SJSE 8 doesn't start due to NullPointerException

Hi guys,
I installed SJSE 8 for free (for free headhache I guess) and I can�t start the application. I got a NullPointerException after splash screen. The CPU stays full loaded and error log grows fast to 30, 40 MB!!!
Someone can help me, please!?

Here are a couple of things you can try. Assuming that the installer downloaded file and the install itself did not have any issues (i.e no pack files in the system etc), the error message seems to indicate that the uml module is not finding some classes it needs to load.
1. Try starting the ide without the uml module.
Rename ide/uml1 directory to ide/uml1.backup and start the ide.
Of course, uml is one of the major features of jse; but by doing the above you may be able to narrow down the problem.
2. There may be some other dom4j library in the system classpath of a different version. You can try opening a command window, setting the CLASSPATH explicitly to an empty value for that session and then run 'runide.exe' from this window.

Airport for Windows doesn't start due to missing dnssd.dll?

I've just installed AirPort for Windows v5.4.2 on my Windows XP SP3 laptop, yet it doesn't start due to a supposedly missing dnssd.dll file.
The error message states: "This application has failed to start because dnssd.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem" .
Re-installing does not fix this. Any ideas?

That's interesting. It's actually a BonJour dll, and it lives at:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\dnssd.dll
I can replicate your error message by dragging the dll out of system32 and on to the desktop prior to trying to launch the Airport utility.
If it has gone walkabout for you in a similar fashion, here's a way of getting it back.
Restart the PC. Now head into your Add or Remove Programs Control Panel. Select BonJour, click "Change" and then click "Repair".
Does the repair install of BonJour go through properly? If so, can you open the Airport utility without the error message?

Itunes 7.0.1 doesn't start due to Quicktime

I just upgraded to version 7.0.1 but itunes doesn't start stating this error:
"Quicktime version 7.0d0 ins installed, Itunes requires Quicktime version 7.1.3 or later."
I tried opening quicktime but it created a runtime error.
Please help

Oh it works now - All I had to do was open quicktime separately for it to configure itself. iTunes opens fine now.

After Effects doesn't start due an unexpected Error.

I downloaded & installed After Effects through the Creative Cloud client in my macbook pro 15" (Retina), but the program doesn't start. There's always the same error message (sorry, it's German): "After Effects kann nicht fortgesetzt werden: Unerwarteter Fehler beim Starten der Anwendung", which means something like there's an unexpected error while starting. I deinstalled it, downloaded it again, always the same - its that a known problem and how can I solve this?

Kein Plan. Unerwartete Fehler sind eben genau das - unerwartet. Was sagt das Crash Log zu dem Thema (auf Report klicken, wen ndie entsprechende Warnung kommt) oder rausfischen: Working with your Operating System’s Tools?

Windows 8.1 app doesn't start due to Error 0x80073cfc - package is in state: Modified

Ive created an app with winjs and am deploying it onto domain joined windows 8 Pro devices, without the use of a sideloading key (sideloading enhancements).
The SAME package does work on other devices but the current device is behaving differently.
Device preperation:
1. The device has a windows 8.1 pro OS and is fully updated.
2. The group policy Allow all trusted apps to install has been enabled.
3. The certificate has been installed into the devices thrusted root certificate store.
To create my package, i right clicked my application project and selected Store => Create App Package. Then i selected No on the store question and next => create.
I Installed the dependencies Microsoft.WinJS.1.0 and Microsoft.VCLibs.x86.11.00 as it is a x86 package.
The created package i installed using the powershell add-apppackage command.
The error i am seeing in the windows event log (translated from dutch):
The activation of the app <some guid> App for the WindowsLaunch-contract has been blocked with Error 0x80073CFC because the package is in a Modified state.
Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Dreamweaver CS5 doesn't start, cannot find configuration file

Dreamweaver Could not locate the Resource file in the Configuration folder. This file is required to run Dreamweaver. Please reinstall the application.
Dreamweaver CS5 doesn't start due to the error message above.
Found the configuration folder but on my roaming profile on the server, not on C drive.
Note that I installed Dreamweaver on the second partition of the hard disk, not on C drive due to lack of space. Other Adobe CS5 software are running well such as Photoshop and InDesign.
I have tried to delete (after backup) the Configuration folder, as I read on this forum that it should be automatically recreated, but no success. Tried to copy the Configuration folder (in fact the entire Adobe folder) to the user profile on C drive, but no success.
On this PC, no previous version of Dreamweaver has been installed. However, I have used older versions on different computers, and there are in the Adobe folder on my roaming profile traces of CS4 and CS6.
Could you please advise?

[SOLVED DUE TO MAJOR STUPIDITY]X doesn't start

I did a pacman -Syu to upgrade the xf86-video-intel,xorg-server,xf86-input-synaptics,libgl,mesa,intel-dri.
Previously I had self compiled xorg-server 1.6 RC running.
After update (I didn't update anything else, had newer kernel already running)
xorg doesn't start (black screen)
/var/log/Xorg.0.log is old.
I removed /var/log/Xorg.* and restarted X
Went to check Xorg.0.log... and there is no such file. Xorg doesn't produce log file.
I'm puzzled. I have Intel x3100 (GL 965)

For some reason I had removed xorg-server and xf86-video-intel (and apparently the later doesn't require xorg-server) so I ended up without xorg, hence no log...
xorg-server dependence to some packages should be added, I think to avoid people like me doing VERY stupid things...

My table S_NQ_ACCT stays empty.

Can you post your entire NQSConfig.INI file?
According to the message guide (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12103_01/books/AnyMsg/AnyMsg_Messages.html#wp1007961) the error you're getting specifies the table that OBIEE is trying to use, so the fact that yours reports literally "<Database>"."<Catalog>"."<Schema>"."<Table>" makes me think maybe the wrong config is being picked up. Also your comment that using a file instead of DB doesn't work either.

Photoshop Elements 5.0 doesn't start after reinstallation

On my Windows 7 system was PE 5.0 up and running. Due to a system error I needed to Recover the system and afterwards réinstall all programs, including PE 5.0. Th installtion went correct, but the prgram doesn't start I've removed all temp internet files, but that doesn't help. What do?

I didn't have the PSE 5,02 patch installed. But when I did, I received the following error message:

I re-installed PSE 5.0 again (tyherefore I needed to delete my Temp internet files, before I coulkd install it). The installation seemed to be right, but I still can not strat the program (no error message) and I can't install the patch (same message)

Bea Workshop JSF Tutorial - deployed app doesn't start on Tomcat 5.0

I've followed the BEA tutorial up to section 5 - Running the application.
When the application is deployed from a WAR to Tomcat the application doesn't start in Tomcat 5.0
The error message from the Tomcat console is :

Thanks for your reply. I was creating a WAR file using the Export>J2EE>WAR option.
I've since found out you shouldn't do this for Tomcat from Bea Workshop.
So now I am running the application in exploded mode as you suggested
(ie. 'Run modules directly from the workspace' is checked)
When I run pages/register.jsp - two things happen :
1-the browser that opens WITHIN Bea Workshop has an exception :
javax.servlet.ServletException: No faces context?!
(I believe this is because web.xml has *.jsf as the url pattern that maps to the faces servlet, so register.jsp doesn't invoke the faces servlet. But the tutorial hasn't said anything about amending the web.xml servlet mapping.)
2-a separate browser opens OUTSIDE of BEA workshop and the url is "http://localhost:8080/"
I don't understand what's happening here.
The tutorial should be very reliable, not throw up errors.
If you or anyone else can throw any light on this I'd be grateful.

If there is no loading bar, it's usually a problem with a third party kext file in OS X itself.
You can press the power button down to force a hardware shutdown, then reboot holding the shift key down on a wired or built in keyboard, this will disable them and you go around and update your third party software.
Gray, Blue or White screen at boot, w/spinner/progress bar
Also take this time to backup your users files off the machine if possible.

Chromium doesn't start and suspend, shutdown don't work occassionally

I have this problem on my laptop but since chromium doesn't start on my desktop either, I don't think it's specific to laptops.
When I try to start chromium in a terminal, I get a blank window (I can tell because I use spectrwm):

I temporarily resorted to using Firefox instead, but at times it just freezes up while opening some pages. After that point, even killing firefox doesn't help: the system load level keeps on rising. I used pidof to check if firefox is still running, but I had no output from pidof. After having firefox to freeze, shutdown, suspend, etc don't work. The laptop goes to a black screen state, but the power LED remains on indefinitely.
These might be two separate issues, but they started together on my laptop.

It started happening after upgrade:

I was wondering if it has anything to do with some X-related upgrades:

I tried to downgrade chromimu to 40.0.2214.94-1 and it didn't help. I tried to downgrade nvidia, xorg-server and xorg-server-devel to previous versions, when everything worked and X chouldn't start.
Other observations are that if I start chromium, the ps command hangs and I have to reboot the system to be able to use ps command again.

It's worth mentioning that I also run spectrwm, like SgrA, however i don't have other issues with freezing on shutdown etc.
