Simple Accordion Fix
Sorry, really simple and possibly quite stupid question,
but....
When navigating my site (test site, only on local host) using
the spry accordion I'm having trouble making the menu remain open
on the link that corresponds with curent page. ie I've clicked
downloads link and opened downloads page, but spry menu reverts to
original state and shows options for my home page/index. This
obviously needs to show options for the page I'm on (downloads).
I did read somewhere that you can mark the menu to open on
whatever section you want, but this would mean altering the code
for each page.
I am sure I have just probably deleted the code at the
beggining and need some advice on how to fix.

This is expected behavior for the Accordion panel, by default
they show the first panel, unless you "tell" them otherwise. You
can set the spefiic panel on a page by page basis, but not ideal,
but workable, dpeneding on the number of pages to work with. You
can also cause a specific panel to open up fairly easily based upon
query string parameters. See the last example on this page:

Apple, as you know many people have had problems with their home buttons on their ipod touches and iphones. I have figured out a simple fix to broken home buttons. Release a new firmware that makes it so if you double click the power button twice in quick succession it does the same as clicking the home button.I have never heard of people having trouble with their power button so this would be perfect. 2 (Probably Simple) Accordion Widget Questions
Hello!
I am a video guy who tries to dive into this web design stuff
once in a long while. Usually i can figure most stuff out by
reading forums and stuff but this stuff if probably to obvious for
anyone but myself to post about...
1)When I click on the accordion spry widget on my site it is
surrounded by a selection box (i.e. a dotted line)
how do I get rid of this?
2) I am unclear of how to apply effects to widgets...I have
the SpryEffects.js file and would like to ease the animation of my
accordion but don't know how and where to link my main page's code
to the effect file. Where does the code for this go and in which
file?

That dotted outline is the browser's focus ring that tells
user an element on the page has keyboard focus. You can either use
CSS to change the color so it blends with your background, or if
you don't need keyboard navigation on your accordion, simply remove
the tabindex attribute on the accordion's top-level div.

SuperDrive woes - simple $40 fix.
Well along with many people on this board, I got the same SuperDrive problems in my iMac G4, and it couldn't of come in a wronger time - the day before I was going to sell it. I tried EVERYTHING suggested on this board and nothing worked (upgrading firmware, resetting PRAM, reformatting HD, etc.). nada
I was extremely frustrated, so it came down to replacing it. I did some researching and found this drive: the NEC 3550, for $37! (16x dual layer dvd burner). Here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16827152058 . No tax, and $2 shipping.
Now here comes to the point where you can spend $40 or spend more, you need to install this thing for your self. I would have to say for a person who has only self-installed new RAM in a computer, installing the drive was realtively easy. Of course, I had to use the service manual (don't attempt this without it), I don't have a link for it, but look around. Once you get the actual computer open, you unplug two plugs, thn you just remove a thin metal shield, then remove the hard drive/ cd drive carrier. Once you've done that you just unscrew the cd drive carrier and unplug it and its out. Put your new one in and seal it back up.
Important notice if you are going to do this: when you get the drive, remove the front plastic part (the part with the eject button), just pull it off. Second, you need to set the drive to SLAVE mode, otherwise the iMac will see the CD drive as the hard drive. This is accomplished by going to the 6 pinned box, pulling out the pin, and instead of having it on the right, put it in the middle. Once this is done, you have you're drive back working great.

Using accordion widget as a menu in header causes footer to jump up page... (containing BC blog)
Hi all,
So I'm using an accordion panel widget as a collapsible menu in the header and I have the ol' "{tag_pagecontent} BC blog thing going on (displaying a BC blog in an HTML box on a page),
except when I publish this to BC, the footer jumps up the page and sits behind the blog content (yes, the footer checkbox is selected, no I don't have sticky footers enabled). When I remove the accordion panel and replace it with a simple "home" button (actually a hyperlinked image), the footer acts as intended.
So the issue here seems to be with the accordion panel causing a problem, but what's going on and how do I stop it so I can display the accordion menu on my blog template page?
Anyone have any ideas? Is it simple to fix and am I just overlooking something blatantly obvious because I'm tired?

IChart & Fixed Query /w scooter values in legend (xMII 11.5.1)

My problem is that I cannot get scooter values to show in the legend with a simple iChart & Fixed Query. At least not without more problems. Let me explain...

I went one step further to see if I could get the scooter values shown in the legend. I modified the query to use the StartDate & EndDate placeholders like so:

NOW the scooter values are shown in the legend, which is great, but all of a sudden the zoom is broken. When I select an area to zoom and then click the zoom button, it zooms to a completely different area of the chart. This is worse than my original problem.
Can someone please help me out with this? I have a feeling I'm leaving out something simple, but I can't find it.
By the way, my display template and query template used in this example are empty so that I could show all parameters to you.

BryanI removed scaling and accuracy parameters. I also removed some parameters that controlled styling. I added global auto scaling.
Now X & Y are updating properly on zoom. Although unzoom isn't working for start date and end date. They stay at the zoomed date. The post data also shows the zoomed dates being sent to the server after unzoom. The Y range updates properly on unzoom.

This problem isn't making any sense to me. The documentation makes it sound like showing the current values in the legend is as easy as setting ShowScooter = true. This wasn't the case for me though. I had to use the [SD] and [ED] placeholders in my fixed query before the values would show up in the legend. But then zooming breaks. It looks like we're heading in the right direction to get the zooming fixed, but at the cost of being able to scale each pen.
The first thing you said to me in your first post was that I'm using a 3+ years old version of xMII. Are you saying there is a good chance this is a bug? I was pretty convinced from the beginning that this problem is a bug. The customer I am working for set me up with an xMII 11.5.1 server because that is what they are using in production. Is there an online document with a list of bug fixes between versions? If this is a known bug in 11.5.1 then maybe I can get the go ahead to upgrade. -
Accordion widget - space between tabs possible?
hi guys.
i have a simple accordion, similar to the generic template but with no outline, i want to separate the tabs so they have transparent space, at the moment they are butted up together. can anyone tell me a simple way to do this? i tried spacing but that does not work. i also tried three seperate accordions but they overlap each other.

You can use three separate accordions and uncheck the option which says "overlap items below" this should resolve your issue.
Also, I must tell you that to see how the accordions will work , please preview the page in muse as in the design mode you will not be able to see the movement of the accordions.

[FIXED] File permission issues.
Hi all,
I am unable to save over files without first giving a text editor with root privileges (sudo leafpad file_name).
The permissions state that my user is the owner of these files and that the owner can view, change and access them. I am also unable to open Spotify without first giving it root privileges.
Anyone got any suggestions as to how I can fix this?

I was working through what you asked me to do and I noticed something.
The output of ls -l of the files that I am unable to modify stated that I didn't have modification privileges for certain files. I checked the properties through the file manager and it said that it was owned by root and that I could not modify.
The files in question are things like .bashrc, .bash_profile and the rc.lua (awesome wm). These have been copied from /etc/skel and /etc/xdg/awesome to /home/ and ~/.config/awesome/ respectively.
I haven't had much of a need to save over non-configuration files as of yet, and have been using root privileges to do so assuming that there was an issue with all files but after doing your test I could see that there was no issue with other files. I also tried to save over a few others and everything worked fine.
I would consider this issue fixed as a simple chmod fixed the files I was unable to save over. But I'm wondering, is there a way that I can automatically change a file's permission as I copy it from / to my home directory? -

your answer though apply more to errors that are not icluded in the error message as(in my example) i know what the error is or where it is in my code, i just don't know where to find the specific solution...
In my exemple, somewhere because i added field to the form my click event is still set to the original amount of 2 fields and now that i added new field my click event can't figure it out..... so i need to find where or what tells the click event to assume there is only 2 field.
Found the error in the help but they just tell you the error # and name...that's the step i would like to figure out...

Accordion effect, need help...

So I want to create an extremely simple accordion effect. I
tried styling the default accordion component but I couldn't remove
the Halo styling to it, so unless someone can tell me how to do
that I'm looking for basic AS to show and hide a particular MC on
click. Anyone help?

Getting away from halo (something I've been working at for
the last three days) isn't simple, but it's definitely doable.
First, I followed the instructions in Flash help on *creating
a new theme.* As part of those instructions, you'll copy two files:
default.as and AccordionHeaderSkin.as. Through trial and error, you
can fiddle with these two files and pretty much completely define
your own colors, fonts, etc. for all components. I changed my open
header to a gradient, and the closed headers to a different
gradient. It has worked much better and more reliably than using
the getStyle approach.
Search for "theme" and "styles" in help, and follow the
instructions--they worked for me.
But once you get it all hooked up properly and can see your
changes when you Publish Preview your movie, don't freak out if you
make changes to the .as files that don't show up right away. I
found I had to close Flash and open again before most changes
appeared.

For a simple accordion menu design in flash we have to writting classes that requires advanced knowledge in writting object oriented as3.0.
But in javacsript we can make an accordion menu with jquery in just a minute.
Is there any effortless way to create accordion or sliding menu instead of incommodious AS3.0 Classes?
I have found classes for this animations that very hard to learn.

The problem started after last update. I tried following the directions in firefox Help without success. They were confusing and the instructions did not match what I was seeing on my screen. I need a simple quick fix thank you.

No fix for Categories / Calendar dilemma in 10.4.9 ?! Petition?
What is it going to take for Apple to support Categories from Palm devices to iCal?? I thought for sure that it would be fixed with the release of 10.4.9, but alas...
I know Apple reads these (or some of them at least) so Mr. Jobs, PLEASE release a iSync / iCal patch that will support Calendars created as Categories in Palm devices and vise versa!

Who's blaming the consumer? I am simply saying that the expectations or demands of the consumer might be quite unrealistic. It is, after all, FREE bundled software. What else does it not do? It doesn't support users of danger hiptop, Blackberry or Windows Mobile OS devices. Should it? Are those reasonable expectations?
Should Apple bundle free software equivalent to Microsoft Office? What is reasonable? Are those questions that consumers should answer, or Apple?
I agree that it could be a much stronger product, but I'm not sure where they should draw the line. And consistent with their desire to encourage and support a strong, vibrant developer community, it doesn't make much sense to pull the rug out from underneath Mark/Space, Information Appliance Associates, snerdware, Spanning Sync and others working to extend the Sync Services framework.
