Sever is down

Hi All,
we use EP only for our SAP BI reports. Last time we have the following problems. Every two, three days is Java stack down. We have the impression that our report after the neu start are faster and after 1, 2 days they are slower and at the end is the server down. Maybe it is the problem with memory. Where can I check it? I have very little experience with EP. Any ideas?

Hi Erwin,
You can check the Portals logs to see details.
To see the logs you can use nwa(http://host:port/nwa) Go to mornitoring ->Logs & Traces and then you can select different options to see relevant logs.You can also check the logs from log viewer. The other option would be checking the logs directly from the OS level.
Following logs would be useful in your case.
1. Check default trace files in /usr/sap/<SID>/JC<Instance number>/j2ee/cluster/server0/logs
2. Check the std_server0.out logs in /usr/sap/<SID>/JC<instance number>/work. You would find other logs also in work folder.
Check the logs to see the activities which happened just before the server down. Probably its also worth to keep an eye on normal system performance at OS level.

Yes,its a specific service.
if the hyperion server goes down we usually do stop and start services by running some shell script, but we still dont what could be the reason ,why the hyperion server goes down.
How could i see the log when the server goes down.

DNS GUI and MX Records

I am setting up a new leopard server to do DNS for us and am not finding the GUI to that easy. 1 thing I need to do is setup some MX records for mydomain.com.
In the old zone file, the record looks like this:
mydoman.com in mx 10 mail.mydomain.com.
student.mydomain.com in mx 100 spam1.offsiteserver.com.
Does the GUI handle this kind of entry or am I back to editing zone files again? Also, if I edit the files, does that mean I never get to use the GUI?
Also, when I look at the current zone file, I still see "example.com." entries. How do we remove these when they do not show up in the GUI?

According to your description, you want emails go to Godaddy when your Exchange sever is down. If I misunderstand your meaning, please feel free to let me know.
If yes, based on my research, there is a feature about email forwarding in Godaddy. In this case, all emails are stored in Godadday, and Exchange server can store the emails which are delivered when Exchange server is on. I recommend you contact with Godadday
support for more information about the email forwarding feature.
However, I recommend you install multiple Exchange servers and create load balancer for them. Then Exchange server can work for you all the time.

Cannot connect to App Store nor to iTunes (support did not help)

Specific request: I have never been able to connect to the iTunes Store

Have never been able to connect to the App store, nor to itunes (support not able to help).
New MBPro last August, running OS 10.7.5, have a code for Mt Lion which I have been trying to download ever since. (Am confined to bed a lot so cannot just run down to Apple store.) Have never been able to connect to the app store or to iTunes (support could not help me: They simply documented the basic instructions, which has never once worked.) On and off over the months of trying both, I have had to make 4 different Apple Id's, each of which eventually stop working.
Have tried a dozen things from apple support forums. None worked. Have no firewall or antivirus software. This is what messages I get.
“Error -1202 and "Unable to connect to the App Store", etc. “ iTunes can’t verify the identity of the server “s.mzstatic.com.”.

Have tried changing date/time,(it's correct), making all blue security certificates " always trust" in Keychain and adding this (208.67.222.222) to network address under DNS, and fixed permissions literally 6 times in a row. Also, just added instructions to terminal all per online support.
If I didn't love my Mac I would sell it after all this frustration. Cannot begin to estimate the hours, days I've spent on this.

Problem in adobe application manager

After installing the Adobe Phtoshop setup, I was installing the Adobe Application Manager.
It shows a problem of server not responding.
what to do?

Perhaps an Adobe Sever was down try again see if it works now.

Major instability with Network Magic for Mac

First of all, I'm a long time LELA user which has been great for quickly gaining an understanding of what is connected to the network. I like being able to see both connected and disconnected devices.
I thought I would give Network Magic a shot since that is where the future direction is headed. It has great potential but right now is a major pain in the rear. I have a rather large home network with roughly 15 devices connected or disconnected at any given time. At first the network map worked like LELA in that it would show all devices disconnect or connected. I have two Mac laptops that have different IP and MAC addressses depending on whether they are connected via wired or wireless.
After installing the Mac client on both Mac laptops that's when the frustration began. It seems that with the Mac client software running on both Macs NM5.5 only wants to recognize one on the map at a time. Every few minutes I get an alert that a new device has been detected. But what really happens is the existing laptop drops off the map and the other will pop on. On the Mac itself it automatically triggers the Network Magic screen to popup which is a major annoyance. A few minutes will go by and then the process repeats itself. This laptop will drop of the network map and the other will pop back on. Again, this pops up the Network Magic window on the 2nd laptop which is an annoyance.
Furthermore, when one laptop drops off the... printers that are shared from another Windows PC are no longer available and accessible on the Mac. Rest assured... waiting another few minutes the process will repeat itself.
The other major downside is after installing the Mac clients the network map only shows the name of the Mac laptop and is always recognized as one device regardless of IP or MAC address. I no longer have two seperate IP/MAC devices showing on the map depending on whether it is a wired or wireless connection. I cannot look at the map and quickly know whether the device is connected via wire or wireless. Thus when I print a hard copy of all my network devices and settings I dont' get to see the MAC address and details for the non-connected MAC/IP.
Finally, the Mac client does not have the ability to "generate daily computer reports" of the usage.
At this point I am forced to uninstall the Mac clients until a solution for this problem is provided. I'm glad I checked out the trial version first!

Also for the Linksys folks... I'm not sure how all of the below information is relevant but if it gets you to resolve the problems and add the necessary features then great:

Device autorization failure

i boought an ebook on a store but i can only read it on the pc.
when i try to autorize the ebook reader on ipad, bluefire, the message is"...expired...",something like that.
When i use another ebook reader, neosoar, it says: password incorrect!!!!
i did the access on the adonpbe site ti test the password and it's ok!
SOmeone told me to connect my ipad to the pc via usb but nothing happens, maybe i have ti pass throgh itunes.

I connected my device and digital editions asked if I wanted to authorise the device. After several minutes my server went down. When I restarted, the device wasn't authorised but Digital Editions no longer recognised it as a new device.What do I need to do to get the device auhtorised?

no, i thought it was that the itunes store was trying to help it come out of recovery mode by updating it to latest ios 6.1.3 but then i saw that my friend was having the same ssue and somehow downgraded it to the latest ios for iphone 3gs which is 4.2.1 so if i can figure out how to do that, i will post on how to do that

Ipad askeing to "set up ipad" using itunes or WiFi

HI all,
I'm from india, my brother brought me a IPad with wifi option (Not 3G) from us. at first it was working fine. I connected the iPad with a wifi network in my office and it worked well. after that when i came back to home and tried to open the iPad it started showing WiFi networks available and a massage " Set up your iPad using iTunes if your WiFi is not available".
I tried with WiFi option But its not working. it says that The sever is down try again later (i tried lot of times)
Then i tried the second! option tried to connect with iTunes.but the iTunes says the The software in the ipad is expired (iTunes says 5.0 is the current version).
I don't know what to do now please please any one help me.

Are you saying that you have iOS 5 on the iPad ? If so then I assume that you are registered developer, in which case you should be posting in the developer forums : https://devforums.apple.com/index.jspa

Can't connect to the server at this time. OR ANY TIME!

Apple TV can never connect to the sever! Why is iTunes sever constantly DOWN? ANNOYING!

I have had this issue in the past but it usually cleared up on it's own soon after. This time it's been stuck in this "Can't connect to server" mode for days. I couldn't even go to settings to attempt to reset.
I finaly solved this issue by simply DISCONNECTING THE POWER SUPPLY AND THE HDMI CORD!!!
Wait a few seconds (10 is good) and then reconnect the unit. BOOM!!! There it is!!
I hope this works for everyone. :-)

Dns mx and res_query.

I'd like making a small dns client who get the stmp server where sending the emails for any given host address.
I use res_query, domain_name is a char* to the domain name.
res_query(domain_name, C_IN, T_MX, buffer, length);
the function fill in the buffer with the server answer, but how I can interpret it?
Seeking around I understood the first 12 bytes should be interpreted using this bit field.
But what about the rest?
It is not for spamming, it is just I am studying dns.

1. Define a site in DW using an empty folder for your local root: GS-01: Defining a new site | Learn Dreamweaver CS5 & CS5.5 | Adobe TV
2. Add your FTP information to the site definition
3. Click the Get button (down arrow) in DW's Files window while the new site is selected
4. Click "Yes" to the question "Download entire site?"
5. Once it's done downloading, you can double click items in your Files window to open and update them
6. Highlight the updated files in the Files window and click the Put button (up arrow) to load the updates to the server

Hello,
I have recently been getting this same message "You need to restart your computer. Hold down the power button for several seconds or press the Restart button." whenever I start up my computer. It happens about 95% of the time. I have been reading on different forums that I should reset the PRam and the NVRam and I have been doing so and it does help as it does EVENTUALLY start up (sometimes takes me 5-10 min. to get it to start up).
I have also read that it may be the RAM that is loose, so I did check that and made sure that the ram is properly placed (which it is).
I don't know what else I can do. Should I reformat and reinstall Mac OS X?

Well just got around to installing the new HDD and RAM yesterday, and I am sad to say... that the problem persists. :/
I reseated the memory and made sure they were in there properly, and I also installed the HDD and ran DiskUtility before I erased/reformatted and installed a fresh version of MacOSX Leopard, then updated to Snow Leopard.
As long as I am using my computer everything works fine, the problem occurs when the machine is shut off or put to sleep for a long period of time. Because when I shut it off and turn it right back on a few minutes later it works, or if I shut the lid and open it 10-20 min. later everything works fine, it's only when the machine is off or asleep for long periods of time.
So, I do not know what else can be wrong.
Should I try to take out the old RAM and just leave the new module in and see if that works out? See if that specific module is faulty?
