Setting up a link

I put my query output in a table :
<td>#qry.field_name#</td>
How do I create a link for this ? Using <td><a
href="#qry.field_name#"></a></td> does not work.
If I click on the value inside #qry.field_name#, I want to
take that value and open another page. It seems simple enought, but
I cannot seem to get it to work.

Different character sets on database links

Does someone know, how to select data from different machines with different character sets via database link transferring the umlauts correctly ?
The destination instance uses we8iso8859p1, the source machines have us7ascii (SAP) or we8iso8859p1. It is NOT allowed to change the character sets on the source databases!

This is not so easy to solve. The correct procedure is to fix your non-ASCII database to reflect the correct character set encoding of your data. Have you checked with SAP to see whether it is really not possible/supported to change the application db character set ?
The only workaround that I can think of ,is to create another database with 'WE8ISO8859P1' as the db character set. Populate it with the data you need from your SAP database using either SQL*LOADER or from insert statements generated by SPOOLing out the data using SQL*PLUS

Setting up Navigational Links

Hi everybody!
I would like to call custom view (copied from standard view).
1. Copied view "IRecPartner" into application Z_CRM_IC.
2. Defined custom IC Web Client & IC Web Client Runtime framework profiles.
3. Defined navigational link through application Z_CRM_DT_REP.
   Made changes for Page fragments:
   CRM_IC_All_NavLinks.xml
   CRM_IC_All_Viewsets.xml
   IRecNavigationalLink.xml
   IRecViewSets.xml
   In page "IRecNavigationalLink.xml" changed navigational link for view "IRecPartner".
Requirement: Execute "CRM_IC" --> Interaction Record --> Partner.
Instead of standard "IRecPartner", it should call custom (copied) "IRecPartner".
But on the same page, it should show one custom view and others as standard ones.
In my case, after click on "Partners" button of "Interaction Record", it shows only one
view (custom IRecPartner), but no other standard view is being displayed.
Can anybody guide me for setting custom navigational links?

Solution found: another dev had added a RESET_STATE process on the login page and I guess that was blanking out all the parameters that were in the URL; I removed that and tested things and they are back to normal now.

How to set the HOME link from two frame jsp page to no frame main page?

i have one main jsp page named as main.jsp.
From the main.jsp, i can click the button and link to the twoFrame.jsp.
This twoFrame.jsp have another two different jsp inside the frame called Aframe.jsp and Bframe.jsp.
i try to put HOME in the Aframe.jsp(one of the page inside twoFrame.jsp) but only the Aframe.jsp manage to link to main.jsp but the Bframe still there.
My question is: How to set the HOME link button from this twoFrame.jsp to the main.jsp? what i want is from twoFrame.jsp(two frame) to main.jsp(no frame).

But as a more specific answer, you have to set a target for the link to the _parent of your frame:

in rsbbs you define your query as sender object. Then you create jump targets in there. You will get a list of possible target types such as r/3 transactions, other queries and also web sites.....
Select the appropriate type and enter the value for it. These targets will be available by right clicking on the query result using the option 'jump to' or 'goto'.

However after I login to BPC Admin consol, I notice that Set Application Parameters link not activate under Web Admin Tasks of Admin Consol.
Where should do this? Should I do it under Set AppSet Parameters?

In the non-web Admin Console, you should also be able to accomplish the same thing by going to the application, clicking "Modify application", then "Change application type", then "Modify Application", then choosing the "Currency Conversion" application option.
In general, this is how business rules can be turned on without messing around in the application parameters, and should really be the preferred method unless you have done some kind of customization that an application modification will interfere with.

Yes
Turn off the "Edit Together" option.
Navigate to the slide you want (turn thumbnails on temporarily if necessary).
Select the area you want.
Hyperlink in the normal way.
Repeat until you have linked all the slides you require.
Turn "Edit Together" back on.
I think I had to link the caption separately as I couldn't find a way of selecting them together with the image or grouping them. Each slide links to a different page no problem.

How can I set a right link Aggregations?

I have a Enterprise T5220 server, running Solaris 10 that I am using as a backup server. On this server, I have a Layer 4, LACP-enabled link aggregation set up using two of the server's Gigabit NICs (e1000g2 and e1000g3) and until recently I was getting up to and sometimes over 1.5 Gb/s as desired. However, something has happened recently to where I can now barely get over 1 Gb/s. As far as I know, no patches were applied to the server and no changes were made to the switch that it's connected to (Nortel Passport 8600 Series) and the total amount of backup data sent to the server has stayed fairly constant. I have tried setting up the aggregation multiple times and in multiple ways to no avail. (LACP enabled/disabled, different policies, etc.) I've also tried using different ports on the server and switch to rule out any faulty port problems. Our networking guys assure me that the aggregation is set up correctly on the switch side but I can get more details if needed.
In order to attempt to better troubleshoot the problem, I run one of several network speed tools (nttcp, nepim, & iperf) as the "server" on the T5220, and I set up a spare X2100 as a "client". Both the server and client are connected to the same switch. The first set of tests with all three tools yields roughly 600 Mb/s. This seems a bit low to me, I seem to remember getting 700+ Mb/s prior to this "issue". When I run a second set of tests from two separate "client" X2100 servers, coming in on two different Gig ports on the T5220, each port also does ~600 Mb/s. I have also tried using crossover cables and I only get maybe a 50-75 Mb/s increase. After Googling Solaris network optimizations, I found that if I double tcp_max_buf to 2097152, and set tcp_xmit_hiwat & tcp_recv_hiwat to 524288, it bumps up the speed of a single Gig port to ~920 Mb/s. That's more like it!
Unfortunately however, even with the TCP tweaks enabled, I still only get a little over 1 Gb/s through the two aggregated Gig ports. It seems as though the aggregation is only using one port, though MRTG graphs of the two switch ports do in fact show that they are both being utilized equally, essentially splitting the 1 Gb/s speed between
the two ports.
Problem with the server? switch? Aggregation software? All the above? At any rate, I seem to be missing something.. Any help regarding this issue would be greatly appreciated!

If you ran two streams simultaneously, then you should see a difference between a single 1G interface and an aggregate of two 1G interfaces.

Can I use Automator to set up a link in TextEdit as some kind of hotkey?

I am a fan-o-textedit, but I wish I could get to some of the options in the menus a little easier. Going to to Text, and than to Link--there appears to be no hot key for this operation. Does anyone know how I can go about setting up my own hot keys for TextEdit? Can Automator help me to accomplish this? I am new to Automator.

You don't need Automator for this. First, go to System Preferences > Keyboard & Mouse > Keyboard Shortcuts. Then, add a new shortcut (by pressing the "+"), and select TextEdit as the application. Enter "Link…" as the Menu Title (without the quotes) - the ending of that command is an ellipse, not 3 periods (you can insert that character from the Special Characters dialog). Key in the Keyboard Shortcut that you want to use (command-L, or whatever), and there you go.
