I read someone said you can tap on "other" when selecting which wifi you connect to and then entering the exact wifi name of the network you wish to join and the password and then joining that network allowed the password to be saved. Also with iOS 6 the minimum length of the password needs to be 8 characters. Maybe you password on your router is less than 8 characters long

Only your bank can tell you why your login is being rejected. Apple doesn't have acces to their servers. Are you certain you have the correct login credentials?
If so, make sure Keychain isn't loading an old password by deleting the password entries for your bank from your login keychain in Keychain Access.

I also had problem accessing my WD MyBookLive after upgrading to Maverick.
To resolve the problem, I used Connect To Server (Cmd K) to specify the IP address.
Then I enter a user id and password I created in the MyBookLive.
You can also verify that you have admin access to the MyBookLive using Safari or Chrome.
Just enter the MyBookLive IP address as the URL.

P55T-A5116 when it automatically goes to sleep it will not wake up without a hard reboot

When I allow my computer to go to sleep and it stays in sleep mode for about 15 min, it will not wake up unless you do a hard reboot. The power button stays solid illumination of white and the screen is black, even when I make the settings for any keyboard stroke to wake it up. I updated the driver for the display, but that did not work. I've looked at all the postings in the forum, but doesn't seem to have a solution.
The odd thing is that if I manually put the computer to sleep, the power indicator blinks like it should in sleep mode and wake back up. The issue is when I just leave it unattended and let it go to sleep. The only thing I haven't done is do a complete factory reset, which I really don't want to do. Can someone help me with this?

Its very very annoying and it has stressed me because i have much to do. i have checked power settings but looks to be okay. Safe Boot , (holding Shift key down at bootup), use Disk Utility from there to Repair Permissions, test if sleep/wake works OK in Safe Mode.
Reboot & test.
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.

Ever since I upgraded to 4.0, the welcome tab will not stop opening. It's getting rather annoying.

The welcome tab for the new 4.0 will not stop opening every time I open my browser. Each time I open Firefox two tabs open, the welcome page for the new 4.0 and my home page. I updated some time ago and this welcome page is becoming quite annoying. How do I stop it from opening? In the past, it has stopped after the first time I open Firefox following an update.

Thank you for the reply. I have Google set as my homepage, and that's the only homepage listed in the Options box. I tried restoring to default, but when I opened again, the 4.0 page and Google opened again. That leads me to think it might be options, but that article meant absolutely nothing to me.
What I find strange is that when I have one Firefox window open, then open another Firefox window, only the Google page opens, not the "get to know 4.0" page.

10.6.4 Macbook pro sleeps then will not wake

I have several issues that have come up after i upgraded to 10.6.4. I have a 2.53 MBP with a Apple monitor and wireless keyboards. I did not have these problems before the upgrade, but my computer locks up once it goes to sleep and the only way to get out of this is to manually turn it off (press the power key). I have done just about everything including a reinstall and upgrade, repairing permissions (multiple times) and other stuff to try to fix this and nothing seems to work. Any ideas?

still having problems. today i learned a bit more as i came in and woke it up and had the bluish screen that has been the problem and that cute beach ball. Locked, BUT i did hear the chime where it had picked up emails so it might not be totally "locked", but just the screen? Maybe the screensaver with iphoto ? And i have had a Mac since the 512 (way too long) and so am pretty familier with what to do. I have run DIsk Repair, Disk Warrior and Techtoool Pro both as the system is open as after launching under my "utility" partitian and also under the Target DIsk mode. Believe me i have done about all i know to solve this and this is why i am here./ Thanks for the additional help.

Printers Go To Sleep and will not wake up by a print job on the wireless or wired network

I have an OfficeJet 4620, and a PhotoSmart3210. The 4620 is wireless, the 3210 is plugged into the router and both are shared on the network. We are running Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit SP1, the Router is a Linksys EA6500. The problem only occurs AFTER the printers go to sleep, their "Energy Saving Mode". I use That term with tongue in cheek as the energy required to get them back up and running, as well as lost productivity "fixing" a printer is a royal pain. Once they go to sleep I have to, at least, go to them and hit the "OK" button to wake them up. About 50% of the time this works, another 25% I have to re-boot the printer, and the final 25% I have to re-share it on the network. My question is: How do I turn off this "feature" (powersaving mode) on both? Nothing in either manual suggests that a way even exists. You can change the time (up to 1/2 hr awake) but that is it.
Any suggestions, up to and including buying an Epson will be gratefully accepted.

The easiest solution to the "not waking from sleep" issue is to simply plug the printers directly into the wall outlet. Something about the manner in which surge protectors/power strips handle electricity doesn't sit quite right when electronics want to wake up.
Another possibility is to upgrade the firmware on the printers. Here is the latest firmware for the Officejet 4620. The Photosmart does not appear to have upgradable firmware.
Yet another suggestion is to set static IP addresses for the printer(s). I am not sure why but having a static IP set seems to keep the printer from going into sleep mode in the first place.

And will not start up in safe mode. I have reset PRAM and SMC. Also restarted with no startup items, no luck. Had the problem of waking from sleep and not shutting down in 10.7, updated to 10.8 hoping for fix, no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, this log has some similarities to my ipod touch which seems to be not sleeping properly due to wireless issues. Can I check - are you using a wifi connection - if so have you tried ethernet?

Ever since I upgraded to FF 16.0.2 Gmail will not allow me to click on any message. I get this error "Oops- the system encountered a problem (#405)-Retrying"

Google Chat still works on the page, but I cannot access any message and the window does not refresh to show new messages. I am on Windows XP SP3 and have not seen any issues until the upgrade to FF 16.0.2 last week. I also have not installed any new software nor have I made any changes to my internet security software. I can access Gmail through IE8 and on my phone so it is not a Gmail issue.

If it happens again then try these steps:
Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (MAC)
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

My MacPro will not wake up from sleep after the 10.8.2 upgrade.

Since latest os upgrade to 10.8.2, my mac will not wake up from sleep.

Please read this whole message before doing anything. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it. The purpose of this test is to determine whether your problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Shut down your computer, wait 30 seconds, and then hold down the shift key while pressing the power button.
When you see the gray Apple logo, release the shift key.
If you are prompted to log in, type your password, and then hold down the shift key again as you click Log in.
*Note: If FileVault is enabled under OS X 10.7 or later, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode. Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs. The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

Monitor goes into sleep mode and will not wake up

My monitor goes to sleep and will not wake up. I try powering off and that will not respond. I have to unplug the workstation and start back up. I have turn off sleep to never sleep and now it just goes to sleep when Im working.

I have read your post on how your monitor goes into sleep mode and will not wake up, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter!
To rule out any sleep mode issues with the monitor, I am providing you with some steps you can try below:
Step 1. Unplug the power cord from the back of the monitor and the wall
Step 2. Hold the power button down for at least one minute
Step 3. Plug the power cord back into the monitor and then into the wall outlet (not a power bar or surge protector)
Step 4. Press the Menu button on the monitor
Step 5. Navigate to the Factory Reset option and select it
Step 6. Try a different cable connecting your monitor to your computer

To further diagnose a possible hibernation issue with your desktop, I recommend following the steps in this document on Troubleshooting sleep and hibernate issues (Windows 7). I also recommend following the steps below to reset your system's power management settings:
Step 1. Click the Start button
Step 2. In the search box, type "Command Prompt"
Step 3. Right-click Command Prompt
Step 4. Click Run as administrator
Step 5. At the command prompt, type powercfg /restoredefaultschemes and press Enter

Since I upgraded to Maverick when computer sleeps it will not wake up but must be restarted? Also password to icloud is never saved?
