Sever Newbie wants to try his hand with Dynamic Images
First off, I am a new Flash8 user (less than 3 months).
I've read a lot of posts on how to create a SWF using Dynamic
Images, but to tell you the truth...I can't seem to figure it out.
I'd like to recreate the following SWF using my own data as
this particular link <

is not always reliable.
I've read that you must convert each image into a movie and
then load that movie using the loadmovie. I can PROBABLY figure
that part out, but I've tried creating a FLA and inserting a MOVIE
image but nothing happens.
Like I said, I am about as green as they come, but we all
have to start somewhere.
Any tips / help / links would be GREATLY appreciated.

I tried your suggestion, but it only works locally. When I
try it out on the Web, it doesn't work. I believe the reason why is
that I am trying to load a SWF from another website. Since SWF's
can't execute calls necessary to build the dynamic images...nothing
appears.
Is there a way around this?

To clarify, the mere act of changing the Apple ID on the device will not remove any content. But you cannot update the apps or re-sync them if they get deleted without the old Apple ID. It may be best to download them again with the new ID. -

Client wants to replace his PRI with Skype
I have a client that has a Cisco UC540 that is using a PRI with 23 channels of voice and wants to keep 9 of his DID's. He is wanting to know if Skype can do this and how much is the cost. Is there a Skype sales team that I can contact to go over pricing and specifics?
I know what he can get PRI wise, it is that just he wants options before he makes a decision. The PRI provider is actually giving him a great deal so that is not the question. The question is, with a SIP trunk, is everything still available such as DIDs, rollover, ect and has anybody set this up on the UC5xx successfully?

My boyfriend's laptop died yesterday and I was hoping to be able to back up all of his data (photos, contacts, so forth) from his iPhone 4 onto my mac, but I don't know how to do it without completely erasing all of his data? Is it possible? If so, how can I do it?

ThanksJust an FYI, your purchases from iTunes are associated to your Apple ID. So Apps, Music, Videos, etc, that were purchased on the App Store/iTunes are freely available to him when using his Apple ID even after restoring (ie: by going to the Purchased tab in iTunes, etc). You can sync his contacts and photos to iCloud (or other free services).

I'm trying to create a thumbnail object for an HLIST, the
data for the thumbnail is a bytearray containing an image in PNG
format. The data comes from a database in an AMF object via FDS. I
can see the data in the debugger, and it is not null, but I'm not
sure what to do with it now that I have it. (ie, how to turn it
into an image that I can display) Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

Transitioning with Dynamic images
I am working on a project now where I will have to call a
sequece of jpeg images and I will need to be able to crossfade
IMAGE01 OUT and IMAGE02 IN....etc. I need to also focuse this
inside one movie clip that resides on the master.swf file that is
loading other content in addition to the image sequence. Anyone
have any idea how to do such a thing?

Following a problem with my IPad and restoring it, I have lost the data in one of my game Apps ... I can see in ITunes/ pref my iPad back ups and want to try to sync with an older back up to get the data back. So how can I sync with an oldera back up?
In that same window - the one where you see your backups - click on the box at the bottom that say -Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads form syncing automatically. Then click OK and quit iTunes.
Connect your iPad to the computer and launch iTunes. Right click on the iPad name on the left side under the devices heading and select - Restore from backup. A window will pop up from which you can select any of the backups that you have for the iPad. Select the backup that you want to restore from and then go agreed and restore the iPad. Sync with iTunes when you are done.
Remember that when you restore from a backup - you restore everything in that backup to the iPad. You cannot selectively restore content. It is all or none. -
Recive a file with dynamic name

Are u using mapping program in ur interface? If yes you can go ahead with ASMA + Dynamic Configurations for renaming the file.

i have a little problem here.. I have an awt.Choice, when i pick one of the options, in a JPanel bellow, appears a bidimentional array of JButtons (JButtons[][]) all with ImageIcons, and they all together makes one image... the problem is that the image appears cuted and incomplited, but if i minimize and restore the window, it fully appears.. in other words the image is there, but it doesn't shows rigth.. haw can i avoid this.. thanks...
Make each of those areas into TWO images: A B&W one, and
a COLOR one. Just
do a simple image swap.

Hi all. I want to make audio chat with my brother. I use iChat on my MBP. He uses Gtalk on his windows PC. The problem is that the audio icon is gray so I cannot start audio chat. Is there anyway? Can iChat make voice chat with Gtalk on windows or not? I am confused.

You need to satisfy several things along the way
Account type
You need to have a Jabber or Google mail Account your self.
If you have a Google Mail Account then it needs the "Talk" option Enabled in your Google account Settings ( A Facebook with "Chat" enabled is also a valid Jabber ID to use in iChat).
Connection Method
This is about which apps can connect to which apps for Video ro Audio to work.
iChat Video when using a Jabber account is iChat to iChat Only.
iChat connects using a process called SIP (Session Initiation Protocol)
Jabber based Apps if they have an A/V module connect using protocol called Jingle.
Needless to say Google do their own version of this that is written in to the web Browser Plugin that allows Video Chats (there are PC and Mac versions), and in the PC app called GoogleTalk.
However it is also not that compatible with other Jabber apps.

This claims, now, that Google had a hand in writing the Protocol.
Also in the "Clients Supporting Jingle" list many more version of Google products are mentioned with extended info. (it suggests that someone at Google has been editing the page).
Can iChat make voice chat with Gtalk on windows or not?
The specific answer to this to be clear is NO.
We are talking about different Apps (or web Browser Plugins) using different Internet Protocols that are not compatible.
The simplest thing is to get the Web Browser Plugin (However there can be issues with the Flash Plugin)
At one time Google used Flash to do Video Chats and it would seem their Plugin is very close to this part of Flash.
See the Known Issues and the "Google Talk Plugin Disables iSight On Mac" item.
Options
Use a Web Browser yourself with the Plugin.
Use a Flash Base Site such as MeBeam (Flash has to be enabled in your Browser and the instructions are simple on the page)
Try to find a Jingle capable Mac Jabber Client (app) ( I have not found one).

i shifted from a windows to a mac.. I want to add songs to my ipod tpuch 4th gen.. but if i try to sync with itunes it says my songs will be replaced by the new songs.. Is there any way that i can have my previous data safe??
Your iPod can only be synced with one computer at a time. If you try to sync it with a new computer/iTunes library, it will replace the contents of the iPod with whatever is in the new library. You should probably disable the autosync functionality first by going to Edit -> Preferences, clicking the Devices tab, and enabling the prevent iPods,iPhones, and iPads from automatically syncing option.
Before doing anything else, authorize the new computer with your iTunes Account. In iTunes, choose Store -> Authorize This Computer and enter in the correct credentials. Either copy a backup file from your old computer to your new one or create a new backup of your iPod in iTunes before letting it sync.
Then right->click on your iPod Touch from under the Devices section in the left hand pane of iTunes and choose Backup. You might also want to take a look at this article to see what it all included in the backup.
iOS: How to back up
Now onto synced content such as music, videos, photos, etc. For iTunes purchases you can copy them back into iTunes by choosing File -> Transfer Purchases. For all other nonpurchased iTunes content, see this excellent user tip from another forum member turingtest2 outlining the different methods and software available to help you copy content from your iPod back to your PC and into iTunes.
Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device
Once the backup has been made and all other synced content such as music, videos, and photos are back in your iTunes library, restore your iPod from that backup you made earlier. Here is more on backing up and restoring your iPod.
