Show start & end times in monthly view?

how do I show both start and end times in monthly view of iCal?

It does come with the operating system - you don't pay any extra for it.
Perhaps the shipping to Mars is a tad expensive?

AFAIK, this is not a feature of iCal.

That means an iCal invitation has been sent. Click the small envelope icon on the bottom right of the the screen to view the notification.

That represents the current time of day in the Day/Week view.

• End time in month view

Hi,
I'm new to iCal. I want to print my schedule in Month view but as it is right now, it only shows the start times of events in each day. Is there any way to make it show both start and end times for the events in month view?
I searched the help files and searched online but nothing came up.
Any help is appreciated.

• End times in month view: after 5 years of asking, will we ever get it?

About a year ago, I noted that a quick search of these forums turned up 28 requests dating back to 2005 requesting an extremely simple feature every paper calendar has: the ability to show an events' end time in addition to its start time.
I had forgotten all about this issue until my wife started using iCal to manage her calendar after buying an iPhone. Her first question: "why can't I see when something ends in month view?"
Great question. I've added another request to this feature http://www.apple.com/feedback/ical.html. If you're frustrated by this too, please visit the URL above and request that Apple add this ability.

It looks like we're not alone in looking for this feature. I found 28 other posts to this forum alone asking for this functionality (dating back to August 2005).
I know Apple likes to be different and elegant with their apps, but until iCal adds this trivial feature, it's not an adequate replacement for even paper calendars.
Do the engineers in Cupertino not care how long their appointments last? Why not at least let users show the end time on appointments as an option in month view?
The most common advice in response to this post is to provide feedback here:

One thing I must add.
I'm giving switching to Google Chrome/Chromium a lot of serious thought, now. It might actually be the better open source browser. Why?
I've discovered that if I go into chrome://flags, I can search for 'HiDPI support' and ... toggle it to disabled. Making Google Chrome behave as it did before High-DPI support was a thing. What a magical feature!
Apparently this feature is not impossible to implement because Google managed it. Why can't Firefox have an about:config option that completely disables High-DPI??
Seeing that Google has done this makes me feel all the more hated by Mozilla. And it creates links between Mozilla and the likes of Apple in my mind.

• Calendar Doesn't Show Appointment End Dates in Month View

I'm trying to use iCal as my family calendar, but when I look in month view I only see the start time, not the end time as well. Is there a way to see and print both?
Thanks!

mopar408,
Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Unfortunately, that display option is not available in the month view.
I suggest that you provide Apple - iCal - Feedback.

• Printing time range month view

This is driving me crazy. All I want to do is print the start time and the end time in month view. The problem is that I only get a start time for the event. Or if I try to enter the time in the even manually I get a time and a time range. The only way i found that works is to check the all day box then enter the time range manually in the event (3:00-5:00). When I print it works, but it screws up the snyc to my pda, and the list view. Any ideas?

I don't know whether this a "solution" or a work-around, but I did find a way to resolve this problem. I recently started using iCal by transferring appointments from a BlackBerry using the BlackBerry PocketMac software. Although all of the appointment times appeared on the monthly calendar, most of the appointment times were replaced by ellipses when the monthly calendar was printed. It turns out that the times would print only after re-entering the appointment manually. This had to be done completely from scratch, i.e., not by editing the original appointment, or by cutting and pasting the appointment back into the calendar. This is a complete pain, but seems to work. I'd love to hear a better solution...

• How to show end time in week view?

Hello
I would like to know how I can get ical, to show the end time of an event? I really want this to show up in the week view.
Is this possible?
I have been checking around on this forum and many more, but no answer
I really hope some one will help
Regards
DesrAw

I am looking for the same thing. I actually would appreciate being able to see start and end times in every view. When I'm trying to see how many hours I'm working in a week, the easiest way is to see that, okay, Monday is 9-5, Tuesday is 9-4, Wednesday is 8:30-4:30, and so on. Those numbers are easy to calculate and add.
Plus, in month view, I can't tell what kind of gaps there will be in my days, and my down time is extremely important to me!

• ICal 'Show time in month view' Month view missing text!

Hi I hope you can help me!
Since syncing to .mac last week my calendar has developed a problem which is happening on both of my Macs.
Some of my entries and particular words are not displaying properly when I enable 'Show time in month view'. Words at the end of the entries are missing! (they are fine with the times disabled). Can someone please offer an insight into this as I just bought my Mac and use it for my business.
Thanks in advance.
Aaron

I have the same problem. I want to print the month view like it was in my older version of Ical and it won't do it. I want to print what I see.

• ICal is not showing event time in month view

For some reason, the time of my events stopped showing in iCal.  I get the event, but the time doesn't show unless I click on the event.  The time does show in week view, but I prefer to use month view.  This has not been an issue in the past, so I don't know what happened or if I clicked on something accidentally.  I tried going to iCal preferences, but I don't see anything that allows me to select "show time in month view" which has been suggested by other usI'm using OS X Yosemite.  Thanks.

It appears that it is dependent on the size of the calendar window. If it is too squished to display, it won't.

• Show times in month view?

Hey all! Just made the switch from Outlook to iCal and am wondering when you're in the month view if you can have the individual entries show the time. Thanks so much!

It seems that iCal>Preferences...>General>"Show time in month view" may be what you are looking for.

If I create an event for the AM, iCal displays it as being in the PM under month view. If i go to edit it, it shows up properly in the edit view.

• Can't view time or change start/end time of clip

Using imovie '09 and have several events that I imported from .mov files. imovie displays the total length of the clip but when I run the cursor over the clip in the browser the little timer window that pops up says "Created:" followed by the date/time that it was originally imported from a camera into .mov format. Every other file that I've imported directly into imovie from a camera gives me the running time of the clip as I run the cursor through the clip. I've tried to adjust the clip's date/time but it won't let me create a start/end time - regardless of what date/time I put in it assigns the same date/time to the start and end of the entire clip and doesn't show any running time so I can't mark/note specific times in the clip that I want to later select. Not sure why this is happening with these specific clips that were imported from existing .mov files - possibly because these clips were originally imported onto a pc and converted into .mov files, then imported into imovie after that? I still have the original tapes so I could import to imovie from scratch but would prefer not have to to do that as this makes up 20 hours of vid. Any solutions?

You might get a better response to your question over in the iLife > iMovie community. This forum is iMovie for iOS so most visitors here are working on a different platform, and while some may know about both products, many won't, me included.

• Display ending time in week view?

Is there any way to show the ending time for each event in week view (or anywhere?) i.e. 16:30-19:30 instead of just 16:30? I want to be able to see at a glance when my different shifts end, and at the moment I have to ad the ending time to the event title to be able to see it.

• Re. ICal, printing end times on monthly calendars?

I need to see end times for events on ICal's monthly calendar. Has this ever been resolved?

I would like this in iCal. Showing the end time in my daughter's calendar would let me quickly see what time I need to pick her up.
I have just started using iCal in anticipation of switching from a Treo 700p to an iPhone. In so doing, I have found a workaround:
If you use iSync, your iCal events show up on the Palm Desktop (a free download from Palm). Palm Desktop allows you to include the end times for each view (day, week, month). However, I do not know if you can sync iCal to Palm Desktop without syncing your Palm device at the same time.

• Room Booking - unavailable if start / end time is :15 or :45

Hi all,
First apologies if this is in the wrong forum.
Due to the way our school day runs, we need to be able to book rooms from :15 and :45 (e.g. 10.15 to 11.15, 11.45 to 12.45).
You can change the start / end time manually but if you do the rooms do not show as available and the suggested times only work for :00 or :30.
Is there a way to change it so the rooms can be booked for a wider variety of times?
I've googled this endlessly and the only thing I can really find that might be applicable is changing the timeincrement but I think that only applies to the calendar view and the start / end time showing 15 minute increments instead of 30 as default but
does not have any impact on room availability.
Hopefully someone can help.
Thanks a lot

Hi Chris,
It is by design and we cannot change the time slot displaying. Your understanding would beappreciated.
Besided, it is recommended to add an End date for a recurrent meeting.
