Server Admin iCal Overview shows info as "Not Available"

Next to each topic (Accounts, Calendars, Groups, Locations, Resources, Events & Todo Lists) Server Admin displays "Not Available". The iCal server is running and users are interacting with it OK. The disk usage is 0.0B, there are about 10,000 events.
Since this happened there have been problems accessing calendars via the web (hardly used so not sure what others are seeing).
I've checked & fixed the POSIX permissions for the /Library/CalendarServer hierarchy. I tried deleting the .db.sqlite files & letting iCal repopulate them.
All the settings are intact and haven't changed. The logs show no culprit entries, just the usual. /etc/caldavd/caldavd.plist does not appear to be corrupted.
Ideas?

A hard drive started having RAID errors around 5/1, so the server is being rebuilt from scratch.
I'm still curious if anyone knows the how & why of this issue.

    In server admin, under the settings and available updates, I see a list of available updates, but they are labelled with the hash code for the update, not the name, and the info panel doesn't show any information like it should. We have our corporate firewall configured to allow connections to the server apple uses for this service so that we can get the updates. Any suggestions?

    That option is only available after upgrading to iOS 5. It appears you have a 2nd generation unit, which can not be upgraded beyond iOS 4.2.1.

  • Server admin doesn't display info

    I'm experiencing slow network logons for our 10.6.8 Mac Mini server (circa 2009). 
    I can't get server admin to display any info - the fields are blank - both logged on locally and remotely. 
    I looked in some logs, but don't know which ones are useful as a starting point for this issue.
    Can you help point me in the right direction?

    Do you get any errors or indications that changes are required when issuing the following (non-destructive, informational) Terminal.app command?
    sudo changeip -checkhostname
    Is the domain a real and registered domain, or is it a ".local" domain?
    Is the configured server at a static IP address?  (Either a static address on a private LAN, or a public static address.)
    Is there exactly one DNS server or one pool of DNS servers, and is that DNS server or pool local?  (Are there any references to other non-local-LAN DNS servers?)
    Logs?  Assuming the server isn't all that busy when you test, launch Console.app, start your connection test with the Server Tools, and look at the aggregate log display for errors.  (If it's busier box and can't be quiesced for testing, then yes, you can have to drill down into individual logs, or grep -R the /var/log directory for server or such...)  But without knowing what (else) is wrong, it's difficult to predict.

  • Server Admin - iCal service not showing?

    I've got iCal enabled (and it's running) but the service doesn't show up on the Server Admin. I need it so I can configure the service. Any idea why it wouldn't show up in here? Thanks!

    If I follow your question correctly, you are using Server Admin.app.
    Apple moved the iCal GUI into the Server.app.
    They split up the services into two control apps for now from what used to be one.  Maybe in time they will be consolidated again...

  • Server Admin doesn't show Print Queue status

    When I look at my print queues (all 17) under Server Admin, it shows queue name, # of jobs, shared via (IPP & SMB), and printer kind (HP LJ 1022n and HP LJ P2015). It has a column for status, but this is always 100% empty/blank. Also, if I go to the Jobs tab, then I can pick "Jobs on Queue" for all the queues, but the line below for "Queue Status" is again always blank.
    Is there something I can do to get this info to show up in Server Admin? I know that CUPS knows the printer status, as I can go to localhost:631 and see the status in the Printers list and the Jobs list.
    It isn't life threatening. It is just annoying to have to go to the web page when Server Admin -almost- gets me everything I need to diagnose a teacher's printing problem remotely.

    You could always consult the Print Service logs. If you set the logging levels to Debug or Debug2 you should get everything. You have to be a bit careful with this as the log can get quite large. Other than that I don’t know of anything that is available out of the box.
    There may be others that can suggest a 3rd party solution that gives you the appropriate feedback you are looking for. Opening port 631 should not be that much of risk I would have thought?

    have you installed the server using evluation edition.then you can convert it using dism.exe

  • Server Admin - File Sharing - Show "invisibles"

    Leopard Server, v10.5.7 - Server Admin, File Sharing: Would like to be able to see system directories (such as /var, /bin, /private) in the Volumes::Browse window. I find it odd that "mach_kernel.ctfsys" =is= visible but other system files and folders are not. Is there any way to increase the verbosity of the Volumes::Browse window?

  • Office 2013 and SharePoint 2013 server properties - The required term set is not available.

    Hi,
    After creating new document from ribbon with the new document function on any template the managed metadata based server properties cannot be selected and properties boxes are grayed out. Mouse over displays "The Required term set is not available".
    Works fine when using it form resource (SharePoint) domain both with user domain and resource domain accounts.
    There is a two-way trust btw domains.
    SPNs are done for AppPools.
    AppPool accounts have delegations and are set to impersonate with GPO.
    SharePoint Web Application is on kerberos authentication.
    There is no difference when sites are using user or resource domain AppPool accounts.
    The WFE and SQL Server have computer delegations.
    Server env: Windows Server 2008 R2 with all updates, SQL Server 2008 R2 with all updates, on-prem SharePoint Server 2013 with no CU.
    User env: Windows 7 ENT, IE10 and Office 2013 with all updates.
    There is no internet connection and internet connection is not possible. The internet connection is cheated with two DNS A record setting for
    www.msftncsi.com and dns.msftncsi.com. Also registry changes "ActiveDnsProbeContent" ip- address for Win7 is done via GPO to private IP. This is done because otherwise check-in/check-out does not work.
    Last things on IIS log are:

    Same problem here!. Giving the computer network access allows the control to be populated. Then I disabled and restarted and it seems to be ok....

    on my desktop my login window has a red radio button and a tag that says 'network accounts not available'
    Anyone know what this means?

    It thinks it's supposed to be booting from a Server, have you ever used that?
    Might you have pressed Option+n?

  • "show in store" not available within Match

    I just noticed that on my work computer which is strictly music in the cloud, when in album view the "show in store" feature in not available. Seems a little odd. All the music is in the cloud and iTunes can see all the meta data and show it in the library, what cant that feature be used? Would be nice to rediscovery something in your library while away from your locally stored music, and purchase new or complete album. You can do it while listening to iTunes Radio and that music is not local.
    Am I missing something I need to turn on?

    Ok, Sorry for anyone looking at this and wondering what happened, I just never had the time to type this. Anyways I found out the way to change the catalog ID on the file is to get a program like mp3tag or meta X that can alter it. Then to find the id you skimpily use google or some other search and type the name of the movie for example Frozen and type iTunes after it. The first page that shows up should be a page with the movie on it. When you click on it look to the link and where it says ID followed by numbers is the catalog ID. The trick is to use a web browser to find the ID and not ITunes.

  • ICal Calendar Get Info Window not appearing

    I'm trying to change the color of a calendar in iCal. The calendar is syncing to an Exchange server.
    I click the Calendars button in the upper left corner of the iCal window, then right click on the calendar. From the contextual menu, I choose "Get Info." The command blinks in response, but no Info window appears. The Get Info window appears for other calendars (e.g., Google Calendar syncing via CalDAV). The Get Info window appears for individual events on this calendar, but not for the calendar as a whole.
    Since I'm only trying to change the color as it's displayed in iCal on my Mac, I don't see why this calendar refuses to show its Info window.
    I've tried unchecking and rechecking the calendar from the list of visible calendars. I've tried unchecking all calendars but this one.
    I've tried removing the .plist files for iCal from my ~/Library/Preferences/ folder to no avail.
    I've tried removing the account from iCal and re-adding it, also to no avail.
    Any ideas?

    Well done, Ian! Nice solution to changing the colors. I played around with this a bit and found a way to choose the color from the color wheel by changing the code just slightly.
    tell application "iCal"
              set color of calendar "Calendar" to choose color default color {0, 0, 0}
    end tell
    You have to switch views or calendars and then click on an event in the calendar whose color you just changed to see the new color. Which leads to this slightly more automated solution:

           switch view to month view
           switch view to week view
           switch view to day view

    end tell
    The switch view statements just ensure that the update becomes visible. (I've not been able to see how to get iCal to tell me what the current view is when the script runs so the script can switch back to it)
    Still, the Get Info window should still appear when you select it from the context menu.

  • Can't sync iPad after iOS upgrade to7.0.2 - repeated authorisation prompt - using admin profile, file SC info does not exist

    After I upgraded to iOS 7.0.2 I can't sync iPad mini with PC (on Windows XP). I keep getting the folowing message: "The iPad could not be synced because this computer is no longer authorized for purchase items on this iPad". I tried everything:
    1) De-authorizing and rebooting (about 100 times);
    2) De-installing and reinstalling itunes;
    3) Deactivating the firewall;
    4) Run Diagnostics (result - all works fine including sync);
    5) Tried to look for the "SC info" directory or file everyone is referring to in the Computer (Hidden files) of the iTunes directory - nothing;
    6) Ticking and unticking the |Sync over Wi-Fi" option;
    7) Changing backup from iCloud to this Computer and back.
    I am using the admin account on my PC - doesn't help.
    I cannot sync anything at all.
    BTW - on the PC and on the iPad - everything that is there plays OK. I can get stuff from iStore both from iPad and from the PC - but I can't sync the two.
    It looks like an iOS 7 bug to me - any ideas or advice?

    No I have tried multiple connections, at home, at work, and even at my church but to no avail.  For example I have recently purchased a CD from Itunes using my computer, but my ipad will only play it from the cloud.  I've tried to download straight from my Ipad and that too does not work.  When ever I try to plug the Ipad into the computer a window pops up and says that the sync has failed.  If I try to drag the file to the Ipad it will say it's loading than just quit before it transfers.  hmmm.  I hope they get this bug fixed some.  would really like to have that CD to isten to on the go.   Another issue I am no having is the apps are having trouble updating.  I have tried to turn off auto update and do it manually and that too is failing.

  • ICal subscription showing tasks but not meetings

    I'm using Huddle (http://www.huddle.net) to manage my projects and teams and have successfully been syncing the calendar items I have there with my desktop iCal using a wecal:// calendar subscription url.
    However, since upgrading to Snow Leopard and iCal 4.0 this feed still syncs tasks, but not meetings. No error messages are given, the meetings just aren't there.
    Any ideas? Surely the ical spec hasn't changed and this is a Snow Leopard issue?
    To confirm this I tested it on my Mac Mini which still has Leopard - and it works fine there.

    I have the same issue with syncing subscription calendars. Just popped up when trying to sync my kids' sports calendars. OK with iCal, but nothing comes into calendars on MM or iPhone.

  • Show focus points not available

    My pictures used to all have the option of showing the focus points in Aperture. I would click on the icon for focus points to toggle it on and off.
    Starting last year the icon for the focus points is not even there under the Info tab (same camera and lenses). i just received a new camera body but same lenses.
    Pictures still do not have the icon for Focus Points. Going to the menu and choosing "show focus points" does no good because the icon is not there (but the icon for jpeg/raw, metering, and wb are there). if i go to some old pictures the icon is there for the old pictures.
    i re-downloaded the program, trashed the preference files, etc.
    Camera- Canon 40D, Canon 7D mii. Lenses CAnon 17-55 f/2.8 and Canon 70-200 f/4, non IS.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    I just checked one of my photos in Aperture for you..... it is the only reason I've kept aperture to be honest! Mine still works on my raw photo which is from a 5dmiii. I'm in the process tho of moving all my photos to external hard drives and only keeping current photos on laptop due to storage issues. I'm also switching to Bridge, ACR and PSCC. But when I open projects from Aperture off of hard drive I get a message that says I need to upgrade library and opens in Aperture. I don't want to be bound to Aperture anymore. What if I don't have Aperture on next Mac? So not how do I get my photos unhostaged? Sorry about rant.... just very frustrated if I have to go through some long drawn out process to get this straightened out.
