Single hyperlink in a woksheet

We have a number of reports where year is one of the parameters. We also have support documents (html files) that differ for various years.
Today we have solved this with a separate sheet where year is given as parameter and the result has just one record with the link to the document.
Is it in any way possible to make a single hyperlink item on a "normal" sheet that already has the year as a parameter?
We only use Viewer, not Plus.
I tried to put <a href="www.oracle.com">oracle</a> in the header but that just got printed as is.
Kind regards
Tomas Albinsson

I agree with Rod about grouping by the item as it's a great way to show what you're asking for.
If you have 5 rows being displayed with an html link in an item for a particular year, then if the year item was moved to the page -> items level, and then the html link item was moved to the right of that page -> items level, then you'd have the year displayed once and then the link displayed once after it.
In fact, if you set it up for multiple years as Rod suggests, then you wouldn't have to limit your query to the 1 year if you didn't want - and it wouldn't get overloaded visually, as the year would be a pull down on the page -> item level, and as the html link item on the group -> item level as related to year, there would only be one value there as well for each year.

    know.....................
    Thank's
    Roziao

    Hi RoboWizard,
I understand (I think!!!) about how to create a frameset
using the method you detailed. Say I create a frameset with 2
frames: 'TOC' frame on the left and 'Details' frame on the right.
When I create the frameset I specify the default 'TOC' topic as
tralala.htm, which is a basic list of contents. I don't know the
full list of contents to display until the user clicks on a link to
display a topic in the 'Details' frame. I specify the default
'Details' topic as Welcome.htm, which is an introductory topic.
Say my initial Blurb.htm topic (as described in my previous
    post) contains two links:
How to make a cup of tea
    How to perform a headstand
If I click on 'How to make a cup of tea' I would like to
display my Outline.htm topic in the 'Details' frame giving an intro
about tea and the art or making it, and a task list Contents.htm in
the 'TOC' frame detailing each step in making a cup of tea. When I
click on a link in Contents.htm, it updates to the relevant topic
    in the 'Details' frame.
If I click on 'How to perform a headstand' I would like to
display Outline2,htm topic in the 'Details' frame giving an intro
about balancing and seeing life upside down, and a task list
Contents2.htm in the 'TOC' frame detailing each step in performing
a headstand. When I click on a link in Contents2.htm, it updates to
the relevant topic in the 'Details' frame.
    However, what actually happens is:
I click on 'How to make a cup of tea'. Outline.htm topic
displays in the 'Details' frame, and the tralala.htm is still
displayed in the 'TOC' frame. To display Contents.htm in the 'TOC'
frame, I would have click on a separate link.
Same problem when I click on 'How to perform a headstand'.
I hope this example explains my problem a little better. Do
    you understand?
I'm sure there is something blatently obvious that will
overcome the problem. I've only recently discovered frames, so my
knowledge is not the greatest on this subject and hope there is an
easy answer to solve my issue. I'm hoping for a 'Doh!' moment!
    Many thanks for your help.

  • How to handle multiple reports with single hyperlink parameter

Please suggest in my drill down report
i have two reports linked with one hyperlink
    parameter, how to handle this?
please suggest for popup window with sample solution.
    for example
    report A--->B--->Chosse Report c or D
based on parameter hyperlink at report B.
    Thanks in advance
    Raj

    Yes U R correct, that
I'm using srw.set_hyperlink in plsql format trigger
to open other reports , now the problem is
how to carry over the hyperlink parameter to popup window
and allow user to choose any reports based on the
    parameter value.
    for example
report A (Sales person summmary report)
    |
    | (choose sales person drilled to orders report B)
    |
B (report has the hyperlink on order no)
    |
    |
C,D,E (many reports based on order no
    customer,order details,pending items
    to be shipped)
Now how to handle the situation from b to c,d,e
I suggest use hyperlink at B to open popup to show
reports C,D,E with the order no has parameter.
please suggest for javascript to open popup window
    for reports c,d,e.
    Thanks

  • Concatenate Repeat Reagion values into Single Hyperlink

I have an ASP page that shows a list of people with their
email addresses as hyperlinks. What I want to do is create a link
below the results for "Email all of these people" that would open
an email with everyone's email address in the To: box separated by
commas; so the user doesn't have to click each link and send a
separate email to each person individually. How would I do that?
    Thanks. Rob

Simply build a string like this
    above the repeat region
    <%
    Dim EmailList = ""
    %>
    Then inside the repeat region
    <%
    EmailList = EmailList & ";" &
    recordset.field.item("emailaddress").value
    %>
Then outside of the repeat region
    <%=EmailList%>
    will return it.

  • Hyperlinks in QT for IWeb

Apologies for cross-posting to the IWeb forum.
I created an animated text page in Keynotes to match a page in my website, and added a single hyperlink below the animation to enter the site. All play fine in Keynote. I then exported a QT movie using Manual Advance settings. Opening the movie in QT directly from the Finder works correctly: the hyperlink opens the desired webpage. However when I import this Keynote QT movie into IWeb, the hyperlinked text is not longer text, but part of the image in the QT movie. It can't be clicked on as a link nor is there the ability (it seems) to change this in IWeb.
FYI - The alternative of adding the link in IWeb in FRONT of the imported QT movie does not work. The hyperlink works with the QT movie correctly in IWeb, but when published, the link itself is transparent within each of the browsers (Safari, Firefox, IE).
    Suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Did a re-export for giggles. Don't know what changed (nothing), but for some reason it's now all working fine. The hyperlink in the AT animation works as it's supposed to.
    Many thanks

  • Hyperlinks for ePub

    Hi Adobe forum,
I have a very long document with thousands of hyperlinks and email address. Almost all of which don't start with http://. When I convert them automatically, it doesn't add the http:// and I have to do it manually which is very time consuming. When I export the document to ePub I get errors for every single hyperlink. Does someone have a good fix for this?
    Thanks,
    Tara

If my memory serves me right, the InDesign’s “Convert URLs to hyperlinks” feature creates “shared” hyperlinks. That’s why they don’t work after exporting to ePub. I wrote a number of scripts for this task. Last year I was working on a big project on “converting” old printed books to ePub & HTML format.
Here is a script that may come in handy to you. Check out also the hyperlink section on this page.

  • Hyperlinks in SAP

    Hi experts,
I have stored a URL in two string variable as it is greater than 255 characters. I want the data in these 2 strings as one single hyperlink.
    Thanks in Advance

A string variable holds 255 characters only. Also i need to know how do I convert it into a hyperlink.
No, you are not correct.  A STRING is nearly unlimited, restricted by the 4 byte integer restriction OR by memory size using a system profile setting.  Read the help files before you make a statement like that.  Where is the hyperlink being displayed?  Dialog screen, ABAP list, E-mail?

  • Hyperlink to 2 or more documents?

  • DocFlex/Javadoc 1.5.6, a multi-format doclet development tool and more

DocFlex/Javadoc is both a multi-format Javadoc Doclet and a rapid doclet development tool, which allows easy creation of professional quality Java API documentation generated by Javadoc in various output formats.
    More in this article:
    Key Features
    Availability
    This Version
    What is DocFlex?
    Main Concepts
    Other Applications
    Links
    KEY FEATURES
    Template-driven doclet architecture
    - Actual doclets are created in the form of special templates interpreted by the DocFlex Doclet, which is the template interpreter / output generator wrapped in the form of a Javadoc Doclet.
    - The high quality graphic Template Designer allows you to visually design most of things, whose development was possible so far only by direct Java coding.
    - The templates are designed independently on a particular output format. All formatting is specified in some universal way using properties of template components. During the generation, it is rendered with the suitable features available in the selected output format.
    - The elaborated support of template parameters (including multivalued list parameters). The parameters are defined and accessed within templates to adjust dynamic properties of template components. Most of options previously used to control an ordinary doclet now simply become template parameters!
    - The possibility to call templates from one another. This feature (along with the template parameters) makes possible re-using the same templates for different tasks as well as organizing template libraries.
    Data processing
    - The entire Doclet API is represented in the form of a virtual XML document (called Doclet DSM), on which the designing and processing of all templates is based.
    - Sophisticated capabilities for data querying and sorting based on an extension of XPath.
    - Full support of new Java 5.0 language features: Generic Types, Enums, Annotations.
    - Simultaneous support of Java 1.4 and Java 5.
    Creating hyperlinks
    - Generation of an extensive network of hyperlinks interconnecting the whole documentation.
    - The hyperlinks can be generated in all output formats that support them (this currently includes HTML and RTF).
    - The universal way of defining documentation cross-links based on the link/target keys specified in templates.
    - In RTF, the cross-links can be generated in the form of page number references, which effectively makes them usable even in the printed documentation.
    - In HTML, the possibility of loading several frame windows from a single hyperlink at once.
Universal support of various formatting techniques
    - text formatting: fonts, colors, borders
    - paragraph formatting: margins, pagination control, borders, colors
    - border formatting: styles (solid, double, dashed, dotted), thickness, colors
    - tables: arbitrary cell layouts, borders, nested tables
    - lists: bulleted, numbered, delimited
    - document fields (RTF): page number, number of pages, TOC, etc.
    - page formatting: size, orientation, margins, headers/footers
    - formatting styles
    - rendering of embedded HTML, which means interpreting in non-HTML output formats (such as RTF) the HTML tags embedded in text data (e.g. documentation comments). Almost all HTML tags practically usable in doc-comments are supported.
    Inserting images
    - statically specified in templates
    - dynamically, obtained by <img> tags found in Java comments
    - supported image formats: GIF, PNG, JPG, WMF, EMF, BMP
    Output formats
    - HTML (both framed multi-file and single-file output)
    - RTF (version 1.6 - supported since Word 2000).
    - TXT (plain text), which may be particularly useful for various utilizations of the Java code information provided by the Doclet API generate XML files by it, or SQL files to import into a database).
    Standard Template Set
    - The ready-to-use Standard Template Set included in all editions of DocFlex/Javadoc allows you to immediately generate:
(*) The framed HTML Java API documentation similar to that generated by the standard Javadoc.
(*) The same documentation packed in a single HTML file.
(*) The unmatched quality RTF JavaDoc.
    - Special features supported by standard templates:
(*) Excluding classes/methods/fields by custom tags and annotations.
(*) Selective omitting of package qualifiers.
(*) Selective documenting of custom tags (similar to -tag option of Standard Doclet).
    - By modifying the standard templates, you can quickly customize the generated documentation according to your needs.
    Doclet GUI
    - Besides command line options, DocFlex Doclet supports an alternative user-friendly way to control the template-based doclets interactively -- the high quality Doclet GUI.
    - The Doclet GUI starts with the Generator Dialog, where you can specify all general settings (such as the main template, the output format and the output directory), start the generation, track its progress and stop at any moment you need.
    - The grid-tree-based Parameter Inspector invoked from the Generator Dialog for a selected template allows you to view the descriptions of all template parameters controlling the doclet and set their values according to the parameter data types.
    - The generator options specific for the selected output format can be set in the corresponding Format Option Inspector (also invoked from the Generator Dialog).
    - Once the generation is finished (or cancelled), you can start it again with different settings or a new main template without restarting the whole Javadoc.
    Integrations
    - With any system that runs Javadoc (in particular, see below)
    - Apache Ant
    - Apache Maven 2
    - Eclipse
For lots more information, see DocFlex/Javadoc homepage: [http://www.filigris.com/products/docflex_javadoc/]
    AVAILABILITY
    DocFlex/Javadoc comes in two editions:
    (1) The full edition called "DocFlex/Javadoc" as it is. This is commercial software, which includes all the implemented functionality.
    (2) The reduced freeware edition called "DocFlex/Doclet". It includes only the output generator and can be used as an interpretor of any custom templates. It also includes the standard template set, which allows you to instantly use it as an HTML doclet (similar to the standard one, however with some special features) plus an excellent quality RTF doclet.
Both editions are available for downloads on the page: [http://www.filigris.com/downloads/]
    THIS VERSION
    New features:
    - The template interpretor works 15-20% faster
    - Improvement of RTF output
    - Multi-valued (list) template parameters
    - Custom elements
    - Standard Templates: Selective documenting of custom tags (similar to -tag option of standard doclet)

    WHAT IS DOCFLEX?
DocFlex is an innovative technology for development of high quality template-driven documentation/report generators by any kind of data obtained from various software applications via the Java APIs they provide.
    MAIN CONCEPTS
The whole DocFlex technology is based on four generalizations:
    (1) The mapping of an entire Java API onto a virtual XML-like representation made of some elements and attributes so as to process any such a representation in a universal way using techniques borrowed from the field of XML, like XPath (or more precisely, a conceptual analogue of XPath with some extensions not present in it).
    (2) The abstract formatting concept based on four layouts (flow of text, flow of paragraphs or paragraph-like objects, tables and lists), which can be rendered in most modern document formats (e.g. HTML, RTF, XSL-FO etc.)
    (3) The automatic generation of hyperlinks (or their page number reference equivalents) by matching the sets of keys produced from certain natural properties of the things (entities) being documented and hyper-linked.
    (4) The representation of the object controlling structure of the output generator (made on the first three principles) in the form of a plain-text template with a possibility to create and edit such templates using a graphic Template Designer, which visualizes the controlling objects (now becoming template components) in a form resembling the output they will produce.
    OTHER APPLICATIONS
In fact, DocFlex/Javadoc is not the only application of DocFlex technology. The following is a summary of other DocFlex software:
    DocFlex/XML
The SDK and runtime environment for rapid development and execution of template-driven automatic documentation/report generators by any data obtained from XML files.
This is currently the most complex and advanced application of DocFlex technology. Actually, this tool can be considered a powerful alternative to XSLT. At least, it is definitely able to do what XSLT apparently not (for example, see “XSDDoc” below). We will publish a more detailed comparison “DocFlex/XML versus XSLT” with the next DocFlex/XML release, which is coming very soon.
    DocFlex/XML home page: [http://www.filigris.com/products/docflex_xml/]
    DocFlex/XML | XSDDoc
A template set for DocFlex/XML that implements a high quality W3C XML Schema documentation generator in HTML and RTF output formats.
For more details, please see: [http://www.filigris.com/products/docflex_xml/xsddoc/]
    DocFlex/XML | WSDLDoc
A similar template set for DocFlex/XML that will implement a high-end WSDL documentation generator.
This product is not released yet.
    DocFlex/Together
A template-driven documentation generator for [Borland Together|http://www.borland.com/us/products/together/] (which is a UML modeling tool).
This is the earliest application of DocFlex technology and probably the most beautiful one. It works only with Together Architect 1.x, which is now obsolete. Unfortunately, since Together 2005, Borland eliminated any open APIs (for unknown reasons). Because of this, further development of DocFlex/Together was impossible.
    DocFlex/Together home page: [http://www.filigris.com/products/docflex_together/]
See also examples of the UML documentation generated with it: [http://www.filigris.com/products/docflex_together/examples/]
The future DocFlex/UML is going to generate something like this as well.
    DocFlex/UML
A template-driven UML documentation generator based on [Eclipse EMF|http://www.eclipse.org/emf/]. This tool is in early development stage yet. In a sense, it will continue DocFlex/Together with the focus on integration with other UML tools that use Eclipse EMF.

Now, DocFlex/Javadoc v1.4 has been released specifically dedicated to Linux (Mac OS X) support:
(*) Some early bugs have been fixed, which prevented it working properly under Linux.
(*) A special RTF option was introduced to generate OpenOffice.org friendly RTF (see below)
(*) Improved support for external document viewers.
(*) Now, DocFlex/Javadoc software includes the shell script files prepared to quickly install and launch it under Linux
    New RTF option
A new RTF output option "Tune output for MS Word has been introduced. This option, actually, allows switching off that very tuning (which until now was the default mode) to produce an RTF friendly to open with other non MS Word applications, e.g. OpenOffice.org Writer under Linux.

  • Best practices for making the end result web help printable

Hi all, using TCS3 Win 7 64 bit.  All patched and up to date.
I was wondering what the best practices are for the following scenario:
I am authoring in Frame, link by reference into RH.
I use Frame to generate PDFs and RH to generate webhelp.
I have tons of conditional text which ultimately produce four separate versions of PDFs as well as online help - I handle these codes in FM and pull them into RH.
I use a css on all pages of my RH to make it 'look' right.
We now need to add the ability for end users to print the webhelp - outside of just CTRL+P because a)that cuts off the larger images and b)it doesn't show header, footer, logo, date, etc. (stuff that is in the master pages in FM).
My thought is doing the following:
Adding four sentences (one for each condition) in the FM book on the first page. Each one would be coded for audience A, B, C, or D (each of which require separate PDFs) as well as coded with ONLINE so that they don't show up in my printed PDFs that I generate out of Frame. Once the PDFs are generated, I would add a hyperlink in RH (manually) to each sentence and link the associated PDF (this seems to add the PDF file to the baggage files in RH). Then when I generate my RH webhelp, it would show the link, with the PDF, correctly based on the condition of the user looking at the help.
    My questions are as follows:
1- This seems more complicated than it needs to be. Is it?
2- I would have to manually update every single hyperlink each time I update my FM book, because I am single sourcing out of Frame and I am unable (as far as I can tell) to link a PDF within the frame doc. I update the entire book (over 1500 pages) once every 6 weeks so while this wouldn't be a common occurrence it will happen regularly, and it would be manual (as far as I can tell)?
3- Eventually, I would have countless PDFs inside RH. I assume this will eventually impact performance. So this also doesn't seem ideal?
If anyone has thoughts/suggestions on a simpler way or better way to do this, I'd certainly appreciate it. I have watched the Adobe TV tutorial on adding a master page but that seems to remove the ability to use a css across all my topics and it also requires the manual addition of a manual hyperlink to the PDF file, so that is what I am proposing above, anyway (not sure the benefit, therefore).
    Thanks in advance,
    Adriana

Anything other than CTRL + P is going to create a lot of work so perhaps I can comment on what you see as drawbacks to that.
a)that cuts off the larger images and b)it doesn't show header, footer,
logo, date, etc. (stuff that is in the master pages in FM).
    Larger images.
I simply make a point of keeping my image sizes down to a size that works. It's not a problem for me but that doesn't mean it will work for you. Here all I am doing is suggesting you review how big a problem that would be.
    Master Page Details
I have to preface this with the statement that I don't work with FM. The details you refer to print when they are in RoboHelp master pages. Perhaps one of the FM users here can comment on how to get FM master pages to come through.

  • Identifying user selection of drill filter

    Hie Guys,
I am creating a report that contains a single hyperlink to different reports based on the user selection of the drill filters. I need to be able to identify what drill filter the user selected in the form of a formula so that I can direct the user to the appropriate report when they click on the hyperlink.
    For e.g.
If user selects drill filter for month, take them  to report 1
If user selects drill filter for department, take them to report 2.
If user selects drill filter for Unit, take them to report 3..
    Thanks.

    Hi Jeewan
First you need to know if a filter selection was made ,
    DrillNumMonth=Count([Month - Key])
Second Obtain the value of selection
    DrillMonth=ReportFilter([Month - Key])
    Third Evaluate
    =If(([DrillNumMonth]=1; Link_Month ; If([DrillNumDim2=2; Link_Dimension2 .....
    I hope this help you

  • Presenter 7 and Streaming FLV?

Is it possible to stream my flv's from my FMS server into
    Presenter 7?
The files are large if I have to upload the course with the
videos as the Courses are mostly Video Trainings. Remote users are
struggling to view the slides as the loading is delyed. Streaming
    will rectify this.
If not then I will have to ditch Presenter and use clanky
Captivate, as it at least can link via rtmp.

Per original question/answer regarding animation triggers. I was trying to create pop-ups in a PPT file published using Adobe Publisher 7.0.5. No go.
So it was suggested that I try hypertext links. The only way this works for me is to link to a page within the document, even though other "link to" options exist (Existing File or Web Page, Place in this Document, Create New Document and Email Addresses). I have tried to create existing files, web pages, pdfs (both plain old and published) in the same directory, in another directory. Still the only option that works is to a link within the same PPT file. That is fine for a single hyperlink and another link from that page going back to the origination page. But I wanted to create a link to the glossary that returns to WHERE EVER you came from. The "previous page" return link only takes you back to the page before the glossary, not like the "back" button on the web that takes you back to wherever your previous page was. Any suggestions? The only alternative I can think of is individual hard coded hyperlinks back to EACH page in the lesson, this would be pretty ugly visually though.

  • Presenter 7 and Web Objects

    Hey folks,
Does anyone have a sense as to whether the new version of
presenter will support web objects (similar to the current version
of Articulate Presenter?). It sure would be nice to be able to have
live web (instead of just a link) in a slide for my students.
    Peace,

    Hi,
I think you can use place holders to put these three values seperatly and set an action property on the placeholder. Is the values in the hyperlink are static or dynamic ?

  • Hyperlinking to next page for export to single files

    Hello
I've tried everything I can think of but nothing works, except using an ugly http://myaddress/<<bates number>> in the footer of my document.
I have a 300 page document I want to upload to my web site, but I want it to be split into single page files.  Ideally, I'd like to be able to click anywhere on the document to go to the next page, but can't seem to find a way to do it.
I did successfully create a link in the footer using a crude http://myaddress/ and bates numbering .pdf  - but it looks hideously ugly and isn't user friendly.  If I could retain the hyperlink properties of that text, and change it to say Next page instead, then I'd be a happy bunny, but the moment I delete the http:// hyperlink text, the text stops behaving like a link.
Can this be achieved without manually adding individual links on all 300 seperate pages??
    I'm using version X10 PRO.
    Many thanks,
    ducknet.
