Simulation/Build Difference

I have a series of 17 menus that jump between each other that works perfectly in the simulation. When I build the project they are out of order. Is there a file I need to delete which is retaining an old build? HELP!

Set your build location to another place that you can easily see and open with Apple DVD Player to make sure you are opening the newest build. Did you double check the connections on the buttons that take you from one menu to the next?

  • Simulator build needed for Single-edition DPS App

    Hi everyone!
We're trying to embed our App into our site with one of those sites that offers that kind of service, but they're asking for a simulator build and won't accept .ipa files or even the distribution .zip for the App store. They do offer a plugin for Xcode that helps you take it over staright from there. Problem is, nothing except the transfer was done from within Xcode, so there's nothing there, obviously.
So, the question is, how do we get a "simulator build?" Presumably, that's what you create in Xcode for iOS simulator..? Is there a smart way of getting this from any of the builds I'll have after creating the App with DPS?
I've asked the company in question for support, but they seem a little busy setting up new offices and getting funding to answer the question or even provide some sort of troubleshooting page on their site. SUPER HELPFUL.
I've searched the DPS forum for something similar, but not found anything. If someone does have a thread link for this type of problme, please do post that, of course. Otherwise, any proverbial sharing of greymatter would be hugely appreciated.
    Thanks!

Hello Pete, please take a look at the following document and see if it applies to your case:

  • IOS Simulator build: SDK is missing GPL component X:\sdk_path\lib\aot/bin/as/as-386.exe

Trying to build a simulator build with air 16 or 17 and iPhoneSimulator8.2.sdk I get the following error:
SDK is missing GPL component X:\sdk_path\lib\aot/bin/as/as-386.exe
    igmake: *** [../bin/project.ipa] Error 16
    igmake: Leaving directory `X:/project/'
I've checked various sdk versions.  Some of them have an "as-386" file, but never a "as-386.exe" file.  I tried just renaming the file (hoping for the best) but that results in this error:
ld: in `)Ωtm♣Z, unsupported address encoding (08) of personality function in CIE
    for architecture i386
Compilation failed while executing : ld64
    igmake: *** [../bin/project.ipa] Error 12
    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Yes I know that.
But what I was expecting was that things which worked in AIR 3.3 beta 3 would continue to work. As in this link http://blogs.adobe.com/airodynamics/2012/05/18/using-platformsdk-for-ios-on-windows/
In fact the Release notes that you point to state:
Platform SDK support for iOS on Windows
Now, a developer can copy the iOS SDK folder on a Windows® machine and use the platformsdk option of adt on Windows® too.
    adt –package –target (ipa-app-store|ipa-ad-hoc|ipa-debug|ipa-debug-interpreter|ipa-test|ipa-test-interpreter) -platformsdk
This feature is not yet available in Flash Builder. The SDK should be copied properly, i.e. the symbolic links in the iOS SDK should be converted to actual files on Windows® , else, packaging will fail.

  • Difference btw simulator and actual disc behavior

Okay, so I have a project in which the buttons behave properly in the simulator, but then on the finihsed disc it's all wonky!
To be specific, I have it so that, if you're playing a track and are up to chapter 10 when you hit MENU, it takes you to chapter 10 in the chapter listing. And in the simulator, it does this.
However, when I burn the disc, or otherwise watch the TS folder in DVD Player, when I hit MENU, instead of going to the current chapter, it goes back to the first chapter in the first MENU, regardless of where I am. Anyone know what I'm overlooking?

I use this method all the time, specifying the chapter index buttons as the menu jumps for markers in a track, and it usually works both places. (Simulator, build in DVD Player, burned disc...)
I can imagine a few things that might have this effect:
are there any stories, etc., attached to your track? markers in a track can overrride the default menu jump for the track, but stories will override default behaviors for both the track and its markers.
Are there any pre-scripts on your menus or tracks? Assigning pre-scripts can sometimes supersede other DVDSP commands, such as button selection. In the DVD spec, commands that are processed before a menu or title are referred to as pre-commands. Specifying a button on a menu as a target winds up using the pre-command on the menu to select the specific button, but if you set a pre-SCRIPT for the menu in DVDSP, DVDSP will apply that to the menus pre-command instead of the button selection specification. One of the few remaining ways in which DVDSP is not a completely spec-based tool.
Try assembling a quick plain-vanilla test with a new project and check a build in DVD Player to make sure it's not something specific to your project.
    Hope this helps -

  • Why is my In design swatch panel creating swatches with different color builds than Pantone formulas

I am working in ID CS5 now but I have seen this problem in older versions as well. After creating a swatch, either process or spot, and using any of the Pantone selection choices, I get a different formula build than what is in the Pantone books. For example; PMS 110 PC is 2/24/100/7 in the book, but in InDesign it formulates as 0/12/100/7. Doers anyone have info on this?
    S

maybe just as well, we are getting CS6 this month
CS6 includes Pantone+ Color Bridge libraries, which use CMYK Process definitions to simulate Pantone solid colors. The new solid library colors (i.e., Pantone+ Coated) are always defined as spot type with Lab definitions—you can no longer switch to CMYK definitions via Ink Manager for the those libraries.
Pantone+ Color Bridge Coated defines 110 as process CMYK 2|22|100|8. It's not surprising Pantone is always changing the CMYK simulation builds because the appearance of CMYK depends on the printing conditions. Personally I would go for a color managed conversion, allowing that much black in a saturated yellow seems questionable.

  • Flexrio FPGA dma and dram simulation

I have a pair of Flex RIO 7966r boards where I am trying to perform DRAM to DMA transfers.  Each FPGA uses both banks of DRAM.  One bank for capturing Camera Link frames, the other bank for capturing sub-frames from within each frame (And performing some processing on the sub-frame data).
Each DRAM bank is written into from their own target scopes FIFOs.
Each DRAM bank is read into their own target-to-host DMA FIFOs.
When only one side is operating or the other (Capturing sub-frames by themselves or full frames by themselves) everything flows nicely.  But when I capture both at the same time, there appears to be some sort of contention in the DRAM (I suspect from the DMA engine).  Since I am simulating all of this, I would like to ask if anyone has the detailed descriptions of the DRAM interface signals below?  These are generated by LabView but I have found no explanation of what they mean in any documentation.
Also, in the simulation build, there is obviously a DMA simulation.  But from within the simulator, I can find no signals related to the FPGA based DMA FIFOs or the simulated DMA transfers.  All I can infer about the DMA transfers is the effect on the DRAM above.  The DMA FIFO is being populated directly from the DRAM (Yes, this is a highly modified variant of the 10 tap cameralink (with DRAM) example from the NI-1483 examples).
Does anyone know how I can see the DMA bahavior from within a simulation?  This would most likely allow me to see exactly why the contention is taking place.
    Thanks!

    Hey xl600,
I'm not immediately sure how to have ISim display the DMA Engine behavior, but I'll see if I can I dig anything up for you. I've come across a couple of other users encountering issues with FIFO signals appearing in ISim over on the Xilinx forums, so it might be worthwhile to post there as well in case it happens to be due to ISim itself.

  • NPAPI difference between Firefox and chrome

    Hi,
    I'm writing some plugin; I got Gesko SDK from mozilla site; After build it successfully loaded and working on Firefox;
    I tried to load and execute it with chrome; I found that chrome cannot load plugin; After some debugging I found that plroblem in function table structures - size of structures is not the same in firefox and chrome;
    Additional search bring me to a difference - it is in alignment; Firefox and Gesko using 32 bit alignment/packaging, and chrome use 8 bit alignment/packaging;
    So, my questions are:
-is it bug of chrome or firefox?
    -when will it be fixed?
-I did not work with chrome previously; from when is this build difference?

This forum is geared toward Firefox end user support, not toward developers, so you may not get an answer from anyone who knows exactly what you are talking about. Not to sound rude, but if your plugin is working in Firefox, but not in Chrome wouldn't it make sense to ask a Google support forum about your Firefox plugin not working in Chrome?
As far as 8-bit vs. 32-bit, AFAIK 8-bit operating systems and programs date back like 20 years, so I doubt if Google is using 8-bit in its' plugins. But that would best be addressed by someone familiar with Chrome development and plugins.

  • " no provisioning profile"

    Hi,
i have a problem with ID apple,
    i have a crash report
No provisioning profile, result i can't use ios devise simulator
    thanks for your help

I got bitten by this today too. The problem seems to be that the same settings are used for everything, there's no difference between the simulator and the device settings, or at least I can't find a place to put them.
Now it appears, at least to me, that instead of having to set the iPhone Code Signing Identity field to "iPhone Developer:Roland King", and then pull my provisioning profile from the dropdown list, just leaving it at the default (iPhone Developer and Default .. etc ) works and it finds it, that's a change. It seems that if you actually go and set them, it tries to use the same settings for the simulator builds and that fails for .. I have no clue why.
I don't know what you're supposed to do if you have more than one provisioning profile as you couldn't leave it at default then.
I fixed this by the way without actually editing any files, I just clicked 'info' on the 'target' and went to the code signing section there and set everything back to default.
I think this doesn't really work quite right, the simulator builds should, I'm sure, ignore the code signing options and you should be able to set them for the phone builds to a specific code-signing profile.

  • My ipad3 asks to be activated even though I've had it for months

I've had my ipad3 for months now. I activated it when I first got it. Last night I've left it to charge and this morning it keeps asking me for activation. I'm an apple iOS developer and I've had iOS 6 Beta on it for a while. I believe I did update it to the latest one when iOS 6 became available. When connecting to iTunes it says that "version of ipad software (6.0) is the current version" however when I hook up my iPad3 to iTunes I get the warning "The software on iPad has expired and must be updated to a newer version". Then iTunes reports it can't back up the iPad as session could not be started with it. But then when I click on Check for update button in iTunes it keeps reporting I have current version (so I guess no update is available)... its rather vicious cycle... cmon guys - get it together. What am I to do right now? I've been using my device so far with no problems. It started happening this morning for the first time. My device seems in wierd state now. When I try activating it (even though why should I? I've done it months ago) it reports back that "Your iPad could not be activated because activation server is temporarily unavailable..." what the heck?

First - your entire post didn't provide any value of any sort apart from getting you up the ladder with your Level 10 points
The upgrade process, whether its Beta or not, should be simplified. With Apple focusing on user experience in many areas, this Beta upgrade process is seriously stuck in the toilet. Having to Restore the device because the algorithm can't detect that released 6.0 version is not an upgrade for Beta 6.0 is probably because that "if ()" condition was coded by toddlers. The system should notice minor build difference and allow user to download latest version just like with any other type of upgrade. This upgrade flow was designed by the same team that created new Apple Maps... Jeez...

  • Customer Payment using Reason codes

    Hi Freinds,
I have checked many SDN replies on this, but i didnt find the right solution.
I have assigned GL account for Reason code 055 for ZDI (Payment differences by reason)  in OBBE. In F-28 i want to post some difference amount to this account automatically. when i selected 055 on Residual tab and simulated, the difference amount again going to Customer a/c.
Please tell me the possible reasons and please explain me briefly how to use the Reason codes in F-28 step by step
    Appreciate your help.
    Thanks in advance.
    Kanna.

    Hi,
Please check the settings for 'Reason code: 55' through 't.code: OBBE'.
Though you asign a GL account for reason code, if the reason code is not activated for Charge off difference via separate account, system will not charge-off the difference to a GL account.
    Thanks,

  • Canon produce a zoom lens to compete with Sigma 150-500mm and soon to be released Tamron 150-600mm

When will Canon complete with Sigma 150-500mm ($899 B&H), Tamron 150-600mm ($1,060) B&H, the L 100-400 is outdated compared to these newer lens, $600 more expensive and doesn't have the range using my 7D
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Easy answer!
Neither of those lenses are close to the level of quality, all things considered, as the Canon 100-400mm f4.5-5.6 L IS.
In this respect they are NOT comparable. If you disregard everything except build quality, the comparison is not even close.
Not that the third party lenses are not serviceable, they are.  But certainly you see the distinct difference?
You are simply not going to get a Canon L for a Sigma price.
Sigma has made some extreme strides in lens production lately. For instance the 35mm f1.4 Sigma is by all accounts sharper than the daunted Canon 35mm f1.4 L. But upon closer examination the build difference is quite noticeable. What's it worth to you?
Now if you want Canon to update the 100-400mm, they will and I suspect to see it this year. The year of the lens!
If you want it to be in the 500mm to 600mm range, I doubt it will happen.
A 400mm f5.6 L prime with IS is supposed to be in the future, too. Very interesting as this is a real winner of a lens.

    verification:
i find sims script use tools\src\sims\sims,1.262 script and one of the two config file (core1 and chip8) to realize the simulation.
Differences between core1.config and chip8.config are:
    1. the switch "-config_rtl". In core1.config,there is one RTL_SPARC instance while eight in chip8.config.
    2.the switch "-config_rtl".In chip8.config, there is oneRTL_IOBDG instance.
    3.the switch"-sas_run_args=-DSP".In core1.config, there is one while 8 in chip8.config.
    4. the switch "-sim_run_args=+BW_BFM".In core1.config,there are 7 bfm which none in chip8.config.
    5. other differences.
    synthesis
    1.tools\perlmod\rsyn,1.0 is the true script;
    2.design\sys\synopsys\script\target_lib.scr should be changed to use your own asic library;
3.design\sys\synopsys\block.list is don't touch module list. OpenSPARCT1_DVGuide.pdf would make a mistake about block.list

Due to some reason, I can't continue doing verification.I am now trying to read HDL code and to understand the structure.
Now modules under analog directory will be analyzed first.
Under this directory there are the funcional view of the analog blocks in Osparc T1.
1.under dir-"analog\bw_clk",there are the modules which gives the description of clocks.there are jbus_clk,ddr_clk,cmp_gclk.
    The module"bw_clk_cclk_hdr_48x" is unuseful.
The module "bw_clk_cclk_scanlasr_2x" defines the scan data out(so).
The module "bw_clk_cclk_sync"defines the synchronization of the jbus data transferring(tx and rx) and dram data transferring by cmp_clk.
The module "bw_clk_gl" defines the global clocks and buffers.
The module "bw_clk_gl_rstce_rtl" defines the global clock buffers and repeaters.
2.under dir-"bw_ctu_pad_cluster",there is only one file. One signal is jclk(J_CLK) and will be enable when define the RTL_PAD_CTU(RTL_CTU) state.Another signal is tsr_testio(TSR_TESTIO[1:0]) which is from tempsensor.
Also 1.5v digital vdd and 1.8v analog vdd are defined.
3.under dir-"bw_iodll", there are three files.
One is bw_iodll.v, which is master delay-locked loop.the signal lpf_out will be bypass_data if io_dll_bypass_l equals to zero.
The second is bw_ioslave_dl.v, which is slave delay line module. The signal dqs_out will ouput after the input has delayed 1/4 cycle.
The third is bw_iodll_code_adjust.v.Because I have no idea about PLL. So i don't understand about it.
These three files are not used by the top module IOP,which sounds strange.
    4. under dir-"bw_pll",there is only one file- bw_pll.v,which describe the functional view of PLL.It seems PLL uses 200MHZ clock input. I don't understand about it.
5.under dir-"bw_rng",there is one file. this is the random number generator module.the random number is generated per 0.5 us.the rng_clk is 1us period.
6.under dir-"bw_temp_diode",there is one file, which is temperature senser diode module with three pins.(I don't know how does it work)
7.under dir-"bw_tsr",there is one file, which is temperature sensor register.dout is the weighted value of temperature.
p.s. I will post my idea about opensparc T1 in following days.Because I am now a student and busy for my lessons , I would make many mistakes .Hope everybody give me wise advices in new posts.
    Thanks.

  • EA4500 guest network re-authentication doesn't work

I have successfully set up a guest network on my EA4500. Guest laptop associates with guest SSID just fine. Then via IE, it gets prompted for the guest password, which is entered and accepted just fine. At this point guest laptop is on the network. Hooray!
BUT... at some point the guest laptop will need to reauthenticate (I don't know what the timeout is, but maybe one or two days?). Anyway, it's at this point that IE presents the guest network login page. But now after typing in the password, "enter" or clicking on the button does nothing. It looks like the guest web page doesn't get loaded properly or completely, so the reauthentication can't complete, therefore can't get to the internet. So, while in this state, I've also tried Firefox and Chrome, and same thing, no action when trying to submit the guest password. Tried rebooting guest laptop, and still same problem. Only thing I've found so far that works is to reboot the router. So I'm guessing there's a problem with the guest/web server on the router?? It's a real pain to have to reboot the router every day or two, when I've had other Linksys routers run for months without having to touch them.
I was running CCC 2.1.38 when I first noticed the problem. Since then I've downgraded to Classic 2.0.37, but it seems I still have the same problem. Again, I can connect & authenticate just fine initially, but when reprompted after some period of time, it doesn't work.
I've tried contacting Cisco support, but it looks like I'm at 91 days since purchase and thus outside of my 90-day complimentary support, so they happily provided me with the premium support options just to have the honor of talking with them. Guess I shouldn't have spent so much time trying to figure this out myself.
I've searched the forums here, but so far haven't found any answers (I do see posts where the guest web page isn't presented at all, but in my case the page is presented, just can't do anything). Anyone seen this or have any ideas?

jaymay -- I agree there's no harm in a reset; just the time to reconfigure, reenter DHCP reservations, etc. I'll keep this as an option as I troubleshoot, but see next...
TEXXSHARKK -- good news/bad news ... I ended up not yet resetting. Instead, since I had this problem first with CCC firmware 2.1.38 (Build 138828 - the automatically pushed update), I reverted back to Classic 2.0.37. Still same problem with guest re-authentication. Only workaround was to reboot the router. That's when I first posted.
So, since I had the problem with both CCC and Classic firmware, I ended up going back to CCC. To do that, I needed to manually update, which is 2.1.38 (Build 138880 for web manual download only). SInce (re)updating the firmware, I haven't had a repeat of the original problem. It's been about a week now, and the guest laptop has gone through a number of re-authentications, all without problem. For continued troubleshooting, I've been periodically connecting my iPad, BlackBerry, etc, to the guest network, and they get through the authentication page just fine as well. So that's the good news in that the problem "seems" to have gone away.
The bad news is that it's still unexplained:
    - There's what I assume is a just a minor build difference between the two CCC firmwares, so it seems unlikely that would make a difference?
    - Could be just the fact of reburning the firmware corrected whatever the problem was -- a la doing a reset, even though I didn't reconfigure, just firmware (re)update
    - Could be the problem is still there biding its time, waiting for me to think it's forever gone, only to pounce again
If the problem does reappear, I'll update here.

  • IDELAY : Tap delay control using Ref_frequency

    Hello,
I am trying to understand the IDELAY modules and I've read quite a few discussions on this forum regarding the same.
    My doubt is the following:
I am using Kintex-7, with speed grade -2 and the data sheet states that I must get an average delay of 52ps (Tap delay) when I set the reference frequency to 300Mhz.
I tried driving two IDelay blocks with tap values 0 and 1 with the same signal(data_in). Ideally, the output must be two signals separated by 52ps; This is exactly what I see in the post-route FUNCTIONAL simulation.
However, when I run the post route TIMING simulation, the difference is 64ps and not 52ps.
Also, I probed the DATAIN  pin of the two IDelay blocks and I see the signals at the input of both the IDELAY blocks, arrive at the same time. This means the routing delay is not causing the extra (65-52)ps of delay.
    Could anyone please explain this?
    Thanks!
    -Kamath

The calibration process does not take into account the exact values, but tries to calibrate by increasing/decreaasing these tap values such that the data is at the centre of the eye
    Sorry, but that's not true...
Don't confuse the calibration process of the IDELAY (which is done internally using the IDELAYCTRL and sets the delay of each tap), and any user implemented dynamic calibration process that is trying to find the center of a data eye by adjusting the number of taps.
The delay taps in the IDELAY are calibrated to be fixed values. The average value of an individual tap is Trefclk/64, however there is some variation from tap to tap - notably, the first tap is larger than the rest.
The calibration done by the IDELAYCTRL calibrates a string of 64 elements, so that the sum of the 64 elements is one complete period of REFCLK. The calibration information obtained for these 64 element is used for the 32 elements in each IDELAY/ODELAY. If all the delay elements were identical, then that would result in the perfect tREFCLK/64 for each element, but they aren't perfectly identical - due to a number of internal factors, the delay elements are slightly different.
But, a given element  will always be the same value across process voltage and temperature (PVT). So, if tap0 measures as 64ps, it will be 64ps across all PVT; tap1 may be a different value, but it will be that value across PVT.
There is a white paper that describes this effect (and others) for the Virtex-4 (which was similar to V5, V6 and the 7 series - but not UltraScale) here.
The static timing analysis tools know about the variation from tap to tap, so the results you get out of trce or Vivado static timing analysis will be exact; these should always be your final verification for "tweaking" the number of taps you want for static phase shifting of an interface.
