Setting colors based on values in charts

Hello
Can anyone please provide some information on how to set colors based on certain values in the data object in Charts. I have a pie chart and we would like to show a certain color for some values (if the data object has a value of 0, for those slices in the pie chart, we want to show Red color). I tried creating a calculated field setting some HTML using an IF expression. I am not able to select the category for this calculated field as HTML under Value Format tab. Is this something that is possible in a pie chart?
We are using BAM 10.1.3.3
Thanks in advance for your help.

This feature is not available for charts at the moment. For list views, the way you were trying is the way to go, you will have to create a calculated field with HTML that shows a color image based on the value in any of the columns, and finally, select that calculated field as one of the fields of the report.

  • ALV Grid display cell color based on value ( Function Module ALV )

    Hi,
    I want to color the cell based on value eg ( Green = Green color, Red = Red color, Amber = Yello color ).
    Each and every cell is editable after displaying on screen. once the user clicks update button the contents has to be saved to a custom table.
    Can anyone help?
    Advance thanks

    Hi,
    <li>To get color for the cell, you need to set EMPHASIZE field with below information while building fieldcatalog.
    emphasize (highlight columns in color)
    value set: SPACE, 'X' or 'Cxyz' (x:'1'-'9'; y,z: '0'=off '1'=on)
    'X' = column is colored with the default column highlight color.
    'Cxyz' = column is colored with a coded color:
    C: Color (coding must begin with C)
    x: color number
    y: bold
    z: inverse
    <li> To edit the fields, you need to set EDIT = 'X' or INPUT= 'X' . Try those .
    wa_fieldcata-input = 'X'.
    <li>you need to set PF status , to do your remaining requirement.

  • How to set background color based on values in column grouping

    Hello,
    I have query
    select 1 as CustomerID,'Reality' as Type, 100 as Turnover
    UNION
    select 1 as CustomerID,'Budget' as Type, 120 as Turnover
    UNION
    select 2 as CustomerID,'Reality' as Type, 140 as Turnover
    UNION
    select 2 as CustomerID,'Budget' as Type, 120 as Turnover
    I have matrix, where in rows are customers, there is columngroup based on field Type and in details are summaries of Turnover. I need to change background color of Reality field, when lower than Budget. How can I do that please ?

    Hi volyn,
    After testing the issue in my own environment, we can use custom code to achieve your requirement. For more details, you can refer to the following steps:
    Copy the custom code below and paste it to your report. (Right-click report>Report Properties>Code)
    DIM PreviousValue AS Decimal
    Dim CustomerID AS String = ""
    Public Function  GetPreviousValue(byval Val as Decimal, byval CusID as string)  as Decimal
    DIM Local_PreviousValue AS Decimal
    IF CustomerID <> CusID THEN
    CustomerID  = CusID
    PreviousValue  = val
    Local_PreviousValue  = 0
    ELSE
    Local_PreviousValue =  val - PreviousValue
    PreviousValue  = val
    END IF
    return Local_PreviousValue
    End function
    Click the cell which contains [Sum(Turnover)] value, modify the expression of BackgroundColor property to like this in the Properties Window:
    =iif(Code.GetPreviousValue(Fields!Turnover.Value,Fields!CustomerID.Value)<0,"Brown","White")
    In this scenario, you can change Brown color to any color you like. The following screenshot is for your reference (I added some data to make it more clearly):

  • Display as Text page items - How to change color based on Value

    Hi,
    I have a bunch of page items that I would like to display in red if they contain a minus "-" sign. My guess is that this can be done with a template. Right now they are using the Optional Label with Help template. How might I elegantly specify to display a red font if the text contains a minus sign?
    I have done this before with report regions which include conditions and I just tagged a condition to a column template and I am looking to do something similar.
    Thanks!

    You haven't had a response... I was wondering if you could answer the question I posed of where are the "Display As" templates?
    It seems that there is nothing on the forum or WEB about them. They must be in a CSS sheet somewhere, but I don't even have access to those folders at work.
    I exported a "theme" and started to look through the sql code that created the CSS file (at least that is what I think it does) but it is about 170k and it is slow reading... I have tried searching on several key words but no luck yet.
    I appreciate any insights you have. It seems to me that the display as templates would provide some real cool features...
    turn negative numbers red
    gray out non-updateable fields
    The look and feel that would meet a design standard for a specific company...
    Best of luck,
    Sam

  • Pie Chart Legend - colors and sorting value

    <p>Hi,</p><p>I have a pie chart with around 20 &#39;segments&#39; representing names of people - so it looks like several of them have the same color.</p><p>So my first question is do the standard 12 colors repeat after 12 segments have been &#39;defined&#39; - can this be extended with custom colors?.  I know you can set colors for specific values but as the list is dynamic, I can&#39;t do that. </p><p>I also have a legend defined which shows the person&#39;s name and then the value - either a percentage or a count etc.    From top to bottom, the legend lists the entries alphabetically by the person&#39;s name - however, it&#39;s not always easy to tell which name is associated with which &#39;segment&#39; and using labels is not an option as they are too long and there are too many of them to be readable<br /></p><p>So what I would like to do is have the legend displayed in numerical size order - e.g. person with largest % is at the top, smallest % is at the bottom etc.</p><p>I&#39;ve been looking at the Chart Expert, CR Help and the forums but have not seen an answer to either question - I&#39;m hoping someone can tell me if it&#39;s possible or not (and if so, how do I do it!).</p><p>Thanks <br /></p>

    Hi,
    If you go to the Chart Expert, on the data tab, you can choose the Top N option. From within there you can get your legend sorted based on the highest or lowest percentage. You can also group information so that you only see the top 5 or lowest 10 or whatever you want.
    Also when I create a pie graph based on 20 plus pieces of data it isn't resusing the colors, but they are somewhat similar. I usually do a group of the top 10 or so, then have an others category for situations like this.Â

  • DataGridCellStyle: Set Background of DataGridCell based on value in a Different DataGrid / DataTable

    Hi everyone
    I am trying to set the background of a cell in a datagrid based on a value in a different datagrid. Is it possible to specify this in the XAML through binding? I'm using the MVVM pattern and would like to minimise code in the code behind. Please note that
    the datagrids are the same dimension, but the dimension is unknown until runtime.
    I've copied an image of the two datagrids. Essentially, the second datagrid will contain values of 0 or 1. I would then like to color the cells in the first datagrid a different color based on these values.
    CODE:
    <DataGrid Style="{StaticResource Style1}" ItemsSource="{Binding Table1, StringFormat=n}" AutoGenerateColumns="True" >
    <DataGrid.InputBindings>
    <MouseBinding MouseAction="LeftDoubleClick" Command="{Binding CommandWithParameter}" CommandParameter="{Binding .}"/>
    </DataGrid.InputBindings>
    <DataGrid.CellStyle>
    <Style TargetType="DataGridCell">
    <Setter Property="Background" Value="{Binding Table2, Converter={StaticResource WeightConverter} }"/>
    </Style>
    </DataGrid.CellStyle>
    </DataGrid>
    Thanks!

    You could use a DataTrigger that binds to a column of a row of the other DataGrid like this:
    <DataGrid x:Name="datagrid"></DataGrid>
    <DataGrid x:Name="datagrid2">
    <DataGrid.CellStyle>
    <Style TargetType="DataGridCell">
    <Style.Triggers>
    <DataTrigger Binding="{Binding Path=Items[0].num, ElementName=dataGrid}" Value="abc">
    <Setter Property="Foreground" Value="Red"/>
    </DataTrigger>
    </Style.Triggers>
    </Style>
    </DataGrid.CellStyle>
    </DataGrid>
    DataTable dt = new DataTable();
    dt.Columns.Add(new DataColumn("num") { DataType = typeof(string) });
    dt.Rows.Add("abc");
    datagrid.ItemsSource = dt.DefaultView;
    datagrid2.ItemsSource = new List<string> {"a", "b", "c" };
    Hope that helps.

    We tried using xsl attribute with the following syntax ,

  • Color value labels based on value?

    Hi,
    I am attempting to track the mileage over time for my automobile lease.  I have created a table that allows for entering the current date and mileage that then calculates the target mileage for that given date and the difference between target and actual mileage.  The table is then represented in graphical form (pic below).
    I would like to be able to use the conditional formatting of color to display in the chart so that positive numbers are red (over target mileage) and negative numbers are green (below target mileage).  I can't seem to figure out how to accomplish this conditional formatting of value labels.  It seems like it should be possible to apply conditional cell formatting to labels?!?  Is there a way to achieve this variable colored label display in charts?
    Any assistance much appreciated!
    Bob

    You cannot format points within a series individually.  You can use two series: one positive and the other negative
    The main downside is that they won't connect when you switch between them:
    D2=IF((B2-C2) >= 0, (B2-C2), "")
    E2=IF((B2-C2)<0, (B2-C2), "")
    select D2 and E2, then fill down.  You can select the series in the chart to set the color.  I set the stoke color (for the line segment between points) and the point to to white for the Difference series

  • I have tried everything! How to change the color of text based on value Acrobat 9

    How can I change the color of the text to red if the value is "Unacceptable" and leave it green for all other rating values? Where can I put it for it to work? Also, Unacceptable is set to an export value of 0.
    var n = +this.getField("NumericSummaryRating").value;
    var a = +this.getField("Rating1.0").value;
    var b = +this.getField("Rating1.1").value;
    var c = +this.getField("Rating1.2").value;
    var d = +this.getField("Rating1.3").value;
    var e = +this.getField("Rating1.4").value;
    if (n == 0) {
        event.value = "Not Rated";
    } else {
    if (a==0 || b==0 || c==0 || d==0 || e==0) {
        event.value = "Unacceptable";
    else {
        if (n>0 && n < 3.0){
            event.value = "Unacceptable";
        else if (n >= 3.0 && n < 3.6) {
            event.value = "Successful";
        else if (n >= 3.6 && n < 4.6) {
            event.value = "Excellent";
        else if (n >= 4.6) {
            event.value = "Outstanding";

    You can add this at the end of the code:
    if (event.value=="Unacceptable") event.target.textColor = color.red;
    else event.target.textColor = color.green;

  • PIE Chart Color Highlight - setting colors

    Hi
    PIE Chart showing default colors even after setting the diffent colors to OIE chart slices from Color Highlight tab.
    PIE chart is showing only one slice when I select Data for the PIE Char is "For all records".
    Could you please let me know how to set the different colors for slices?
    Thank you

    hi,
    As you are selecting 'Color Highlight' for different Pie Slices,  "For all records" option shouldn't be selected.
    It should be "On Change of".
    Then obviously you will see the colors specified in 'Color Hghlight' tab.

  • Change Column Header / Column Background color based on a value in a specific row in the same column

    SSRS 2012
    Dataset (40 columns) including the first 3 rows for Report layout configuration (eg: the <second> row specifies the column background color).
    Starting from the 4th row, the dataset contains data to be displayed.
    I would like to change the background color of the ColumnHeader/Column based on the value in the same column in the <second> row.
    How can I accomplish the this requirement? (this must be applied for all the columns)
    Thanks

    Hi Fasttrck2,
    Per my understanding that you want to specify the background color of all the columns/column header based on the value in one special column of the special row, right?
    I have tested on my local environment and you can add expression to condition show the background color in the columns properties or the column header properties.
    Details information below for your reference:
    Specify the background color in the Column header: you can select the entire column header row and in the properties add expression in the Background color :
    If you want to specify the background color for the entire column, you can select the entire column and add the expression, repeat to add background color for other columns.
    If you want to specify the background color based on the value in the specific columns and row, you can create an hidden parameter to get the list of values from the  specific column, specify the Available values and default values by select "Get
    values from a query", finally using the expression as below to get the specific value you want:
    Expression(Backgroud Color):
    =IIF(Parameters!Para.Value(1)="1221","red","yellow")
    If your problem still exists, please try to provide some smaple data of the report and also the snapshot of the report structure to help us more effective to provide an solution.

  • Setting Color Values Example

    When looking in the help file in Flash CS3, under "Setting
    Color Values", they have an example of changing the color of a car.
    When you click on the paint chip, the car changes to that color,
    leaving the shadowing and everything else present on the car.
    When I run through the tutorial on the screen where it shows
    you how to set it up, it works but it takes the entire image and

    How do they just get that color to change on the car and
