps folder, and deleting the preferences file. I've also reinstalled it from my Time Machine Backup, but nothing seems to work. I see others have had a similar problem, but cannot find a solution.

    @balcott: The fix for what you describe is deleting the Aperture System ID from the ProApps folder. If that didn't work, all I can tell you is to run AppZapper to completely wipe Aperture from your system and reinstall.
    @Kit Try what balcott already tried because it usually works: Go to Library/Application Support/ProApps and remove the file Aperture System ID. (This is in the ROOT library not the user library) Then relaunch Aperture. It should ask for your serial only once
    my Aperture Library still describes itself as "Aperture Trial Library".
    You mean in the finder? Your Aperture Library can have any name. Just change it when aperture is not running then double click it to make it your default.

  • Serial Number Request is constant!

    I bought Logic Studio, fair and square. I use it on only one computer. Yet, I frequently am required to re-enter my product serial number. Same in Mainstage2. If I quit, instead of entering the number, then relaunch, sometimes it still asks me for the SN, other times, it just loads up. I repaired permissions, but I can't seem to figure out why this happens with such frequency. Any suggestions?

    cacls "C:\ProgramData\Adobe\SLStore" /T /E /C /G administrators:F
    And then follow the steps mentioned in the first reply, also try the additional step :
    Go to C:\ProgramData\Adobe\SLStore unhide all  the hidden files and folders and delete them.(Do not delete the folder)
    Launch Acrobat.

  • Constant serial number request

    Hello,
    I just installed Acrobat 11 this morning.
    The product keeps asking me the serial number, then my adobe login/pwd (to register). Sometimes it shuts the program down and i loose my work.
    Nobody is available on Adobe's chat feature : can I have a phone number to a french support ?

  • Serial Number requested on a new(used) machine.  Which one?

    I just bought a used 8 core 3ghz macpro. Everything is working beautifully...except...I am being asked to provide a password for FCP. I have the software all the way back to FCP1.0 and have upgraded to FCP Studio2 and running FCP 7.0.2. I've tried all my passwords and none of them work. Any suggestions?

    general informations you will find there: https://www.adobe.com/account.html and this brandnew website:  Serial number and activation support.
    In case you bought your program from these firms like Amazon this "serial number" obtained from them is not a serial number, only a code with which you can request a serial number from Adobe.
    The following part, so I just see at least ceased to exist on my Adobe website, everything plays out in the link from above. I let it there as an info:
    Here you have to go through your "Adobe Store", and look for the button "Serial Number Request". Fill in the form and, after a while you will get a "real" serial number.

  • CS2 Premium serial number not accepted at use on Win 7 system

    I have at several years old version of the Creative Suite 2 Premium. It has been licensed on a Win XP system previously, but now I try to install it on my new Win 7 computer.
    But the "Personalize your software" - window will not accept the serial number that I can read on the product casette from the label named "SERIAL NUMBER CREATIVE SUITE PREM".
    Am pretty sure that it is entered correctly, and in fact the same serial number is accepted during installatin.
    Please advise....

  • LR 5 Trial and Serial Number

    I have a TRIAL VERSION of LR 5. It expired today. I just joined CC.
    LR5 is asking me for a Serial Number when I try to open it.
    How do I get LR 5 to recognize my CC membership?
    I also had a Photoshop CC trial on my computer which was expired, but that software has a button that says
    "License Software" and clicking on that allows me to sign in with CC membership, the Photoshop CC software recognized that and allowed me access.
    How do I get LR 5 to do the same?
    There is much I do not understand about the way Adobe does things. For instance if I go into Photoshop CC folder in Applications, there is an UNINSTALL option. I see no such option for LR 5 so that I could theoretically delete that and then reinstall LR from CC.
    There's something to be said for consistency in terms of ease of use by consumers.
    If someone could tell me how to get past the Serial Number Request with LR5 and get it to recognize my CC Membership that would be grealty appreciate. Just tried calling Adobe Support and the wait is nearly an hour.

    Please navigate to Application/Utilities/Adobe Installers and look for Lightroom uninstaller and uninstall it. Run the CC cleaner tool to remove any leftover ruminants of Lightroom: http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html .
    Try installing Lightroom again from CC desktop.

    This is driving me insane, it's taken days just to verify, forever to load and install but now it's telling me that to download Photoshop elements/ premiere elements 12 (student edition) I need a serial number, I have one.. but it won't accept it because it has letters in it ?     Serial numbers do not have letters in them.  What you are using might be a redemption code, which if you have already used it, it will no lonmger work, and is not what you enter for a serial number request.   If you previously had this software installed and registered it then your serial number should be available thru your Adobe account online.
