Setting up the environment

Hello
I have just started working on Weblogic server 8.1 on a Windows XP machine.
In order to set up the environment I ran the batch file 'setWLSEnv.cmd'.
I noticed that the new settings for PATH and CLASSPATH variables did not reflect
in the values of PATH and CLASSPATH when viewed through the control panel on my
machine. Also WEBLOCIG_CLASSPATH did not show up either on my control panel.
Are these settings visible only to the Weblogic server and does this mean that
I need to run the batch file 'setWLSEnv.cmd" everytime I want to start the Weblogic
server.
Thanks for your help.
Naveen

You don't need to do anything in the environment to use a MIDI keyboard, it just needs to be connected via a MIDI input. If you select an Audio instrument track (as opposed to Audio or external MIDI track) you should see the track strip at the left hand side and a button labelled 'Input'. Click and hold on this and a hierarchical menu appears for you to select an instrument plug in, so select one and then play on your keyboard.

  • Setting up the environment in WLS 7.0 and deplying?

    Hi,
Previously I have used WLS 6.1.
I have set up the properties file and the required folders in the mydomain folder for the classes. It worked fine for me.
Now when I am using WLS 7.02.
This looks complicated. I have seen the documentation, it tells about different folders other than config like stage and server.
My question is can I use the same old environment setting as in 6.1 in 7.02 and deploy the applications as before.
If not, am I missing anything.
If anyone has worked on WLS 7.02, please let me know how you have set up the environment and deplyed the applications.
    Thanks in Advance

You dont have to setup anything extra for 7.x deployment. The server and stage directories will take suitable defaults.

  • Setting up the environment for a WebLogic Ant task

    The documentations always starts:
1.. On Windows NT, execute the setWLSEnv.cmd command, located in the
directory WL_HOME\server\bin, where WL_HOME is the top-level directory of
    your WebLogic Server installation.
2.. On UNIX, execute the setWLSEnv.sh command, located in the directory
WL_HOME/server/bin, where WL_HOME is the top-level directory of your
    WebLogic Server installation.
How much of what's in those bat files (or sh files on UNIX) do I actually
need? Can I set the environment in Ant without calling the batch files --
    i.e. no system environment variables?
    TIA,

Being a JBoss geek I cannot let it pass to recommend to at least investigate JBoss 7.1 as a possible alternative to Glassfish :)
Also MySQL works fine and is very common and thus very much documented, which is a big plus. But I would not pass up the chance to look into PostgreSQL as well. To me that is basically the perfect balance between the simplicity of MySQL and the power of an Oracle DBMS.
It depends on what you want to do with it of course, a simple web application works perfectly fine on MySQL, but then you probably also don't need the horsepower of a full enterprise container. You can also just use Tomcat 7 which is fast, easy to setup, well documented and doesn't use up so many resources either.

  • AppleMoblieDeviceHelper.exe - error while setting up the environment...

I am having problems with iTunes 8.2.1.6 on my Vista PC. I am getting the following two errors whenver I try to sync my iphone 3Gs:
    (1) 16bit MSDOS subsystem: c:\program files\common files\apple\mobile device support\bin\applemobiledevicehelper.exe - Error while setting up environment for the application. Choose 'close' to terminate the application. This error message continues to show up even when I hit 'close'.
    (2) iTunes was unable to load dataclass information from Sync Services. Reconnect or try later.
I have tried running both iTunes and applemobiledevicehelper.exe in administrator mode and that does not help. I have also tried reinstalling iTunes.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Sahil,
To address your scenario, while creating the configuration, select all the required agreements to create one configuration and then deploy.
Alternatively, you can also apply the latest patch MLR (10.1.2.3)

  • Runtime Error setting the 'Environment' when running with TWO executables

    Hello,
I'm using XML DB for the very first time, so this problem may be easy to solve.
I'm currently running a test with TWO separate C# Console executables.
One executable correctly sets up the Xml Environment, Manager, and Container and simply adds XML documents to the database.
The second executable simply is supposed to run some XQuery commands. I use the same Environment, Manager, and Container code to do the initialization. However, I'm having trouble with setting up the 'Environment' in this executable. I get the following error:
DbEnv::open: DB_RUNRECOVERY: Fatal error, run database recovery, exception code = DATABASE_ERROR
    On this line of code:
    Sleepycat.Db.Environment env = new Sleepycat.Db.Environment(envdir, envconf);
I've only seen code examples that run in a SINGLE executable. I'd really like to access the XML DB from multiple threads/executables, but am having trouble.
Can there be multiple 'Environments' and 'Managers' for the one XML Db?
Will provide more data if needed, and thanks for any help!
    Matt

I guess you addressing this in the wrong forum. I see tags like "sleepycat" and "C#", probably thats why nobody replied.

  • Adding a track when out of Objects in The Environment

    Hi,
I use GarageBand 2 (GB2) to get the idea down quickly when the inspiration strikes. It works perfectly for that purpose. To take a song from that initial idea to the finished product, I import the song into Logic Pro 7.1.1 (LP7).
All in all, LP7 is a very good-, comprehensive- and versatile product, but the one thing that keeps frustrating me beyond belief is "The Environment". I have read and re-read the documentation on "The Environment" several times, but I just hit a road block every time I need to add a track if I'm out of objects in The Environment (Audio, Midi or Audio Instrument). When I choose "Track -> Create With Next Instrument" and there is no "Next Instrument" left, I'm stuck.
My current workaround is that I add plenty additional "Real Instrument" and "Soft Instrument" tracks in GB2 before importing the song into LP7. The import routine takes care of setting up The Environment. But sometimes I don't add enough tracks and then I'm stuck again.
Can anyone suggest a reasonably straight forward way of adding a track once you're out of objects (Audio-, Midi- or Audio Instrument) in The Environment, please?
    Thx & brgds,
    ...tt

Well, I've tried both of those and that's where the problems arise.
If I do "Track -> Create Multiple..." I get the error message "No more tracks available".
If I create an Audio Object in the Environment, double-click on its icon to transform it into a channel strip, and then try to assign the desired channel, only the channels that are already taken appear in the pull-down menu. If I go back to the Arrange Window and choose "Track -> Create" a new track is created given the same name and linked to the same Audio object and channel as the previously last Audio track. Going back to The Environment I still only have the same channels as before to choose from.
In GB2, in Cubase and in Sonar all you have to do is create a new track and choose whether you want it to be an Audio track or a Midi track. I just don't get why it has to be so complicated in Logic?
    What am I doing wrong?

  • How do I set the environment to change outputs when I press a button?

    Hi guys!
This is a question for the Logic pros:
How do I set up my environment so that when I press a Button on my Midi Controller the Outputs from the Master Channel switch from 1-2 to 3-4 (to hear my music through different loudspeakers)???
Does somebody know how to do that?
    Thank you in advance!
    Greetings from Germany

The easiest way is to route your mix to all the outputs you're using. Then set up fader objects in the env that transform toggled cc's from your keyboard switches. Cable those fader objects to the output channel objects. To toggle the Mute on an output channel you'll need to send it a fader message #9, value 0 or 1, on channel 1.
That would work, as long as you have switches on your keyboard that can transmit toggled cc's.

    Hi friends,
Can you please tell me the steps involved in setting up the development environment for iSupplier Module with JDeveloper in my PC.
Please give me the details about what are the files to be downloaded from Apps, folder structure for development environment etc...

You should better pick the class files from the JAVA_TOP appropraite to that product and add it to either myclasses in your project in jdev or add it to the classpath.
Once you have these required files then you can launch the pages by either using a test.jsp or use the xml files directly if you know what parameters to pass. I would suggest you to use a test.jsp and launch the first page in the flow which launches from the menu - function by picking it's web_html_call.

Hi. A JDBC connection pool is a set of identical, interchangeable, pre-made
connections, and the controls to make sure only one user uses a particular
connection at any one time. If you want to have different DBMS users, you can
have a separate pool for each DBMS user, which may contain as many or few
connections as you want. Some applications has a pool for the accounting
applications, and another for the sales applications etc. Some do have a
separate pool for john, jane, joe etc, each with one connection. Pools
can be created and destroyed dynamically using the dynamic pool API.

    hi,

anilYour milleage may vary from others, here we had this environment setup for
a 7 people developing WLS applications:
    - Single server for development (Sun Solaris box)
    - using remote telnet from Windows workstation/linux workstation
    - create a source code repository (e.g. CVS) for source code control and
    user workspace
    - create standard deployment descriptor with modular directory structures
    - system admin only allowed to startup and shutdown server
    - server running in "Development Mode" for hotdeploy and avoid shutdown
    and restart.

  • Set the environment vars

Is there anyway to setup env variables inside java application. In CGI progs, I used to do putenv and setup all the environment I needed. How I can do the same thing in Java servlet or just java.
    -Raj

    Why?
Changing a env var will not affect anything in java. And it will not propogate back up once it exits either (very limited usage for this last case.)
And if you want to shell, via Runtime.exec() it has a way to set the vars for the shell.

    Hallo,
I don't know which O/S you are using and how your .dbenv-files looks.
However, as quick work around you could just add the following lines to the end of .dbenv_<hostname>.csh:
    unsetenv LD_LIBRARY_PATH
    setenv LD_LIBRARY_PATH /usr/sap/IDS/SYS/exe/run:/usr/sap/IDS/SYS/exe/uc/linuxx86_64:/oracle/IDS/102_64/lib:/oracle/client/10x_64/instantclient

  • Setting the environment variable

I just installed the rpm for the 1.4 SDK on my RedHat 7.1 box. Does anyone know how I can set the environment variable so it will recognize Java from the command line? Thanks in advance.

You need to set a couple of environment variables in your "profile" script. Which one, exactly, depends on the shell you use. It's probably .profile on your home directory.
    Try
JAVA_HOME=/usr/java1.4 (or wherever it really is)
    PATH=$PATH:$JAVA_HOME/bin
    export JAVA_HOME,PATH
