Thanks,
but this is what the "help" in my E61i seems to imply. The app says: once phones are paired and one has sent data from the other phone to the E61i once, you can sync the two phones.
Also, synching the two via Outlook is precisely what I want to avoid...
I synch my E61i with my MAC via iSync and everything is just perfect.
If I sync also the E61i to Oulook, it takes me half an hour each time to clean up doubles and triple entries on both the E61i and the Mac, both in calendar/agenda and in contact.
I am very open-minded, but experience teaches me to avoid touching products from MS Corporation with a ten foot pole, as much as I can.
Any more on this, please?

Try not to use MS and Apple products together where ever possible. They speak differently. If you are using iSync then use primarily this method. It is actually more efficient and easier with less overhead.
You can send your date from one device to the other via BT, or you can copy all info to your Mac then to the other device.Message Edited by phoenix9000 on 10-Oct-200703:48 AM

  • A series of bugs after update to iOS 8.2

To be straight forward, after I performed the update, the significant 'changes' were:
    1) Unstable location service,
    2) App Store content unavailable for my country, thus,
    3) I can no longer install free/paid apps, and even worse,
    4) I can't view my Apple ID regardless of how I do it (eg: in the iTunes & App Store section in the settings app OR most bottom part of the app store. Either the window open, loads, and closes or says 'cannot connect to iTunes Store)
I currently have no evidence to prove whether if its my device not performing well or is it because of the update, but the faulty location service has made me feel very suspicious that the update is the cause.
    Additional info:
    - The phone was completely reset about two days ago(still 8.1.3) for some personal reason and was restored using iCloud
    - Tried:
      > Turning off the device off and back on again twice but nothing worked

    Technical Info:
    - iPhone 6 (16GB)
    - currently iOS 8.2(12D508)
    - Region: (will be provided if required since its a country-related software issue)
Lastly, thanks for reading (or even trying to help) and I apologize if there are any mistakes.

FWIW, I am having the same problem with my Apple ID and had NOT taken the 8.2 update.  I suspect it is related on some level, but here was my situation, for reference:
Got a pop-up on my MacBook (latest mavericks EDIT: YOSEMITE) asking for my iMessage password, and it would not accept my regular appleID password
Went to manage my appleID and see if I needed a new app-specific password (I DO have 2-step verification on)
Logged-in, asked for me to verify through 2-step
Got the confirmation code just fine on my phone
Entered the code and bounced back to appleID homepage with the message "an unknown error occurred"

  • Urgent! Music player error/bug

my n95 8gb's music player has some kinda error. i downloaded a mp3 file, the artist name was ACDC. i renamed it to AC/DC, but the ACDC artist name wasn't deleted. i opened it, nothing was there. i tried to delete it, but a pop-up message says General: Feature Not Supported. Can anyone here help me with this? coz i have to sell my phone so i can buy an electric guitar. Please help..
    Regards,

This is a normal case with the phone
on firmware 3.08 you often get General System Error
on firmware 3.26 you would get an never ending Searching for Music
on firmware 4.13 you would freeze up your music playing by using the original head set after playing 2-5 tracks
I have to add that the music player is the major flaw in this phone with its series of bugs.  It has issues when updating library after adding new songs too, in addition to its low sound production.
I have tried the phone soft reset but this is never a permanent solution
The phone is a good phone still but Nokia seems to neglect its users.

  • More String Control Scrollbar Bugs

In the series of bugs that will never be fixed but need to be posted for the record, here is a variant of the String Control horizontal scrollbar topic.
Take a String Control (works with Classic, Modern and Silver):
Show its horizontal scrollbar. That's not an immediate process, so here is the wya it goes in LV 2013:
    - Show Properties
    - Go to the Appearance Tab
    - Uncheck "Wrap at word breaks"
    - Check "Show horizontal scrollbar"
    Here's the result:
    Where's the scrollbar?
You have to grab one of the control edges, expand it VERTICALLY by one pixel and the container box with then snap to a size that accounts for the scrollbar height:
    Expanding HORIZONTALLY has no effect:
If you try that with the System String Control, similar limitations apply but you get a bonus:
    The one pixel tall string!

    X. wrote:
That is probably a good guess. However, I would argue that if I go throught the trouble of opening the Properties Panel to ask for a horizontal scrollbar, I'd be happy to get the scrollbar added.
I have actually found out another oddity (which makes the behavior of the System String somewhat less outlandish):
If you take the default Silver String control, which has a height of 37 pixels, and expands it to 39 pixels or more, then following the procedure I described in my original post, the horizontal scollbar will be shown.
    Like this:
Here I have painted the String background in red so that you can see that a 1 or 2 pixel string display area is available (like I described for the System string, but here, if you further manipulate the control, it will snap to a more reasonable height allowing you to type in something visible).
So, what I am saying is that there is not much coherence in what the algorithm considers a valid condition to show a scrollbar. Of course all this becomes very interesting when the font size is changed...
Well, you just illustrated exactly what I meant.  The scroll bar is as tall as the control itself is.  I think it is unavoidable though.  Just look at everything that has a scroll bar.  The scroll bar gets added to the INSIDE of the window that needs it, not the outside.

  • Flash remains completely buggy, despite trying all advice

    Hi everyone,
So I've had problems with Flash on my MBP for some time now and I've been unable to resolve them.
I've searched this forum, read the available info at Adobe, and have tried a number of things suggested in other posts and on the Adobe site, but no luck.
    Firstly, the problem:
Certain flash content I access with my system seems to work OK. Except for the usual CPU-hogging and fans going to high speed, some Flash content works as expected.
But more often than not, Flash content just doesn't work properly. For example, several youtube videos (not all, but most) don't work properly - the transport controls often don't display properly and just don't work. Trying to hit pause doesn't pause - it just starts the video from the beginning again right away, it's impossible to actually stop playback without just closing the window entirely. Not all youtube videos have this problem but most do. TED talks are an example of a youtube site where it always does this.
Other flash-based players like in MySpace also don't work properly. Pretty much 100% of the time I don't see any text in the music players (so no track names, no visual information), and the transport controls either work just for basic play and stop, or not at all. Yet some flash-based players do seem to work fine, such as the BBC radio 4 player.
Also, I have had flash completely crash my browser several times a day recently, when clicking on a related video in youtube. This flakey behaviour happens in Safari (latest version), Firefox (also latest) and Chrome (yes, latest version too).
My system is completely up to date with the most recent OSX version, and all of the security updates, Pro Kit and Pro App Support. I regularly repair permissions, and I regularly run system maintenance routines and cron scripts via a 3rd party support app.
My latest attempt to fix the problem:
I downloaded the flash player uninstaller from Adobe, made sure that all apps were closed and ran the uninstaller. I then repaired permissions and restarted. After restarting, I installed the latest Flash for OSX, then repaired permissions straight after. When I did this, I saw that disk utility made a list as long as my arm of permissions that it repaired, almost all of them related to Flash.. so I figured this might be a good sign. I ran repair permissions a 2nd time just to see if it had missed anything, but on the 2nd time round, there was nothing more to be repaired. Still, as an extra precaution, I restarted again before attempting to launch a browser. Upon restart, I opened Safari and went straight to youtube. Sure enough, no change whatsoever. The very same problem still exists in exactly the same way as before.
I've had this trouble for a long time now, and I'm getting tired of trying to fix it. I like watching youtube content but I hardly do so anymore, because being unable to pause and resume viewing makes it a more annoying experience than its worth most of the time, not to mention the browser crashes. My Snow Leopard install was painstakingly undertaken from scratch - I used to have Tiger on this machine, but installed a brand new 500GB internal drive to do a completely fresh install of OSX when I made the move to Snow Leopard late last year.
I'm no novice to managing Macs - as I said before, I do all of the maintenance routines regularly.. but this problem just won't go away. I'm starting to suspect that there's so much bad blood on the whole Flash issue with Apple and Adobe that it wouldn't surprise me if they're intentionally making the whole thing flakey just to make users like me hate Flash more and more.. so that we'll be happy to see it condemned to history and won't miss it on things like the iPad.
I've never been a fan of Flash, and like everyone I think it's ridiculous how much it winds up the fans and hogs the CPU on my MBP just to play a silly little video. So sure, I'll be happy when no one uses it anymore. But for now, I actually would like to have it working because like it or not, it's the reality for youtube and a number of other sites.. I don't see why it should be so consistently buggy on my system when I have the very latest updates of everything and I religiously manage my computer to keep it in great shape. I work professionally using Logic Pro on this very same computer, and in every way apart from Flash, the machine is in tip-top condition.
If anyone can tell me what the h*ll I can do to fix this, I'm all ears. In the meantime, I'll probably reserve a genius bar appointment to look into this.. but I've been to the genius bar before only to find that the 'genius' was less skilled at Mac maintenance than I am. So I won't be surprised if I'm sent home with the usual knee-jerk reaction advice - 'zap your P-RAM and reinstall OSX'. If that's the best they can do, then I'm just going to live with the problem because as I said earlier, my system is performing brilliantly in every other way. There is no way I'm going to put myself through all the reinstall process for all of my professional apps, reauthorizing dozens of plug ins etc etc, just to fix this problem. For the professional work I do, this computer is finely-tuned and running like a dream. In fact, I find it hard to believe that there might be something fundamentally wrong with my system that a reinstall would fix - purely because if there was something wrong deep down in the system, then the suite of professional apps that I use for work would surely be showing problems much more than a meagre little application/plug in like Flash.
Anyway, if anyone can think of anything that I may have missed, I'd love to hear about it.
    Cheers.

Hi, thanks for the input everyone.
Rather than trying to take quotations from multiple posts, I'll attempt to answer all of the pertinent questions you all brought up without going from quote to quote.
In terms of which browser - as I said in my original post, I have 3 - Safari, Firefox and Chrome. Same problem is experienced in each. I just tested them again (literally right now) after having done the very thorough uninstall/reinstall of Flash, and it's still as dodgy as ever. I have to admit I've only ever seen a browser crash (caused by Flash) in Safari, but that's probably only because Safari is the browser I use most and am never in the other browsers long enough to let Flash decide to explode.
As for launching Safari in 32 bit mode.. you got me excited there for a moment cos I thought that indeed maybe I was in 64 bit mode and my problem could be over.. but alas, I checked and there it was, that 32 bit box was already ticked. Sigh.
I've tried to backtrack this problem to see if I can rule out whether it was a new thing since Snow Leopard or not. Then I decided to actually test this, because I still have a bootable clone of my Tiger system exactly as it was the day I moved to Snow Leopard. Booting from that system, I was reminded that yes.. I had problems with Flash under Tiger as well. Similarly, it was somewhat arbitrary with some sites working fine, others not so fine. Some youtube videos would have strange transport control issues, others none at all. But upon checking, the problem was not exactly the same.. In my current system, it seems like a great deal more youtube videos don't work properly, and the way in which it plays up is worse now than it was before. Example: in Tiger, I would regularly have youtube videos where I could never click somewhere in the timeline and have the video play from that point. If I tried to do that, it would just jump back to the beginning and start playing all over. In Snow Leopard (notably with TED Talks videos, but with many others too), not only is this also the case, but I never can use the play/pause button because it just jumps back to the beginning every time. Also, mousing over the transport area, I get a weird white/grey box in the space where those transparent ads should be. And then, in both Tiger and Snow Leopard, I occasionally get a situation where the transport bar will just go crazy, moving really fast as if the video is like 3 seconds long and then jumping back to the start and jumping all over the place. But the video itself plays normally, except of course that you can't pause it, jump to a different place in time or whatever. And to top it off, it's usually a sign that Flash is going to do its best to bring down my whole browser some time soon.
Anyway thanks again for the pointers. I've also emptied the cache a few times in my browsers, no luck either. Frankly I'm pretty much over wasting time getting this to work - given that my system is in pristine condition, regularly maintained and totally up-to-date, I'd find it very strange if no one else was experiencing some youtube videos behaving in this way too. It seems like there must be a fundamental bug or series of bugs in there somewhere that no matter what I do, I'm not going to be able to get around until the people responsible actually fix them.
Thanks for the heads up on the HTML 5 youtube site! I've just signed up for that and checked some of my regular youtube content that I watch.. It WORKS PERFECTLY! Brilliant. I think I'm going to consider this problem solved now, because I'm so turned off by Flash that I'm now quite happy to see it die a well-deserved death, the faster the better. Like I hinted at earlier, I wouldn't be at all surprised if this was all some top-secret machiavellian plan from Apple HQ.. I doubt they'd go as far as to intentionally kneecap Flash so that it doesn't work and drives users to hate it so much that they start pushing everyone to move to alternatives. But I bet it's just as easy to not bother putting in the effort to bug-fix, because in the end you get the same result. In my profession, Digidesign do exactly the same thing with their hardware - it works flawlessly like golden molten butter when you use it with their own software. But the minute you use it with something else, it's so dicey that end users could easily be convinced that it's the other software that's badly written... It seems to be a valid (if sneaky) strategy used by the technology industry these days to nudge users in the direction they want them to go...
Anyway thanks a lot for that advice. It was mainly only youtube that was driving me nuts, so now that I can use it without Flash, I might even totally remove it from my system. Too bad for MySpace, but whatever..
    Cheers!

  • Flash 11 crashes in all browsers

I've seen this question and ones similar to it posted several times with no clear answer or even an acknowledgement of what appears to be a series of bugs with Flash 11.
I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium, 32 bit, service pack 1. The Flash 11 plugin crashes in IE 8 (I never use this browser, but I verified the bug exists there as well), Chrome 16.0.912.63 m, and Firefox 9.0.1. Uninstalling and reinstalling made no difference.
After the install, when the Adobe Flash page loads it says that install is complete, but there is a long pause and eventually the portion of the page that should show the Flash content shows the plugin crash message, prompts to send a bug report (which I have done several times), and asks to reload the page - which only causes a repeated failure.
How do I get Flash to work again on my computer? This started back in November. I've been expecting to see some concrete information on a fix, but have not.

You don't mention whether you disabled your AV file scanner or other shields before installing.
That being the case, please follow my instructions in this post to uninstall/reinstall it again in order to eliminate a security app interfering with the installation: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4081633#4081633

  • Why does blue dot disappear when opening mail

When I click on the mail icon to go to my "in" box, the "in" box opens properly, but them immediately the blue dots next to new, unread emails disappear and unless I noticed, I can't visually see which emails are unread.  How do I fix this so the blue dots stay until I open the actual message?

Will obviously have to ensure all video and audio is fully ready for output then add the titles and export to disc without shutting down.
Have you tried exporting a video yet?
You might be disappointed to find that the titles don't render either - even if you do export before shutting down.
So I hate to make the bug even worse without any help whatsoever ;-) but that's the state of this bug as I know it.
If you can get any titles done at all, you're seriously lucky as far as I'm concerned.
This has already been discussed in other threads. It is a really rotten series of bugs - I hope they're embarrased enough to get a fix out soon (ie before the 2012 release).
I mean, who cares about professional features when you can't use titles?

  • Indesign CS5 ne crée plus de fichier "AdobeFnt13.lst"

    Bonjour,

I have several large files in my music library that I listen to. • HD Import Problems

I recently purchased a Canon HV 20 HD Camcorder. Picture quality and playback from the camera is excellent. However I have had a few problems following import of HD footage to my computer with IMovie 06 HD. Most of the footage is fine, however a few scenes get very choppy and do not run smoothly (compared to direct playback from the camera). Also some scenes have distorted sound, it sounds like the speech is lowed down. I have all the latest updates installed for IMovie.
    Anyone else had similar problems?

Hi Tim and others on this thread.
Having raised a few hares, I felt duty bound to take another look at this problem.
I dug out a master tape of my last 1080i HD project and which contained two clips with distorted sound. They were the last two clips of a 60 minute recording on a 63 minute tape and were, respectively, 13.5" and 47" long. They played fine in the camcorder and I have now discounted the camcorder and tape as a possible cause of the problem, following further testing in iMovie 6.
I connected the camcorder to main power, then connected it via Firewire to the iMac, switched the camcorder to Play/Edit, and then opened a new imovie project(1080i PAL). I imported the last 4 minutes of the tape including the problem clips. The clips imported at half speed which is normal for my 1.8GHz CPU and shortly after I was able to preview in real time.
The two problem clips still had distorted sound and the preceding two clips had no problem when reviewed in the Clips pane preview.
I then highlighted the problem clips and dragged them simultaneously into the Timeline. The sound problem disappeared-they both played fine. I dragged them back to the clips pane and the problem reappeared.
I then tried dragging them back to the Timeline and that seemed too much for iMovie 6. Sometimes a clip would work, then only one clip, then I lost sound altogether on the second clip, etc. Once you go beyond a certain point iMovie 6 will just become impossible.
Quitting iMovie and then reopening the project got one clip to work temporarily but clearly is not a solution.
Apple`s suggestions to conserve power when in HD by turning off Show Audio Waveform in View did nothing and neither did their other suggestion of deselecting Keep Playhead Centred in Playback Preferences. Neither did their suggestion to Repair Permissions. I had already tried their other suggestions of defragmenting my drive and there is now little more I can do to improve the performance of my computer.
What did get me back on track was to close iMovie>ditch the iMovie preferences plist(Home>Library>Preferences)>re-open iMovie. The other thing that worked was your idea Tim of extracting the audio of both clips, and in fact this seemed to be the most lasting solution. However, starting with dragging both clips from Clips Pane to Timeline might prove better than either-I still do not know whether dragging them together was what what did the trick. Of course, it might be necessary to do all three if problems persist.
Because I had confused iMovie with all this messing around, I ran DiskWarrior to tidy things up. No major problems were reported but this application does not report all the corrections it makes. Thus it sorted out a previous problem I experienced with iMovie 6 when trying to use purchased music but I have no idea what changes it made.
My revised conclusion is that we may all need a lot more power in the CPU when editing high definition in iMovie 6. For example, the new 24" iMac G5 has the equivalent of double the power of my current iMac.
David Babsy, a frequent contributor to these forums often mentions that most of his problems disappeared with a more powerful computer. You only have to see how things dramatically slow down in iMovie 6 when reaching the end of a big high definition movie edit to appreciate the need for more power.
Obviously we still need extra RAM and also a big hard drive to cope with the vastly bigger files that HD needs.
But power, memory and storage are, I now think, not the full answer. There is a bug or a series of bugs still to be resolved in iMovie 6 if it is to be truly stable. I include importing problems with HD in that list.
I still think iMovie 6 is fantastic, even on my underpowered iMac.
Apologies for previously confusing the issue with camcorder/tape issues.
The problem clips are still working in iMovie as I post this.

  • Itunes incredibly slow

I changed my laptop and I downloaded Itunes 8.0. It takes very very long to open it (I even wonder if shortcuts work) and it takes even longer to Itunes to recognize my Ipod. It works... but so long. It was not the case with my previous laptop. What can I do? Thanks. I am really in trouble...

This is also happening to me... tried re-installing iTunes. Initially it seemed better but after two days I can say that nothing has changed. The "killer colour ball" keeps appearing everytime I try to modify something, specially - but not exclusively - on the "album view" grid. Takes forever to import music or even change a "genre" for a single song!
Hope they fix it soon. As I've posted elsewhere... these kind of things simply didin't happened before! I don't know what is going on with Apple. Also iOS 7 has a series of bugs related to the screen being fixed on a determined position.
"bugs", "bugs"... I've been a mac user since 2008 and never had these kind of problems before.

  • Network adapter speed for CIMC?

Im having some issues with data being feed into a CIMC server.. (COBRAS import, mass amounts of SMTP connections, etc) I noticed the prior engineer set the network speed on the CIMC virtual server connected to a 3750G switch to 1000 Full.  Should this be set to Auto on both ends or is 1000 Full the recommended setting?   My expierence in the past with UC products is to set anyting for 1000 to Auto and let it run on its own.  If its 100, then 100 full.
    Thoughts?
    Thanks!

There is a bug with the negociation speed of the CIMC on C-Series. Bug ID CSCtj80604.
For now it's recommended to lock it to 1000.

  • Avatron Air Display?

I downloaded avatron air display to my iPad 2. the web site said the driver would have an issue with my late 2009 iMac 21.5 in. and it said that apple would fix it. its been more then a month. and nothing.. when will they fix it?

Hi. Avatron rep here. Just to clarify, Apple's not blaming us. I mean, it's possible that their Support folks are but those guys just read what's on the script. And official Apple policy is that employees can never publicly admit that there is a bug in any of its products until the fix is already available. So while they aren't blaming us, they also can't admit that there are driver bugs in Lion. Fortunately, since we're no longer Apple employees, we can speak up!
We filed a series of bugs at bugreport.apple.com, and they were all assigned to engineering. One of the four bugs we filed has been fixed. The other three are still open. Including, maybe, the one for your iMac, unfortunately. But it's not entirely clear. The late 2009 21.5" iMac comes in two flavors: some have the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M, and some the ATI Radeon HD 4670. If you have the latter, you are in luck. We don't know of any issues with Lion and Air Display with the Radeon chipset.
You can check which one you have by looking in About My Mac > More Info. Next to "Graphics" it should say which chipset you have. If you have the Radeon, go ahead and install the Air Display drivers.
    Hope this helps,
    Dave
Edited: I had said you have a 21'5" iMac. That would be HUGE! Fixed that. :-)
