Set Noise Print Won't Work

Hi,
I just got final cut studio because I am doing a history project and i was wondering how to get rid of the microphone noise. I have tried using process..set noise print.. and then reduce noise, but it doesn't work. It only reduces the noise in the section that I chose.
I looked at the demo and after they get rid of the boat noise, the "set noise print" button is grayed out. This does not happen with mine. Does anyone know what the problem is? If not, does anybody have a suggestion to record voice? (I used the internal iMac microphone when I recorded).
Thanks to whoever posts

In addition to what mlehmann said, I find it is helpful to listen to just the noise that will be removed, and adjust the settings so that you don't hear sounds that you want to keep. For example, if you are reducing noise on a dialog track and you listen to the noise only, and you hear part of the voices, then you will probably end up introducing audible artifacts. Try adjusting the settings so that you don't hard bits of the voices in the noise-only mode.

  • Printer won't work - CUPS failed

I am trying to get my new Canon MF4890DW printer to work with Mac OS X v10.7.5 Lion to no avail. When trying to print any document (web page, or a simple TextEditor file), the printer queue pops up and it errors out with "/Library/Printers/Canon/CUPS_MF_Printer/Bins/capdftopdl failed." I have pasted the detailed logs below.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I tried connecting the printer using USB and interestingly this time the error log showed "Sent 0 bytes" along with the "unsupported size" error message. Does it mean that some app/utility is unable to determine the document size?

  • HT1363 ipod making clicking noise and won't work

Ipod making clicking noise and won't work. Display see apple store. We live in a rural area so one is not close!

OK, I have the 30G w/video and it does that too. I've had it a year with no problems. My husband went on the treadmill with it a couple days ago and after a few songs it froze. I did the whole regime of toggling and pressing menu/select button, I put in on my Bose speaker/charger and it switched to very low battery warning. When I took it off to move to computer it said to connect to computer and use restore (in a few languages). I connected and it recognized it and I did restore and after a few minutes screen came up saying it could NOT restore. Then ipod was unrecognized and then ipod screen gave me the very sad little ipod picture with the support web site. At that point it began making the clicking nose - morris code does describe it but I was invisioning a little nano sprite in there with a chisel!!So, same as you, I go there and it's like a maze trying to find help!! Of course my warranty was up exactly 6 weeks ago!! I tried linking through all the stuff like finding a service provider in my area, contact the "knowledge base" etc., and I can't get anyone! Now what are we gonna do?

  • HP LaserJet printer won't work following update

I have just installed the latest Apple update for HP Laserjet printers (9 Sept 2008), and now my HP 2605dn color LaserJet printer won't work. Most applications just quit when I try to print; MS Word just hangs at the dialog box when I press Enter.
I can access the printer utility OK via the Print Preferences.
Has anybody any thoughts why this should be so, and how do I proceed to get my printer working again?
    Thanks.

OK, I have just answered (part of) my own question.
Re-installing the HP Laserjet package has duplicated drivers for most of the HP laserjet printers in my list of drivers. If I select the second entry of the two identical appearances of the drivers for my printers, they start working again; if I select the first appearance they don't work. So now my printers are working again.
This still doesn't explain why Software Update prompted me to re-install an already installed package. It also gives me the issue of removing all the duplicate entries from my list of drivers, unless I am prepared to live with the clutter and waste of HD space. Any thoughts about how to do this without bombing my printers again?
    Thanks.

Since installing Mavericks the scanner on my Epson SX115 printer won't work.

  • Printer won't work with Mavericks

Since downloading Mavericks, my HP printer won't work--at the office AND at home.  Please help.
I've done everything I think was suggested from removing HP software, reseting printing, factory default of printer--everything!
    Please help!

I guess from reading your message that Mavericks just hasn't got the drivers from HP to support this.  You don't specify what model printer you are using but I would suggest that this issue here is that either your PH printer is an old model or that you need to go looking towards the HP website and see what their responses are to providing the appropriate drivers.  You're not alone sadly and this is the problem when you move forward with the times and the ancilliary equipment you have come to rely on is no longer up to speed.  Good luck!

printer won't work after installing mountain lion?

Assuming you've first checked Software Update to see if there are any updated drivers and it's still not working, you could try resetting the printing system.
System Preferences>Print & Scan, Control+Click or Right Click on a printer on the left and select 'reset printing system'. All printers will be deleted and need to be added again.

  • Panasonic KX-p7105 printer won't work on new mac - has disk for Mac OS 9.2

I finally switched to a Mac and am so disappointed that my great laser printer won't work. It prints pages of gibberish. My driver disk is for an older version of mac and won't open. I get a message saying "You can't open the network setup tool because the classic environment is no longer supported." I've since searched the net for drivers and can only find windows versions. Is this hopeless? Should I return my Mac (I'm still within the 14 days and don't want to buy another laser printer).
    Any options?

Here's what John was talking about:
    http://openprinting.org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=Panasonic-KX-P7105
You need the 3-part hpijs driver:

(these are standard Mac installers - .dmg disk image files)

  • Apple update for Epson printers (16 Aug 13) has produced "rastertoescpII quit unexpectedly" message (and printer won't work)

    Hello,
I don't think I will be able to give you any points since I am not the OP, but thank you so much for your answer.
I had a problem accessing the iTunes Store and APP Store last night although I had wi-fi access.  AppleCare had me delete the "system configuration" folder in Preferences and everthing worked fine afterwards.
But, this morning my printer would not print.  It's Sunday and I can't get through to Epson, so I started a search at this forum and found your response.  Sure enough, even though I did not do a software update, the trashing of the System Configuration folder removed the computer name that always shows in Sharing.
I typed it back in and now I am able to print.  Again, thank you.
    B.

  • No Option To Set Noise Print in Soundtrack Pro

This is another newbie to Soundtrack Pro question. I have background hiss from some terrible audio recording (not my doing) that I would like to utilize the noise reduction feature via setting a Noise Print. Once I select a section of my audio track and go to Process, however, it does not give me any options. Meaning, the options are all in gray, and cannot be selected/clicked on. Any ideas why this is? Everywhere I search (Discussions, phone support, at the Apple Store), I am told to follow the same steps, but I continue to be unable to choose Set Noise Print. Any feedback would be much appreciated.
    Thank you so much!

Is this a multitrack project? If so, you must first double-click the clip to get it in it's own window.

Visit HP's support site to see about downloading an updated driver. Or you can check at support.apple.com/downloads/ for new HP printer drivers package.

  • Color printing won't work

This is truly vexing. First time I have encountered anything like it. Any help would be much appreciated.
When using Acrobat X with an Epson LP-S4500 printer, the color printing won't work. It works with Acrobat Reader on another computer. I didn't think to test printing with another program on my computer. It's worked fine when I tested one page as a PDF print. It's been so long I'm not sure if the print black and white or grey-scale option is usually available but I can't image why it wouldn't be. There is no such option in my printing panel. I went into advanced settings and changed it from the default grey scale (again, have no idea why that is the default) to Adobe RGB and even though the preview shows color, the print itself still comes out in grey-scale.

  • Downloaded Yosemite this AM on blind faith. Now printer won't work.

Now printer won't work. "Epson not supported" Have a Artisan 730. In middle of job. So sick of updates that are not ready, eating my hours and hours.
Is solution to buy a new printer? Can I "System Restore" on an iMAC and get rid of this "update"?
I have tried to reset WiFi, rebooted, tried to reload CD setup, nothing works. Meanwhile will go plug printer into XPS One2710.

Your printer is supported, according to OS X: Printer and scanner software available for download - Apple Support (Epson drivers) and About AirPrint - Apple Support (AirPrint). Don't use the cd that came with the printer to install the drivers, those are out of date.
Delete the /Library/Printers/EPSON and /Library/Caches/Epson folder, delete the printer, and then add it using AirPrint (without installing any drivers) or download the Epson drivers from Software Update or Epson Printer Drivers v2.18 for OS X.
    Hope this helps.

  • Set Noise Print not setting

I've been searching the archives, but no luck. I Set Noise Print, but when I preview Noise Only, it's silent. When I apply the Reduce Noise, it seems to be reducing using a generic print. I've successfully done this before, but I'm not sure what I'm missing this time.
    Thanks in advance!
    Brett

Nevermind. I realized that I had not adjusted the Noise Threshold to the point it found the primary frequency range of the noise. I shifted the Noise Threshold and then the Noise Only had lots o' level.
