Share as word doc

Used to be able to share a Pages document using the Share button and selecting email, but now I just get a beep and nothing happens. Have to export as a Word doc and then launch Mail and attach. Worked fine until upgraded to Mountain Lion and newest Pages update.
Using Pages, I create minutes of meetings and then distribute to a group via email. The old way was very convienient...am I missing something or has this ability been done away with.

I just ran a test with Pages again here. Chose the Send via Mail > Word option and it dutifully placed a Word document into Mail as an attachment. I then selected that attachment, hit the space-bar, and QuickLook opened the Word attachment in LibreOffice Writer, something I optionally installed in place of MS Word.
I have just systematically reviewed my Pages preferences and Inspector settings and see nothing that alleviates my consternation for your results.
My Pages '09 v4.2 was purchased from the App Store.

Word docs from pc to iPad

I can't figure out how to share a word doc from my pc to the iPad. I went through the steps in the manual but can't find the file share option they talk about in the app tab on iTunes. Any ideas?

Do you have Pages installed on your iPad? If not, I'm not sure that file transfer option will appear, though I'm not certain; perhaps someone else here can confirm or refute. If that is indeed the case, then you'll have to email the document to an account your iPad can pick up, or get Pages or one of the other iPad apps that supports Word docs and provides a file transfer capability.

It's difficult to do more than guess when you don't say what version of OS X or Pages you're running, but if you're on the latest, have you tried the Share menu -> Send via Mail command?
If that doesn't help, you may have better luck if you ask in the Pages forum:

I cannot send a Pages document, Word format via email from my ipad if it has a picture in the the doc. I can send a Word doc if it does not have a pic in it or pdf with a pic. Any thoughs why a word doc with a pic in it won't email in Pages? thanks

I cannot send a Pages document, Word via email if the doc contains a picture. If I email a Pages doc without a pic in Word format or pdf with a pic it with go through to sender? Not sure why Pages won't send Word doc with a picture in it. I check the security on the email recipient and the email doesn't get blocked or throw in the junk box?

If you have upgraded to Mountain Lion, Save As… has returned to the File menu when you hold down the Option/alt key. But you don't really "save" as other file types, you translate & export as Word or RTF or text or PDF & that is easily done by going to File > Export or Share > Export.
Also, please do us all a favor & don't use all capitals in your posts, either the body of the post or the title. All caps is the internet equivalent of shouting & is very hard to read.

Open Word Doc from form in web setting not client/server

Hello, I am new to form. I need to open a word doc (on client PC )from Oracle Form by a button click. I did some research online and looks like Client_Ole2 is the package I need. But when I looked into my Build-in Package (in forms builder), I only see OLE2, TEXT_IO etc. So when I try to declare a variable which is CLIENT_OLE2 like some post suggest, I got error message "identifier CLIENT_OLE2.OBJ_TYPE must be declared".
So is that means that I need to install/setup WebUtil on my env to get this Client_Ole2 to show up on Form Builder?

I found the way to add webutil.pll to attached Libraries.This is the wrong way. Open the webutil.olb in the Forms Builder. Then open your form you want to add the Object Library too. In the Object Libraries node of the Object Navigator - double-click on the WEBUTIL node. This will open the Object Library properties window. Click on and drag the WEBUTIL entry to the Object Groups node of your Form. You will be prompted "Do you want to copy the object or subclass it?" Click on the Subclass button.
Subclassing is a Forms method that allows you to share a single source of an object/code between multiple Forms. It is Forms' way of implementing inheritance.
I also copied them to /forms/java directory too.This is not necessary. I recommend you delete the files you copied to the /forms/java directory. Forms will find the libraries if the .../forms directory is listed in your FORMS_PATH environment variable (see the default.env file). The /DevSuiteHome/forms directory should be the first directory listed in the FORMS_PATH variable.
Remove path?". So I selected Yes. But when I run form, I got FRM_40039: Cannot attach library webutil while opening form ......".The fact that you are getting this error indicates that the /forms directory is NOT part of the FORMS_PATH.
If I choose No to keep the hard code path, then if I deploy the form to testing server or production server, it will become problem! Right? How to solve this?Double-check to ensure it is listed. The variable entry should look something like:

Is it possible to add a word doc (as a separate file) in Captivate?

This could help to satisfy 508 compliance. This is in addition to the closed captioning feature, which I plan to incorporate.
FYI - I used Articulate Presenter in the past and was able to attach a Word Document, which user was able to access via link.
It would be nice to have a word doc incorporated into the stand-alone Captivate outpout.

Welcome to Adobe Forums.
You can add a word doc in Captivate as a separate file.
On a button or click box you can select the Action to "Open URL or File" and then type the name of the word doc in URL box. After publishing the output paste the word doc in the output folder and this will open the word doc as a separate file from the button.

Why do lines show up after converting Word doc?

Acrobat X Pro
After converting a regular Word doc, which doesn't 'appear' to contain lines around the paragraghs, contains lines in the PDF. I believe I have chosen the highest quality in the convert settings, and cannot figure out why I'm getting this junk in the PDF. I'm only having issues with a Word file received from the same person.
How do I clean up the Word doc before converting, I guess is the real question...

Problems opening Word docs with form function

Does anyone know how to open a Word doc & keep the forms function? I have to fill out quarterly reports. When I open this type of Word doc, Pages eliminates the checkboxes and text boxes. A pain point, but Word doc is still usable.

How to import MS Word docs into a Wiki (with embedded images

What is the best way to import a lot of large MS Word docs (50+ pages) with images into a Wiki-Folder?
I know that you can copy&paste the text and still preserve the formatting, but i'd still have to import the images manually.
Is there something planned like Word2MediaWikiPlus?

Numbering in topics created by importing a Word doc

I have created a project and imported a single Word file that
is 88 pg. in length and that uses Word's styles to create bulleted
and numbered paragraphs. In the HTML topics, the HTML code follows
the pattern below for all lists:
first bulleted item

bulleted item</li>
Of course this causes the text to appear without bullets (or

- the <ol... tag is missing

read the detailed articles about importing Word docs, because I
thought they applied only to earlier versions of RoboHelp. Having
reviewed them, I feel A LOT BETTER and have a better understanding
of what's going on "under the covers." Also, I've now spent some
time reviewing & modifying the stylesheet & HTML directly
in the topics, so I'm better prepared to understand the HTML code
you include.
Nonetheless, the original problem I posted still mystefies
me. As you suggest, I'll have to so some experimenting to
understand what's causing the first bullet or numbered item to be

class=classname>.
As I stated earlier, it may just be that this particular
document's checkered past will require that I use your (thank you!)
macro to remove the formatting of bulleted & numbered
paragraphs & reassign bullets & numbering.
This leaves one final question: For RoboHelp 7 specifically,
do you advise setting bullets & numbering using styles, or the
Word toolbar?

Publishing TOC in Word Doc

I have a module that includes a table of contents that I would like to publish as a Word doc. When
I publish it, the slides are missing the table of contents. Is there a way to include the table of contents in the published slides?

Funny you should mention sharing Captivate with reviewers. I started looking yesterday into that and have found some issues there that I am scratching my head about. I chose to use the collaborate feature to share my module with others using an internal server. Here's what I've found so far:
1. You have to put the location of the module in the e-mail because Reviewer 2.0 will open up the default location instead of where the module is located.
2. CREV files appear to be short lived. I can create a CREV file and look at it one time, but the next time I try to view it I get the endless searching circle.
Are the CREV files only supposed to be capable of one viewing? If I want to look at it again, it seems like I have to republish it.

I'm trying to convert a pdf file into a word document but i'm unable to do it. the reason is i want to fill in an income tax form which is in a pdf format and i can't add any details in the file...
How do i convert this file into a word doc file, someone can help plz,,,step by step as i'm not really an expert in this field..

If you have adobe X, simply go to "File" -> "Save-As" and Microsoft Word is an option. Also, there is a download (paid) called Able2Extract that will allow you to convert pdfs to word, excel, etc. but the formatting is often lost. If you get the premium package, you can even convert scanned documents. I've used Adobe X to do the conversion, and it retains headers, footers and all formatting.
And i personally share you with a article about how to converting PDF files to Word(.doc), you just need to follow the easy guide.

"Merge files into a single PDF" does not support Word Docs

I am using Acrobat 9 and Office 2007. I am trying to convert 100 Word docs into a single PDF. However, Word is not supported. In acrobat, I go to preferences and then Convert to PDF, Word is not listed. I have excel and powerpoint but not Word. Anyway to include Word as supported documents?

What was your workflow to change the word doc to PDF format.
The Acrobat application/Service does not change the original document it makes copy of that document and converts to another format you choose.
Please share your steps that you choose to convert the word doc to pdfs.

Can no longer attach Word docs to Mac Mail

I've been using the command from within Word for Mac 2011 File>Share>E-Mail(As Attachment) until about three weeks ago when clicking on that command would bring the Mail.app window to the front, and then nothing would happen. When mousing over the Word doc I wanted to attach, I'd see the spinning beachball for 30 seconds or so. Then the beachball would stop spinning and nothing else would happen.
I've reverted to saving the file and then attaching it by using paperclip icon in Mail and navigating through the Finder -- not the easiest, but serviceable.
Any ideas on how to restore this functionality before I do what I should have done long ago, and that's toss Word out and use Pages exclusively? Thanks!

You go to System Preferences>Users & Groups
Click on the lock icon to make changes
Click on the + sign above the lock to add a new user called "Test"
I did this only to see if the problem was system-wide or isolated to my user account (which is what turned out to be the case).
So creating a Test user doesn't resolve the problem, it troubleshoots it. I'm still not sure what's causing it.
