    Hi Randeep,
As they said it is service tax GTA.Right we are doing out of SAP, we want it to be done in SAP
The tax calculation will be like below
service tax of 10.3%  has to caluclate on the 25% of the Base amount. Like
25% is taxable and 75% is livied.
    Base Amount - 100.00
    25% of the base amount(100/25) = 25.00
service tax(10.30%) to be calculate on Rs. 25.00
    25*10.30% = 2.57
    Base amount --> 100.00
    Service Tax  -->      2.57
            Total:           102.57

    Siva.

  • Utilization of Cenvat Credit from Service Tax Payable.

    Hi,
Please guide me whether the process i am following is correct or not. And if it is correct, please help with what additional steps i might be required to perform inorder to resolve the issue.
Case: We are a Company where we donot manufacture and sell items. But we do provide services to our customers. Hence we would like to take the Cenvat input credit from the materials that we buy for our requirements and would like to utilize the Service tax that we would have to pay to Government (On our service contracts with customers).
During the process our RG23A Part-I, Part-II, RG23C Part-I, Part-II have been updated properly. Service tax entries for A/P and A/R have been posted successfully. And the next i am trying to do is utilize Service tax credit (AR) with Cenvat credit available from RG23A, and RG23C by using Transaction code: J2iUN.
I am using the option pay Service tax from Cenvat Cr.
    Issue:
When i try to simulate after selecting the utilization from Basic excise duty, education cess and higher education cess i am able to see the entry that i require. But when i try to post the entry system is giving the following error message.
Balancing field " Profit center " in line item 001 not filled. Message ID: GLT2201.
    The simulated entry is:
    Sales tax payable A/c Dr
    Education Cess payable A/c Dr
Secondary Higher Education Cess Payable A/c Dr
Cenvat Basic Excise Duty A/c Cr
    Cenvat Education Cess A/c Cr
Cenvat Hig Sec Education Cess A/c Cr
Our Company code is active for Document Splitting with Profit center as a mandatory field.
    Looking forward.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Purna.

    Dear,
As per your description its look like you have follow standard procedure.
Only thing is that when you do J2IUN, Input Business Area on Selection screen to avoid profit center error.
Let me know if you still getting any error.

  • Service Tax Payable Transfer - Incorrect Amounts

    Dear all
I am facing the following issue while using S_AC0_52000644 - Tax Reports -> General -> Deferred Tax -> Deferred Tax Transfer (New) for transfer of Service Tax(Output) from Interim to Payable accounts -
The accounting entry that is generated at the time of Billing document is as below -
    Customer                        110,300.00
    Domestic Sales                          100,000.00-
Output Service Tax  Interim Basic     10,000.00-
Output Service Tax ECS Interim     200.00-
Output Service Tax H & ECS Interim     100.00-
Hence, ideally the service tax that should be transferred from Interim to Final Payable should be Rs 10000, Rs 200 and Rs 100. However, when i execute the transfer program, the amounts that are getting transferred are not correct, the base amount gets changed. In the present case for e.g for Output Service Tax  Interim Basic, the base amount is displayed as 109,510.22 and the tax amount as 10,142.65.
We are using TAXINJ and have maintained the 2 tax codes i.e deferred and final. The tax rates are maintained at the tax code level in FTXP and the rates are 10%, 2% and 1%.
Any help on this issue will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Hrishi

    Hi:
Please see the OSS  Note 921634 - Service tax India: Transfer from Interim to Final account to rectify the issue. There seems an issue with your routine assignment and activation in VOFM (ask SD Guy). Also check in FTXP if this tax code has more than one line item. If there are then deactivate the one not required.  Another way to avoid this issue is to go to FS00 and in the control tab, select indicator "posting without tax code allowed" ..

  • Service tax value required updating while posting GR in MIGO transaction

    Dear Friends,
We have a following scenario where service tax value required updating while posting Goods Receipt MIGO transaction.
    1. Purchase Order created for first line item where Qty. 1 and Net Rate Rs.1000/- so total Gross value will be Rs.1000/- example Vendor XYZ
    2. Freight condition type maintained for the first line item for Rs.500/- and assigned to Transportation vendor ABC.
    3. When Goods Receipt Posted for the Material against PO first line item, the material value updates Rs.1500/- (Material value as
        per PO + Freight Charges)
    4.  After posting GR while making Invoice verification through MIRO transaction against the PO GR/IR clearance will be done for
Material vendor XYZ. For transportation Vendor ABC Planned delivery cost indicator will be select and since service tax is
applicable Service tax code will also select.
Here the values of Service tax if the Material available in Stock it will be inventories. If stock consumed before making the Invoice verification for Transportation vendor ABC, then the Service tax values update to PRD account.
We know that in PO, tax code can be select for first line item (Raw Material) Vendor XYZ and if transportation charge condition type maintained for same first line item and assigned to Vendor ABC and there is no provision to maintain Service tax. So the service tax will get inventories while posting Invoice Verification for the transportation vendor.
We want the values of Service tax to update while posting Goods Receipt in MIGO transaction.
    Thanks & regards
    Dhanu

    hi,
Please note at the time of MIGO Servecie tax value does not appear, it will appear at the tiem of Invoice only.

  • GOODS TRANSPORT SERVICE TAX

    Hi
    the scenario is
As per Notification No. 35/2004, in relation to the transport services, the onus of collection and payment of service tax has come to the recipient of the services unlike the provider of the services in other cases. Hence organizations are required to collect and deposit the tax with the govt. authority on behalf of the transporters.
here the mapping is to be done in sucha a way that postings must be as follows
    x G/L  freight clearing A/C - Dr
    y G/L  Freight vendor A/C - Cr
    z G/L  Service tax input  ( 12% on 25% of Frieght)  Dr
    a G/L  Ecess tax input ( 2%on 12 %)                    Dr
    b G/L  SHcess input     ( 1% on 2%)                     Dr
    c G/L  Service tax Payable  ( 12% on 25% of Frieght)  Cr
    d G/L  Ecess tax Payable ( 2%on 12 %)                    Cr
    e G/L  SHcess Payable     ( 1% on 2%)                     Cr
I had defined a Tax code with JSTX, JEC5 amd JEC 6
I had assigned the Accont keys VST, VS6, VS7 in the tax proceedure, and G/L accounts Input for each act key in ob40
but how to map the G/L acts payable
i tried to enter the payable amount MIRO, but for the client this is a lengthy way
i have one other way in OB40 ,go to rules iam seeing the debit/credit flag is locked , if iam able to  check the flag  for debit/credit,  i may abl to assign the debit and credit G/L accounts.
If any one had gone through the same config
Hope some one might have mapped this business process.
please help me out how to do it.

  • Service Tax Issue on Transportation

In INDIA when we receive the invoice from transporters we have to calculate the service tax on the 25% of the invoice amount and the TDS as per the rates applicable entry should automatically be like this when we will use the service tax code eg
    Invoice amount is 25000
    Vendor Cr rs 22167
    Transportation charges Dr 25000
    TDS payable basic       Cr 2500
    Surcharge                    Cr 250

    Service tax                   Dr 643 (p&l a/c)
    Service tax`payable       Cr 643(B/Sheet a/c)
Now the issue is when i use the tax code in SAP it posts a different transcation like
    Vendor Cr rs 22167
    Transportation charges Dr 24357
    TDS payable basic       Cr 2500
    Surcharge                    Cr 250
    ECS                            Cr 55
    HECS                          Cr 28
    Service tax provision     Dr 643

Create withholding tax type using the path
Create withholding tax code using the path
Note: when u create tax code u should select '3' for posting indicater under postings
Assign the withholding tax type to the company code using the path
Maintain G/L accounts for the debit entries using the path

    Hye
You can not generate this entry auomatically.  Other option available is Create Tax code for Ex S1 assign  account service tax controll account and create another Tax code Say T1 assign GL Service tax cenvatable ( With Target TAx Code as S1).  You have to maintain the Service tax controll item with open item management.
On a periodical basis you execute f.38 transfer the Data from S1 to T1 and adjust the eligiblie amount on a periodical basis.

  • Service Tax Calculation (For Transporter)

    Hi
We have a requirement related with Service Tax Code , related with Transport Vendor where in Clinet wanst the Service Tax as 10.3% on 40% of the Invoice.
For example: say the Invoice Value is Rs. 100. The Client want Service Tax 10.3% on Rs 40 i.e. Rs. 4.12
    Pls. guide.
    Regards,

    Hi Pramod,
you have to create a new condition type which will be the copy of any discount condition type.
then you have to modify the taxinn. here you have to call this condition type before service tax condition type. the base for the new condition is the base value.
now you will have to maintain the condition record for the your new condition as 40%
and your service tax condition record as it is that is 10.3%

    Hi,
Note 1435105 - Master note for Indian Budget 2010 for Logistics (MM & SD) - this was the master note for impementing the service tax.
But now as service tax regulations have changed we need not configure the old service tax postings i.e postings to interim service tax accounts.
As and when the service is invoiced directly it can be booked to Service Tax Payable/Receivable accounts, previously the postings were made to Service Tax Payable/Receivable Interim Accounts. Later the amounts of the interim accounts were transferred when the invoice is paid.
Note 1571186 - Changes to Service Tax from Indian Union Budget 2011-2012 - please find the latest note on this.
In the above note there is zip file attached which expalins about the changes to be done and about the old postings.
    thanks & regards,

  • Journal Entry for Service Tax Non-Deductible.

    Dear Experts,
I have created an A/P Invoice for a Service item with Service Tax Non-Deductible(100%). For that we got the journal entry as below.
    Journal Entry
Edu. Cess on Service Tax Payable Dr.                   00
HCess on ST Payable Dr.                                        00
Service Tax Payable (Non-Deductible) Dr.              00
Inbound Freight and Carriage Dr.                       10000
Service Tax Payable (Non-Deductible) Dr.            258
                    Vendor A/c                                                     10258.
But my client is asking for the credit figure to be splited to Vendor A/c - 10000 and Service Tax Payable (Non-Deductible) A/c - 258.
He wants the Service Tax amount not to be credited to the Vendor A/c; but to be kept in the Service Tax Payable account.
Is this correct and possible? Please advice.

    Hi
I never seen this kind of scenario....
If your involving any tax in Document then it will Cr. or Dr. to respective vendor or customer and it is the logic too , they have to pay for that... IF they are not payable then will your company pay for that to Govt. It will be lose to company only....
So in Straight the way you need is wrong according to me, May  be  i don't know your are current scenario might be like this... if it so pls explain further ....
