Session corruption

Here is the scenario.
We have an Apex app that uses OID/LDAP for authentication. After login and navigating to a page, copy the URL, which is in the form /pls/htmldb/f?p=115:2:12707292724811104707. Then close all browser windows, or move from FireFox to IE. Past the full URL into the browser. Login at the prompt. Some application features work but those that use session variables fail. Debuggging shows that the session variables have null (zero-length varchar) values.
It appears that the full URL does not fully identify a user's server-side session. A cookie that is handled by the browser must have been used to reach session data.
This disables deep linking and bookmarking. Even after you re-login and you get a new session id, the cookies don't match up with the session id. The session state is corrupt.
Actually I see two cookies:
Cookie: LOGIN_USERNAME_COOKIE=sitescope; WWV_CUSTOM-F_705323579093678_115=5A9121E140BE224F

it is not my expectation that matters.Okay, but I think you are expecting the product to behave in ways that it never has and never will. If that is true, your expectations won't be met. That matters to me.
You didn't confirm nor dispute the use of session id in URL AND cookies on the client side to identify sessions.The information I gave you in the thread you abandoned (Session management ) should have been sufficient. I invite you to read that again and reply to that thread if something I said there is unclear. I am happy to help you understand the product but I don't want to jump into a new thread about session management for each new question. Keeping it all together will benefit others down the road.

Can a DVDSP session or track get corrupted? ... My session was fine before but it seems to have problems with the new media I bring into older tracks... When I bring the same media (video) to a new track it's ok.

I am facing a problem regarding to Session expiry
I have two applications app1, app2 deployed on same server (WebLogic Server 8.1 SP3) on Windows 2000
app1 url is http://localhost:7001/app1 (in domain domain1)
app2 url is http://localhost:7001/app2 (in domain domain2)
well, there is facility in the form of Link to open app2 from app1 as both are the applications of the same company
I have just written complete path of second application in the target of link in app1

in the first page of app2, there is code to invalidate the session, as it is a login page, means if session already exist then invalidate it,

Both applications are quite independent (deployed on same server at different domains), why they are mixing the session with each other
This is the problem with servlets, i tried it with simple jsps, it is still there.

get login credentials in session corrupt means .. it changes in both login .here iam login by two different username.

Error occurred while saving SAP Lumira 1.15.1 document

Hi All,
I got error while saving document in SAP Lumira 1.15.1(Error Desc. : you do not have permission to save the document to its current location). and also occurred while sharing on cloud. Below fig.1 shows while saving and fig 2.shows error while sharing on cloud.
Currently I am using SAP lumira 1.15.1. Build 879

I faced the same situation while trying to save the document. Since i dint get any valid resolution, i just restarted the Lumira, and now i could save the documents.
Restarts helps most of the times though it is not recommendable.
As someone said earlier, it has something to do with Session corruption.

Character / Input corruption after session lock

One of our larger customers has the following setup:
Windows 2008 R2 Active Directory with 2x DC at a datacentre and 1x DC in their head office, 3x RDS servers in a DNS RR terminal server farm and a DC acting as a gateway server. The end user accesses the RDS infrastructure via an external URL.
The client PCs are Windows 7 x86 with bare minimum software. All clients and servers are up to date with released Windows Updates.
When a user logs into the RDS and leaves their computer, it locks after a certain amount of time. If they unlock their computer all appears well, but when they unlock the RDS session, they invariably see character corruption which means the password
is incorrect and they are unable to log in.
There is a workround by users pressing ESC a few times or disconnecting and reconnecting, however a proper resolve to this issue is requested.
Any ideas what is causing this and how I can go about troubleshooting?

Did you receive any specific error for your case?
Are you passing your RD Web Server through RD Gateway?
Does this issue occurs for all users or specific user?
There is one Hotfix for slightly different scenario if you are passing your server through RD Gateway. Please install if it applicable and check the result.

Adobe Audition CS5.5 corrupted a session

I recorded a couple of sessions with Audition. The waveforms appeared onscreen as usual. Once the session was finished, I tried to play the audio back. The waveform changed to a repetitive pattern and the audio played one second looped from beginning to end. The whole session was apparently corrupted. The other session is similar, yet the waveform still exists. Has anyone had an issue like this occur? Is it corrupted software? Is there any way to recover the audio, or do I need to re-record the sessions?

The audio goes straight to disk so you probably shouldn't need to re-record it..

Thanks, Ian. Yeah, that's how I do it now...or with the controls in the left side pane. Still, I would have liked that quick on-the-spot edit capability...especially while sketching.

Firefox crashes on Youtube site. "Restore session" window is corrupted & results in repeated crashes

Running Firefox 3.6.13 on Mac G5 OS 10. 4, dual 2.0GHz, ton of memory.
This started happening 6 months ago.
With 4 or mare other tabs open, watching video on youtube results in a crash 50% of the time. The "Opps This is embarrassing" window appears, but the checkmarks are not there next to the icons. Clicking the icons makes the icons reappear and disappear, but ultimately, Firefox attempts to load ALL the tabs/pages, so obviously "clicking" is not unchecking anything.
This means '''I never was able to uncheck''' the possible offending site(s), which makes troubleshooting nearly impossible because I essentially can't trouble shoot a problem site(s), using Firefoxe's method. I don't know it youtube, I simply suspect that.

I have four crash report codes from today.
The only solution is to log out of my account, and log back in. That seems to work.
But I'm trying to fix the "restore window" that never shows the checkmarks anymore. Do I reinstall forefox? This has happened with the last 3 versions, and has never solved the problem. Seems like some kind of preference file corruption?, since firefox acts the same way no matter what version of 3.6 I run.

No, you wont lose any bookmarks. 
You only lose tabs that you have marked as "Pin as App Tab" via the right-click context menu of that tab and other tabs from the current session. 
You can bookmark an Ap tab if you haven't done that yet.

Session manager + new firefox update = corrupt sessions?!

I just updated to the new firefox and all of my sessions are now blank or possibly corrupted and it only says how many tabs i have in each session ,but i cannot click on "recover session". Can i roll back the 36 version ,or is it a problem with session manager not being compatible with the new version ? How can i recover my previous session at least?

To reiterate , I want to fix my sessions and my session manager, because I think I do have access to most of my tabs through another backup and potentially through a text editor ,but the new firefox update has created these discrepancies and I want to know how to bring everything back in order and specifically my sessions that are just showing a blank space within the session manager addon

Ufsdump acros ssh session seems to get corrupted

I am trying to perform a ufsdump to a remote tape device by piping it through an ssh session to a server with an LTO drive locally attached.
ie. ufsdump 0uf - / | ssh tapedump@tapeserver /usr/bin/dd bs=32k "of=/dev/rmt/0un"
It completes succesfully but when I go to do a ufsrestore on the tape server I get errors such as:
"Media read error: not enough space"
"Read error while restoring <directory file - name unknown>
just wierd stuff like this so I am suspecting corruption.
I really don't want to use rmt if at all possible :-)
The user "tapedump" is a member of the local "sys" group on the tape server.
If (as root) I run a similar command on the tape server
ie. ufsdump 0uf - / | /usr/bin/dd bs=32k "of=/dev/rmt/0un"
but ofcourse not using ssh it works a treat, no errors when using ufsrestore.
Any ideas anyone? Anyone done this sort of thing before ?

Tried the ufsrestore command below with blocking factor of 64 which I believe is correct (512byte records * 64 = 32k)
# ufsrestore ibf 64 /dev/rmt/0
However it produces the error:

Cannot figure out what your talking about since it makes no sense.
If you are the account owner you can go to the My Verizon web portal http://www.verizonwireless.com
You must log in with your cell number and your my Verizon portal password. Not the account pin.
Once there you can change your plan and services. However repeated incorrect login attempts will lock you out of the site. It a fraud prevention measure.
1-800-922-0204 call support with your cell number and or account number and account pin and they can assist you.
If you don't have the information then there is nothing they can do.
If you can verify who you are they may be able to reset your account access. But only if you are the account owner.

Corrupted Session?

Hi everybody.
i still use audition 1.5 (windows) but i guess that could happened to newer versions as well.
my problem: so a vst plug crashed while working on a session. when i restarted audition you know the question is asked if you want to restore the former session or delete it. yes i deleted it. i thought this was cache only not having consequences to the original session file.
all the files & informations are gone. when i open it, theres simply a plain session. but: i opened the session file in the windows editor and it seems all the informations are still there! so i guess the file is somehow corrupted. so maybe can anybody help me with that session file, so that audition can read it properly again please? it was a lot of work and i will never ever press that delete button again.

Did All My Session Versions Get Corrupted At Once??!!!

I'm writing to you because I have been working on a project for upwards of a month now. About two days ago, Audition was working like a dream, then when I fired it up, my project sounded like I was surfing through am radio in the middle of a desert! What gives? There's static everywhere, and when the signal does come in clean, there are echos from parts that are supposed to be played earlier in the song. I've been saving incremental versions, and all I get are the same results on the previously saved versions as well. Did I just lose everything?!

1 don't know wait for someone else but if it's the audio files that are messed up then hopefully when you saved incremental version you did a "save session as" and ticked the box that says: [√] Save copy of all associated files... then if one set of files is corrupted you can delete then and use the other version.
If your audio files are messed up and you just save other sessions that references the same files then #nobueno
but, if you did save seperate audio files by tickign the box do not open the corrupted audio files (which your backup session might still be referencing) and save session as with associated files at this point. I repeat DO NOT do this, and describe how you saved your backups before you do anything.

How can I delete a corrupted old sessionstore file (it's affecting my restore session feature)?

On 2/29/12, Windows reported that sessionstore-38.js was corruput and unreadable and requested I run CHKDSK. I run it but this file was not deleted. Also, it has resulted in my Firefox session restores to be "frozen" (same windows and tabs) to back on 2/29 when this bad file situation started on 2/29/12. I've even tried using new sessions but Firefox constantly reverts back to the old set of windows and tabs from 2/29 whenever the session drops. Help me please!!!

Numbers in sessionstore file names can indicate that Firefox had a problem replacing your old session file with a new one.
The quickest way to open your profile folder is
Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Open Containing Folder" button
Once the folder is open, you might need to close Firefox before proceeding.
