Since your last update about 2 weeks ago, Firefox acts as an agressive site to block other IP addresses I want to go to. Even the Veterans administration.

This will mean I will remove firefox from my pc. other people also have the same problem.I need to have more control and let me override the standards and go to the webpage if I deem it acceptable.

As far as extensions, most of my extensions don't work with this current version of firefox... the ones that still do always played nice with google calendar and all my facebook games..
Seems there is just something between the new version of firefox and google calendar... I talked to 3 other friends that also have this problem. I tried on my moms computer as well as her laptop, and also can't get to my calendar. Yet, can with Chrome and IE. And I know that before this latest auto-update of firefox they all worked flawlessly with those pages..
I am trying to find an older version that I can use....I must learn NOT to update when everything works flawlessly as I need it...

Hi, my Macbook Pro has slowed down to a crawl on the internet since the airport security patch and OS update about 1 week ago. I am using Firefox 3.6.17 and have tried all versions up to date (but 3.6.17 is the best). Same issues with Safari too. I am using an Airport wireless modem also so should not be any issues with compliance. Local programs seem to run OK... but the internet is slow enough to grow a beard... Do they have a patch for this issue. It only started after the updates. Was blazing fast until that.

How large is your hard drive and how much hard drive space do you have left?
Disconnect all peripherals from your computer. Boot from your install disc & run Repair Disk from the utility menu. To use the Install Mac OS X disc, insert the disc, and restart your computer while holding down the C key as it starts up.
Select your language.
Once on the desktop, select Utility in the menu bar.
Select Disk Utility.
Select the disk or volume in the list of disks and volumes, and then click First Aid.
Click Repair Disk.
Restart your computer when done.

I can't stand peremptory affirmations like "Nothing is wrong with Safari".
Thousands of users can't be wrong (see the discussions).
If I read you the right way, it's never software' fault, it's the user who's the culprit.

In this very case, the fact is we can't give to "christinefromfonthill" a good solution because weren't sitting in front of her Mac.
You give her a good advice which could, perhaps, lead to an improvement.
But must also admit that Safari is a very slow browser compared to Firefox or Chrome.
And you can't ignore all the problems which arose when upgrading to Lion and were related to the new build and specs of Safari 5.1.
The best example is the apparition of "garbage type" (use of Last Resort font) when reading numerous sites. This never occured before and is the direct consequence of Safari compliance to Web Open Type. This standard prohibits the use of Type 1 Postscript Fonts and is the reason why so many people are in trouble.

I am a very "clean" user who hates the bells and whistles of third party.
My Mac is always up-to-date and despite all my Mac loving care, I run into some problems.
Imagine the nightmare which can occurs for the vulgum pecus who isn't, by definition, a power user aware of all the requirements for running a System in optimal conditions.
May be Safari is one step in advance on its time but lambda users are paying the price for it.

Please try resetting your tools from Tool options.
Open Tool options in PSE status bar. Click on flyout menu and click on Reset All Tools.

To set up iCloud, open System Preferences > iCloud, and follow its steps to use iCloud

Oh no! Lets ensure that you are connected. Have you tried to reset the Network Extender? Are other devices able to connect to the Extender? Is your Internet service up and running?

Why can't I install Adobe Flash player? Everything was fine until your latest version about 2 weeks ago. I'm missing out on a lot of stuff. Thanks for your help.

Ever since I upgraded firefox about 2 weeks ago I no longer have Adobe Flash so a lot of my e-mails won't even open up. I can't get anything from YouTube. When I try to install Adobe Flash Player I get a message that says since I have Mozilla I can't get it. Is there a work around?

You have Shockwave Flash 7.0 r19 installed for Firefox, in addition to Shockwave Flash 10.2 r153. You need to get rid of that old version which is overriding Firefox from using the later version.
See if you can remove that old version from the Control Panel > Add /Remove Programs. If it isn't listed there, remove the NPSWF32.dll file for that version from the \Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins\ folder - (right-click that file and open Properties and then view the Version tab to verify it is that old version of Flash, if you have more than one of those files in that folder.)

Firefox 8, since update about a week ago, will no longer show some pages

My google calendar page is totally blank. When I got to the site: http://calendar.google.com it looks like stuff is loading (info bar showing url's) and then very quickly I see a blank white page of nothingness. I use this calendar for my business and if I can't see upcoming jobs or schedule clients, then firefox becomes useless to me at work.
On facebook, since that same update last week, several games do not load properly. Lucky Train just hangs at the main screen. And Lucky Space, while it loads and plays fine, will not load the Messages page. and constantly shows '0' (zero) for the number of messages (should show nothing if no messages and shows correct number using IE (ICK) or Chrome)

I design all my websites specifically to work 100% with Firefox, and if problems like this occur, I would be forced to use another browser as my target...and I really do NOT want to do that.. I have been the reason well over 1000 people now use Firefox and NOT other browsers...I am one of your biggest fans....and supporters..but this (seemingly) simple thing (yeah, I was a programmer for years...simple = damned near impossible and 1000's of lines of code...lol) is really hurting me for work...

I can't remove forecast fox, my computer works like molasses worse since your last update. HELP!!!

Help, I can't remove that weather thing. It is so annoying that you provide downloads to things that cannot be removed. I really can't stand Firefox anymore because my computer is so slow now I might as well be using one from 1989. I am so frustrated. I called Microsoft a couple of weeks ago to help with slowness and they connected remotely and cleaned up a bunch of stuff for me. But my computer is still so slow and seems like it is always trying to load something and I can't do anything online. Sometimes I just have to close Firefox using task manager and reboot. I started Firefox in your safe mode the other day and it worked faster. I thought if I remove the weather crap it might work better but there is no way I can find to remove it. Thats craziness! Are you able to provide more details about the "weather crap" what is the proper name of the software and the site it uses please? If I assume it is not out and out malware then it may be; either an add-on, listed when you use:
* Firefox button -> Add-ons -> plug-ins
* or an extension:
** that would often be listed under Firefox Button -> Add-ons -> extensions
** in this case it probably is not listed, so look from your Windows XP OS
*** use Start -> Control Panel -> Add or remove programs <br/> are you able to identify the program in that listing, if so will it remove ?

Have not benn able to open windows 7 email since your last update.

Since the last update to Firefox I can no longer open my email. When I sign on and Xfinity page opens it says, ah oh, you are not signed in, I sign in and it takes me back to Comcast/ Xfinity home. Then when I click on email it takes me back to the Xfinity sign in box. It keeps repeating this over loop over and over again. I have Windows 7 Home Premium.

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

Firefox 30 constantly crashes, since update about 2 weeks ago.

Firefox kept crashing so constantly that, I couldn't even open the Crash reports without having them crash Firefox or change the state to not responding.

For now, I have installed Firefox in a new location with a new profile, and it seems to work for now.
Would like to know, what causes these crashes so they can be fixed.

The most recent crash is reported as a different browser (Firefox 3.0.11) so I'm going to ignore that one.
The next two are Firefox 30 crashes that have the same signature, reported over 65,000 times in the past week.
When I review user comments in these crashes, the most common activity mentioned is interacting with a Norton add-on. Usually Norton is good about updating, but you may need to use LiveUpdate to get the latest version.
When I review the bugs linked to your reports, they generally reference graphics issues, perhaps an out-of-memory error relating to your graphics card driver. Currently it appears that you have disabled hardware acceleration, which is the standard workaround for graphics-related crashes, so I don't think there is an action item from these reports, or a clear explanation of the problem.

I have a Samsung Continum. Samsung sent an update about a week ago, and this phone has been reduced to "turtle speed".

Has anyone had issues since the update came out?
My husband and I both have this phone.
Typing on the keyboard to send messages is delayed, viewing photos- the phone locks up.
I went to our local Verizon Store where the clerk removed the battery to "reset" the phone.
It did absolutely nothing!

The Continuum is a great Galaxy S phone that has a dual display and wonderful screen resolution! I love how the ticker on the second screen provides real world updates on the key information like weather and text messages! There a few elements that could be causing the slow response from the device. Can I assume that the two devices that you are inquiring about does not have any physical or liquid damage? Also, what is the exact software version that you and your husband have on your Continuum(s)? Below are a few troubleshooting steps that you can try on your devices to get this issue resolved.
Verify that the you have a Verizon Wireless approved software version.
Remove any unused apps or widget from the device.
Delete long threaded text messages from the text message inbox.
Transfer and save all pictures, videos, and music onto a memory card.
Perform a factory reset on the device. (See link below)

Does that help? You also might want to check your scaling setting under File > Page Setup (if the old menu bar is not displayed, press F10 to call it up).

You can't install 9.2.1 or earlier on any Mac that is only Mac OS X bootable. In fact you need to use the restore disks which came with those Macs to install 9.2.2 on those Macs. 8.6 is only possible to install on Macs which came with 8.6 or earlier. The 9.1 disk may be useful for your 1999 PowerMac G4, but won't be of any use for a 2006 Powerbook G4.
