It still does not work.  I think that those quotations were just suppose to show that those values were empty... unless i missed something...

  • Help needed in setting up Japanese Database

    Hi there,
Help needed in setting up Japanese Database.
I created database with UTF8 character set on Sun Solaris O/S.
    Oracle version 8.1.7.
I am accessing the DB through SQL*Plus (Windows client).
I downloaded the Japanese font on client side and also set the NLS_LANG environment variable to Japanese_Japan.UTF8. Still, I am not able to view Japanese characters. O/S on client side is Windows 2000 professional (English). Is O/S (client) need to be Japanese O/S? When I try to retrieve sysdate, its displaying in Japanese but not all characters in Japanese. Can anyone help me out how to set up the client and is there any parameters to be setup at server side? I also tried to insert japanese characters into table through client, but it displaying as "?????" characters. Any help in this regard is appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,

    lol
your program is working just fine.
do you know what accept does? if not read below.
serversocket.accept() is where java stops and waits for a (client)socket to connect to it.
only after a socket has connected wil the program continue.
try putting the accept() in its own little thread and let it wait there while your program continues in another thread

  • Current Patch Set for Oracle Database Release 11.2

    Hi
I am upgrading oracle 10G to 11GR2 in AIX 5.3 Environment with SAP ECC6 , I have just just installled Oracle 11.2.0.1.0 according to the "Database Upgrade Guide -Upgrade to Oracle Database 11g Release 2 (11.2): UNIX". After database software installation , in upgrade manual in section 3.4.4 it says, you need to install current patch set for oracle database 11g R2 and referencing a SAP note 1431799.
I have just read note 1431799 which says Current Patch Set for Oracle Database Release 11.2 is not generally available for SAP customers until December 2010, also I donu2019t find the note 1522330 as mentioned in 1431799.
Please let me know how I can get current patch set to apply with Oracle 11.2.0.1.0 (Is it in SAP service market place?)
I also want to upgrade my installation to oracle 11.2.0.2, please let me know where I get the patch set to upgrade from 11.2.0.1.0 to 11.2.0.2,
    or
I have to live with 11.2.0.1.0 and apply SAP Bundle Patch ( SBP)

    Abu Al MAmun,
I understand from your posts that you recently upgraded to 11.2.0.2.
I am having the same difficulty, of finding the current patch set for 11.2. Could you please let me know how you worked around it?
    Thanks,
    Siri
    Hello Everyone,
I did read the post on to how you have to install the current patch set for 11.2.
But honestly, it pretty much flew over my head.
I am trying to upgrade our SAP AIX 64 bit test system from Oracle 10.2.0.4 to 11.2.0.2.
And so far I have downloaded all the required sw for the upgrade, except for the current patch set 11.2.
This is what I have right now:
    1) Oracle 11.2 AIX 64 bit upgrade sw - 51038805_part 1 to 51038805_part 7 and 51039800.
    2) Database Patches -->Oracle 11.2.0.2 -->
    All they have here is
    a. Database RDMBS - SAP_112020_201012_AIX.zip and b. SAP_112020_201101_AIX.zip
    b. OPatch - OPatch_11201_Generic_v3.zip and mopatch-2_1_6.zip
    c. Database Vault - DV - >Generic - p9656644_112020_Generic.zip
If I am not wrong, the Database RDBMS files are nothing but the SAP Bundle Patches that have to be installed after installing the currrent patch set 11.2.0.2 using MOPatch.
But I did not find the currrent patch set 11.2.0.2.
Could someone please explain the process to me in detail? This being my first time , I am finding it a bit hard to catch up with some of the stuff.
    Thank You!
    Siri

    Hello There,
I come for some help, I want to be able to set up a database on my computer but I dount know how to I am on windows XP could someone guide me though what I need and what to do please.
    Many thanks
    Lol

Pick one: Oracle, M$ (Access or SQL Server), MySQL, Sybase, Informix, IBM (DB2), PostgreSQL...
You mean you asked this question without having a database on hand? Have you ever used a relational database before?
    Do you know SQL?
If you answer "no" to all these questions you've got a lot to learn before you even bother with this forum, Java, or JDBC. - MOD

  • Reg setting up Logical database

    Hi,
I need to set up logical file system for generating Idoc. can any one help me in setting up logical file system and how to config the idoc to that location.
    I appreciate your help.
    waiting to hear
    Thanks,
    Kisu

    Hi,
I am not sure I understood your requirement. Your heading said "Reg setting up Logical database". But in your description you are asking about "logical file system". Then you say IDOC configuration. Can you please explain what you want to do?
You can create logical file using transaction FILE. If you are talking about RFC Destinations for Idocs(not logical file system), then you are talking about SM59. If you are looking for configuring logical systems for ALE distribution or workflow configuration, then you do that in customizing transaction SPRO under "Basis Components>ALE>Logical Systems--> Define Logical Systems".
Please let us know which one it is.

  • Setting the Required Database AL32UTF8 Character Set

    Hi,
How can I set the existing database character set to AL32UTF8 in order to use the database with Oracle Content DB.
How can I use the Database Configuration Assistant (DBCA) to re-create the database with the correct AL32UTF8 character set.
    Regards

Of course you can change the characterset value, but you need to follow some good explanation as the metalink notes below :
    Note:260192.1 - Changing WE8ISO8859P1/ WE8ISO8859P15 or WE8MSWIN1252 to (AL32)UTF8 with ALTER DATABASE CHARACTERSET

The solution to this problem is described in MetaLink note #211920.1. But this note is published with LIMITED access as it involves using a hidden parameter.

  • How can I set up a database program for inputing baseball team statistics that is compatible with numbers?

I have been asked to be a statistician bar and athletic team. We are playing Dartball, a game of darts that is based on baseball.  The previous status station used Apple works which included a database manager that was compatible with numbers. I have checked with the Apple geniuses online for my MacBook Pro and they did not have an answer to my problem. Is there a program that can be used on my MacBook Pro that will keep up with statistics for eight baseball team?

Im all for the dumb questions, because its probably a dumb mistake I did.
I have checked that both sus ped and exp. ped are fully plugged in.
Neither pedals show up in the Midi meter in the transport.
I dont know how to set a patch for the keyboard, but if both pedals work in other programs (i.e. Reason), wouldn't it not be an issue with a Logic configuration and not in the keyboard's setting? (Unless I have a separate Logic setting that loads automatically when it detects Logic is booted. I dont know how that would work though.)
Thank you for your prompt help, though. Any other ideas?

  • JDeveloper problem setting up a database connection

I am having some problem setting up a connection to my database. Before I say any more let me explain what I need. I need 2 database connections 1 to a 10g R3 database and one to an 8.0.5.
I do realize that JDeveloper will only connect back to 8.1.7 because of the JDBC version that is installed with it.
What I really need to know is "Is it possible to define and use 2 different versions of JDBC" I really don't want to move back to the version that works with both because I am afraid of what performance/benefits I will lose from the latest and greatest.
The latest version that I can determine will work with 8.0.5 is the last version for 9i.
    Any Ideas would be helpful.
The reason for this situation is that I have a production database that I will have to keep up with until the full version of the system is complete so that is why I even care about 8.0.5.
    Thanks alot for your time,
    Thom

I have a similar problem and I would much appreciate any help in this matter.
I have a wireless network set at home with two computers connected to it:
My workstation called Home-ws and my laptop called Acer. I can access the d:\ drive of my workstation from my laptop without any problem.
On my workstation I installed the Oracle 10g product and on my laptop I installed Oracle SQL Developer. On SQL developer I am trying to create a connection to the Oracle server:
    My settings are as below:
    Connection name: orcl_system
    User name: system
    Password: ******
    Host name: Home-ws
    Port: 1521
    SID: orcl
When I push test I am getting the following error message:
Status: Failure –Io exception: The Network Adapter could not establish the connection
Are there any special settings that should be made set up a wireless connection to my database?
Then I did the following things below:
    1. I downloaded from oracle.com the instantclient-basic-win32-10.2.0.2-20060508.zip file and unzipped it in a folder called instantclient_10_2. There were a number of DLL and two jar files plus sqlplus.exe
    2. I started sqlplus from that server
    3. sqlplus failed with a similar error as sql developer.
    4. I checked for tnsping. There is no tnsping such and exe on my laptop. I looks like I have to install the DLLs I downloaded them but there are no instructions about how to install them. Should I just copy them in system32 folder?
    5. I looked for firewalls on my Home-ws workstation (where my oracle server is installed) and on my Acer laptop. The firewalls were activated. I added on exception called oracle for port 1521 on both computers and tried to connect again. I tried with both TCP and UDP options and it did not work in both cases.
I am out of ideas. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your help.
    Julian

  • Set password for database connection at runtime

    Hi there,
is it possible to set the password and/or the user for the database connection at runtime.
The use case is to read the values from a file and decrypt them, and the to establish the conenction. So that i don't habe to redeploy everything if there is a change.
    Thanks in advance.

How exactly do i set these values for the datasource?
Edited by: Alex on 15.02.2012 09:50
    €: JDeveloper 11.1.1.5.0
The use case is, that there is a file with an encrypted password. This should be decrypted and then be used for the connection. So when this encrypted passowrd changes, i don't want to edit and deploay the app once again. Instead the new encrypted password should be decrypted via code an then be used.

  • Foreign character sets in a database

I am developing a site where people in many countries (mainly
Scandinavian) can log on and update their pages. The information,
(including passwords and usernames) is stored in an access
database. I am using Access because I have no knowledge of PHP /
SQL, and the site is unlikely to exceed the limitations of Access
    for a few years.
Does Access change the format of text, or do I have to set up
some special encoding? I find that if I type in the username and
password using an english keyboard, when the original was set up
using a foreign keyboard I cannot log in. The reverse also applies.
I am using CS3 in default mode - using utf8. Should I be using
Westren European encoding, or is Access the fly in the ointment?
Or is it likely to be another problem.

    Hello,
Specifying the character set for a WebLogic webservice (see:
    http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs81/webserv/i18n.html#1069629) is one of the
many enhancements made since the 6.1 release. If possible, the best
solution for your webservice development would be to upgrade.
