Set Digital Output for Modicon 340 through Modbus Ethernet

Hello,
I used modbus Ethernet example vi and am able to read input coil status of quantity 512
If starting address is changed above 511, VI returns 6002 error.
As per below concept, how can I write  to output coil
Output Coils are assigned the block 1-9999
Input Coils are assigned the block 10001-19999
Input Coils are assigned the block 10001-19999
Input Register are assigned the block 30001-39999
Output Register are assigned the block 40001-49999
I also tried sending command directly to TCP IP write like 05 00 AC FF 00 to set a coil. Still its not working.
Can anyone inform how to proceed. Any example or command structure is highly helpful
Thank you

I don't see a "jacks" button on my console, therefore I can't reconfigure the jack to digital.
Is this not available on the Go! unit?

  • Using mathscript to generate multiple digital outputs for switch control

    Hello
I am new to this NI LV and a have kind of a basic question. I would like to use Mathscript to generate an array of bolean numbers which will be used to control the Digital I/O lines. I am using NI 6251 USB device and the Mathscript code runs well. But I have a problem using this array to control the Digital output. So I created a simple test programme where I set the DAQ assitant to generate 4 digital outputs(P0.0 ~ P0.3) and it gives error that  ".. number of channels in the data does not match the number of channels in the task..." (see attachment) . How can I solve this problem thank you.

looks like you did not initialize all 4 of the elements in the bool array....

  • CFP-2220 using digital output for status to another cFP-2220

I have two cfp-2220 that I want to connect with each other using the DIO's of 5V that they have.
The problem that I have is that I don't know the impedance to connect the CFP2220-1 Digital Output 1 to a relay for switching the CFP2220-2 Digital Input 1.
I am using a relay for interfacing the signal. This relay needs 34mA 5V to operate. I am not sure if the CFP2220 would have the needed power to turn the relay on and to close the contact that will operate the CFP2220-2 Digital Input 1. In the user manual of the CFP2220 does not mention anything about it.
    Thank you!

    Hi ggarza:
Here is the current specification for the digital outputs on the 2220: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/0147137D2442E4A9862572C100758895?OpenDocument. As you can see there, it only supports 3mA, so it would not be possible to use this relay. In addition to this, you should be careful using this outputs, as the manual specifies they are not isolated.

  • Digital output for SB Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Prob

I am trying to connect SB Audigy 2 ZS Platinum to my Amplifier (Sony DVP-NS92V) via the SPDIF coaxial digital connection (I have also tried the digital output at the rear panel), unfortunitely the output i got is only on the left and right front speakers. I am currently having a 7. channel surround system. I have clicked both the dital output only under speaker settings and advanced control for play control, and I have also?tried by using both DTS and THX media file, but still does not work. Can anybody help ?

With a digital connection (optical or coaxial SPDIF) that is normal. Check this sticky thread for more info:

  • Cannot select Digital output for ZS 2 Noteb

Hi, I just got an Audigy 2 ZS Notebook card today, installed it, seems to work, but I also got these 5. headphones... The headphones can be plugged in either from the 3 Analog outputs from the card's docking station, or a single /8" cord, which I assume would be digital. I tried using the 3 analog outs, but when I tried to calibrate the 'speakers', front and rear sound exactly the same (front left and rear left sound as if they are in the same position, same with right), so I tried using the single /8" cable plugging it into the card's digital out, and it sounds much clearer, but nothing plays when it tries to play from the center channel or rear channels, and "Digital Output" is shaded so it cannot be selected from the THX Setup Console...
If it helps, I have the Kinyo KY-00 headphones, and they have their own small amp, which may be causing the hissing sound.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • Setting digital output ports

    Hello,
I would like to setup 3 digital ports on PXI - 6512 card using Daqmx write function. what is the best option I can choose for writting? If I choose to write as "single channel single input U32" would it work. The question I have is U32 has 32 bits where as 3 ports contains only 24 lines.
    Thanks,
    Mudda.

Your initial question appears to indicate that you want to write to "output" ports, but the vi you reference is an "input" one. As to using a U32 when you only have 24 output pins, only the lower 24 bits would be used, so you should be ok.

  • Setting time critical digital output based on axis position (PCI-7358)

    HI,
I need to set a time critical digital output based on encoder position (this will switch fast acting valves). I was planning to try the general purpose DIO but I can't find any examples, I have been through the manuals, searched the site etc. Where can I find help with this, all the examples only seem to deal with digital input triggering or RTSI? I'm thinking of an onboard program that just monitors encoder positions and sets digital outputs.
Some time back I seem to remember reading that general purpose DIO should not be used for time critical operations, is that correct? And if so what are the other options - RTSI going to another DIO board? The DIO really needs to be deterministic, is RTSI the only option?
    Any advice appreciated / Martin

Even with an onboard program you will always get a delay of several milliseconds between your axis has crossed the position and until the digital outputs are set. If this is ok for you then you could choose this approach.
For the case that you only want to toggle one digital line the Breakpoint feature should be the best solution as it toggles the breakpoint output almost immediately when the breakpoint positions are reached.
If you need to change a whole pattern instead of only a single line then the approach you mentioned would be the best solution (RTSI and high-speed DIO like the 653x boards). Combine this approach with the breakpoint feature by routing the breakpoint output to RTSI and using this as a update clock signal for the DIO board.

  • Setting rooms/resources for appointment through mail app

    Hi,
Is there any way to set the rooms for an appointment through mail app, i know i can set the location field of appointment in compose mode.
I was wondering if there is any way to add/modify/remove rooms form appointment when outlook appointment is in compose mode? i have goggled it but did not fins any link which says the at it cannot be done. so just hoping if its possible
    Thanks

Meeting rooms would be addressable entities just like a user/mailbox.  So you can create a Recipients object containing the required rooms using their email address and add them to the requiredAttendees property:

  • Pulse ON/OFF - digital outputs

I have this application where I need to turn ON a digital output for like 50ms or 100ms and turn it OFF. I call it Pulse COntrol
Here is an attachment jpg that shows how I am achieving it.
Another question if I may regarding loop timing. I have a while loop which iterates at 100ms. I choose a certain part of the program and make it a Subvi to clean the program to look more readable. Will the program still run at 100ms per iteration? For example, I have an equation that calculates a valuve from a analog input. To make the program clearer, I put the calculation into a subvi and send info and receive info through subvi panes. Will this affect the loop timing? I hope my question is clearer.
My program does a lot more than just calculate a value, hence wondering. THANKS!

  • PCI 7342 digital output

I am using PCI 7342 motion controller and UMI7772. There are 6 relays in my system, which are 24Vdc coil voltage and 37mA coil current for each. Can I use digital output on PCI 7342 through UMI7772 to drive these relays?
PCI7342's digital output is 0-5V, 24mA, but through UMI7772, I can get 5-30Vdc, 100mA output. Am I right? I am not sure 100mA is total or for each output.
    Thanks for reply.

Don't forget that a relay is basically an inductor and therefore the inrush current can be somewhat higher than the rated current. But I don't think that this might cause problems in this application.
In any case you should connect a breakdown diode in parallel with the relay coil to keep off inducted voltage from the 734x outputs, or some other snubber circuitry.

  • Create electronic-digital signature for data

    Hello
As possible create electronic-digital signature for data, referred through HTTP form internet explorer?
Thank you very much for your support.

    George,
Thank you for your submission.  It was helpful. This allowed me to create the signature block without having to place my own digital signature in the block.  However, when I send it to my client (who has Adobe Reader but not Acrobat) she is unable to input her digital signature … I’m now half-way there but I continue to pursue a solution.

  • Digital stimulus-frequency response: Need to drive with digital output trigger. Using counters for response.

I need to drive stimulus-response with a software driven digital trigger and NI-TIO counter based response. No analog I/O is really relevant, although I have a PCI-6035E multi-function DAQ as part of my gear. I intend to use the analog, but its timing is non-critical and can be software timed.
The real trick is that I want to set the basic timing of the system (in the range of 1 - 50Hz) from the timer0 on the 6035E. This signal needs to be replicated to drive a trigger pulse and to route through RTSI (or a PFI) to trigger frequency counts using the four possible groups of counter/timers on the 6602.
    What I need is:
    while( enabled )
    Repeat at (
    software controllable rate = 1-50Hz)
Trigger Sets a PFI line for 10-20us
same trigger sets an RTSI line
    - Software Set Delay (usually zero)- stable is more important than the delay time!
Count for software set time on 4 counters
    analog samples
    Post-process
I want to do this in LabView. I have checked out the Advanced sychronization demos online, but the examples all use analog triggering and buffered digital I/O. This doesn't really address what I need to do.
I have made some failed attempts which relied on software to sync up the trigger and the response frequency acquisition. This is definately flawed. I need to start the counting right after setting the digital output trigger, and stop the count after a fixed interval for frequency calculation.
I am having trouble working through the signal routing to get the timing to trigger off the digital stimulus output pulse.
    Any help would be appreciated
    Thanks,
    Joe

What are you using the trigger from the 6035E for? I do not know what you mean by, "to trigger frequency countes."
If you are having problems just routing the signal to the 6602, here is a vi that shows you how to route a signal through the RTSI cable to use as the source of a counter.

  • ITunes and Audio Midi settings for digital output sampling frequency

Most of my music is sampled at the CD standard of 44.1 kHz, but some is 48 kHz.
I have Audio Midi set to output 48 kHz with 24-bit depth.
I've been told that to avoid having iTunes up-sample when playing 44.1 kHz music, that I need to quit iTunes, manually reset the setting in Audio Midi to the lower, matching, number, and then re-start iTunes.
This strikes me as odd. Is it true? If so, is there any less cumbersome way to deal with this?

Wheat I agree entirely with your last sentiments.
I had a similar problem to 'Luckydog'.
I have a Roland HP3 digital piano which itself is a standalone musical instrument (synthesiser if you like) but also has midi in/out and audio in/out.
I made the mistake of connecting my Mac PBG4/GB2 setup to my HP3 via the Edirol UM2 USB interface, expecting to hear my piano's sounds recorded in GB2. Of course GB2 did not record anything when I selected real instrument track beacuse the Roland, I think, was sending audio not midi data to GB2. What I have since realised is that to record a real instrument whether it be a digital piano (or acoustic piano via microphone) is to set the GB2 input to audio and feed the signal from the Roland via its audio outputs to my Mac via audio interface. (I have a USB Grifin iMic).
Of course I could use the Roland purely as a midi controler and select a software instrument track in GB2, but I also have a Radium 49 simple midi controller keyboard for that.
One thing that does puzzle me though is, that if I hook up my Roland via the UM2 to a WindowsXP laptop running an app. called Cakewalk Music Creator, the Roland sounds are recorded in the timeline and can be viewed, edited and printed as conventional music scores(great for composers!!) Also the Roland track recorded in CMC can be played back through the Roland's on-board sound generator.
In this scenario there is no audio feed between the Roland and the PC only two way midi via the UM2 USB/midi interface.
This is seems to be a fundamental difference between GB2 and the Cakewalk product. Can you explain what's going on hear Wheat?.
Sorrry such a long post !!
