Setting up login Authorization

I was setting up Login Authorization using step by step instructions from

At the "Edit Execution Precedence" step, when I click on that, it opens the other window but teh "Add" button is disabled. Can you please help me figure out, why it is disabled?

it's because, there are no initialization blocks exists... in ur rpd
First create Authentication initialization block, then add this as precedence list of other initialization block: Authorization(as per the blog)

I want to adapt a solution to your existing architecture.
I would suggest using an Event Structure (Producer) with a Consumer Loop. You would start with an initial event which would prompt for a password (and maybe allow three trials) that upon a bad password would trigger an alarm. You could pass the alarm trigger and reason for the alarm using a queue to the consumer loop that would wait for an event in order to proceed with anything (including a new command). That way, commands would automatically be locked out since it would require a login to allow changing states in the producer loop. Oh yeah, the consumer loop would have a state machine.
Using an Event Structure would allow to code a solution that allows to "log out" thus locking out any other command attempts.

User Stuck at Applying User Setting after Login

I have windows server 2008r2 remote desktop environment. All my users stuck at Applying User Setting after login. I disabled remote desktop network interface for some time, then enabled and all fine. Checked logs in detail and nothing unusual found.
Could anyone assist to avoid recurrence of issue.

Does both the issue happens on same server? Is that same server with domain joined?

Server stucks at Applying Computer Settings after every reboot
From the issue it seems that DNS server is not getting properly communicate for the server and due to that reason you are getting slow connection response from the DC to connect. If you are using DHCP in your network, you need to check the DHCP server setting
also for properly assigned IP address to the server. You can run “ipconfig /all” and check the DNS setting on your affected server.
In addition to above one, you can edit the registry setting for a test and check the result.
1. Open registry editor with regedit
2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\HTTP
3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click
Multi-string Value.
4. Type DependOnService, and then press ENTER.
5. Right-click DependOnService, and then click Modify.
6. In the Value data box, type CRYPTSVC, and then click OK.
7. Exit Registry Editor.
8. Restart the computer.
Actually there is Hotfix (KB 2379016) for server 2008 but you can try this solution for server 2008 R2.

Page items not getting set upon login in APEX 4.0.2

We just upgraded our APEX in development from 4.0.1 to 4.0.2.00.07. While testing found that in APEX developer, unless we press one of the buttons (Debug/View Debus/Show Edit Links) in the tool bar on the login page, the application/page items are not getting set to display the conditional items (page regions/buttons/Tabs etc,.) Could this be some setting within APEX Developer?
But the display is fine when the application is run directly in a browser, as an end user.
Is anybody else having this issue? We are holding off our production upgrade because of this issue.
Any help is appreciated.

If you mean application builder, you can not remove login page. You need always login to builder.
If you mean your own application then change authentication scheme

All Network Volumes set as Login Items open in Finder on EVERY startup

...after updating to 10.5.8
I have a Mac running on an otherwise all PC network. Before updating to 10.5.8 I had 5 network volumes set to "connect" on startup automatically (System Prefs / Accounts / Login Items). This worked perfectly and connected to these volumes silently without me having to ever worry about it. I didn't even have to check the "Hide" boxes.
After updating to 10.5.8 however, it became completely annoying. Now it still connects to these volumes, but opens up every single one in Finder upon every startup. That's 5 windows I have to close every time I startup my computer. It may not sound like the worst thing in the world, but mind you I have to log out and back in every day for work. Even checking the "Hide" checkboxes don't do anything.
Anybody experiencing the same problem? Anybody know a workaround or fix? My company has a rather large and complex network so staying connected to certain folders that I use is a must. Thanks.

Then I made a script and saved it as an application. I then put that application in my Login Items (System Prefs / Accounts / Login Items).
If you're having trouble finding the mount volume (or server) address, here's how you can find it: If you are currently connected to the volume(s) that you want to use, left-click it and hit Cmd+I (or right-click, Get Info). Use the address next to "Server:" - That's it!
Hopefully Apple will fix this bug soon so people don't have to make AppleScripts just to make the OS work correctly.
I wouldn't bet on it for leopard. leopard development has stopped now after snow leopard has been released. historically, Apple only releases security patches for old OS versions once a new one comes out. Interestingly, this bug is present in snow leopard too! or maybe they don't consider it a bug and this is how it should work. one can make a case for this, I guess.

1. for this u will also require help of basis team.
2. these are the steps.
a) make an entry in DBCON
b) make connection string
(on the physical application server,
so that it can connect to secondary database)
(this will be done by basis team,
in which, they will specify the
IP address of the secondary database server,
the DATABASE ID, and the port number)
c) then using open sql / native sql,
we can use the secondary database connection,
just like normal.
d) if we use open sql,
then there must be Y/Z table on
sap as well as secondary database,
and the field names , their type all should be identical.

Refurbished MacBook air - can't set-up/login due to keyboard layout

Hi,
I received my 'new' refurbished MacBook air today, on going through the initial set up menu, i couldn't connect to wifi, so i skipped this section and clicked through the location selection and keyboard selection - choosing UK for both. I set up the MBA to my external HD using a back up from my old MB.
When i tried to login to the MBA after this i couldn't as my password is in english, and it turns out the language setting is in one that is just symbols (i don't know which). So I can't even log in to the new MBA - and i guess the keyboard language is the reason i couldn't connect to WIFI.
Has anyone got any ideas? Thank you!

No it doesn't look like that - it looks like it could be a font or an arabic language - none of the symbols are recognisable as letters.
The e key doesn't work at all, and the enter key appears as a symbol rather than an enter function.

I am working on an existing application updating it to use custom authentication. When I changed the active authentication scheme APEX created a new login page (121). Why? How do I set it back to the login page I was using previously which I ahve customized somewhat?

Hosted Breeze - Setting Learner Login Preferences

Is it possible to set login preferences (such as Name and
email address) for learners before viewing a course which is hosted
on Breeze? Presently learners can click on the link which launches

Can't establish local login/authorization on 6500's

I have a need to allow a small group of users temporary level-15 access to several 6500
switches (running 12.2-33 SXJ2 code), but do not want to provide them with the enable secret password which is used on the
rest of the network (over 1200 devices). I tried to eliminate AAA using the "no aaa new-model" command, but was told I could not remove aaa while there were active sessions, and "login local" no longer appeared as an option for vty lines. So, I created a local user database called "support" which I used to replace the "group" entry in the authentication and authorization sections of our AAA config and for login on vty 0 4.
[The username is given a privilege level of 15 along with an individual password for authentication. (ex. username jsmith privilege 15 password 0 xxxxx)]
I modified our AAA configuration to support local login, but was unable to establish "enable mode" (i.e. # prompt) with any account. I
can login locally, but only to a normal "user mode" (i.e. > prompt).
Here is the current, unmodified and sanitized config for our AAA and line vty 0 4 sections. Please tell me what needs
to stay and what needs to go. Thank you!
P.S.: for security reasons, we want to track individual activity, so need the accounting portion of aaa to stay.

I will probably need more info before I can provide more help but from I am seeing in the snip-it, you have aaa configured and your AAA server is a TACACS+ server. If that is the case you should keep in mind the following:
1. If the authentication/authorization commands are referencing the TACACS+ group then you will need to add "local" at the end of the command. This will allow local accounts to be used when the AAA server is down/unreachable
2. Keep in mind that the local users will ONLY be used when the AAA server is down/unreachable. You cannot have a mixture of both
Side question, since you have a TACACS+ server, why don't you just create temporary accounts directly on the TACACS+ server vs local accounts? You can get very granular that way and only permit certain commands on certain devices, during certain time of the day, etc...

Can't login/authorize/use iTunes -1020

I can't seem to get the store to work either. It keeps throwing an unexpected 1020 error on one, and the other computer it won't let me authorize content or get in to the store saying my account info is bad. These machines were authorized, there aren't too many authorized.
I'm late to get out the door for a road trip, please help. I just need to authorize some songs on my other computer so they will sync to the new iPod.

Several websites are reporting this 1020 error. Theri advice is to wait until Apple fixes it on their side.

Listing users whose GroupWise account is set "Disable logins"

Is it possible to somehow make a list of all users who have "Disable
logins" checked? I need to un-check this box in order to facilitate a
migration to Exchange (don't bother) with Quest.

Managed computer Time Machine setting blocks login

I have seen this a couple of times with 10.7 clients bound to 10.6 servers, and now with 10.8 clients and servers.
I have machines bound w/ authenticated binding to the server so I get a machine entry in WGM / OD. I create a machine group and set a preference for the group for Time Machine (set disk and quota). Now, on the client side, I log out (so the MCX settings refresh) and all logins are blocked (both network and local users). I get the spinning gear and have to reboot with ARD.
I'm not sure what it is in the process that is stopping the login process - any ideas of where to look?

Just reset the Admin password for my account using the system disk and everything works now.
