Setting OMCQ User specific.

Hi All,
Transaction OMCQ is used to set the error messages in SAP standerd applications but I want to make it user specific, though in OSS Note 935755 SAP has suggested to work with this transaction by making it user specific , but steps  are not given, Can any body suggest me how to make it user specific.

Hi
You have to create a version for the actual message by copying the same.
Example:
Copy the following message
<b>Verson   Application area    Mesaage
00                 06                     042</b>
as
<b>01                 06                     042 </b>
and against this message assign user specific message like error or warning.
Assign this version number to user parameter MSV in user settings.By defining different versions and assigning this number to users , we can configure user specific messages.
I think this will solve your problem.

  • ALV Grid Layouts - Setting them user-specific

    Hi everybody -
I am using the ALV grid layout for a report using function module REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY.  There are a number of fields that are not immediately viewed on screen - they are in hide mode within the field catalog.  We want to allow the users to add them / remove them from the report using an ALV variant.
I can allow the users to add/remove with a layout variant no problem - but I am having an issue allowing them to save the variant that they are using to view the data, as user-specific.  For whatever reason, they are only allowed to save their layout variants as global - the "User-specific" box is grayed out.
Does anyone know how I can get the "User Specific" box to be NOT grayed out within an ALV grid?
    Thanks!
    Abby

Set the I_SAVE parameter to 'U' in your function call.

  • User Specific Catalogs

    Hello everyone,
I have a client who would like to set up User Specific Catalogs using the same theme and I had no idea how to set that up.  Is that even possible?  Or anything remotely possible?  The scenario is that they have a "default" catalog that everyone has access to, and then each Business Partner has access to a subset of parts that is unique to that Business Partner.  The only thing that I could think of is that they were all given their own Catalog and Theme that they went to, which is doable a maintenance nightmare.  So BP C001 would have a catalog C001 of just their parts and their own theme that would link to http://c001.website.com or something like that which would be tied to their theme and associated to their catalog.  Then what happens if they go to http://www.website.com, maybe that would just have the "default" catalog.  Which also begs the question, can you associate one catalog under another catalog, so I could just maintain one "default" catalog (which would be part of everyone's unique catalog) and then add on other parts to the "parent" catalog.  I hope that this makes sense and maybe I am over complicating things, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Kristen

You could associate the user with a theme and that theme is associated with a specific catalog.
Theme copy, and catalog copy will come in handy, or the bulk operations to copy categories into a new catalog.
Also, you could associate a specific URL with each theme, so that when someone comes to the site it loads that theme and catalog before they login(provided they dont share the url with someone else)

  • Setting user specific contract data while creating sales order using BAPI

    Hi all,
I am creating sales order using BAPI - BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2.
Now my problem is that there is no structure for contract data (i.e. VEDA), system automatically set contract data using customization values.
I am doing some validations on cotract data in MV45AFZZ which fails, because these validations are performed on standard values, user specific values r not set.
How to handle this issue, your small clue may help a lot.

    HI
Pricing will be carried basing on the pricing
    procedure.
Case1: Prices will be carried out automatically if
necessary condition records are maintained for the
    condition type.
For this you can go to Sales Order-> Item Conditions
In the screen you can click on command button Analysis,
which gives you the list of condition types associated
to the pricing procedure. By clicking on the condition
type you can know the action that has taken place.
Case2: Manually forcing prices for Items.
To do this, you have to populate ORDER_CONDITIONS_IN &
ORDER_CONDITIONS_INX. Also note to identify the item
numbers, you manually pass the item number for each item
in the sales order, use the same item number for
    populating conditions.
      Parameters required:
    ORDER_CONDITIONS_IN:
      ITM_NUMBER, COND_TYPE, COND_VALUE, CURRENCY
    ORDER_CONDITIONS_INX:
      ITM_NUMBER, COND_TYPE, UPDATEFLAG, COND_VALUE,CURRENCY.
Hope the above info helps you. Do revert back if you
    need more info.

  • How to set user specific Layout for executing IW38/IW39  report.

    Dear Experts,
We have 10 users seperatly, For executing IW38/39 transaction they have maintained seperate layouts for executing the reports. While saving layout they have saved the layout as 'user specific' Now some body has chage the settings.
After changing the setting all are getting same layout.
Please suggest how to set user specific layout. When user enter the IW38/39 report by default he should get his layout.
    Thanks in advance.

Create Variant using SHD0 and with Group and assign to particular user's
    Here is the steps
    Creating a Variant Group
    1. Open transaction SHD0, enter the transaction code, and press enter.
    2. Choose the Standard Variants tab page, and then the sub tab page Variant Groups, and enter a group name, such as GROUP_GEN
    3. Choose Create. Enter a short text on the Maintain Variant Group window that appears and save the variant group.
    Assigning Users
Once you have created the variant group and the relevant transaction variants with screen variants, you now need to assign users to the variant group as follows
    1. Return to the Standard Variants tab page, Variant Groups sub tab page.
    2. Enter the name of a user that you want to assign to this variant group, and choose Assign. A message that this user was successfully assigned to the variant group appears in the status bar. If you choose a where-used list for users, this user is displayed in the user list.
    3. However, for the screen variants of the variant group that you created above to be displayed for the user, you first need to select Set Proposal. The user is assigned to the group and the associated transactions are started with the corresponding variants only once you choose the Set Proposal function.
You can use this procedure of user assignment for all other users that you want to add to the variant group
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks

  • Setting the home page to be computer, rather than user specific

I run a computer lab and would like to set the home page to be computer, rather than user specific. Is this possible ?

Use a mozilla.cfg file in the Firefox program folder to lock prefs or specify default values for all users.
Place a file local-settings.js in the defaults\pref folder where you also find the file channel-prefs.js to specify using mozilla.cfg.
    pref("general.config.filename", "mozilla.cfg");
    pref("general.config.obscure_value", 0); // use this to disable the byte-shift
    See:
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Locking_preferences
You can use these functions in mozilla.cfg:
defaultPref(); // set new default value
pref(); // set pref, but allow changes in current session
lockPref(); // lock pref, disallow changes
    pref("browser.startup.homepage", "&lt;your preferred home page&gt;");

  • How to restrict users to not default layout while creating a user specific?

    Hi all,
I have a problem with frequent changes in report layout setting. When users trying to create a user specific layout in the window "Default" is set, out of "User specific" & "default" checkbox defaultly, so users saving the layouts. so it's overwritting on existing layout. we are ossing the old data. how to restrict end users to create new one with out changing the existing one.How to change that default check in "Default" check box to user specific defaultly. where i have to do settings for this. Thanks in advance.
    Pradeesh

    Hi ,
My problem is still not resolved. I tried applying the people picker property and set a specific field(an email id field) to be available to only admins. Now the field is not visible to the normal users but only admins which is good but that email field
should be able to take normal users as wel as admin's email ID. currently due to the people picker property it only takes admin's ID and not normal user's ID - which is not as per expectation.
What this email ID field does is - when a normal user is logged in he/she wont see this field in that view. But when an admin logs in he/she can switch to admin view and see this field . The admin can put any user's ID in this field and pull out the required
    resource's Time Report for modification.
Please let me know how do i overcome my problem. Detailed step description will be very helpfull .
As per Cameron's suggestion (add a rule on the "additional admin section") , i am not sure how exactly that is done. Would help a lot if i got to know how this works.

    Guru

  • User-specific Selection Variables in Variants

    Hi,
I am triing to follow the tutorial in the help.sap.com concerning the variants.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/c0/980386e58611d194cc00a0c94260a5/frameset.htm
I would like to create a User-specific Variables for a variant.
I created set/get param for my report, I also created entries in the user master record. But: In the variants maintenance tool (SE38). First I edit the attributes of my variables and choose the selection variable option for some fields. Second I highlight in green the user specific column stoplight. But clicking F4 doesnt propose any value. Then saving doesnt work neither.
    Thank you,
    Younes

    Umar,
When I click on the button save a modal popup it says "Variables not supplied with values. Save anyway?". I dont know how to supply the variables with values.
With the Function module VARI_USER_VARS_GET I am not able to Read existing variable values. Also in the selection screen of my report the menu  Goto -> User variables is not enabled. Maybe I am missing something? Could you help me.
    Thanks,
    Younes

  • User-Specific Variable in Web Interface

I have created a manual planning layout with User-Specific variables – one for Sale Group and one for Sales District.
The variable successfully restricts user access to data when executed in SAP GUI.
A Web Interface was successfully generated from the Planning Folder containing the manual planning layout described above.
When I execute planning via the web, all possible values are displayed, even though the User-Specific variable limits this user to a single value for each variable.
Is there a way to restore the restriction defined in the User-Specific variable ?
I saw an earlier thread indicating that the “Planning Level” property of the Selector Variable Value for each variable used in the Web Interface Builder had to be set - but that field is protected from input.
Any insights would be appreciated !
    Thanks,
    Lyle

    Narasimha,
Each variable was created as :
    -     Replacement Type = User-Defined Values.
    -     Restriction of Values required by User = OFF.
    -     Input Allowed by User = OFF.
Several users are defined within each variable.
Most users represent Sales Representatives, with a single value assigned to each – a single Sales Rep is assigned a single Group and District ( i.e one-to-one relationship ).
The other type user represents a Sales Manager, and includes all the values assigned to the Sales Reps reporting to him.
When Restriction functionality is turned on, the following error message is received :
Restrict variable UDSALDST (Sales District - User-Defined) (area ZBILLIC (IC Billings Estimate)) to single value
    <b>Diagnosis</b>
Variable UDSALDST (Sales District - User-Defined) (planning area ZBILLIC (IC Billings Estimate)) is defined so that the user must restrict the values of the variable (indicator 'Restriction of values required by user' is set). However, you have not defined a restriction.
    <b>Procedure</b>
Restrict the variable or change the definition of the variable so that restriction is no longer required.
    •     To restrict the variable, choose Goto -> Set variables and search for variable UDSALDST (Sales District - User-Defined) in the list. Make the restriction and subsequently continue the planning session.
    •     To change the variable definition, choose the tab page Variables in the context of planning area ZBILLIC (IC Billings Estimate) and reset the indicator 'Restriction of values required by user'.
While the first option ( Goto > Set Variables ) seems to defeat the purpose of a User-Specific variable, I tried it.  When I use F4 to determine available values, it displays those previously assigned when creating the User-Specific variable !? – this doe not seem to add any more than I already have.
The second option effectively puts me back to where I was when I posted the question.
Of interest though, I noticed when the Restriction functionality was turned on, the “All” value previously displayed as available for selection was no longer available – but the specific values for each of the other Sales Reps continue to be reflected, and this user can select values related to another Sales Rep..
As mentioned in my original posting,
I saw an earlier thread indicating that the “Planning Level” property of the Selector Variable Value for each variable used in the Web Interface Builder has to be set – but that the field is protected from input.
Should this object property be ‘open’ to permit input ?  If so, is there a step or setting that needs to be performed.  Could authorization be an issue ?
    Thanks,
    Lyle
