Service contract/agreement

HI,
what is the main difference between service contract and service agreement??? when do we use agreement??/ give me full explanation pls???
Thanks in advance...
bajee

Hi,
Service Contracts:
Service contracts are outline agreements with business partners which define services offered for a particular period. Service contracts represent long-term service agreements with customers in relation to the content and scope of services guaranteed within specific tolerance limits for certain parameters, for example, within a predefined timeframe.
You can either create a service contract directly, or as a follow-up transaction for a service agreement, a service contract quotation, or a service contract template.
Service Agreements:
Business partners define conditions, such as prices, and releasable products in long-term outline agreements. These conditions and products are valid for all service contracts or service orders that are created with reference to the service agreement.
Unlike service contracts (value/quantity), service agreements contain no target values or target quantities.

  • Issue in using custom discount condition type in pricing agreement at Service Contract line item level

    Hello
We are facing an issue while using a Z discount condition type in price agreement at service contract line item level.
A Z Condition type has been created in ECC and assigned to the pricing procedure. This pricing procedure is downloaded in CRM and determined in the service contract.
A condition maintenance group using this Z condition type is created in CRM and assigned to service contract item category.
Condition records are created in CRM for this condition type/condition maintenance group for specific products along with sales org and discount percentage.
But when the price agreement(using this condition type) is used at the item level of a service contract, the system throws errors (related to product/unit of measure and sales org, even though no issues seem to be there)and thus the price agreement is not allowed to be used.
If anyone has worked on such kind of scenario, please get in touch, I will share more details for the same.
    Regards
    Ankit Arora

    Dear Ankit,
Once the pricing procedure is downloaded, please maintain the document pricing procedure at service contract header level, and maintain the customer pricing procedure at business partner sales area billing data.
In spro, maintain the pricing procedure for the combination of sales area, document pricing procedure, customer pricing procedure.
Please crosscheck whether the condition table is active or not.

  • Service Contract and Repair procedure

    Hi,
I am struggling with a Service mgmt issue.
There is a service contract in which we maintain the terms and conditions of service (bill plan) and also give the rates for service.
Now when i run a repair at plant scenario wherein i bring back the defective matr. for repairs, the service notification is connecting to that contract and takes the contract number.
What is fail to understand is that how do the contract terms and conditions affect the repair process.
The process i am following is as follows:
1)Created a contract for the C/s and material to give service for one year and the customer paid one time for that through billing the Contract type WV.
    2) For the repairs, i did the following
Service notification - repair Order - return delivery of defective matr to service center - Service order creation - carrying the repair (added a spare part also) and technically completed the order - Delivery of repaired matr to customer - Resource related billing request creation (DP90) - Billing the repair order - Settlimg the Service order - Settling the Repair order.
In all this process, i do not find any link between the Contract and repair cycle. Ideally since the customer has paid for the service one time, we should only charge for whatever spare parts are used.
Hope I have been able to explain it. looking forward to any help on this issue
    Thanks
    Arijeet

    HI Arijeet,
conditions and the price agreements for the service material and materials will be picked from the service contract into the repair order.
    regards
    Ravi.

  • Service Contract to Sales Order?

    Dear SAP Guru,
Can I create Sales Order from Service Contract and bill the order without going thru Resource Related Billing? MV -> OR -> F2?
Or, straight from MV to FV?
What is the correct process flow?
    Thanks,
    Soo

Yes. you can very well refer a service contract to a sales order and bill the same. But, see that your sales order items are relevant for billing (in case you have service products as contract items).
Resource related billing should be used when you are billing your customer w.r.t a service order.
There isn't a fixed process flow. Have this thumb rule:
    1. When you have fixed price for type of repair you have agreed in contract, then there is no use of doing resource related billing, if the same kind of repair is being performed.
    2. In case your customer pays you on time & material basis, go through the RRB route to bill.
    Hi Ananth,
    Thanks for your reply.
For my scenario, it is based on time & material for a rental material. The sales order is created based on the number of days used by the customer for a rental material and billing is generated.
So, if RRB is used, that will mean a DIP profile has to be set up.
    Question:
If RRB is used, what will be the process flow? From CS module, a service order is created from the sales contract and in the DIP profile, there is a default order type which is "LV" and DMR will be generated and eventually, a debit memo is created.
What about sales order? Any DMR being generated? Or what is the flow?
    Thanks,
    Soo

  • Service level agreement

what is meant by service level agreement in sap... i searched a lot but couldn't understand that...can any one explain clearly about this service level agreement..

    Hi,
Service Level Agreements (SLAs), you work with customers to stipulate the form that the performance of a guaranteed service takes.
The SLAs define the attributes (such as content, scope and means) for the service products (for example, maintenance, Hotline) agreed on with the customer in the service contract. Different parameters, such as response time or availability time, confirm a SLA.
Examples of parameters within a SLA:
    ·         Response time (technician on site within a specified time)
    ·         Operating time/availability time (working time of the service or support center)
    ·         Downtime (maximum number of breakdowns per year)
    ·         Availability (assured system availability in %)
    ·         Solution time (maximum period of time allowed for the solution of a problems

  • Service Contract Determination - Multiple sold-to-parties

    Hello Gurus,
Can anyone help me on understanding this:
We know that in standard configuration, the sold-to party in the service contract and in the business transaction must be identical.
But It is possible to change someting so that we can assign a service contract to multiple sold-to-parties?
There must be a workaround to do this. Does anyone tried it?
    Thanks and regards,
    Bruno Garcia

    Hello Ashwin,
We're using IC Webclient at our customer Call center. We register all contacts made in Interaction Record document, and all service requests in Service Ticket Document.
What we're trying is to define the same SLA agreement for all sold-to-parties partners. We did all configurations relationated with service profile, response profile, product and service contract.
However, SLA calculation only works if the sold-to-party partner of service ticket is the same that in the service contract. So that's why we put this question here.
We already tried to use CRM_SERVICE_CONTRACT and CRM_SRV_SLA_CALCTIME BAdI's, but no luck: they also seem to depend on this verification.
What we're trying to do is to skip this verification. We need to calculate the SLA for all service ticket, no matter what sold-to-party partner is.
Do you think this is achievable?
    Thanks in advance,
    Best regards

  • Problem in service contract determination using spare part items

    Hi experts
I created a service contract with spare parts in product list, and discont for those spare parts in price agreement. The spare parts item category group is SRVM.
If I then create a serice order and add the spare part as the item of the transaction, depends on item category I put in for the spare part, contract determination may or may not happen. If I put SRVP ( service product) as item category then the contract determin will happen. But SRVP is not allowed for the spare part product. If  I use SRVM as item category, then the contract determination will not happen at all.
    The questions are
Can contract determination be triggered by item category SRVM? If yes, what do I have to do to make it happen?  If no, what item category can I use for spare parts to trigger the contract determination?
    Your help is highly appreciated.

  • Auto-triggering of PM Planning from service contract

    Greetings!
I am currently working to automatically trigger preventive maintenance service order from service contracts. However, I have been struggling to understand some of the dates and the date rules, and how they work?
    The dates are:
                                                        Rule Name
    a) Planning start date:                  Today's Date
    b) Planning Date From:                Determine Planned Date
    c) Planning Date To:                    Planned Start + Tolerance
    d) Start of Interval                        Planning Start Date
    e) Service order creation date:     Planned Date - 2 weeks
    f) Tolerance:
Let's say that I would like to have a contract valid from the 13.08.2014 to 13.09.2015, and I want the preventive maintenance service order to be begin from 20.08.2014, with a interval period of every 2 days (may be until 10.09.2015). Then how should I fill these dates in the service contract item ?
I would be glad if someone explained it to me. If you have a better example, I would also appreciate that.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
When you are using Contract is a Outline agreement -That may be Quantity or Value contract this for specific period.
Example you can maitain various Service line items for entire Periods as per the Contract details with Vendor.
when you want to create Release order w.r.t Contract for a specific work or only for Specific Services
whatever you want to required service for that release order that only system will ask us to select the services just like while creating Service entry sheets how we adopt the required services lines for accepting.
we need to select the Services from the contracts by manually while creating Release order
    System will not copy automatically.
If you have more than 100 service lne items in Contract If you want to create release order only for 10 service line items then unnecessarly 100 line items will copies.T o overcome this problems SAP will allow to select the  service manuall for adopting to release order from contract
I think you are clear with the statement.

  • Service Level Agreements or Memo

    Hi,
Is there a way I can store service level agreements or a memo field for each client? Trying to keep my field guys posted on what is with in scope of the contract when onsite.
This topic first appeared in the Spiceworks Community

    Hey heatherfoeh!
What a funny thing you ask because velocity has been on my mind recently. Just this past month, I wrote two blogs (here and here) on the topic of velocity and the last one I am going to write is about "How to measure it". So this question is perfect.
Here is how we do it at ReadyTalk.
    1. We first define all of our transitions within the technology. Meaning which field is being flipped to signify a transition has occurred We capture this on several different records as the lead works its way through the system.
On the lead record, we capture created date, first contact attempt, contact made, converted date. We do this by date stamping the relevant field each time the lead goes through a transition. Below you see our lead status. Each time this field is flipped, there is a corresponding hidden field that is stamped. The use of these fields allows us to then create reports in SFDC using a formula that calculates the number of days between two dates.
On the opp records we have the same process but this time we are tracking the velocity through the pipeline. So we go from SAL>SQO>CW or CL. Each time the opp stage is flipped a corresponding date stamp is made. And, like above, you run formulas on this field to calculate # of days between two dates.
Now in terms of adherence to an SLA, you obviously have dashboards that you roll this up to in the form of average time between stages. You can also segment on velocity be owner (to see which AEs are "johnny on the spot" with their leads) or you can do velocity by lead source. You can also create workflow that throws alerts when a lead/opp has sat at one stage for two long.

  • Service Contract -  Zero net price

    Dear All,
I have a service contract. it has a line item mainitining one service with two rates (Two differant prices according to the quantity). When the contrat is pick to the PR, system always pick the price of the first line item where user wants to get the rate of the second line. Could you pls help me to give a solution to the user.
    TKS
    Sujith

    Thank you Purihella,
In our case, your suggestion can not be done, as contract is centrally managed by SCM division and User division has to refer that contract when raising PR. At that time user wants to pick the correct line item to get the agreed price

  • Difference between Service order and service contract

    Service Order:
A service order is a short-term agreement between service provider and service recipient, in which one-time services are ordered by the service recipient and resource-related billing performed upon completion. Such an order could be, for example, to maintain or repair some equipment, making it necessary to send a technician along with spare parts. These services are usually billed.
    Service Contracts:
Service contracts are outline agreements with business partners which define services offered for a particular period. You support service contracts by processing contract-based and planned services.
Service contracts represent long-term service agreements with customers in relation to the content and scope of services guaranteed within specific tolerance limits for certain parameters, for example, within a predefined timeframe.

  • Service Master Agreement Type

    Hi all,
We have an requirement for using the service master agreement type  for one our project.
Can anyone help in undertanding this agreement type.
    Regards,
    Priya

    Hi
Service master agreement type is nothing but agreement with sub agreements. SAP here suggest that you treat service as a sub agreement thereby keeping track of various milestones etc. However in SAP ECC services are not individual contracts rather there is a seperate master data component (service master).
Since there is no integration, decision you need to make is whether you want to treat service as an individual sub agreement or a material in e sourcing as there is no seperate master data component for services in e sourcing. Based on business requirement you can proceed further.

  • VZW holds me to service contract that they can't deliver service on? Nice!

We had to drop our verizon cell phones because there's no service in the rural area (WV) where we relocated. We have a big family plan, happy with it in Boston where we used to live, but my wife's qwerty dumb phone was under 2-yr contract and it doesn't work in rural WV.
In VZW world, we have to pay an early termination fee for a service VZW doesn't provide here. I finally got to a supervisor, and he didn't back down—in fact he stood by the policy, it's not VZW's fault that we moved to an area where they don't operate.  I knew it was over when the conversation went:
"Sir, you agreed to 2 yrs of service."
"I don't have any service to agree to.  Provide me the service and I'll gladly use it for 2 yrs."
"We don't provide service to your area."
"Then release me from the contract."
"Sir, you agreed to 2 yrs of service."
And on and on it went.  Amazing.  It's cheaper to pay the term fee than keep the cell going.  You have to literally die to be released from a contract (even then I'm not so sure—VZW may well chase your heirs).  If my son wasn't early into—wait for it—a 2-yr contract, I'd shut the whole thing down and never have anything to do with verizon again.
Thanks VZW, you just lost a great customer.  Loved the service, hate the attitude. What other company makes you pay for a service that they can't provide?  three little letters: VZW.

    jimcrick
Verizon, nor any big business, is going to take a hit at the fault of the customer. Sprint is the only carrier I've ever seen terminate without an ETF, and that's only after talking to Dan Hesse's secretary and explaining that I would return my virtually flawless device. Not to mention, Sprint is barely operational at this point for these types of policies, and losing money.
Unfortunately, there isn't much you can do.
