Setting port range for Oracle Listeners

How do I configure MTS to specify which ports the Listener is going use when doing the redirect?
I'm setting up a firewall and need to specify the portrange used.
Regards,
Thorbjorn

Not sure I understand your problem. If by "Printed Range" you want to define the pages to print then this is difficult to do. Typically it's something you'd control in the data model since the report may be different each time you run. You could set something up like "print only the first 10 pages" by creating an appropriate format trigger on frame around your entire layout - if you didn't want to data drive this. However, I don't think there's any way to say print only pages 10-12.

  • How to set the environment for Oracle XE-database.

    Hi,
    I have a:- lsnrctl command not found,
    And when I echo oracle host & path I got:-
    [oracle@ddcdevws02 etc]$ echo $ORACLE_HOST
    [oracle@ddcdevws02 etc]$ echo $PATH
    /usr/kerberos/bin:/usr/local/bin:/bin:/usr/bin:/u02/oracle/bin
    Now I know that my environment is not set, but could anyone please assist me how I can set the environmernt ??? I mean commands or detailed instruction step as to what needs to be set where & how, I mean the SID, port, Path ???, I am new to Linux as well as database .
    When I see the listener process using this:- ps -ef | grep tnslsnr, this is the output:-
    [oracle@ddcdevws02 ~]$ ps -ef | grep tnslsnr
    oracle 14727 1 0 14:25 ? 00:00:00 /usr/lib/oracle/xe/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/server/bin/tnslsnr LISTENER -inherit
    oracle 22618 21569 0 15:59 pts/2 00:00:00 grep tnslsnr
    So does this mean that my Oracle home is "/usr/lib/oracle/xe/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/" ???
    Also In the host file under /etc/ directory I have these settings
    127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
    10.201.60.21 ddcdevws02.hddev.healthdialog.com ddcdevws02
    I don't know if this is correct or not ? But I doubt I could make any change in the host file, please suggest me.
    Thanks

    I've never worked with XE, but from everything I've seen, that would also be your SID. check the contents of /etc/oratab
    And then what other details required after I run this command ". oraenv", can I run this from any directory or some specific location ?
    Just like any command, you can run it from anywhere as long as the directory is in your PATH.
    But actually, you should be setting this in your profile, so that you just inherit it when you log on to the server. Depending on your OS, that would be either $HOME/.profile or $HOME/.bash_profile. Here are the commands you should have in that file:
    export ORACLE_HOME=pathtoyouroraclehomedirectory
    export ORACLE_SID=nameofyouroraclesid
    export PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/bin:$PATH>
    well I have this infor. with me
    HTTP port ---> 8080
    Port fopr Database ----> 1521
    Anythin else required ?

    I reasonably new to this DBA role and was doing an install of Oracle 9i on a new server, (only done an Oracle install about 3 times). Our senior DBA was out so when the screen came up asking for the port to use for MTS I couldn't remember if I should take the default (2030) or put something different in there, so I IM'ed our senior DBA and he told me to use 1521, (our listener port), by mistake. So when I finally get Oracle installed and runing I can't use 1521 with the listener as it tells me it is already being used. I know we don't have to use 1521, but I would like to so we are consistent. In order to use 1521 I need to change the port for MTS back to 2030.
    I've searched and searched and since we don't use MTS I cannot figure out where to change the port back to 2030. If someone could tell me in simple steps how to change this it would be really really appreciated.
    Thanks
    Gordon

    If operating system is windows then open registry, find oracle under local system/software,then find oracle MTS in right side u will see word "port"
    right click and modify its value as req

  • Setting Resource limits for Oracle user in 11gR2

    HI Friends,
    I am using Oracle Database 11g R2 on windows.
    My Application connects to the database using a schema (user1). Some times the application user sessions makes the Database usage / CPU/ IO high and affecting the performance of the Database.
    I would like to set some Limits on the Resource usage (Database and System resources) for those Application user schema (user1) to avoid the bottleneck on the Database and Server without affecting the usage of the Application on Transactions.
    How can i achieve it?
    Regards,
    DB

  • How to set Port Forwarding for video chat with AIM user?

    I'm trying to setup video chat between my Mac in the US (with iChat 3.1) and my friend's PC in Japan (with AIM). I need to know what ports needs to be forwarded on my friend's router, and/or on my router.
    Right now, when I attempt video chat with my friend (in Japan) at my home network, the invitation only works one way (me -> friend). And when I try to do it at work, it doesn't work at all.
    Help appreciated,

    Hi,
    I am also having a similar problem that perhaps others can help with.
    I'm using an iMac G5 with iChat here in the States, and am trying to connect to my parents' PC running AIM 5.5 on Windows XP sp2. To complicate matters, my parents have a Belkin wireless modem/router that they use to connect to the Internet.
    Currently, I can text chat with my parents, and send files to them via iChat. However, whenever I try to initiate a video chat, I get an error saying that "Phil Waymouth" (i.e. my computer) isn't responding.
    This is where we are at the moment:
    - Internal firewall on my G5 is turned off. I can port scan login.oscar.aol.com fine for both TCP and UDP.
    - XP firewall on my parent's computer is on, but has UPnP Framework (ports TCP 2869 and UDP 1900) set up as an exception.
    - I've gone through the stages on http://portforward.com to set up Port Forwarding on my parents' Belkin router. In addition, we've enable UPnP on the router and restarted it. However, if we use www.myip.dk to get the IP address of one of their computers, and attempt to port scan it, it fails.
    It feels like it's still either their router, or some ISP issue that's the problem?
    I apologise for re-hashing the same problem, but perhaps someone here will have a lightbulb moment!
    Any help is much appreciated,
    Phil

  • How I can set ORG_ID context (for Oracle Apps Views) in ODI designer tool?

    Hi All,
    I want to get data from apps views (like OE_ORDER_HEADER_V) into our data warehouse detination table using ‘Oracle Data Integrator’ tool.
    The issue is that when I reverse Oracle Table or Synonym directly, everything works fine i.e. after 'Interface' execution, I can see how many rows imported into destination table from this source Oracle table/synonym.
    But when I use Apps view as a source then 'Interface' executes fine with ‘no error’ but NO rows imports to the destination table.
    I believe, the only difference is that I am not able to set Org_Id before executing ODI interface so it is not picking the data.
    Please let me know the steps/instructions to set org_id context on apps view then reverse in ODI Designer tool.
    Please note that I can set org_id using SQLPlus successfully as given below (and see data using the same Apps view). What to do in ODI designer tool to achieve similar data:
    begin
    fnd_global.apps_initialize(0, 21623, 660);
    mo_global.init('ONT');
    end;
    -- connect using apps/apps at Vision SQLPlus
    -- User_Id -> 0 (<-- SYSADMIN )
    -- Responsibility_Id-> 21623 (<-- Order Management Super User )
    -- Application_id -> 660 (<-- ONT )
    -- select count(*) from oe_order_headers_v where rownum < = 100
    I would appreciate your quick help in this.
    Thanks in advance.

    Set org context in 11i:
    ===============
    The SQL command to set the ORG_ID prior to running a script is:
    SQL> execute dbms_application_info.set_client_info(&org_id);
    Enter the org_id when prompted.
    If using Toad
    Begin
    fnd_client_info.set_org_context(&org_id);
    End;
    Set org context in R12
    ================
    The SQL command to set the ORG_ID prior to running a script is:
    SQL> exec mo_global.init('AR');
    exec mo_global.set_policy_context('S','&org_id');
    Enter the org_id when prompted.
    The procedure - mo_global.set_policy_context has two parameters
    p_access_mode & p_org_id
    p_access_mode Description
    S In case you want your current session to work against Single ORG_ID
    M In case you want your current session to work against multiple ORG_IDs
    p_org_id: Only applicable if p_access_mode is passed value of "S"
    If using Toad
    Begin
    mo_global.set_policy_context(‘S’, &org_id);
    End;

  • Setting port exceptions for Windows Firewall via GPO. Is there a limit on the number of exceptions that can be set?

    We would like to utilize GPOs to manage our Windows Firewall rule set. We have servers that have different requirements (HL7 connections, other programs) and our doctrine is to only open ports that are going to be used.
    We need to be able to audit and enforce these standards, so GPOs seem to make the most sense to me.
    The problem I am running into is when I attempt to define multiple Windows Firewall Inbound Port Exceptions. (More than 10) After "Applying and Okaying" I will go to verify the firewall rule-set but I find that quite a few of them are missing. It
    seems like I am limited to 8-9 port exceptions per GPO.
    I am unable to locate any documentation about this, but we can work around this by creating multiple GPOs.
    Has anyone run into this issue before?

    > Has anyone run into this issue before?
    No, unfortunately. Our main server FW exception GPO contains 44 rules
    with port or program exceptions, and it works flawlessly...
