Since the latest download the soft keyboard lags BAD when typing,especially if I' m in a browser and trying to reply to some post. It's lagging as I type this, though not as bad as usual. Most of the time it is effectively useless it drops so much.

Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
Or if this doesn't work and nobody else on the blog doesn't have a better idea you can contact Apple.

When I clear my history, Firefox clears my browsing and download history even though this checkbox is not checked. It didn't use to do this. What can I do to fix this? I believe the problem started with the last Firefox update.
Do you mean the "Form autocomplete" feature?

When recently synchronising my iphone it suggested to uograde to latest software. Now none of my sounds can be changed. Have gone to setting and tried to edit but the only sound I get is Marimba despite a different ringtone being selected?
I also lost my ringtones. I have spent about $100 dollars on ringtones to apply different songs to different callers...and now i can't find them.

Serious Malfunction with Curve 9220 since the time it has been bought
Had bought a blackberry curve 9220 in March 2013. Since the time it has been bought, there were network related issues.
In October, this phone got switched off by its own too. FInally after showng up at the service center they got this fixed.
Within a month, the trackpad started to deviate and stopped moving up and down.
Once this error was reported and shown at the service center, I was asked to pay 10000.
This is sheer malfunction and for no reason I have been asked to pay an amount which is more than the cost of the phone itself.
Can someone please reply to this and check into the issue.

Help help please... I'm running Photoshop CS, on a Windows XP machine. After re-booting the machine after an unexpected power failure I have been told that the "Configuration appears to have changed since the time this product was activated. To continue using this product I must re-activate it". BUT the activation link informs me that they no longer support the product (neither online nor telephonically). So how can I re-activate this software?

As you said above, yes, I did find OC4J config issue & EM Config issue and resolved them. But still I couldn't get my DBConsole started.
Yes, I was able to drop DBConsole<sid> service using 'emca' repository drop. But, when I started recreating repository for DBConsole service, I wasn't able to do it. I tried several times but in vain.

Since the time warner outage i can not send or receive email.
SInce the Time Warner Cable outage I can not send or receive any email from my phone. It keeps saying can not get mail. The connection to the server failed. What do i need to do to fix this? Please help!!

I have downloaded a film and want to burn it onto a dvd disc, how do i do this so that it will play in most DVD players?
I am just inserting blank dvd and going into finder and trying to burn disc, it looks as if it burns however does not play on a dvd player!!

Yes, there are other programs that will put a movie on a DVD. I have tried most of the substitutes. None of them come anywhere near the ease-of-use and power of iDVD.

With iDVD you can easily and quickly create DVDs with menus and graphics almost on the level of what Hollywood can do.
IDVD is easy to get. It is available on disk as part of iLife 11.
IDVD is a wonderful piece of software and well worth the low cost of $40. (works with all Mac OS 10.5 and newer.)

Just wondering what Apple's stand is on the issue with a flickering and a dark area appearing on imac 27"screen - forums seem to indicate this is not uncommon - and happens through normal use - so should be subject to repair (Sale of Goods Act - ie 6 year warranty)
We are just users like yourself. If Apple has stated publicly about the problems you mentioned, it will be listed on their website and/or in one of their Knowledge Base Articles.
I have a 27" & do not suffer from such a problem. You should keep in mind that these are technical support forums. Generally, the only people posting here are those with problems. The thousands/millions without problems don't ever come here.
Think of these forums as a hospital emergency room. -
Keyboard misses letters when typing
When I am typing on my keyboard that came with my computer, it misses letters. I type on several other keyboards and they all work fine so I don't think it is my touch. Had this for 3 months now and Best Buy refuses to take care of the problem for me. Can anybody help me?

Try restoring the iPod via iTunes. First from backup and if problem persists, restore to factory defaults/new iPod.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. If your iPod is with in the one-year warrranty, not abused and defective Apple will replace it. -
I'm trying to update to the latest software update 5.0, but won't let me do it. I have done a restore and tried again but still no luck. Any advice?
The Original update for Apple TV was to 4.4 then a bugfix appeared called 4.4.1 Both of these have issues so Apple Pulled them and currently 4.3 is the current version for Apple TV IOS. In fact there are a number of comments in other threads where people carried out the upgrades only to restore back down to 4.3 because they did not work. Guess we will wait for Apple to send out an update.

Help! Tried to lengthen the time of KP effect & everything stopped!
I am making a rather long iMovie with my family's old slides. I made a "draft" DVD, much shorter, with music, sound & video effects, my father's narration, & all chapter's (10 in all) marked, and it turned out well. I've got all my slides in the Timeline and I am in the process of going through adding mostly Ken Burns effects to about every 3rd one. I had hoped to put some transitions in between my chapters as well. I will then add my music & narration with a few sound effects. I went to lenthen 2 more chapter openings to 60 seconds which I need for the narration and the clips would not complete rendering. I went into iMovie trash and dragged the effected photo clips back to "clips" and the few that were not in the trash I re-imported from iPhoto into Clips. When I clicked on "show settings" the KB effect was not checked & as soon as I checked the box, each clip finished rendering except the 2 clips with the 60-second effects. I tried to "save project" and I got a message that said I had to wait until "56 clips complete rendering process". I waited for an hour and tried again and got the message "54 clips..." I was trying to "clear" the 2 clips and iMovie quit-and has been quitting for me every now and again ever since I started this final project (I've learned to Save as often as I can). Of course when I re-opened iMovie EVERYTHING I had done before was NOT done, including the clips that showed rendering complete. I had been emptying iMovie trash frequently, as recommended in iMovie Help, to save space and then I read all of the discussions regarding NOT to do that.
SO, where do I go from here? Why did these 2 clips get hung up rendering? (I had done 2 previously at the beginning of my movie). Is the length of 60 seconds the problem & would it be better to create several of the same clip with a transition? Why does iMovie keep quitting on me? My project is already about 1 hour and 45 minutes long (which I expected) & my husband (a film writer/producer) says I will probably have to burn to 2 DVD's. Any suggestions on this issue?
I really appreciate any help I can get as I have a deadline of 03/07/07!

I am not able to text one specific person on my iphone 4. They an sporadically send but she is not recieving my message. I have read several forums and tried several things.. resetting etc... to no avail.. someone mentioned this may be the network. can anyone help? the phone also say it is ready to install update to ios 7.0.6 which provides a fix for ssl connection verification. then it indicates cannot be installd bcause it requires at least 3.7 GB of storage. So i have deleted some things and pretty sure I have enough GB but still reading the same message. OMGosh .. so frustrated.. especially wtih the texting.

Revolve 810 G1 Keyboard skips characters when typing
Hi all, Just got a brand new HP Revolve 810 G1 tablet/laptop (12GB memory 256GB SDD). Things are otherwise smooth, but there is extremely annoying problem of keyboard dropping / skipping / losing some of the characters when typing. It appears randomly, not any specific keys or combos. Up till now in this post it has skipped about 10 characters. It doesn't require fast typing, even in the Win 8 start-menu, when searching for an app and then hitting enter to start the app, it might not react on the enter press. This is just an example, letters are missing from anywhere where I type. I type quite fast and know that I am hitting the correct keys. Disabling the touchpad does not help, so it is not that I would accidentally touching it during typing. I have updated BIOS, restored OS to factory state (HP Full Recovery), switching to English OS localization, installed all Windows Updates - no help. This makes working a pain, it's not feasible to chat or type document when you have to backspace all the time to fix the mistakes that you did not make. HP Support Assistant is not finding any more updates, product number is H5F12EA#AK8,WIn 8 Pro 64-bit. I have installed a 8GB SODIMM under the back cover, replacing the included 4GB chip. Will run a memtest overnight. Anybody seeing the same?? tonttuz

If you have adjusted the keyboard speed properties, updated the drivers, and done all the usual, thenIt could be keylogger malware - run a deep scan and make sure you are the only watching what you typeIt could be another program slowing down the system and interfering with your input - check the Task Manager and look for "hogs" -- programs that are running with a high cpu / network / disk consumption and stealing resources.It could be hardware - the system is new, but its construction may not be flawless -- Call HP=====================================================================================It could be that the drivers, though updated, are not being read from disk - instead they may be tangled in the memory and not being read properly. You might consider, without any grand hopes of success, applying a Forced Reset: Forced Reset flushes out the persistant boot-to-boot software and driver instructions from memory and forces the system to go back to the disk to read the software and drivers from the disk Operating System. Forced Power Reset Performing a Hard Reset or Forced Reset The Power Reset cannot tell the difference between drivers - it does not analyze a driver or software program before applying it. It assumes all the drivers and software on your computer belong there. This is a Driver Reset; this is NOT the Windows 8 Reset that installs the Operating System. This procedure does not wipe out your files nor does it destroy your Windows setup in any way. EXAMPLE:If the driver software on disk is incorrect or if the driver software is corrupt, it will still be incorrect or corrupted after the Reset.If the driver INSTRUCTIONS are tangled, messed up, or there are bits missing from those instructions, then the Reset may fix the problem. Why a Power Reset works to fix some issues: The Power Reset does not install anything on your computer, the Power / Hard Reset does not remove programs or personal data from your computer, and the Power Reset does not change the settings on your computer. Your data and programs remain as they were before the reset was applied. The Reset drains out the old program instructions from the memory and forces the computer go to the on disk Operating System to get new instructions. Why a Power Reset might Not Work:If the issue is more than just entanglement, if the "good instructions" on the computer are not good enough -- that is, you need an update, a new driver, or there is a problem that cannot be "untangled", then the Reset will not work.
