Simultaneous connections for a user

Hello,
I'm working a project, which involves having a single user to query, the user of the database would be used by many users (without them having an account), ie all would use this account to make inquiries ..
I had not had a problem like this and so I come to see, how many simultaneous connections a user can have and if you can change the maximum number of simultaneous connections. Since on average the database would receive between 2000 and 3000 queries per minute and it seems a little overloaded for a single user.
You might want to have more users for this?
You can use this option to increase the number of simultaneous connections?
I use Oracle 11g Express
Of course I am very grateful for the help and response.
Greetings.

This is what APEX is built for, AskTom.oracle.com does this daily.

Its a late response... but if someone gets the same issue here is the solution.
When you register try uppercase password . That should take care of that issue.
The problem is with function module CRM_ISA_IUSER_SWITCH , Note 946536.
Although the note says 5.0 the problem exists with ISA 4.0 too

  • Maximum simultaneous connections for WRT350N

    Hi,
What is the maximum number of simultaneous connections that the WRT350N router can handle whilst allowing 1 user to surf the internet?
I need to know this so I can set the maximum number of connections in uTorrent. My upload speed is 1.1 mbps, which is roughly 140 kBps.
The PC has a direct connection to the router, the wireless has been turned off.

There is no such defined number of user for TCP/IP connection. However, you can try to tweak the settings on the application and check if that helps.read this link and this link.

  • Step 20 - Create new connection for NORTHWIND user, Northwind - Migrated

    Hello,
I am migrating the Northwind database from Access to Oracle, and I am following the directions, but when I get to step 20, create a new connection for the Northwind User, Northwind - Migrated, I cannot create the connection. After running the converted model script that was generated by the workbench -- I don't see the Northwind - Migrated database. So how can I create a connection to it?
Also -- after I ran the script, I did not see any messages in the log showing I ran the script, but the status bar at the bottom of the tool said script finished..... I am confused.
    Thanks!
    Jeff

Anyone have this same issue trying to migrate the Northwind database to access using migration workbench?
    Thanks so much,

  • Allow connection to RDS applicatoins and restrict RDP connection for domain users

I have configured RDS setup, with the following Roles: RD Web Access, RD Gate Way, RD Connection Broker, RD Session Host and RD Licensing.
the problem is that the domain users can't run the published applications unless I add the "Domain Users" group into the remote desktop users on the RDS servers, but now all domain users can connect RDP to the RDS servers.
so we need domain users to connect to the RDS published applications and restricting them from connecting RDP to the RDS servers, in addition I can see that internal servers are accessible from outside through the RD gateway server.
    any ideas ?

    Hi,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
For a test you can create one group, assign the specified user under that group. Add that group under “Remote Desktop User” local group. For getting access to published Remote Application you can simply assign\add the group under collection properties of the
application and that user can get access.
For restricting user to server remotely, you can add that group of user under “Deny logon through remote desktop service” under User Rights assignment. Also you can check “Deny
New User Logons to an RD Session Host Server” settings.
    Hope it helps!
    Thanks.

  • MOTD on Library connect for remote users?

What I'm basically looking for: Is there a way so users connecting to my library from other machines recieve a Message Of The Day or similar?
For instance, I'm slowly transferring my music from home to my laptop at work, and it would be nice to have something like "Recently Added: (blah blah blah)" appear for people upon connect.
Is there a way to do this? If not, no big deal.

    Hey Phrasant,
I just tested your setup in my lab.
    Situation 1:
RDS server in OU RDS, no policies applied accept Default Domain policies.
    Test user ITW\jklaas
Starting Wordpad, hitting Save and checking the drives.
As you can see in the Drives_Without_Policies I can see the Server's C-drive.
    Situation 2:
    RDS server in OU RDS
    Test user ITW\jklaas
Created a single policy called HideDrives with 2 settings:
    1. User Config -> Policies -> Admin Templates -> Windows Components -> File Explorer -> "Hide these specified drives in My Computer" and choose to "Restrict all drives"
    2. Computer Config -> Policies -> Admin Templates -> System -> Group Policy -> "Configure user Group Policy loopback processing mode" and choose to Enable this setting in Merge mode
Via Delegation I denied Apply to Domain Admins and linked the HideDrives policy to the OU RDS.
Now if I logon with ITW\Jklaas and start RemoteApp Wordpad:
The policy successfully hides the server's C-drive...
So, this not working for you can mean several things.
    - loopback not configured for policy processing?
    - your test user is somehow excluded from the policy?
    - there's another error somewhere in the group policy components between your RDS and DC?
Start troubleshooting by running the GP Result wizard in GP management for a user that has Word open and see if he/she gets the policies?

  • Mobile account on laptop will no longer connect for one user

I have a set of laptops with user accounts set up on them as mobile accounts.  This morning one user stuck in his username and password, and the login panel went away and the "purple stars" came up, but it hung there and didn't continue and log him in.  After about 5 minutes he got tired of waiting and hit the power button on the laptop.  When it rebooted, the usual login panel offering his name, the local administrator account and "other"  was missing his name -- just the admin account and "Other".  Then he came to find me...
If I go to "Other..." and ldap is green light, and put in his username and password, it shakes it's head like he doesn't exist.  I've tried all of the usual tricks back on the Open Directory server -- turn his account off and back on, change the password save change it back, etc.  I have compared the setup with several other users who work just fine, and I can't see anything different.  I have even logged in with my account (which is not set up for mobility) and it takes the username and password and refuses after a certain point in the login.  When I log in with other mobile accounts, it logs in and gets as far as offering to create a local directory (which I cancel out of.)  So it's just this one user's account.
When I log in to the local admin account and run system prefs and go to accounts, his account is there and shown as type "mobile".  His directory is there, and an 'ls -l' on it shows that he owns it.  I've run the directory utility, and everything looks great -- and I can log on via ldap with the other accounts.  If I break ldap connectivity by turning off the airport and unplugging the ethernet cable, the light goes red and then the only option on the login panel is the local admin account, not the lodmin plus his account in local mode.
Anybody know what's broken?  Evidently the mobile accounts don't like to be powered off in the middle of a login!  Anybody know if there is some lock file somewhere that I needs to be deleted?

    Hi @TSimo,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I wasn't able to find much on a Photosmart 7420, did you perhaps mean Photosmart 7520?
If that is correct, this may just be a case of needing to reconnect the printer to the wireless network again due to the upgraded router and extender
To do this, please restore the network defaults on the printer (press the wrench on the printer's touch screen, select Wireless, then select Restore Network Defaults, should be the last option) and once that completes go back to the same Wireless menu on the printer and run the Wireless Setup Wizard on the printer. This will update the connection on the printer itself.
After this completes you will need to remove the driver and re-add it on the computer. How this is done depends on the operating system, so if you're not sure how to remove the driver and re-add it, please let me know which operating system you use and I will get you some instructions
Hope to hear from you soon!

  • Uanble to create connection for different users

    Hi everyone,
I Have created several users in security manager and created a profile and assigned this profile to all users. However, I am unable to connect to the designer with these users. I have given the master repository info and the userinfo correctly. I am getting the following error. Does anyone have a solution?
    CONNECTION FAILED UNKNOWN WORK REPOSITORY
    java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 0 >= 0
    regards
    Babu

    Here are the basic steps
After logging into Security Manager - Go to Users Tab
Right Click any where to Insert User ( or) on the Tab you will find user Icon with plus , click on it to Insert a new User.
Provide the UserName and Password and in Notes make sure you provide the Complete Name of the User as it would be easy to find in future .
At the end you will find Supervisor Access Privileges and check mark Supervisor . Supervisor users have highest priviledge and can over ride any sub profiles if any assigned to them , so make sure you are giving it to the right users.
    Assigning Profile
In the Profile tab , drag in the required profile and drop under the individual USER option profile and this way you can assign the required profiles. Keep doing for what ever profile you want to do so for any number of users.

  • Deploy Adobe Connect for outside user access

I am deploying Adobe Connect 8.2.0 and it works great internally on my domain running SSL on both the App and Meeting Server. I was wondering what is the best way to grant access to outside users to connect to meetings hosted from my "on-premise" Adobe Connect Server? By best way, I mean the most secure not only for Adobe Connect but as well as my domain.
I thought about standing up an Edge server in the DMZ but I was told not many companies do this for what I am looking for, and that mostly they simply use a proxy and poke some holes in the firewall to let in the traffic.
So how does everyone else do it?

In my experience, most people don't like to "poke some holes int he firewall" as it poses other security risks. The Edge server is a valid method of getting externall access to the Connect server. However for getting advice on how other people have done this, I would post your question to the Connect User Community at http://www.connectusers.com/forums/cucbb/
There are many knowledgeable Connect Admins there and they should have good advice for you there.

  • Repository connection for all user

    Hi,
I have following question. I have ODI studio installed on a machine. Many users are using this machine via remote desktop.
I have created repository connection and I can succesfully connect. However other users of this PC when try to connect to repository do not see this connection in login name list and can not log in. How to make it vissible to all users? I can not create repository connection on all of theirs users accounts and not want to share maste repository db password.
    Best regards,
    Greg

You can add a windows environment variable IDE_USER_DIR and setting it to a directory, then copy the config information from your user directory
Have a read in Oracle Support - "How To Set Up A Shared ODI Studio Environment To Allow Multiple Users To Have Their Own Specific Folders On Microsoft Windows OS? [ID 1277560.1]"
If you read the article it says to add a user folder I think if you don't enter the user folder and copy the config files from a user directory it may use one folder for all (though I can't remember to be honest)
e.g. create IDE_USER_DIR and set it to C:\ODI_CONFIG
    Copy C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\odi\oracledi folder to C:\ODI_CONFIG
If it doesn't work with one root folder then you can just create user directories under the directory set in IDE_USER_DIR and copy the config contents into each folder.

  • Max number of simultaneous connections?

    Hi everyone!
how is possible to determine in advance the max number of simultaneous connection for my FMS?
    thanks!

    Hi,
Like Jay had mentioned the limitation on the number of connection to server depends on the capability of your server.
You can get the maximum number of connections made to the server, number of active clients... etc details through Administration APIs.
'getServerStats' gives you the "total_connects", which is the maximum number of connections made to the server. "connected" property will return the number of active clients to your server at one point. It also has many more statistics for your reference. This api returns the overall information of the server. If you want to get the details for specific vhost, you can use getVHostStats or getActiveVHostStats. To get more details on Administration API, refer your pdf documentation on "Administration API", that gets installed in your system under "$Root\Flash Media Server\documentation\flashmediaserver_3.5_administrationAPI.pdf".

  • JMS authorization for default user

    Hi All,
I need to configure the JMS authorization for WLS 9.2. I succeed to do it for specific user that determined with access control to JMS Topic resource:
    TopicConnection _topicConnection = topicConnectionFactory.createTopicConnection(_user, _password);
Along with it I succeed to create topic connection without sending the user/password:
    TopicConnection _topicConnection = topicConnectionFactory.createTopicConnection();
I can't understand why I succeed if I configured the access to a JMS Topic Connection for specific user only. How I can close this access for default user?

    Hi,
The user/pass arguments supplied for the createConnection call in WebLogic is only checked for the createConnection call itself, and there's no ACL check -- the call only checks that the user is a valid user. As far as I know there's no direct way to restrict the ability to create a JMS Connection to a particular JMS user (no way to specify an ACL directly). What you can do instead is configure an ACL on the JNDI name of the connection factory. You can also configure ACLs on your destinations (not just the JNDI name for the destination).
For pretty much all API calls (not just JMS API calls), WebLogic generally obtains the implicit security credentials stored in the current thread. The current thread's credentials are initialized either by the user/pass that was passed in the most recent time a Context was created by the application using that same thread, or, if on the server and no context was created, the credential can be supplied as part of the EJB's or servlet's configuration.
These implicit thread credentials are checked in various places when accessing a particular destination, as well as during JNDI lookups (applies if you've configured ACLs in your JNDI tree).

  • Network and web simultaneous connections

    Hi,

  • ACSE - Max. number of simultaneous sessions for a given user?

    Hi,
I know in the ACSE one can limit the number of simultaneous sessions for a given user; but is there a maximum number of sessions any one user can have open if they aren't specifically limited? (i.e. - Is there anything to prevent one user from having, say 50 sessions open?)
    Thanks,Nick

    Hi Nick,
ACS only provide authentication (and authorization and accounting) services with various ability like limiting LOGIN sessions to/through a device, controlling what command to execure (tacacs+) and so on.
However, I don't think ACS has the ability to limit how many sessions can be opened/established from a client to a server or application. This should be controlled by either by the servers or applications.
A device like firewall (PIX/ASA) can only limit connection to a server, but not from a device.
