Hey!
Glad to hear that you and your family made it through relatively unscathed!  I think we all need to take better care of our wonderful planet, because I think we are upsetting Mother Nature!
I have the Windows Installer Clean-Up screen up and tried to upload a screen cap for you, but IE immediately shuts down every time I try.  So I'll have to transcribe the screen for you:
  I see the following:
(All Users)
(All Users) [1.2.0.10]
Those are the top two lines.  The following lines after that are programs he has installed on the machine like Acrobat, Adobe, Autodesk Inventor, and such and they all have a name and program number in brackets.
And I now again have the obligatory Apple programs installed and listed again:
(All Users) Apple Application Support [1.5.1]
(All Users) Apple Mobile Device Support [3.4.0.25]
(All Users) Apple Software Update [2.1.2.120]
(All Users) Bonjour [2.0.5.0]
Please note that iTunes is NOT LISTED.
Everything else 'appears' to be normal, I'd say.
Take care, and I'll see you on the flipside!  According to my clock, it's 4:11am Thursday morning there!
See ya!

  • ITunes will not open... i get an error message

    Hi.
I am having problems opening the iTunes music store. I have Windows XP. When i click on the desktop iTunes icon, i get this error message.
"iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
When actually, it was never opened.
I have downloaded iTunes in the past and it has worked fine. Is this because of the overload of iPods today on Christmas? Is the music store a universal thing? Could it just be overloaded? i have no clue. I'm new to this iPod thing
    any help would be appreciated!

iTunes will not open on my Windows 7 computer.  I've uninstalled it and reinstalled it, but it still won't open.  I'm trying to synch my iPad and iPhone, which I haven't done for awhile, but right now I'm having no luck.  I'm sure there is a switch I need to turn on or off, but have no idea where to find it.  Can someone help?

I updated my itunes this morning, and now I keep getting an error message when trying to burn a disc. Any ideas how to resolve this?

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

  • Installed 10.4 update and itunes will not open

Installed itunes10.4 32 bit version - after successful installation itunes will not open
    any advise?

Update to my last post.  I have finally "fixed" whatever problem was causing the Apple software products to malfunction on my PC, Windows Vista 32 Bit SP2.  After updating to iTunes 10.4 and Safari 5.1, a series of error messages would appear:1) AppleSyncNotifier.exe 2) iTuneshelper.exe 3) iTunes Failed to properly install - Error 7 (Windows error 126).  I had tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes & Safari as well as downdating iTunes to an earlier version, but this had all failed to correct the problem and the error messages still appeared when the programs were suppose to have been removed.
I ended up using the Windows Program Manager (in Control Panel) to remove every single Apple product from my PC, including the Apple Installer.  Then I restarted the system.  Taking bits and pieces of advice from this forum, I started the system, went to the Apple website, downloaded and SAVED the newest iTunes version (which includes QuickTime), but did not run the program.  Then I disconnected from the net, turned off all virus and firewall protections, and finally installed the saved iTunes program.  It took an extraordinarily long time to complete the install, but I was able to restore my libraries from my iPod Touch (4th gen) by performing a simple sync.  I reconnected to the net and updated the device software . . . so far, so good [knock on wood], no error messages yet.  I will add each of the removed programs as they are needed in the future so that whatever conflict exists can be fixed - until then, I'm at least happy to have iTunes back!  Hope this is helpful to someone and saves them the 4 hours it took me to get back on track

  • Itunes will not open b/c of Audio configuration error

Itunes will not open. Get error saying "Itunes cannot run because it has detected a problem with your audio configuration." Whats weird is that I haven't changed anything since I last used it (yesterday night). What should I do?
      Windows XP

I had the same problem and had just recently upgraded quicktime. When I followed the instructions on this thread I also made sure the version of Quicktime I installed matched my iTunes version. You might try that.
It did work for me. I'm wondering if the update to Quicktime caused my problem.

  • Help! I am making an iPhoto book and all of a sudden it will not open and I get a huge error message which is supposedly sent to Apple.  How do I access that site????

    Mac osX 10.6.8
    iBook - old version
can not access Safari - going through Chrome
All of a sudden my IBook would not open (100 pages and almost finished)
Error message sent to Apple - how do I access them??????
Thank you for any help you can give me
    <Email Edited by Host>

Do you mean, you have been creating a Photo Book in iPhoto? Or an iBook in iBook Author?
If you are asking about a photo book in iPhoto, what was the last you did in iPhoto, before the crash happened?  Did you add a page with a map?
Then you may have a problem with a bug, where adding a route to a map may render the book unreadable.  In that case the best option is to restore the iPhoto library from the last backup you made, before you added the map to the book.
It is not possible to open the book and to delete the unreadable page. You can only delete the book and start over, if this bug is the reason for the crashes. See for example this link:  Getting rid of problem photo book

  • ITunes 10.5.2 will not open on Windows 7. No error message. Reinstall did nothing.

I have been browsing the forums and looking to solutions but I have found nothing that fixed the issue. I reinstalled. I did the command prompt -> windows reset thingy. I tried modifying some kind of daemon.exe file. I don't exactly remember. In any case, whenever I try to open iTunes, my cpu usage goes up a bit but nothing else happens. QuickTime works fine however. I'm not sure what else to do. Should I just wait for a new version of iTunes to be released and hope for the best?
Any help would be greatly apprecaited.

Your Security, net-monitoring or video accelerator may be interferring.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset and are running any kind of net monitoring software like Bsecure, Net Nanny, AVG Family Safety, Safe Eyes, Covenant Eyes, Norton Online Security etc... I would suggest that you try uninstalling said software and reinstalling iTunes 10.5 to see if that corrects the issue.
Refer to article TS4123. Follow the step to identify which software in your system is the culprit and uninstall it.

    Last Modified: November 28, 2011
    Article: TS4123
    Symptoms
You may notice the following symptoms after installing iTunes 10.5 for Windows:
    iTunes is slow to respond
    Windows is slow to respond
iTunes stops responding when backing up or syncing with an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
Some processes installed by iTunes are using up a lot of resources in the Windows Task Manager.
iTunes Store looks empty and white as shown below:
    Products Affected
iTunes Store, iTunes 10 for Windows
    Resolution
Look for modifications to Windows by:
Running MSINFO32 by choosing either Start > Run, or using the search box to search for
Once it is open, expand Components and then expand Network.
Click Protocol. The first value should look like this:
However, if you find a value that is more like this, it indicates that there's an LSP (Layered Service Provider) monitoring your computer:
"<LSP Info>" is variable and may specifically mention a software suite, or appear to be a meaningless acronym
Scroll through the list on the right and look for any LSPs that have been installed by third-party software. By default, the Windows OS will have 10 values:
    MSAFD Tcpip [TCP/IP]
    MSAFD Tcpip [UDP/IP]
    RSVP UDP Service Provider
    RSVP TCP Service Provider
    MSAFD NetBIOS [\Device\NetBT_Tcpip...
The value above repeated 5 times with additional variables at the end
Note:811259.Once you've identified the third-party LSPs, determine which software placed them there. Here is a partial list of LSPs you might run into and the software that may have placed it there:
    Product or Manufacturer
    LSP Name
    Bigfoot Networks
    BfLLR over [MSAFD Tcpip [TCP/IPv6]]
    ByteMobile, Inc.
    BMI over [MSAFD Tcpip [TCP/IP]]
    Covenant Eyes
Covenant Eyes Monitoring over [MSAFD Tcpip [TCP/IP]]
    PC Tools / Spyware Doctor
    PCTOOLS over [MSAFD Tcpip [TCP/IP]]
    SafeEyes
Internet Content Filter over [MSAFD Tcpip [TCP/IP]]
    SpeedBit Video Accelerator
    SBLSP over [MSAFD Tcpip [TCP/IP]]
    VMWare
    VMCI sockets DGRAM
Once you've identified the third-party software that installed the LSP, you can remove that software. If the software is your security software, see iTunes: Troubleshooting security software issues for additional information.
    Note:locate vendor information
    Reset the WinSock key
If you are unable to identify the software that installed the LSP, you are unable to remove this software because it performs an important function for you, or you've removed this software and the issue persists, you may wish to reset the WinSock key.
To do so, please do the following in an administrator user:
    Windows Vista and Windows 7:
    Windows XP:Enter the following command:
    netsh winsock reset
Restart the computer and test the issue.
Note: If the issue returns, third-party software may be reinserting the LSP.

  • Itunes will not open or recognize my iPhone

Itunes will not load. I cannot sync to itunes, because it does not load

    From: "JimHess
Yes, but if it screws up the files so they can't be used in Lightroom,
just how useful is it really?
It only corrupts the files if you use an old version that doesn't know
anything about the nefs from more recent cameras. If you use the latest
version that has been updated for your camera, there is no problem. Some
people are apparently still using the original Nikon Transfer that is years
old. Transfer2 is now part of Nikon ViewNX2, which is updated for each
release of a new Nikon camera.

  • TS1717 Itunes will not open it says my computer is missing javaScriptcore.dll. I've downloaded java but I still get this message. How do I fix this probplem?

My Itunes app on my Windows 7 pc will not open. It gives me a message saying my computer is missing 'javaScriptcore.dll'. I've downloaded Java to the computer and restarted it but I'm still getting this message. How do I fix this problem?

Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7,now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "Apple Application Support" and then click "Repair". If you're using XP,head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "Apple Application Support", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post. (If you've got XP, although the procedure is for Vista and 7, just read "Computer" as "My Computer", read "Uninstall a program control panel" as "Add or Remove programs control panel" and assume the system is 32-bit, and you'll be doing the right things.)

  • My itunes will not open and it gives me no error code

Itunes will not load on my coputer i tried the trouble shootin but it still doesnt work

I had the same problem just after updating to iTunes 10.5.  I found the solution on another thread https://discussions.apple.com/message/15905544#15905544
The solution was to run as Administrator Programs>Accessories>Command Prompt
(to run as Administrator you right-click the option and choose run as admin)
Then type in the command netsh winsock reset
Then restart to complete, this worked for me.  Hope it helps you.
Thanks to birgitfromwittgenstein for the fix.
