ServerLockManager required modules?

1. What are the minimum required modules to run a dedicated instance for your ServerLockManager?
2. Does a dedicated ServerLockManager instance actually need to be assembled and started with your custom modules? Even if you have custom repository changes, does the ServerLockManager need those custom repository definitions?
I couldn't find any documentation explaining if the ServerLockManager actually communicates with the underlining database for the repositories items it's locking. It doesn't seem like it would need to communicate with the underlining database. If that is the case, then it seems like you could configure your dedicated ServerLockManager with only the essential modules and configurations it needs to run. By doing this it would simplify your deployment process. Meaning if your ServerLockManager doesn't contain any custom modules, then you would never need to bring it down during deployments. Am I way off base here?

There are no pitfalls of using it. We have configured this way in a cluster of 120 servers and it worked great.
Most of the clients deploy the same ear as Customer Facing server and would add this server as regular deployment plan to deploy code and restart server.

  • Plugin requires module?

    Was going to try this plugin I ran across here:
    http://code.google.com/p/geotag-lightroom-plugin/
    Anyhow, it suggests that in install there should be a 'module' folder but
    when I browse to mine (yes... right location), I don't see this folder. Am I
    supposed to create one if not there as I had to initially do with 'web
    galleries' folder? Am I missing something here?
    Thanks for your assistance on this!

    Yes create one and install the plugin in that! If it had an installer, it would probably create one!

  • HP Quality Center - Version 11 - Requirement Module View Filtering

    Hello,
    Is there a way to set a filter view to apply to all users based on the User Name/ID and requirement status? I would like to set the requirement view to only display active requirements assigned to the user signed on.  It would be great if I can set up the filter or add code under the script editor where it will display automatically or can be added as a public favorite that anyone can use.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

  • File adapter custom module problem

    Dear All,
    Currently my file adapter is picking up a flat file and I have writeen a module which will remove junk characters from the start of the file...I have also used FCC to convert the flat file to xml.
    now my question is what is the sequence...
    1. is it that my FCC will convert the flat to xml first and then the module will get xml as input
    2. or is it that module will get the flat file as input , it will perform the maipultaions and then my FCC will be called to convert it to xml
    Actually after running the scenraio what we can see in the audit log is
    1.flat file converted ok and then
    2.processing module
    My requirement : module should get a flat file as input and then that module will remove junk char..after this standard FCC should convert it to XML

    1. is it that my FCC will convert the flat to xml first and then the module will get xml as input
    first FCC will get executed then MODULE
    My requirement : module should get a flat file as input and then that module will remove junk char..after this standard FCC should convert it to XML
    Dont use FCC just read .txt file after removing junk character buid the XML file using DOM parser in the MODULE itself.

  • [Solved] Missing iptables modules

    In an attempt to secure my Arch machine, I've discovered that I am missing several iptables modules that are "supposed" to be there.
    Here is the list of available modules.
    $ sudo cat /proc/net/ip_tables_matches
    udplite
    udp
    tcp
    icmp
    As a major n00b in the iptables (and networking), this was the first place I've looked.
    Kernel: 3.19.2-1-ck
    Iptables: v1.4.21
    I can find more information if needed.
    Last edited by Jakkin (2015-03-23 03:07:44)

    iptables will load all required modules dynamically. I think in /proc/net/ip_tables_matches are only the currently required modules:
    # cat /proc/net/ip_tables_matches
    icmp
    # iptables -nvL
    Chain INPUT (policy ACCEPT 24 packets, 14898 bytes)
    pkts bytes target prot opt in out source destination
    Chain FORWARD (policy ACCEPT 0 packets, 0 bytes)
    pkts bytes target prot opt in out source destination
    Chain OUTPUT (policy ACCEPT 21 packets, 3257 bytes)
    pkts bytes target prot opt in out source destination
    # iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 17500 -j REJECT --reject-with icmp-port-unreachable
    # iptables-save > /etc/iptables/iptables.rules

  • Installing XML::Simple Perl module on 10.4.8

    Two of my friends today asked me to help them get XML::Simple working on their Mac's. Somthing that should be a simple cpan one-liner "install XML::Simple" doesnt work on OSX. It took me a half hour to figure all this out... here are the steps:
    Prerequisites:
    - X11 1.1.3 package from the OSX install disk (or Apple download site)
    - Perl 5.8.x w/cpan (default on OSX)
    - a terminal
    - A reasonable working knowledge of Perl and Unix
    Step 1:
    Open terminal, type 'cpan' to enter the cpan installer.
    cpan> install XML::Simple
    It will ask you three times if you want to follow the prerequired modules. Hit enter every time. Eventually you will get a dozen test failures. These are in XML::Parser, a required module.
    Step 2:
    cpan> exit
    $ cd ~/.cpan/build/XML-Parser-2.34 **Note the version may change
    $ perl Makefile.PL EXPATLIBPATH=/usr/X11R6/lib EXPATINCPATH=/usr/X11R6/include
    $ make test
    $ make install
    Step 3:
    Back to cpan...
    $ cpan
    cpan> install XML::Parser
    Already Installed
    cpan> install XML::Parser::Expat
    Already Installed
    cpan> install XML::SAX::Expat
    Installs with some silly warning about ParserDetails.ini. Lets fix that.
    cpan> exit
    Step 4:
    Here is the command/code to add Expat to the ParserDetails.ini file. If we don't, we can't proceed past this point.
    $ sudo perl -MXML::SAX -e "XML::SAX->addparser(q(XML::SAX::Expat))->saveparsers()"
    Step 5:
    Back to cpan to finish the install
    $ cpan
    cpan> install XML::Simple
    Hit enter if it asks you anyting. The whole thing should work.
    cpan> exit
    Step 6:
    Verify XML::Simple existance with:
    $ perl -MXML::Simple -e '1;'
    If you don't get an error, you're all done!
    Enjoy.

    A user must have a role "User" in AD.
    That's all.
    Thanks.

  • FM/RFC to assign specialisation of module group to a student

    Hi,
    I am trying with FM:HRIQ_SPECIALIZATION_INSERT_RFC to assign specialisation of module group to a student, when i pass Student Id, Object ID of Study Object (CS),Program ID,Module groupId, Module Group Category, am getting error "Combination of academic specializations is not allowed".
    what could be the issue? pls suggest.
    Thanks & Regards
    Khaleed

    Dear Khaleed,
    Please (check) make sure you conducted all of customizing steps in relation to the SC, CG and allowed combinations of specialisations in the progam catalog
    Before you can offer specializations, you must perform the following preparatory steps:
    1. Set up module group variant/category combinations (both in IMG steps and PIQ_ACSTRUC)
    2. Define the relevant module group categories as a u201Cspecializationu201D (by setting the flag in the customizing table).
    3. Assign a module group variant to the program of study (Program data tab page of the object SC).
    4. Link module groups to the program of study which reflects the required module group categories.
    When you have performed the above steps, you can maintain the allowed combinations of module groups in the SLCM Menu -> `Environment` u2192 Maintain acad. specializations in the `program catalog` (=PIQ_ACSTRUC)
    This function allows you to define the rules for valid and invalid specialization combinations for each of your programs of study. For example, you may have a B.A. program that requires students to select a major and a minor: With this function, you can explicitly define the major/minor combinations that are not permitted (e.g. Math Major and Math Minor).
    Note: You do not have to explicitly define all allowed combinations.

  • HR modules for ESS

    Hi,
    I am looking for information regarding HR modules required for ESS Applications. For example, for Who's Who application HR module PA & OM will be needed. Similarly, what are the required modules for other applications? Is there any document/note containing this information?

  • Help needed with perl Image::Magick module

    I don't know if this is the right place to post this (it might belong in the Newbie corner instead), but I'll give it a try.
    I need an Image::Magick Perl module (and a load of other modules, which I have found) for a program I desperately need. Now, the only thing I know about Perl is that v. 6 is supposed to be coming out soon - apart from that, I'm blank. The installation is giving me some problems.
    The installation guide is somewhat ambiguous. It says:
    Next, edit Makefile.PL and change LIBS and INC to include the appropriate path information to the required libMagick library. You will also need paths to JPEG, PNG, TIFF, etc. delegates if they were included with your installed version of ImageMagick.
    In the Makefile.PL which comes with the package, these two are defined:
    'INC' => '-I../ -I.. -I/usr/include/freetype2 -I/usr/X11R6/include -I/usr/X11R6/include/X11 -I/usr/include/libxml2',
    'LIBS' => ['-L/usr/lib -lMagick -L/usr/X11R6/lib64 -L/usr/lib -ltiff -ljpeg -lpng -ldpstk -ldps -lXext -lXt -lSM -lICE -lX11 -lbz2 -lxml2 -lpthread -lm -lpthread'],
    I haven't changed anything in them, because I haven't got the slightest idea what to change and to what. When I run the installation procedure ('perl Makefile.PL', 'make', and 'make test'), I get an error message during the test (but not before that). Here's the entire output from 'make test':
    /bin/sh ../magick.sh PERL_DL_NONLAZY=1 /usr/bin/perl "-MExtUtils::Command::MM" "-e" "test_harness(0, 'blib/lib', 'blib/arch')" t/*.t t/bzlib/*.t t/jng/*.t t/jpeg/*.t t/mpeg/*.t t/png/*.t t/ps/*.t t/tiff/*.t t/x/*.t t/xfig/*.t
    /bin/sh: ../magick.sh: No such file or directory
    make: *** [test_dynamic] Error 127
    There is mention somewhere that one might compile the module together with ImageMagick or with Perl, but I don't think I'm ready for that...
    Is there anyone skilled in Perl who can tell me what it is that I'm doing wrong, alternatively make a package file...?

    I've found two other packages that I needed in AUR, but when I run the make test for the program that I need (fontlinge), it still complains that it can't find the Image::Magick module. I already have the imagemagick package installed, though, that's why I thought I'd have to install and compile the perl module separately.
    Here's the output from the 'make test' for fontlinge:
    make -C modules
    make[1]: Entering directory `/home/eyolf/temp/src/fontlinge-2.0.1/modules'
    make[2]: Entering directory `/home/eyolf/temp/src/fontlinge-2.0.1/modules/fontlinge'
    make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/eyolf/temp/src/fontlinge-2.0.1/modules/fontlinge'
    make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/eyolf/temp/src/fontlinge-2.0.1/modules'
    ./misc/check_for_modules.pl --skip-fontlinge-module
    Ok. Cwd 'abs_path'
    Ok. DBI
    Ok. User::pwent
    Missing Image::Magick
    Ok. Getopt::Long
    Ok. DBD::mysql
    Ok. File::Find
    Ok. File::Path
    Ok. ExtUtils::MakeMaker
    Ok. 5.006
    Ok. bytes
    Ok. -utf8
    It seems some required modules are missing.
    How to get missing modules differs from _which_ module you are missing.
    You can get modules like DBI from your distributions CD
    or search the web for a RPM/DEB/...-file. www.cpan.org is always a good adress.
    It may be a good idea to configure your perl-CPAN-Module as ROOT(!!!) by typing
    perl -MCPAN -eshell
    It is VERY important that you do not just 'su' to root but 'su -' on SuSE linux.
    Once you have configured perl, you can install CPAN-modules by
    perl -MCPAN -e 'install MODULENAME'
    Other modules like Image::Magick require you to have the programs installed
    they belong to.
    If you are missing a 'fontlinge'-module, you have not installed this
    program correctly. :-)
    If the missing module begins with a '-' sign this module might miss,
    because it is not possible to DEACTIVATE it, i.e. unwanted utf8 encoding.
    make: *** [test] Error 255
    If this makes sense to anyone, I'd be very happy. (For the record: Fontlinge is - or at least seems to be - the only decent font manager I've found for Linux. This seems to be a gaping, wide open black hole in the Linux world... There's gfontview, opcion, fontpage, and a couple of other minor apps that I've found, but none of them are functional for anything but the most basic operations, and on the whole, there doesn't seem to be much between the KDE font manager - which really makes one wonder how far the KDE people want to go in their emulation of windows... - and the font editor FontForge, which is great as a font editor, but overkill as a viewer, and hardly a manager.)

  • Module Pool SAPZPS01

    Hi Experts,
        I've a module pool program 'SAPZPS01' in SAP 4.7. It's naming convention seems to be different from the common naming convention used.
      I want to create this program in ECC 6.0 but it's asking for Object access key...
    Any help is appreciated...
    Thanks and Regards,
    Rudresh

    Hi,
    naming convention  for module pool is as follows:
    SAP R/3 Requirements:
    Module Pool Screen names must begin with ‘SAPMY’ or ‘SAPMZ’ and can be a maximum of 8 characters long.
    Standard Format:
    Screen module pool names should begin with SAPMZ followed by a 1 character functional descriptor.  The last 3 digits of the name should be a unique alphanumeric identifier.

  • Kernel26-lts hangs at booting modules

    I have kernel26 and kernel26-lts installed.
    Kernel26 works good, but I think I also have this I/O issue:
    #uptime
    [...] load average: 1.29, 1.29, 1.15
    To further test it I wanted to boot up kernel26-lts. But while loading the modules during bootup it just hangs. Hard reboot...
    Tried it with kernel26-lts from extra and testing, makes no difference. Also started with nomodeset acpi=off noapic boot options (and all combinations of it).
    When I started kernel26-lts in verbose mode, I saw a lot of data just fly by without being able to read it. This line repaeted itself a lot though:
    wifi0: Interrupt, but dev not configured
    So, can you give me any tips on what to do to get my kernel26-lts working? Or getting any helpful info for a bug report?

    Thanks for your reply!
    I'm unfortunately not able to read any text from the kernel.log from the lts starting. There's nothing written to the kernel.log...
    As kernel26-2.6.35.x is the first version with KMS working for my ATI card, I also tried disabling it by removing radeon from modules array in rc.conf. That didn't work either...
