Show new rows at top. Is it possible?

Hi all,
I am using Java Studio Creator 1 � Update 2.
When the user is allowed to insert new records in a table one or more empty record will be visible at the bottom of the table. And the user can then simply enter the new data in theses empty records.
How can I determine where the new rows will be placed? Actually they will be at last page of a table view. Is it possible to show news rows at the top of the table?

Tabular Form - new row at top not working

I'm trying to add a new row to the top of a tabular form (not manual) vs the bottom using Denes example - http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=31517:215 but it's not working. I absolutely need the records to sort on the date and time, but when I add a hidden column and sort it in descending order, then sort the date and time both in descending order, it doesn't sort correctly. I tried using the primary key field of the table as the hidden column, sorting nulls first, but the new record opens at the bottom (If I have "sorting nulls first" selected and at the time a new row is added the primary key field is null, why doesn't the new row open at the top?). I added a new field (date field with timestamp) to the query, then deselected "show" in the column attributes...that didn't work. I then selected "show", and changed the tabular form element display as to "Hidden", but then I got an error when I clicked "Add New", and I also added a column to my query via apex_item.hidden but no luck there either. What's the best way to go about this, but still maintain the date and time sort?

We did that. It didn't resolve it...
Also, I compared the images directory from the complete apex 4.1.1. installation and compared it to patch 13331096 (latest 4.1.1 patch). They are identical.
Any other ideas I can try out?

Show new rows in DataGrid

I have dataGrid where i insert rows. For this reason i use this code:

That works fine. But when I try to delete some existing rows before committing inserted rows their all disappears in DataGrid. This code for rows deletion

When you say pending rows do you mean the new rows that you have created in the createLOADetails()? If so, if the new row that was created is a valid row with all the required attribute values being set, then if you remove the statement r.setNewRowState(Row.STATUS_INITIALIZED); the row will get saved when you issue an commit and hence you should be able to requery the data.
If the row does not contain all the required attributes and if you expect the values to be entered by the user, then you have to call the createLOADetails() in your initDetails() after the executeQuery.

Adding new row at top of tabular form In APEX 4.0

I havea tabular form and when addrow() it is adding at bottom of the existing rows. Is there a way I can add new row at the top of the rows?

Hi Raj,
I'm trying to implement your solution to add the empty row of a tabular report to the top of the page but I can't get it to work. I've identified two errors in your code, namely
1) semi-colon after mytable.moveRow(mytable.rows.length-2,1) is missing
2) You say to use "ABC_REPORT" as the region id but you use "report_ABC_REPORT" in the code.
I've fixed these but still I cannot get it to work.
Could you check the code again and see if there are any other errors that we may have missed.

Add new row at top of table

I searched, but my query may not have been structured to yeild results. In my table I would like to insert new rows at the top of the table. The only way I can think of right now would be getting the last row that isn't null and move the data from that row to the next increment. After that, count down by 2 and do the same over again until I get to row 0. There really isn't any particular data in my table that I could sort by so that isn't really an option.
Is there something simple I am over-looking?

Alrighty. And I guess it was insertRow() I was looking for the entire time, not addRow(). Ugh... need sleep.

Pprnav does not show new page from top.

In webcenter we can perform navigation from one page to another using pprnav

I have two pages A, B. A has some lengthy content so user needs to scroll down to see complete content. Now if he tries to navigate to another page B, scroll position remained as it is. It means page B shows bottom content. How can I make focus on top section of page B after navigating to it using pprnav.

Null Pointer Exception When Adding New Row on Table

I have used detail group with table layout , when I am clicking on AddRow button on detail table , I encounter NulllPointer Exception . I have traced the code and fount that in JhsCollectionModel when adding new row following
condition occurs :
DCIteratorBinding ib = getRangeBinding().getIteratorBinding();
int rangeSize = ib.getRangeSize();
int rowsInRange = ib.getAllRowsInRange().length;
because getAllRowsInRange is Null then the error raise.
My JheadStart ver is 10.1.3.3.85 .
Detail Group with table layout setting is :
Use Table range=true
Show New Row at top=true
New Rows:empty
Show Add New Row Button :true

Add new Row at the bottom of the advance table

Hi,
I have an advance table which is displaying 50 rows per page. I have a button at the bottom of the table to add a new row in the table.
Requirement is whenever user clicks on the button to add a new row and if he is viewing the 50-100 rows, new row should be added at the bottom of the same page giving 101st row as new row.
Is this functionality possible. Please let me know the code for the same.

Hi,
If the records displayed is set to 50 then at one time only 50 records will be visible.
101st row will be inserted at seperate navigation 100-150.
Instead you can insert the row at the top so that 100th row gets shifted to 101 and new row becomes on the same page
for this use
vo.insertRowatRangeIndex(row,0);

Generate a surregate key only when insert a new row - (SCD1)

I´m starting with OWB (10gR2) and I'm creating a simple template dimension with SDC type 1 with one source, one target and a sequence do generate the surrogate key.
The main properties configurations are:
- Target property: Loading type = INSERT/UPDATE.
- Only match the natural key between source and target.
- Only use the sequence.nextval when inserting a new row.
- Mapping: Set based.
The generated code was something like this:

Ok, it works fine! But the merge statement generates a new SK for each merged row even if the action is update! What I want is a new SK only when the process inserts a new row. Hard-coding, I possible solve this problem creating a function to return the nextval from a sequence and put it on the insert clause like this:

Perhaps this comes a bit late but...
Have you tried to change attribute properties in the mapping? For simple example you have a source table in sa-stage which have to fields: code (varchar2(2), natural key) and description (varchar2(50)). You want to map those fields to target table where you have 3 fields: id (NUMBER(10), surrogate id, nextval from sequence when new row inserted), code (as from the source, natural key, the field to determine if the coming row is new or one to be merged) and description as in source table. Fields and datatypes are just for an example.
When you have source and target tables in your mapping (and fields mapped), drag the sequence operator to the mapping and map the nextval to target table's surrogate id field.
- Change target table operator properties:
* loading type = UPDATE/INSERT
* Match by constraint = no constraint
- Change target table attribute properties for:
* surrogate id field: Load column when updating row = no; match column when updating row = no; load column when inserting row = yes
* natural key field(s): Load column when updating row = no; match column when updating row = yes; load column when inserting row = yes
* all the regular fields: Load column when updating row = yes; match column when updating row = no; load column when inserting row = yes
- change the deleting rules as you want them to be
- Validate your mapping. If the green light is shown, the settings in field properties are suitable for merge.
Hope this is what you wanted to get. I think this kind of solution works fine. Trigger in the table that holds and where one inserts millions of rows sounds scary...

CreateInsert puts the new row at the top or second to the last

"Mission Control" does not show space row and I cannot add a new space (27 inch screen)

Firstly, "Mission Control" does not show upper row with spaces. I have configured Dashboard as space, but it is not showed either.
Second, I cannot add a new space because the upper right corner wont show an empty space.
In system I have configured (Mission Control) the upper right corner as "mission control".
I do run a 27-inch screen

I'm having the exact same problem. I have a Macbook Pro that I connect to a 27inch iMac through the mini display port. Whenever I attempt to launch Mission control to move a program to a different space, the "Spaces" dont appear at the top of the screen. Is anyone have an answer for this?
Also, does anyone know of a 3rd party program to bring "Spaces" back? That was my #1 favorite thing of Snow Leopard, and I need to get that functionality back.

BI Integrated Planning: Not possible to enter new rows in Webtemplate

Hello Experts,
we are trying to use the BI integrated planning, in particular we want to use the manual planning functionality with new rows, that means we want to create new rows for combinations of characteristics for which no data has been entered / loaded yet.
To test this functionality, we´ve built a very simple example consting of
-     a real time info cube with 4 characteristics, 1 key figure and one time characteristic
-     an aggregation level which contains the 4+1 characteristics
-     an input-ready query
-     a web-template with an analysis grid, sth. to select the characteristics, eg. drop-down-boxes or a navigation pane and a button to save the entered data
But now it is not possible for us to create new rows to enter data. The error message that is displayed in the top of the screen reads No new row / column inserted, since not all characteristics have a lead column.
The strange (?) thing is, that if we use the navigation pane, it is possible to draw the time characteristic as the only element to the rows and then we can enter the time characteristic, but not the key figure !
We´ve succeeded in entering data for new rows using BexAnalyzer, but we really need this functionality within a web template.
Btw, I think we´ve done the necessary adjustements for the web template (e.g. for the analysis grid number of new rows and so on)
According to our SAP Basis Administration, the OSS-Note No 984601 has already been installed.
What do we have to do if we want to enter data in new rows ? We would already be happy with a simple example / how to to know what we have do to do to build a very simple web application !

Okay, it has been solved (answered by SAP-Support) ! It´s so easy: the only thing you have to do is to display only keys, no text, in the query !

But here is my problem how can i align Title(DCS Clinical Report-Technician wise) center of pdf report with image named:logo5.png immediately coming to it's right?.

I’m sorry for the issue that you are hitting now.
This itextsharp is third party control, for this issue, I recommended to consult the control provider directly, I think they can give more precise troubleshooting.

Add a new row at the top of a table in GUI

Hi,
I am using JDev 11.1.1.1.0. I need to be able to let users add a new row at the top of a table and not anywhere else in the middle of table rows. I cannot seem to find a way to do it. note that it does not matter where a new row gets inserted in the db, i am only concerned about restricting the insert in the GUI to the topmost line/row.

Can you try with writing your custom create method in application module and calling same from UI on command button action like
public void createNewRow()
ViewObjectImpl vo = getVO1();
Row newRow= vo.createRow()
vo.insertRowAtRangeIndex(0, newRow);

How to add a new row at the top of manual tabular form

I have a manual tablular form. I'm trying to add a row at the top of the form, instead of new row of being displayed at the bottom. any ideas are appreciated.

This will depend on two things:
1. sorting of the columns - needs to be a some kind of a descending sorting on a hidden column, enabled within the Report Attributes and not in the SQL Query
2. Report Attributes => Layout and Pagination => Sort Nulls First
You will need to play with those settings a bit. One thing to consider is that you should sort your report on a hidden column and you shuldn't enable the sorting on visible columns, because it will mess up your row positioning.
