Set deadline according to factory calendar

Hi workflow experts,
I have 3 questions regarding deadline monitoring.
1. Is it possible to use bussiness days from factory calendar instead of calendar days for workitem deadline ?
2. Is there a FB for changing the deadline of a workitem ? I found only SAP_WAPI_GET_DEADLINES for reading the deadline.
3. what is the simplest way of repeating the modeled action ( in my case send a reminder mail) for overdue workitems every day after they got overdued ?
best regards
Kerstin

Hi guys,
thank you. Seems nobody uses the built-in deadline handling because of its poorness ?
I have a simple task:
- monitor the deadlines of all user decision steps in my workflow  ( based on working days)
- send a reminder email after the deadline is reached to the actor
- send an email every working day to the same actor until the workitem status is COMPLETED.
I would like to do this without a lot of additional modeling.
In sdn there are some other suggestions for repeated escalation to the same actor:
- delete the workitem and recreate it with new creation date to achieve a repeated escalation action triggred by workflow engine
User Decision - Deadline monitoring - Obsolete workitem
In How to Create General UWL Notifications the deprecated SWW_WI_CREATE is used where the LATEST_END_DATE is an import parameted.
I'm still not sure which is a simple and robust solution - may be I will use the deprecated FM too if there is no alternative.

Kerstin

  • Deadline event and factory calendar

    Hi,
we use some events like WF_APPR_LATEST_END to send and email notifiction to approvers of a shopping cart. So far it works. But the event deadline did not consider the factory calender!
How can i achive that the determination of deadline date/time consider the factory calender? We do not want to send email notification on weekend and holidays!
    Best regards,
    Ben

    Hello Benjamin,
Have a look at Knowledge Base Article below:
[1467113 - Factory Calendar is not available in SRM|https://websmp106.sap-ag.de/~form/handler?_APP=01100107900000000342&_EVENT=REDIR&_NNUM=1467113&_NLANG=E]

  • Information Broadcasting according to the SAP factory calendar

Is it possible to circulate BW reports via the Information Broadcaster according to the SAP factory calendar?
It is our objective to circulate reports according to working days (not calendar dates).  Eg, to circulate cost centre reports on the 4th working day.
    Regards,
    Frederick
    PS - we use BI7

    As suggested above, you may need to create a new calender in SCAL. Points to be kept in mind during the creation of calender are;
    1. Use special rules to create fourth working day every month
    2. Keep in mind regarding the holidays.
    3. You may need to validate this calender in future as you do not know the future holidays.
    Option 1: Via Process chain
Create a separate/new process chain which updates the Infocube/ODS on which the report exists -> At the end of process chain, create a new process "Trigger event data change(for broadcaster) -> In the scheduling options of the process chain, use the newly created calender and schedule the chain -> In the Bex broadcaster wizard, select option "Execution with Data Change of Infoprovider".
    For more help, refer the below;
    http://www.tli-usa.com/download/Taking_Charge_of_Information_Broadcasting_in_BI_7[1].0_for_improved_report_and_data_distribution.pdf
    Option 2: Via background Job
Create a new Job in SM36.  In the scheduling options of the Job, use the newly created calender in restrictions. Create a new step for ABAP program RSRD_BROADCAST_FOR_TIMEPOINT and schedule the Job.
If user has authorizations then, Time Point defined by the Job will be visible in the Bex broadcaster wizard.
Refer the above link for more information.
    Hope this helps,

  • How to set 2 factory calendar in 1 plant?

Now I setup 1 factory calendar and assign to plant and it contains 5 workday (Monday-Friday) per week.
In the future , For 1 plant we want to separate into 2 production lines and the workday are different. What should I do?
    Sample of different workday
Production 1 , workday are 1-15 of each month
    Production 2 , workday are Monday-Friday
Look forward to hear any suggestion.

    Dear DB49
Thanks for you recommendation,Could you please tell me which parameter I have to set in OPU5?
Now I set parameter as below detail but it still have problem about basic date in planed order.
    Parameter in OPU5
    Detail Scheduling -> SelID:Detailed = 01
    Scheduling = Checked
    Generate capacity reqs. = Checked
Scheduling level   = Via Detailed Scheduling
Adjust dates = Adjust basic dates, adjust dep. reqmts to operation date
For capacity scheduling = Always basic dates, dep.reqmts to operation dates
    Scheduling type = Backwards
Reduction type = All operation in the order will be reduced
Maximum reduction level = Do not reduce
    Example
I set 3 working days on factory calendar (Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday)
    PIR   -> requirement date 18.10.2010
Total Operation time = 5 Days (from tcode c203)
When run MPS (MD40/MD41) with scheduling = Lead Time Scheduling and Capacity Planning
    Planned order
                          Basic Dates                                  Production Dates
    Finish              18.10.2010                                  20.10.2010
    Start                05.10.2010                                  05.10.2010
Why basic finish dates is not equal 20.10.2010?

    Dear
If F1 is the correct calander , then goto OP03-Calander Maintenece -select the Holoiday Caleneder  and extende the Valaidity till 2020 and also Select the Factory Calander  do the same till 2020 .Now Goback to main screen of OP03-Plant asisngement -re-assing the same F1 calaneder .
Secondly check the factory calender of the plant in OX10.Then in SPRO > enterprise structure >Definition > logistic execution>define shipping point .Select you shipping point and assgin the proper factory calender
.Goto OVX5 , choose your sales organization, click on details, Detailed information tab - Sales Org Calendar (maintain your factory calendar here not Sale Org Calander )
.Check in VOV8, use the "Propose delivery date" and "Lead time in Days" options to default today's date as the requested delivery date.

  • LSO - Issue with Factory calendar End Year and creation of New courses

    Hi,
Recently we are experiencing an Issue in LSO with the system hanging while creation of "Course with Resources".
Upon Analysis we identified that while creating course with resources and by checking "Period without Days off" option references the set factory calendar in LSO config and since this set Factory Calendar has an End Year in 2005, the system hangs trying to reference this factory calendar.
For some course types we are unable to even enter the course creation Data screen. These course types have " Main schedule" (with / without pattern) pre defined.
The issue does not seem to occur if we extend the factory calendar to current period or future.
Please let me know if anybody has faced this issue, if extending the factory calendar the right solution and what is the impact of exteding a factory calendar in HR module. Is the factory calendar referenced anywhere else in HR module?
Note: in LSO config you can set the factory calendar in Training and Event Management>SAP Learning Solution>Training Management>Basic settings>Control Options for Days Off,

  • Time stream and Factory Calendar settings issue. Problems in scheduling!!

    Hi,
We have a factory calendar of working days from SUN-THU only (5 days a week).
Every working day starts at 07:00:00 (first shift) and ends at 06:59:59 at the following day.
I am not sure how to set the time stream. Do I set it for daily (5 days a week) with gaps start at 07:00:00. Or, as the standard way as daily (all days 1 -7) 00:00:00 - 23:59:59 without gaps.
We are using the planning board to schedule production orders that were created in ECC, but we see that we have problems with date corelation between the systems, and we think it is due to some wrong setting of the time stream!
    Thanks for your replies

    Hi,
For scheduling, the time stream of resource is relevent. As to how to generated the time stream, it depends on your resource capacity setting and your factory calendar. I'm not sure why your factory calendar starts at 7:00:00 daily. For the time steam of the resource, it should be ok to start at 7:00:00, and you mayexecute the time stream generation (ta. /sapapo/rest02) to save the time stream in LiveCache.

  • How to maintain TFACS table (Factory calendar) into SAP BI

    Hi,
I deal with a daily stock infocube and I would like to set a flag when the warehouse doesn't work (on holiday).
to do this, I would like to use the factory calendar (TFACS), and I have 2 questions:
    1) How to maintain the TFACS table into SAP BI ?
    2) How to use the TFACS data into SAP BI ? In other words, How to convert the TFACS data values in date ?
    Thx.
    Radj.

    1.
rsa1(source-systems) --> right-click on the source system you load from --> transfer global settings --> flag 'factory calendar' and 'rebuild' or 'update tables'
    2.
    use function module DATE_CONVERT_TO_FACTORYDATE.
it returns workingday_indicator (initial if it's a worling day) that you can use as a flag, or it also returns the next working day.
you can use this function module in the transformation in the field routine of the flag...i think this is the best option.

  • How to determine which Factory Calendar to use in BI - Help!

    Hello,
Need some help? Any input would be much appreciated.
Basically I am creating a query in BI 7.0 based on Utilisation for a particular business Unit. However, I need to define or incorporate somewhere, to use the GB Factory Calendar.
I have done the normal SCAL maintenance and transferred Global settings from R/3. So all the Factory calendars have been transferred over. Our BI system is picking up the default factory Calendar as 'DE'.
How do I now tell BI I want to use specific Factory Calendar 'GB' (Great Britain) at ALL TIMES since this is the only one we will use.
Do we need to use a particular info object in query?
0CALMONTH to check working days as opposed to 0FISCPER
    Many thanks in advance
    Kuljit

Try tcode RSRHIERARCHYVIRT customizing setting - specify your factory calendar and check if it works.

    2) whether there is enough demand
    3) whether the stock available is less than the demand
    4) Whether planning parameters are set properly
    5) Whether external procurement is setup for material master
    6) Whether planning file entry took place
so many but a few listed on possibilities of failure to get PReqs out of MRP run...

  • Date is outside the factory calendar range

I am trying to run a BW query. When I click on the calnedar icon field. It gives this error.
Error: Date is outside the factory calendar range
    Msg No. FK884
What could be the problem in the query? Has anybody had the similar problem before? I tried to search in SAP notes and could not find anything close to this.
I will  Appreciate your help. Thanks a lot.
    Abhi

    Hi Abhijit,
We got the same error message in 2010.
    1) Check in transaction SCAL that the Factory Calendar ID 01 (i.e. German) is valid to 2009. This explains the error message.
    2) Found SAP Note 1136142 about the configuration of default factory calendar ID of F4 Help and hierarchy for Time-characteristics in BI 7.0.
    SAP Note Solution:
The key figure attribute obtains its value from the default work calendar as it is maintained in transaction RSRHIERARCHYVIRT (General Settings -> Default Factory Cal. ID).
This setting is valid across the entire system and does not permit any variable selection of the factory calendar for each query.
Furthermore, a value for 0NUMWDAY is calculated only for the period in which the default factory calendar is valid.
    3) Check in transaction SCAL that the Factory Calendar ID of our location is valid to 2050.
The problem is solved after changed the Default Factory Cal. ID from 01 to the ID of our location in transaction RSRHIERARCHYVIRT.

  • Error Msg_ME078 - DELIV. date outside period covered by factory calendar

    Dear experts:
when i create PO with ME21N,
if the delivery date is not within the year of 2010,
there will appear an error msg "ME078 - DELIV. date outside period covered by factory calendar".
i have checked the factory calendar with SCAL.
i know how to modify the factory calendar to expand the time period,
but now i still have a question,
the system can't change the year period automatically?
so we have to change the period after we confirm the public holiday calendar?
    thanks ~

  • Maintain Factory Calendar

    Hi
We are getting an error when running a query that contains a variable using Factory Calendar, "date is outside the factory calendar range"
I check SCAL and noticed that my calendar is set to date 1996 to 2010. When comparing to R/3 our BW calendar is outdated.
How do I maintain this calendar using R/3? How do I load this information? I'd rather not to change directly in BW.
    Thanks

Go to R/3 source system right click and do transfer global settings ,it should update the factory calendar .

  • BEx variables: Date is outside Factory Calendar Image

    Good day
A user received the following message when selecting the inpiut help for a date variable for a CRM query:
" Date is outside Factory Calendar Image"
I have checked tcode SCAL and noticed that the factory calendar for South Africa = 1996 to 2010. I checked the CRM source and their factory calendar is the same. In the mean time I have transferred the global settings for SAP DNI (parts) into BW and the factory calendar setting for South Africa now shows 1996 to 2015.
Problem is that the CRM query still shows the same error message.
    Question:
    1) Should factory calendar settings for all SAP sources (Modules i.e. CRM...) be imported into BW, or is there another setting that I must check?
    Thanks in advance.
    Cj

This is what I have done:
Whe have the following R/3 modules (source systems in BW)
    SAP DNI
    SAP dFM
    SAP CRM
    SAP SRM
    etc.
(Tcode = SCAL, selected 'factory calendar', selected 'rebuild tables')
Firstly I have transferred the global settings for SAP CRM (as the BEX query is from CRM). Their factory date was 2012. This did not solve the problem.
secondly, I did SAP DNI, their factory date = 2015, this also did not solve the problem.
I then transferred the global settings for SAP dFM, our main reporting module, their factory date = 2020. The problem was solved.
Seems as if only ONE of the modules depicts the factory calendar date for BEX.
I have rested this again and only SAP dFM global settings rectified the BEx display problem.
    Hope this helps?
