Serving Portal 8.1 SP2 content from Apache 2.0.43 configured using Plugin.

Hi Friends,
Ours is a Portal Enterprise app with 3 portal web apps in 8.1 SP2.
We are planning to configure 2 Apache HTTP Web Servers as Front End Machines
(External Load Balancer) with 2 Weblogic Portal back end machines with 4
Weblogic Portal servers in a cluster.
The 2 Weblogic Portal Back end Machines will be having the same Domain
replicated by some means. So When one WL Admin Server is down, then we will
use the other.
In reference to this configuration,
We are using Apache Http Plugin from BEA.
How can we configure Apache and Weblogic server in order that all the static
content will be served by Apache and dynamic content by Weblogic Server ?
I mean to ask suppose I have webapp ,
what will be correct set-handlers that I have use in httpd.conf and any
changes to be done in Portal Web app to support this setting ?
Please explain with example.

Actually, XMLBeans are built into Workshop. Create a schema project and put your XSD into it. The beans will be generated automatically and included in your portal app.

I am hoping someone would be able to help me as I have looked on the internet for an answer to this. We deploy a number of servers that are configured using Powershell. I am in the process of creating a clustered WIN2K8R2 cluster with MSMQ. I am able to
do this successfully through the Failover Mgr with no issues. In addition, I can do this via Powershell (code listed below) with one caveat.
However, when I create the same exact MSMQ in Powershell, I am unable to right click on the MSMQ service to manage it as the "Manage MSMQ" is missing when I right click on it. The settings are the same, including dependencies. The only difference
I have been able to find is the icon in the Failover Manager shows the Service as a Generic Service icon when created in Powershell, but when it is created in the GUI it shows up as the MSMQ icon. I was able to verify this in the registry in HKLM\Cluster\Groups\<GUID>\:
GroupType HEX: 68 for msmq icon. When it is the Generic Service icon it is HEX: 270f. When I change it from 270f to 68, the icon changes in Failover Manager and I am able to open, but then I get an invalid handle and I am unable to manage it.
This is causing an issue, because I want to automate this build and hand it over, but they would be unable to manage it except by programming which the operators are not ready for.
Here is the code which I have created in Powershell:

TS1474 What am I doing wrong? I move content from a cd to my iTunes library on the computer, but when I try to load a song on my iPhone, the red circle appears and I can't do it, even though I have sync-ed the devices. Any solutions?

I am frustrated! I add content to my iTunes library from a cd, then find that I am unable to load it. When I click and drag an item to my device, the red NO symbol appears and I am unable to load it onto my phone, although I have synced the devices. I AM able to do this without issue on another computer. Help!

The number of devices authorized on an account and the number that an iPhone can sync to are two different things. You can now authorize up to 5 computers or 10 devices to play your content, but still an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch can only be tied to one computer at a time. You can copy content from other computers to the computer used for syncing, and get it on the iPhone that way.
Connect the phone to that computer, whichever you want to be the "master" of the iPhone. Click on its name in iTunes. On the right there is a Summary screen. Scroll down it and you will see several checkboxes. One of them is "Manually manage music and videos". If this is checked you must drag content from iTunes to the iPhone. If you have a large library, however, this can be cumbersome.
The alternative is to leave this box unchecked, and instead click on the "Music" tab when the phone is connected. You can then just check the content you want on the phone, by artist, genre, title, playlist, etc. After checking you click the "Update" or "Sync" button and everything you have checked syncs automatically.

- We've retried enough times on job 00001F5B, give it up.

- but there is enough space !

Is TRex required to display content from Content Server in the Portal?

Hi all gurus!
A short question: do you have to have TRex (or any other search/index engine) when you want to display content from a SAP Content Server in the portal? Or does the content server has its own search/index engine?

Hi,
Sap content server can be added in the portal as an KM repository. So configuration is needed. But when finished you can open and look at the content server like they are normal KM folders. TREX on the other hand is advisable in order to have the means to quickly find something in your content server. Otherwise it is like any other stupid file structure. lots of files and lots of folders.
Depending on you portal version you need to install a bussiness pack for document managment to get the content server visable in KM

I have many developers needing to hare content and content types
amongs eachother and also eventually migrate the content and content types
to a UAT environment.
Any Idea how to export the content and content types.

I'm assuming both you and I are using UAT to mean User Acceptance Testing?
A couple of things that come to mind: one is to use shared directories for
staging and working with simple content in simple ways, you can always use
the bulk loader to dump content into the WLP repository. Plus you can place
those shared dirs under source control if you need to. If you are looking
at more sophisitcated content management and have the need for many complex
create/review/publish, etc. features, I would recommend looking at a true
content management system that integrates well with WLP like Interwoven's
TeamSite or Documentum.

Problem using content from content server in portlet.

Hi all,
I create a JSR286 portlet project, add a content server connection then drag content from those connection to jspx by selected create > document - content presenter.
Problem occur when i deploy the project to portlet managed server.
I'm not sure any mds they required because while deploying the Deploymeny Configuration was poped up to prompt me select mds repository.
I don't know what mds repository they required.
Please help.

Migration of portal content from EP 6.0 SP 15 to NW 2004s Portal

These are the steps in migrating the portal content from the EP 6 SP15 to the Netweaver Portal (EP 7.0 or the NW 2004s Portal) in simple:
1. Go to System Administration -> Transport -> Portal Content. Right click on the folder, you wish to transport. Select New -> Transport Package .
2. Fill all the details (like name of the transport package, id etc) and then add the objects(iViews, Pages etc) you wish to transport to the newly created transport package by right clicking on the objects.
3. Once the objects are all added, click on Export in the object editor of the Transport package and the export happens immediately.
4. Navigate to Drive\usr\SAP\SID_Instance\Sys\global\pcd\Export of the EP 6 SP 15 Portal Server. You will see the epa file created during this export process.
5. Copy this epa file and place it in Drive\usr\SAP\SID_Instance\Sys\global\pcd\Import folder structure of the NW 2004s Portal Server. Go to System Administration -> Transport -> Import and do the import as you would import any business package.
This are the steps to export and import the portal content from one portal server to another portal server.

Error when trying to run UCM from browser -The portal page for your Content

Hi
When I try and run the UCM in a browser using "http://localhost/idc", it showing
"The portal page for your Content Server needs to be rebuilt. Start the WebLayout Editor as a standalone application and select Update Portal... from the Options menu."
I did see a previous message that says to go to Weblayout Editor Applet - Options - Build Home Page - Update -Ok, but I was not able to see the Build Home Page option in the drop down.
Any ideas what may be causing this issue?

I have installed this product on two environments following the same kind format.
In our dev environment I am able to type in the following to get to the Welcome to Content Server Page

In the other environment I use the following and I get that the error "The portal page for your Content Server needs to be rebuilt. Start the WebLayout Editor as a standalone application and select Update Portal... from the Options menu."

So the only way to get to the Content Server Page is to type the full path as below which I don't want to do, because I want the welcome screen to appear first.

Is there a way I can configure the application to get to my welcome screen instead of getting the error message detailed above?

concerning your first question - please decribe, what you are trying to do.
Question 2:
LOIO_ID is the ID of the Logical Information Object. A LOIO is not a real document, but kind of a virtual document, a containerfor all "real" versions of a document. A PHIO (physical info object) is a real document.

Can't download content from Distribution Server on Android

I've compiled an app using the Android option from the Adobe Viewer Builder.
Everyhting works fine even installing it on and Android tablet but at the moment of downloading the content from the Distribution Server, the progress bar doesn't move and it shows the legend "Waiting" and starys there forever..
Any ideas what could be hapenning?

Thanks for your reply.. I did Publish the folio and I CAN download it really fast on the Distribution Server and watch it fine on the iPad but when I try to download it the same folio on the Staging Server, no luck yet, even both have the same size (and HTMLResourcez.sip file either)
Any further ideas??
