Skins won't apply, portal-skin.css is full of errors.

Hi I am trying to follow the Middleware Tutorial for Oracle WebCenter Portal Developers and am trying to apply the skin they made but my css skin files are full of errors. Even the
portal-skin.css is full of errors. The error that they are full of is unknown pseudo-class: alias . As a result of this the skin doesn't show. Any help would be appreciated.

JSF: Using own custom styles in skin css file?

I have created custom skin by defining custom css file and implementing predefined ADF style definitions (aliases).
Also, I need some other styles for use on specific parts i application, and my idea was to put these styles in same css file which is used in skin definition.
For example:
.footer_txt {font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 9px; color: #FFFFFF}
My intention was to use this styles in styleClass attribute of various
adf faces components
But after starting application, I can't find my additional styles in generated css file (pfmskin-desktop-10_1_3_1_0-ie).
Looks like that css generator is ignoring any styles which are not ADF predefined styles?
I was thinking that this is possible, because at the end of srdemo.css file (in SRDemo application) there is one part like this

I can put my styles in separate css file, but then I have to include this file in every application page...

Just checked out it is not so easy as I thought.
There are few standard components that work with css, for instance ContentFolio. Unfortunately, in 11g Component Wizard does not allow to open the standard components for changes - at the first glance it seems to me that there is an html resource which references the css and css is added to the component just as a file resource (to make it to the component zip package).
Therefore, it might be easier to modify it in the original destination. Search for skin.css in your middleware home and ucm_instances installed base (there will be quite a few, but not too many). Try to determine which ones could be used, modify them in a way to be able to distinguish, which one is actually used (color, size of fonts, whatever), and that's it.
For instance, in my installation there are 120 occurrences of skin.css, but only 15-20 are good candidates (I have UCM, IBR, and URM, then I have css per layout and skin, etc.)

ADF skin css

In my application i am using 3 JSPX pages i have used common skin (CSS file) which is reflecting in all pages and working.
But i want to add few more specific css styles to each page , say i have pag1.jspx , pag2.jspx and pag3.jspx , i want to use page1.css only for page1.jspx , page2.css only for page2.jspx and page3.css only for page3.jspx. is it possible?
if possible can you suggest way to do it?

Office 365 pro plus 2013 update won't apply automatically

We have started to use office 365 pro plus 2013 click to run. The issue / problem we have is that the updates are installing but does not apply. The version of word,excel.. Is old
and i need to manually go to example word and account to apply the updates. I want the updates to automatically apply.
In the config file i have enabled updates. <Updates Enabled="TRUE" />. I have also enabled updates thru group policy and checked that the policy is applying.
In the registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\15.0\ClickToRun\propertyBag i have the following keys:
updatesenabled = 1
UpdatesDiscoveryPeriodComplete = 1

Does anyone have this problem and know how to make the updates apply automatically. I know that if there are office applications open it won’t apply or update but i have a test

How to apply style sheet (.css) in Weblogic directory listing

We are migrating a directory listing application from Apache to Weblogic.
Earlier we did this by Apache httpd.conf entry like below :

We are able to view the reports but we do not get look-and-feel of Apache like directory listing.
but we encounter below issues:
1) File/Folder icons are not visible - we want to use style sheets in http header from the response that is returned from weblogic server
2) Filename is limited to 29 characters when it is showing
3) Files are not sortable as Descending order - we sorted using tag <wls:index-directory-sort-by>LAST_MODIFIED</wls:index-directory-sort-by> but the latest file is shown at the last
We are thinking that Weblogic must be having some configuration like Apache httpd.conf where we can apply style sheets (css ).
We would appreciate af anyone can provide better insight into the issue.
or is it possible to extend weblogic.servlet.fileservlet class to serve this purpose.

Adjustment Layer staying white and won't apply its effects to layering video?
I was using adjustment layers for color correcting and now my adjustment layer is just staying white and I've looked at so many forums and i can't find what I'm doing wrong...
I reset my preferences, I made a new project I'm clueless.

That is After Effects but ..try openig the composition window (TAB)
You are looking at the AL in Footage Window.

Drop shadow won't apply

I've added photo's to my 12x12 document and added a stroke to the inside of the photo to make it look like a developed photo and now I want to add a drop shadow. It shows on the in the layers pallette (fx) that I have done so but no drop shadow appears behind my photo. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong (I'm working in elements 10)

Hi there,
    I never did find out how to resolve my issue with the drop shadows on that document but i did have my photo's extending outside of my document so I decided to try starting over. When I opened a new document and opened my photo's I added the drop shadows before extending them beyond the parameters of my document (12x12). The drop shadows worked and I finished my page and discarded the other PSD, not sure if my solution will help you but I've done a couple more pages with no problems. If you do resolve your issue or come to understand why this is happening I would love to know......

I am having this same problem... my layer styles worked fine just yesterday, however now nothing will appear. I have duplicated backgrounds, added new layers, but nothing shows on my image. I've done everything mentioned in this form and it still does not work. I am frustrated to say the least because everything worked fine yesterday when I was using the layer styles. I don't know what I could have done wrong to prevent these from appearing on my image. Any additional tips would be greatly appreciated.

Clone stamp tool won't apply

Hello all,
I just moved to CC and I'm having trouble applying the clone stamp tool.
So, I create a duplicate unlocked layer and select my area to clone from using ALT.
When I hover over the area to place the clone it previews what it'll look like, but when I click the mouse it won't apply.
Any ideas folks? I'm on a MacPro late 2013 3.7 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon E5.

Some of the commands (especially Exposure adds/removals) won't apply to the photo. Please help!

With your theory in mind of it being a permissions problem, I went ahead and moved my Looks from an external drive to my computer. Still no dice. Although, do you believe that it might need to be in a particular place on my computer? Like say, a SpeedGrade folder inside and Adobe folder inside my library folder? I don't see why that would matter. I found a rather time consuming fix. If I open the Look in After Effects, I can apply it to the video clip but that's just a little convoluted.
I'll keep searching for a solution and post any updates. Thanks for your help thus far!

IMovie won't apply transitions between some photos

Software won't apply simple transitions between some photos. Have tried super short transitions (dissolve for eg) for a photo that appears for extened time, but no luck. Sometimes, this 'block' then affects the entire project, not allowing any transitions at all within that project.
Have reinstalled iMovie, which appeard to fix the problem, but as soon as I made say, 4 new transitions, it won't allow to make any more.
Is there a limit on total transitions for projects?

Answers below:
1. Its a 15 min project - with mostly DV - and saw, about 20 pics at the end of the project
2. Have 200 Gig free disk space. Not an issue
3. The problem has occurred on two very recent projects. And only appears at the end of the project (ie. just as I am doing finishing touches - which has driven me to distraction!) Both projects are no more than 15 min - both have transitions (short dissolves, overlaps) thru most of the project. But at some point iMovie appears to say 'enough' and won't allow any more transitions any where else of any length (ie under transitions menu the word APPLY is no longer highlighted). Which is odd to say the least.
4. No problems on earlier projects (but admittedly, this has started in the latest iMovie HD that i have been using). Have been using iMovie for over a year though.
5. All projects stored on internal drives.

I finally got my iphone out of recovery mode, after 7.1.1 but now it won't accept my Icloud info and states "An error occrured while trying to save the Icloud account?" What do I do????

Same situation. I installed iOS 8 beta 4 on my iPhone 5 and a few days later my iCloud account disappeared. My contacts and calendar entries are gone.
My Mac Mini and MacBook do sync as they should with iCloud.
When I try to log in to iCloud on the iPhone (the username shows "[email protected]" and password shows "required"), I put in my username and password and tap "Sign In", It says "Verifying" at the top and after a while checkmarks appear next to my username and password. Then I get an error message saying "An error occurred while trying to save the iCloud account". If I tap OK the message goes away, leaving my username and password intact (checkmarks are now gone). If I tap "Sign In" again I get a message saying " '[email protected]' is Already Added. This iCloud account has already been added to your iPhone". If I go back to Settings and then go into iCloud again it's not set up and appears as I stated at the beginning of this paragraph.
Nothing works and the sync does not occur. Contacts are empty and Calendar has no entries.

so Keynote still isnt working after installing, I thought you had it sorted from your last post.
If you have not done so remove any files relating to iWork and Keynote and reinstall iWork
files that must go are:
the iWork ’09 folder from the main HD > Applications;
the iWork ’09 folder in HD > Library > Application Support
the individual iWork application plist files found in HD > Users > (your account) > Library >
There are a number of free application removal tools that will do this for you:
trashme       webpage
apptrap        webpage
appcleaner   webpage

Skins won't apply, portal-skin.css is full of errors.
