Shared Services rep tables ver11

Hi,
I need to know the default name of the repository schema of Shared services ver 11.
I need to get a list of repository tables that are created by Hyperion Shared Services, and what the functionality of each table is.
Can anyone help me out in finding this information?
Thanks in advance.
Rgds,
Anindyo Dutta

The name of the schema will be the name you define when you configure the database section for foundation
I doubt you will get the functionality of each table but you just need to look in the schema at the tables created, though if you used the same schema for all products then it wouldn't be much use.
An example for 11.1.1.3 HSS tables is :-

  • Neet to locate the shared services native users in SQL server tables

    Hi All,
We are using Hyperion Shared services to provision users to essbase, planning and HFM(all version 9.3.1). And we are using SQL server 2000 as the database. We created few native users in shared services and provisioned them to HFM, Essbase and Planning. Now we need to find those native users' information in the underlying SQL tables. I followed the documentation and sync-ed the native to relational tables using shared services, but I cannot see the user info for all the users I have created. I would appreciate if you can suggest me how to find the shared services users' and roles information in SQL tables (in the back end).
    Legards,
    Leo

    Hi,
There are a number of free Ldap browsers that you can download, e.g.
    http://www.mcs.anl.gov/~gawor/ldap/demo.html
    http://www.ldapbrowser.com/download.htm
Once you have installed then ldap browser you just need to point it to your Openldap
Host :- machine with OpenLdap running
    Port :- 58089
    Base :- dc=css,dc=hyperion,dc=com
    User DN :- CN=root,dc=css,dc=hyperion,dc=com
And just the root password which you can change in HSS in 9.3
    Cheers

  • IOP 11.1.2.0 integration with Shared Services (User Provisioning)

In the IOP 11.1.2.0 install guide, the Admin and Admin provisioning roles are provisioned through Shared Services.
"Provision Integrated Operational Planning Administrator and Integrated Operational Planning
Provisioning Manager roles for the Integrated Operational Planning instance to the Admin user through
    Oracle's Hyperion® Shared Services Console
    a. Connect to the Oracle's Hyperion® Shared Services Console; for example, http://
    hss_server:hssserver_port/interop.
    b. Log in as the administrator.
    c. Expand User Directories and Native Directory.
    d. Select Users and click Search.
    e. Right-click the Admin user and select Provision.
    f. Expand Default Application Group.
    g. Expand the Integrated Operational Planning instance created.
    h. Highlight IOP Administrator and Provisioning Manager.
    i. Click the right arrow in the middle of the two windows to select the roles.
    j. Click Save, and then click OK."
The users and groups are defined in Shared Services, per the IOP 11.1.2.0 admin guide (p. 144).
Is there an IOP user provisioning example in the shared services user's guide, and which version of the guide would I find that in?
Access priveledges are controlled from the Admin workbench for IOP users, per p.145 of the IOP 11.1.2.00 user's guide.
    Thank you.

IOP Roles are listed in the 11.1.2 Shared Services User and Role Security Guide, on page 158:
    Integrated Operational Planning Roles
Table 39 Integrated Operational Planning Roles
    Roles Tasks per Role
Provisioning Manager Provisions users and groups with Disclosure Management roles
IOP Administrator Administers Oracle Integrated Operational Planning, Fusion Edition. IOP Administrators can modify models, access
ACL pages, and perform all Integrated Operational Planning tasks
IOP User P erforms Oracle Integrated Operational Planning, Fusion Edition actions as a normal user

  • Shared Services 9.3.1.1 HyS9SharedServices.exe process

We recently started to notice that the HyS9SharedServices.exe process grows to use 1GB of memory. Currently this isn't causing any known issues, there aren't many users in the system. However about a month ago we had major performance issues with HFM / Smartview while there were "a lot" of users in the system. The problems in HFM were slow logins and slow switching between HFM applications. Smartview logins were also slow. Once in the HFM app things seemed to be fine. This lead us to look at Shared Services and we noticed that the HyS9SharedServices.exe had grown to 1GB.
Note: there was nothing in the Shared Services logs including in debug mode.
Ticket was opened with Oracle support and they first had us install HFM patch 9.3.1.4.10 siting this defect: 9056633 - HIGH NUMBER OF PROVIDER QUERIES WHEN USER BELONGS TO ONLY NATIVE GROUPS
Our user security is MSAD accounts belonging to native groups so this patch made sense and seemed to resolve the issue. Oracle also had us upgrade Shared Services to SP1 so we're now on 9.3.1.1 previously on 9.3.1.0.13
We've been monitoring the memory usage of the HyS9SharedServices.exe process over the last month and while it typically sits somewhere between 150-250MB memory usage twice, including yesterday we watched it grow to 1GB and get stuck there. Our servers are rebooted every Sunday so we expect the process to drop back down to normal again in a few days. Meanwhile we're concerned that something is triggering it to grow and get stuck at 1GB but we don't know what or if this is something that we should be concerned with. Oracle support is still working with us but still doesn't have much on this.
One other thing of interest when looking at various logs, for example the SharedServices_Memory_Profile.log you can see memory use is ~25455 kb right up until it jumps to 167091 kb and then to 681665 kb starting at 12:01pm yesterday right when the process started to grow. Then at 12:11pm according to the log it's back down to 25516 kb but this is not how windows is reporting it as it's still currently showing it at 1,059,676 K. Could this just simply mean that windows isn't reporting things accurately or is it tomcat? Any one have any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Eugene

One of the problems that show similar sysmtoms is data explosion, caused by poorly written rules. Rules can dramatically populate a database with many more values than what was loaded from the source system. To determine if this issue is affecting your application, first determine how many records are in the DCE (Entity) table and see how close that is to the number of records in the load file. You can run a query that will order all the records, and give you a count of how many records there are for each account. Look for accounts that have dramatically larger frequencies than others, and then trace them back to the source. Do the same for the DCN (Node) table.
The results of this can be compared with your load file to determine if you are experiencing data explosion from rules.
Are you getting any subcube warnings in the HSVEvent log?

  • Shared Services Stopping Frequently

    Hi,
I have installed Hyperion Planning 9.3.1 on Windows Server 2003 SP2 in the following sequence
    1.     Shared services and ran its configuration utility
    2.     EAS - Installation and configuration
    3.     Essbase Server- Installation and configuration
    4.     Essbase Client - Installation
    5.     Planning - Installation and configuration
    6.     BI Plus – (work space services , workspace )-Installation and configuration
    7. BI Plus Client - Installation
Shared services, workspace,Essbase,Planning,Interactive reporting- every thing worked fine.
After 2 days , I am unable to login or access none of the tools.
My shared services service is stopping automatically. It is getting started after I start and when I am about to logint o the tool, the service is getting stopped.
    Please suggest me.
    Thanks,
    Sowjanya

    Hi,
If it did work then something must of happened on the Oracle side? Is the oracle server all up and running, has anything changed?
If you run the config utility again for shared services, you can check the database connection details are correct, at the configure database section it should recognise the database already exists and give you the option "reuse the existing database", this should also point out if your connection to the oracle database is still valid. If you don't get the option then there is something wrong and it can't see the original database.
Whatever you do you don't want to use the "drop all tables and create a new database" otherwise you will loose everything.
    Cheers
    John

    Hi John,
    Thanks again for your reply.

  • Creating data server for Hyperion Shared Services (HSS)

    Hey Gang,
Has anyone had experience in creating a Data Server for Hyperion Shared Services (HSS) using the java API? I know HSS uses Native Directory, but to be compliant the Hyperion folks recommend using the java API strictly to get access to the users, groups, etc.
Anyone have experience with this, or perhaps at least how to get ODI to kick off a java file to pull the data needed? What effort would be needed in ODI, is it straight forward or would I have to develop a technology or something to integrate into ODI?
    Thanks.

Thanks for the quick reply John. I am trying to get user and group information, and also doing some complex manipulation. I need this to verify user access and some other stuff. I will not always have access to HSS and cannot always export the information, thus the need to use the HSS java API.
I'm trying to pull it out of HSS and put it into an Oracle table in a standard format where I'll use the information and do reporting off of it. I've developed a java class that does migrates the data over, but its crude and I'd like to move it into ODI with some of our projects that are currently doing the same thing with other ERP such as Ebiz and Peoplesoft.
If I can recode some of the java in ODI, how would I go about doing that. Where would I include the libraries, etc.? is there a tutorial or a place where I can get started on that.
    Thanks for all the help.

  • Shared services and workspace architecture(How we can find out req &respon)

    Good morning Hyperion folks,
Does any body have any document or PDF about workspace and shared service architecture...How these both components are communicate each other..any idea or any document..while communicating of these if anything goes wrong,,where we need to check, what is exactly the problem (any suggestible logs)...
Company are doing big mistake by using this hyperion tool ..These guys are not supporting and even they don't know much about the tool apart Product dev team..and that too they are not disclosure any documents related product...
**Does anybody found any kind performance tunning guide or lab guide about workspace and shared service HFM,Planning...** I have never seen component wise documents and tunning guide and recommendations.
I am strong opnion about hyperion is,we would not get any support from oracle and documents so He can migrate Cognos TM1 and Finance management etc........

Thanks john For ur reply ..i have seen these documents long ago ..i am asking about Shared services and workspace architecture and how these are functioning and where we can find out communication error and slow login issue with workspce and shared services.. How authentication is log on ..is there any machanisam they are using for authencation ...We are using OpenLadp ...
Ex :1.Per suppose log on to workspace that request goes to shared services directory and it will check whether that user is exists or not on Shared services tables ...here what kind of alogirtham using to aunthenticate user...How we can diagonse this process taking to much time,,,is there any specific logs related this (If logs are exsits how we can find out)...
2.Once authencation done successfully and responce send to workspace and populate workspace home page...then i click on application button (FM application) and it's taki ng to much time to load HFM page.To this where we need to look whta excatly problem? what are logs file helpful to us to diagonse..

  • Shared Services and Planning Synchronization

Ok, this is probably useful for a lot of people, but can anyone articulately explain the relationship between MSAD (or whatever the source security system is), Shared Services, and Planning? There are like 5 utiities and or Web Client buttons that claim to sync different parts to each other.
MSAD is the source system. It is "plugged into" Shared Services. (Are these always in sync, is there some utility to run to sync them?)
Then there is this Shared Services "Native Directory" what is this? There is a "Sync Native Directory" button in Shared Services, what does this sync?
Assuming that SS is synced with MSAD, we then turn to Planning. In Planning, there are "Migrate Identities" and "Remove Non-Provisioned Users/Groups" buttons. What do these buttons sync, and is Migrate Identities the same as the ProvisionUsers.cmd utility?
I want to know the best way to keep all this in sync, MSAD to SS and SS to Planning. Is any of this automatic, and if I need to run manual utilities, which ones do I need to run and which "buttons" do I need to push.
    thanks
    -Patrick

    Hi,
Ok here goes, I am not really sure which version you are on because there was a bit of a change between 9.2 and 9.3 with regards to MSAD (uses the ObjectGUID instead of SamAccountName)
Sync Native Directory - Shared Services contains all the product registration details, OpenLdap (Native Directory) stores all the provisioning, sometimes it is possible they could go out of sync which is pretty rare, so the sync native directory makes sure Shared Services and Open Ldap are in sync.
Migrate Identities - I think this is more of the line of the updateusers.cmd utility where if a user has changed in the directory (this was more of an issue when SamAccountName was used as users group change OUs in the Active Directory) it will update the planning table with the new details.
Remove-Non Provisioned Users/Groups - I am sure this doesn't actually work and has been removed in later versions, it is meant to clear up users/groups in the planning tables where there don't exist in Shared Services anymore.
It depends what you mean by is MSAD always in sync with Shared Services, if you are using 9.3 and configured to use the ObjectGUID then it is pretty much in sync as the id is not likely to change, if you are using SamAccountName and a user moves place in the organisational structure then it can go out of sync. There is another ultilty for that :) (update native directory utility)
If you run the provision users utility after you have provisioned a user in shared services it will add the user to the planning tables and also push the user to essbase.
All depends what you are finding is it a problem to what utility to you want to use.
    Cheers
    John

  • Planner provisioning for user groups lost in Shared services

    Hi All,
Everything was fine. All of a sudden, no users were able to login in to planning.
On investigation it was found that all the planner/planning provision to the groups is lost in the shared services.
Digged into log for a while and couldnt find out any issues.
What could be the reason we lost user group security provisioning only to planning?
Could anyone please help on this?
    Regards,
    GG

I used to have same experience every time migration happens from dev to UAT or prod etc.
After migration, registering with shared service will be successful. When i try to sync, migrate user identities (provisionusers.cmd) from shared service all user group info vanishes in planning (Add/Edit access page). i.e hsp_access_control table is truncated or all rows are dropped.
Then i have to set it up correctly. Guess this happens because usergroups have different id between different environments. When sync'g planning at target, it will not be able to recognize the wrong usergroup id of source system.
    My assumption:
When provisionusers.cmd is run, planning fetches the usergroup provisioning information from shared services in to hsp_access_control planning repository table. could someone confirm the same?
Is there any other way to overcome this issue recurring on every time migration happens?
But the problem today was different: the provisioning is lost in the shared services itself which i havent witnessed so far. We didnt migrate recently, everything was file till 8 AM, but screwed around 8.10 AM. everything was up and running.
    Cheers,
    GG

I am at the screen of Setup Shared Services and Registry Database Connection associated with the instance home:
    Here i give the

    Server : Servername
    Port : Port Number
service Name or SID : Service name
    User name : HSS
Password : Given the correct password here
and now when i click on next, nothing is happening, its just there its not progressing.. I have rebooted the server but still the samething. Its very wiered. Can someone help me what should it do.

Have you given all privileges as per below listing in Oracle Install-Config guide?
    It says,
The following privileges must be granted to the owners of the database schemas:
    CREATE ANY SYNONYM
    CREATE CLUSTER
    CREATE INDEXTYPE
    CREATE PROCEDURE
    CREATE SEQUENCE
    CREATE SESSION
    CREATE TABLE
    CREATE TRIGGER
    CREATE TYPE
    CREATE VIEW
    DROP ANY SYNONYM
    UNLIMITED TABLESPACE
Did you have a look at configtool.log as to what errors its having ?
I think the reg.properties will get created if you have all sufficient rights on Oracle database user/schema.

  • Regarding Shared Services

    Hi All,
I have created couple of users in shared services and also i have created a group and provisioned that group with appropriate access. Then i have assigned that users to that group.
Later i have refreshed from security from shared services.
But when i see list of users on that server iam unable to find users.
Any suggestions regarding this issue are most welcome.
    Thanks in advance,
    Ram.

    Hi Cameron,
I have assigned server access to that group and now iam able to see the user on the user table in EAS.Iam able to log on to the server using Maxl and now the issue is with excel addin when iam trying to log on to the Same box using same id and password iam unale to do that and iam i missing any thing in provisioning.
    During provisioning i have selected
    1)Server Access.
2)Application manager for the particular application.
    Thanks,
    Ram.

  • Shared Services database content not found in the specified database - EPM

I installed three VM machines (Workstation) for the following on Windows 2003 OS:
VM1 : Oragle DB 11g, Shared Services. Workspace
VM2 : Financial Management, EPMA, Calc Manager
    VM3 : Microsoft Active Directory
I have configured Database and Shared services successfully and all machines talk to one another.
Also, I created the appropriate table spaces for the Hyperion products with the right access on the database. And, I am able to connect from the client (VM 2 to the Database VM 1)using SQLplus.
When I tried to configure Financial Management, using the EPM System Configurator and put in the following values:
    Database Type: Oracle
    Server: VMDatabase (Name of VM1)
    Port: 1521
    SID ORCL
    Username: HFM
    password: *********
It returned the error message: "*Shared Services database content not found in the specified database*"
Can someone please help on what I need to check, Please!?
    Thanks for your time.

    Hi,
    Information from Oracle Support:
Shared Services database content not found in specified database
    Cause
There is a flag in the shared services repository that indicates the shared services database is to be used as a registry. If that flag is not set, the configtool will not re-configure the database as a shared services repository.
    Solution
Note: Make sure the Shared Services repository is backed up before doing any Shared Services Registry changes.
The registry flag isRegistryDB must exist and be set to true on the Shared Services Database Connection.
    epmsys_registry.bat VIEW DATABASE_CONN
Find the shared services database registry entry. The entry in bold will be missing. The italicized item is the 'unique_id' referenced later (different in each installation).

Run the following update to populate the isRegistryDB flag with the unique_id being the ID field used in the DATABASE_CONN registry entry.
    epmsys_registry.bat addproperty #unique_id/@isRegistryDB true
Repeat the epmsys_registry VIEW DATABASE_CONN to make sure the flag is now set.
You will be able to reconfigure the shared services repository.
You can mark it as Answer/Helpful if you feel so.
    Cheers!

  • Users in Shared Services

Can someone tell me if there is a SQL table somewhere that stores the listing of users in Shared Services?
Where would that data be stored?

so John, you say that there is no chance to retrieve those users from relational-tables before v.11.1.2, right? is it possible in 11.1.2?
actually i also need a scheduled report to see all users in HSS hence we're using same HSS with another project-team and both teams need such a kind of control report: "which users are able to see our project, who are in the other project... etc."
i think, i should use CSSExport utility for creating such a scheduled report?
    do you have any suggestion?
