SFTP APIs...

Hi,
my application needs to talk to another system using the secure file transfer protocol (SFTP) - is there anything bundled within the JDK (I'll have to use JDK 1.4.2) or can you give me some useful advices and recommendations about free open open source sftp APIs?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

nothing in the JDK to accomplish this. Secure FTP Factory is not OS, but has support for all major file transfer protocols FTP, FTPS, SFTP, SCP

Java SFTP API/Sample application

I'm looking for either sample java code of how to send files via sftp or a java api to do this. Jscape looks to be the standard for doing this although it costs quite a bit, wondering if there is free code out there?

Check out JCraft's Java Secure Channel (JSch) project -- it's an implementation of SSH (with scp, sftp, etc.) in Java -- with some examples that might get you started: http://www.jcraft.com/jsch/

SFTP related processes do not die if parent process dies.

Java Version: 1.4.2_05
JRE: build 1.4.2_05-b04.
Running on Solaris 9.
Problem:
If the process using the SFTP API dies, the children processes created by the SFTP API do not end.
A side effect of this is that all the sockets the orginal parent had remain open as the child processes inherited them.
The JVM does close STDIN/STDOUT/STDERR to the child if the JVM has less than 1024 filedesriptors open at the time of the Runtime.exec() command.
However, if the JVM has more than 1024 filedesriptors open at the time of the Runtime.exec command the child will
a) inherit all filedescriptors above 1024
b) the STDIN/STDOU/STDERR towards the child is not closed when the JVM exits.
Has anyone seen this before?
I heard this maybe fixed in JDK 1.5. Is this true? Is there a fix on this in 1.4.2?

In this situation, the SIGLOST signal is posted to the process. The default action for the SIGLOST signal is to terminate the process.
For you to recover from this state, you must restart any applications that had files open at the time of the failure. Note that the following can occur.
- Some processes that did not reopen the file could receive I/O errors.
- Other processes that did reopen the file, or performed the open operation after the recovery failure, are able to access the file without any problems.
Thus, some processes can access a particular file while other processes cannot.

Method 1: Update the protection agents from the Data Protection Manager Administrator Console
Open the Data Protection Manager Administrator Console.
Click the Management tab, and then click the
Agents tab.

Note You may have to restart the computer after you install the agent upgrades.
Method 2:Update the protection agents on the protected computers
Obtain the update protection agent package from the following directory on the System Center 2012 R2 Data Protection Manager server:

Using SFTP with FTP Adapter: The SSH API threw an exception.

Our SOA suite veriosn is 10.1.3.4.
We have to get the file from SFTP server and put it on the SOA Server. (SFTP and SOA server are running in different machine)
If Incoming file and outgoing file directory is located in SFTP server..GET and PUT operations works fine.
but if I give Incoming File location = <SFTP location>... and Outgoing file location = <SOA server location>... I get the below error...

As per client's requirement, we shouldn't be using java service for this functionality.
And as you said, the oracle adapters are not taking anywhere, but guess have no other choice..

I believe SSH and telnet are used for interactive command line sessions, don't know how you want to use them in a program.

The requirements are
-It must support extensive encryption algorithms.
-It must allow generating public/private keys and authenticating with server by sending the keys first(before the actual file transmission).

Don't resurrect old threads, please. Start your own thread.
Better yet: google for "Java SFTP", look at what you find and come back when you have a specific question.
And: when you ask a specific question, then clarify if you're talking about the [SSH file transfer protocol|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SSH_file_transfer_protocol] or about FTPS, which is sometimes (wrongly) called SFTP.

SFTP sender to File receiver mapping of file names

My scenario is: sender channel = SFTP (Seeburger) transferring multiple PDF files to Receiver adapter File (NFS).
These PDF files need to have the same name as the original files from the sender (3rd party) system.
Because these files are being processed without an interface, I can't use UDF to help map the file names.
I've tried using Seeburger's localejbs/Seeburger/AttribMapper to map the names, as follows:
File (NFS) receiver channel config:
- ASMA boxes for 'Use Adapter-Specific Message Attributes' and 'File Name' are ticked
- Module localejbs/Seeburger/AttribMapper is on the first line in the module tab under processing sequence, with module key = AttributeMapper
- Under Module Configuration:
- Module Key = AttributeMapper
- Parameter Name = http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File/FileName
- Parameter Value = @http://seeburger.com/xi/SFTP/dtSubject
(I haven't entered any attribute module config on the sender side)
This setup fails on the receiver side with the message 'Delivering the message to the application using connection File_http://sap.com/xi/XI/System failed, due to: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.RetryControlException: Channel stopped by administrative task.' (not very helpful!). All I can get from that is that it doesn't like my module configuration!
Can anyone help me understand the correct way to do the file name mapping for my specific scenario?

We've got this working at last!
The main problem was indeed the missing .sca file from Seeburger: SeeModuleCollectionPI.sca
Our Basis team deployed this file this morning. After a bit of fiddling around with the attribute mapping, my test files were transferred successfully with their original names.
The config I ended up with is just as described in another forum post for SFTP to FTP, but I'll repeat it in more detail here:
Sender channel
Parameters tab:
Adapter Type = SFTP (Seeburger)
(sender, transport & message protocol = SFTP)
Scheduler = x in all appropriate days, with interval = 1 (minimum allowed)
(rest here is specific to your environment, but I set filename to *.pdf to get all .pdf files from the sender)

Issue in SFTP configuration in FTP adapter (Oracle SOA 10.1.3.3)

We are trying to connect FTP adapter to SFTP server and have made all the necessary configuration changes required to $ORACLE_HOME/j2ee/oc4j_soa/application-deployments/default/FtpAdapter/oc4j-ra.xml. Following properties are updated in this file.

Restarted the SOA server after configuring these settings. Created a BPEL process using this FTP adapter to pick a CSV file from a SFTP location and deployed the process successfully on the BPEL server. But FTP adapter is not picking the file from SFTP location and in BPEL log.xml we can see following errors:

It seems all SFTP server related settings are proper but still logs are saying it’s an issue with SFTP server settings. Also I am able to do SFTP successfully from UNIX prompt but the same settings are not working for SOA suite.

Java.lang.NullPointerException while using PGP module in SFTP receiver

We are trying out newly installed PGP module on SAP PI 711 SP10.
Scenario : SFTP to SFTP
While we are trying to encrypt the message in the SFTP receiver, we get the following error.

ya that "callsapadapter" was the culprit. It comes by itself, Once I removed that PGP was working fine.

How to put // infront of file name in SAP SFTP receiver adapater

Hello,
How can we put double forward slashes(//) in front of the file name in receiver SAP SFTP adapter? The receiving SFTP server is based on mainframe with VMS and for some reason the receiver system wants to have // in front of the file name.
I tried with all options of put // in the directory or part of the file name parameters in the channel,but I get following error.
Transmitting the message to endpoint <local> using connection SFTP_http://sap.com/xi/XI/SFTP failed, due to: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: javax.resource.ResourceException: 4: Putting ./'//TESTFILENAME' failed.
please let me know,if there is a work around for this requirement.

Usually filename schema will not allow you to put special characters. Please refer this link for restricts. Filename - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
You may also try Run Operating System Command option to execute Unix script to add '//'
Could you please let me know the file type ?
