Sharepoint 2010 webpart connection issues

I've had a number of people having issues starting the LiveCycle feature in sharepoint 2010 here is the workaround
I had to do the following, download the powershell script located here https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=3d1aa7b9ba4b05fd&resid=3D1AA7B9BA4B05FD!234&id=3D1AA7B9BA4B 05FD%21234
Go into powershell, that’s done by running powershell.exe just like you would a cmd prompt
When at the powershell prompt issue the command Set-ExecutionPolicy AllSigned
Issue a cd to go to the directory that contains the download script
Then issue .\Set-RemoteAdministratorAccessDenied-False.ps1

Sharepoint 2010 Webpart debugging - Writing to the console

I am creating a SharePoint 2010 Webpart, and I'd like to write to the console for debugging purposes. Unfortunately the command Console.Writeline doesn't seem to work for me. How do I fix this??

Unfortunately, the functionality you're looking for doesn't exist. Web parts are primarily used for web applications and are built within class libraries, which have no console functionality at all. Therefore, prevents writing to the console.
Alternatively, you can use Visual Studio to debug the web part and step through the code using breakpoints. Visual Studio 2010 allows you to Debug the web part by hitting "F5".

Citrix Netscaler AppXpert with Sharepoint 2010 Page Edit Issue

Posting this as a questions and discussion point.
The issue is in using Citrix Netscaler with AppXpert with SharePoint 2010. I've seen this issue for two customers.
Configurations:
- Citrix Netscaler as the load Balancer
- Netscaler AppXpert for SharePoint deployed on Netscaler (using either AppXpert version 1.1 or 2.0)
- SharePoint 2010 Standard or Enterprise editions
Issue:
A SharePoint user with appropriate rights go to a SharePoint page. They choose Edit page, make changes and want to save changes. At this point all SharePoint ribbon options on the top are greyed out. End result, users are not able to make changes to their
site pages. Issue happens for everyone including Farm Admins.
Cases:
a. The users are able to edit and save SharePoint wiki pages if I point user's PC to the SharePoint web server WFE by changing their local host file.
b. On Citrix Netscaler, if I use the traditional load balancing i.e. without Citrix AppXpert, then the users are able to edit and save the pages. That is an option if the customer is using SharePoint 2010 Standard. That is not an option if a customer is
using InfoPath forms. InfoPath is a feature of SharePoint 2010 Enterprise edition. Citrix AppXpert for SharePoint is needed to make the InfoPath work. Else the users get session errors when they use InfoPath Web forms.
c. The issue happens on almost all combination of OS and browser. XP, vista, Win 7, Win8, Win8.1, IE8, 9, 10, 11 and other browsers like chrome etc as well.
Please share your ideas and suggestions.

Sharepoint 2010 - SAP - Connection Authenification

Hello expert´s,
first i am not sure if this is the right forum, if not, admins, please move this threat to the right one.
We plan to get MS Sharepoint 2010 in our company, so it would be very nice to show SAP data in Sharepoint. If already a prototype page with a running connetction to SAP. So there is SAP data shown in our MS SP page. So far it works, but now we need user specific data. In my first try i used a SAP Webservice (where i deactivated the authenification) so no user an pw was requestet by SAP. Now i need the Username on SAP side and a working auth.check. I searched the internet and asked our sharepoint implenentation parter, but i did not get a solution.
Has anybody an idea how it can work?

"Basically, the iView web parts arenu2019t included anymore because they never really worked anyway. They are no longer u201Csupportedu201D but you can continue to use them as they are in SharePoint 2010. The iFrame integration moving forward really just allows finer control in the page rendering of SharePoint. You can now seamlessly edit the pages to incorporate any desired external content within an iFrame directly. This was not possible before with MOSS 2007.
Even with SharePoint 2007, the IView webpart was not a necessity to visually embed a SAP Portal IView, a SAP BSP page within a SharePoint page. Valid and even recommended alternative approach is a 'plain iframe' construct. You can apply the PageViewerWebPart for this; present in 2007 and also still in 2010,

Thread Process is exiting without completing the process in SharePoint 2010 webpart

We have implemented simple thread to process to excel upload into SharePoint 2010 custom list.
Thread process running in local SharePoint 2010 environment (OS -Windows 7). Once we deployed in SharePoint server,
Thread process is exiting without completing its proces.
Please let us know if you know any resolution.

According to your post, an error occurred when you used Thread in SharePoint 2010 web part.
Please can do as follows:
1. Execute the UploadData method to see whether it can work.
2. Debug your solution in Visual Studio to get more information the error,

SharePoint 2010 Picture library issue, stuck in uploading

We have created Picture Library in SharePoint 2010 publishing website. It was working fine before, but
now we are unable to upload any picture (even the file size is less than 1 MB).
On the upload form, we select the picture and click on Ok button. Then it stuck and continue showing message, Please
wait while your changes are processed
It doesn't show any error, and keeps uploading....
It seems something is wrong on farm level, i can not upload picture in any web application but documents.
Any kind of help would be appreciated.

Sharepoint 2010 webpart database connectivity.

Im developing a web part that allows users to create help-desk tickets. I'm developing using Visual studio 2012. Ive created some text boxes and drop down lists. I want to link my drop down lists to a database where the user can choose names from the database
etc. Unlike a regular windows form app where you can choose data source for the DD list and configure SQL database, im only given the option to use XML data. How can I configure this to accept SQL databases??
I have linked an SQL server(with databases) to my visual studio web part project. Just don't quite know how to link the data yet. Any help would be very well appreciated.

Retrieve data from AD from within a custom sharepoint 2010 webpart

Hi,
I have a requirement to retrieve user data from AD and display from within a custom built webpart.
I am using the PrincipalContext class etc to get the info from AD, i have sucesfully done this in a console program without having to specifiy a username/password.
In the webpart i have successfully retrieved the data by hard coding my domain username/password.
Any ideas what i could do to get the webpart to retrieve information from AD without having to specify username/password?

Outlook 2010 Server connection issue

All of a sudden, one of my Outlook 2010 profiles, an IMAP/SMTP account, says it can’t connect to the server
My attempts to repair the connection get the messages “None of the authentication methods are supported by this client are supported by your server”.
The configuration details haven't been changed, so what do I do now?

Please first try to log into your webmail and check if it works well there.
If the problem didn't exist in webmail, please go to File > Info > Account Settings > Account Settings > Highlight your IMAP account and click Change > More Settings > Select Outgoing Server tab and make sure you ticked the first two
options. See:
Besides, select Advanced tab and make sure you have entered the proper port number and encryption method for your server. You can refer to this:

[HELP REQ] [DEPLOYMENT ERROR]Silverlight Sharepoint 2010 Webpart Applicaiton [ERROR WHEN I DEPLOY] [HELP REQ]

That is the error I get when I try to deploy the site I get this error. I have tried adding a element file but I am not too sure if I have done it correct. Either way no matter what and how I try to add this to my server when I do the following
commands it returns me this error.

Install:

SharePoint 2010 Version History Issue

We have this issue going on for one of our users for quite some time.He is uploading
a document to a document librrary which is versioning enabled through a script or batch file.When he uploads the document 2nd time to the document library and goes to the version history page of the item he sees that the date and time stamp of the previous
version has been overwritten with the date and time stamp of the current version.Has anyone faced this issue before.If yes please share youe experiences and any resolution to the same.

SkyDrive Pro and SharePoint 2010

Why SkyDrive Pro can no longer sync SharePoint 2010 libraries? I was using Windows 8 with Office 2013 and SkyDrive Pro had no problems with synchronizing content from SharePoint 2010. Now I installed Windows 8.1 with Office 2013 and it doesn't work anymore.
Is there any way to fix it? My colleagues (with Windows 8 and Office 2013) still can synchronize content from SharePoint 2010.

Note that SkyDrive Pro does not support SharePoint 2010 so any issues you have with it won't be looked at by Microsoft.

Unable to bind user to peopleeditor programmatically after SharePoint 2010 August 2011 CU

I have a drop-down selected index change event to set value for a people editor control. This works fine for the first time. But the next time I change a value in the drop-down, the people editor wont change if it already holds a value. I need
to clear it and then change the drop-down value,. This issue occurs after August 2011 CU update and does not happen in other environment where i dont have this update applied.
Can someone officially confirm if this a known issue with August 2011 CU? I see this is being reported both in SP2010 and MOSS 2007 after their respective August 2011 CU updates. Refer
