Skipping Animations in Slide Show

Does anyone know if there is a way to skip through all of the animations on a slide? Often in presentations one needs to go back to a particular slide, and one would like the option of skipping all of the builds to obtain the final state of the slide.
Is this possible?

The settings for and album slideshow is only valid for within iPhoto. If you want a slideshow with the timing and other settings you set to play in Front Row create a full slideshow (via the "+" button) and select it in Front Row.

  • .gif slide show?

How to create a .gif slide show?
I've currently animated a slide show as a quicktime movie (with hidden controller, autoplay & looped) which works pretty well. But I guess a .gif would be quicker and more universal?
    What software makes a .gif?
    Thanks, Sam.

Actually, it's easier to go straight into ImageReady rather than create a Photoshop file with layers for each photo.
Just put all the photos you want in the "slideshow" in a folder (make sure they are all the right dimensions for your purpose). Then open up ImageReady and look under the File menu. There is an option to "Import Folder as Frames". Select your picture folder and then each photo will show up in the filmstrip as separate frames in the animation. You can then adjust the fading and timing. Then save as "optimized GIF". That's it.

  • After burning a slide show, I get a skip in audio

After burning a slide show, II get a skip in the audio about every 5 min. of run time.  I imported the pictures from i photo and the music from an itunes play list. When I play the entire thing in preview it runs fine with no problems, but after burning to a dvd, I get a skip every 5 min.  I burned to hp DVD-R (16x) and Memorex DVD-R (16x).  Still the skip.  I have burned to Best preformance, High Quality and Professional Quality.  I have even slowed the burn time to 4x.  Still the skip.  I noticed the bar at the bottom of the screen always reads 5 min. for the audio duration and when it goes back to 0 is when it skips.   The run time when I put the cursor on the audio well reads the correct 3min:35sec.

SlideShow function in iDVD - is limited to 99 photos per show.
Creating the SlideShow in iMovie HD6 or FinalCut - doesn't limit this but offers 100% control over process (audio and transitions)
Using iMovie'08 or 09 or 11 - will degrade picture quality as they only deliver every second line over to iDVD.
I never use "Share to iDVD" in any iMovie version.
    • iMovie up to HD6 - Just close it and import movie project from within iDVD
    • iMovie'08 to 11 - "Share to Media Browser" and as Large (not HD) will give as good quality as they can do

I'm using a PC. Web Site Flash generated slide show works fine on PC's.
Does not work on Apple platforms.
What do I use to to enable animated slide shows to work on Apple platforms?

    Hello,
Flash Player is only supported on Apple OS X systems (10.6 - 10.10).  It is not, and has never been, supported on any i-Devices.  There are no plans to support these platforms.

  • Slide show from QT file- skips!

    Hello,
I know Im in iDVD6, but want to know if someone experienced the same problem, or if my problem is corrected in idvd6.
I exported a slide show in iP4 with about 600 photos in a QT file. I then put the that file into iDVD 4. But when I play the DVD in a commmercial DVD player, the photos "skip" between every transition/photos.
iP4, when exporting to QT, has its own default disolve transition between each slide, so there's no way to change that. I have in the past exported slide show to QT and imported to iDVD and played without any problem.
Anyone has experienced this problem and has a solution??
The slide show inidvd 6, may not be restricted to 99 photos anymore, but does it repeat the same song over an over? Cuz 600 photos sometimes require 5-6 songs..not to bore the audience!
an Apple store Genius told me it had to do with the way the file was exported in QT. Tried other format, but to no avail...
Thanks in advance about your replies!
    michel

    John,
I've used for 2-3 yrs a variation of what you suggested.
I exported a QT file #1 with a sequence of say 120 pics with one song, then trimmed the end so it ends with music. Then exported another sequence of photo as QT file #2, with another song.... etc
Then with QT pro, I joined all the different QT files #1, #2, etc (which had already their own songs imbedded into), used the copy and paste, then did a save as "self contained" file et voila I have an entire QT file slide show with more than 99 pics with multiple songs. It plays great onto the computer, but on a DVD and player...it skips!
The reason I like using ip4, is because the newer version of iP5 and 6, export to QT creating a much bigger file size (short of saying humongous) One of the reason, is because when using KB effect, it create a 30 frames per second just like IMovie does, hence making the file reallly big. The old iPhoto 4, exports only one jpg per photo, and reference to the first frame to display the subsequent frame, untill the next photo. So say for example, 2 sec in iPhoto5, would require 60 different separate frames/photos (of the same pic slightly different from one another- to create the KB effect). But in iP4, QT uses the photo once, and for frame 2 to 60 (2sec) , it only references to the first frame..... therefore keeping the file size small...... this way you can put more Slide show on a DVD.
    Anyway I've sidetracked a little....
    any other suggestions?

  • How i can create animated slide show?

How i can create animated slide show to my web sites listed bellow? Is Adobe PS suitble for it ?
    My websites are
    http://insurance-helpz.blogspot.com/
    http://www.autoinsurance-helpz.blogspot.com/
You knowladge will help me to develop my sites with attractive slide show
    Thank you

JJMack covers some possibilities, predicated on the embedded player in your Web site.
You might want to look at another pair of Adobe programs, that work well together: Adobe Premiere Elements and Photoshop Elements. They are available in a bundle, and, if you do not have Photoshop Extended (up through CS 5.5), or Ps CS 6, or Ps CC, they cost MUCH less.
One can create the SlideShow in the Organizer (sort of like Bridge, but with some differences), then can Send to Premiere Elements for final editing, such as the addition of Narration, or a Soundtrack. From PrE, one can then output to many, many different formats for linking to the player on the Web site.
Now, if you have Ps Extended, Ps CS 6, or Ps CC already, you have video-editing capabilities, but some of the output options (and even Import options), will be limited.
If searching for a program (or bundle of programs), then the Elements duo will do exactly what you need. Also, both of those programs have their own, very active forums, so you will have two communities to offer you support.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

The audio skips between titles on my my slide show?

No rather foggy from a west coast Swedish out-look too.
If burn error - I would
    • Use a very good brand of DVDs - Verbatim comes to mind (ever heard me say anything else ?)
    • DVD type - DVD-R plays on even older DVD-players (No +/-RW - known problem makers)
    • Burn speed - I set it to x2 or x4

  • Edge Animate Slide Show cutting of the Animation

I have created a simple 3 image slide show, which previews perfectly in Edge Animate, however when exported as an AOM an then placed into a Dreamweaver html page, then previewed is not displaying correctly. The slide show works as it should, however the 966px W x 322px H slide show is only displaying half of the 322px height.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Modifying your embed code in the Dreamwever html file  should solve your problem.
Enclose the object tag used to embed the Animate content with a div and the set the dimensions as below
    <div style="width:966px;height:322px">
    <object style="width:100%;height:100%" src.....></object>
    </div>
If this does not solve your problem, can you share or mail me your file?

    Leaps beyond the ordinary...
Efficient code and buttery smooth animations make for a truly
    engaging
user experience. Slide Shows and individual images can be
    bookmarked and
all images can be viewed - even if JavaScript is disabled.
    Search Engine Friendly
Unlike many of today's Flash and AJAX applications, Slide
    Show Magic
markup is always fully visible and indexable by leading
    search engines.
    Auto-Choreographed Animation
Slide Show Magic detects the size of each incoming full-size
    image. If
it's the same size as the current image, the system will
    employ a smooth
cross-fader - simultaneously fading out the current image as
    the new one
fades in. If the incoming image is a different size than the
    current
one, the system will fade out the current image, glide the
    image
container to the size of the incoming image, then fade the
    new image in.
    It's all automatic.
    Staged preloader
When the slide show is running in automatic mode, the system
    will
preload the next image as the current one is being shown,
    providing a
    seamless experience in most cases.
    Intuitive toolbar controls
The on-page toolbar contains conventional media controls:
    First,
Previous, Play, Pause, Next, and Last buttons. It also
    contains a slider
bar that allows users to adjust the slide show timing, plus
    buttons to
toggle visibility of the thumbnail display and navigation
    menu, and an
    image counter.
    Drag-enabled thumbnail panel
The Thumbnail panel can be dragged about the screen, enabling
    users to
fine-tune the interface for best viewing of the show.
    Full-Size images can be hyperlinks
Each full-size image can optionally be set as a hyperlink to
    another
page, programmed to open in a new window or tab.
    Image descriptions
Each full-size image can display an optional description,
    which can
contain any type of valid markup (paragraphs, tables, DIVs,
    lists,
    links, or images).
    Automated image processing with Fireworks...
Web-ready images are automatically produced from your
    original images,
which can be located on any drive connected to your computer
    - including
drives mounted by your digital camera. Slide Show Magic
    handles all
image processing automatically - preserving your original
    files in their
original locations in their original and unaltered states.
    Your images
are scaled, optimized, and neatly organized into folders
    within your
    defined site.
    Import your existing images...
Point to a folder (or folders) that contain your existing
    full-size and
thumbnail image and Slide Show Magic will match them up and
    add them to
your slide show - unaltered and ready to view.
    Organize Images into sets
Slide Show Magic enables you to define logical image sets and
    organizes
the thumbnail panel into navigable sets.
    Mix landscape and portrait orientations
Your images are never distorted in any way. Original aspect
    ratios are
always preserved. Use both landscape and portrait images in
    the same
    slide show.
Deploy alone or inside existing layouts
Slide Show Magic can be inserted on a page by itself or
    inside an
    existing page.
    Select from 6 Themes
Select a dark toolbar, a light toolbar, shadow boxes (in 3
    sizes), or an
image rotator interface. Style themes can even be switched
    for existing
    slide shows.
Manage it all inside a dedicated Dreamweaver Interface
    Add (append) new images
    Delete images or re-order them
Manage Descriptions, links, and ALT text
Edit existing full-size or Thumbnail images
Reprocess all of your slide show's images
And lots more, including a comprehensive manual and free tech
    support.

  • How do you add a video clip to a slide show?

How do you add a video clip to a slide show using elements 12?

You can import some very short video clips into Photoshop and make gifs.  I can import short (10 second or so) .mvi video clips I've taken with my point and shoot camera.
Use File ->Import->Video Frames to Layers
CS3 doesn't recognize .mvi files until you enter *.* in the box, hit load, then find the file you want.
After the file has been loaded, go to Windows, and check Animation.
After the Animation bar loads, go to the right side arrow, check Make Frames from Layers.
Then Save for Web and Devices, and you've got your gif.
I find it much easier to use the separate software.

  • Newbie Here - How to Create a Slide Show in CS5?

I am using Windows 7 and I am familiar with PSElements 8 where creating a slide show is easy.  I just want to create a slide show in CS5 (in Bridge??  View>Slideshow Options?) using vacation photos from several folders, and I want to order them manually.
First, I can't figure out how to display more than one folder in the Content panel in Bridge.  Second, I can't figure out how to create and intersperse "blank" slides with text.   Third (and I haven't even gotten this far yet), how do I save the slide show and burn a VCD?  This was all so easy and intuitive in PSE8, I can't believe it seems nearly impossible in CS5!
As an alternative, should I simply re-save the photos as JPEGs (they are PSDs now), export them to a Desktop folder, open them in PSE8 and create the slide show there instead?   Thanks for any help and suggestions!

    1) Bridge has a new feature (can't think of the term at the moment) but it works like instancing or virtual copies. Select all of the photo's that you want and place them in the "collection" (Ah I knew I would think of it) Move to another folder and move them into the same collection and so on. These are virtual copies in that they don't really exist, but are a link to the original images. You then can use the collection for the slide show.
    2) Just create a page same size as your photo's in photoshop with what ever color background and put your text on it.
3A)The slide show can be exported as a pdf or swf. Windows can then copy the file to a cd. If you choose swf, you may need to alter the html file (I assume it generates one, if not it isn't har to create one) The html file would help the web browser determine the correct size to display at. If you have flash, it can be used to create a html file as well.
3B)If you would like the slide show to be displayed on a tv screen, then your cd/dvd will need to use a format that your dvd player can play, mp2 is the standard, but some can display jpg's, some are blue ray, etc. For exporting into the correct video format, then one of the following can be used. After Effects, Premeire pro, Encore, Photoshop (If you have quicktime installed and you are using one of the formats that quicktime supports like mp4)
If you have quicktime installed, paying the 20 bucks may be worth it as it will allow you to take your jpg images and generate an animation file as avi or mov. But can save as mp4 as well.
    4) In Bridge you can select all of the images and run image processor on them. This plug in is part of photoshop there fore it will be in the menu's under photoshop. It will let you specify the files size, format and any actions, etc. It will then place them all into a folder that you specify.

  • Best way to do a quick 800 photo slide show...

We have 500-1000 photos we just want to project for a youth project with some music. Would it be best to go through iPhoto or iDVD (or both)to do this? What is the best workflow? I just need to put in some basic transitions and music...
    Thanks in advance.

Note 500 to 1000 photos is a lot of slides for one presentation. 500 slides at 3 seconds each is 25 minutes. You are limited to 120 minutes on a DVD but you have to leave time for menus and transitions also so, the slide show will need to be 100 to 110 minutes long.
To play on a commerical DVD player, using iDVD you are likely limited to 99 slides using iDVD to create the slide show. Exceeding 99 slides can be problematic with some DVD players which either won't go beyond 99 slides or may have a "stall" or glitch in the audio/video when the 99th slide is reached.
Using iMovie would produce the best quality and flexibility (multiple transitions and music etc) but is time consuming as you will have to import pictures and work on the transitions individually. Global changes to transitions and timing cannot be made.
iPhoto might be your best bet but has less flexibility, but you can make global changes to transitions and timing (but all transitions and slide times will be the same). Create a photo album of your photos and arrange them in the order you want (you can skip this step if you want but I have found it easier to rearrange the photos) and then create a slide show choosing your transition and slide times and music. Now share your slide show directly to iDVD or share to a full quality quicktime file for better quality, in this case you will have to insert the file in to iDVD yourself. Note, if you have 1000 photos, this step will take the computer some time to complete.
Use iDVD to create your disk. Strongly suggest for maximum compatibility with DVD players that you save it as a disk image and then burn the image to DVD using Disk Utility (included on your system) at 2x or lower. Use a good brand DVD-R (not -RW or +R) such as Verbatim or Maxcell.
    Hope this helps.

  • Creating Slide Show Movie in imovie from Iphoto Album

i have several Queries , firstly ,for a slide show to music ( ie no avi files ) - do I set Mode to DV/NTSC or other. Secondly, I cant work out an easy way to 'AutoSync' an album of photos to a designated Music file(s)length. Thirdly, i do have a small video component i would like to include in my slide show ,but it is in the form of 'Video-TS' file - how too ??
    many thanx in Advance :-))

    Hello, scubahawkfish,
    Welcome to the discussions.
Here is a great discussion regarding slideshow creation using iPhoto vs iMovie:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=967804&tstart=0
If you are wanting to incorporate video, you must use iMovie. Here is an excellent explanation of synching audio to video using iMovie by Karl Petersen (always pay attention to whatever he recommends!): http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=607322&ft=y&amp;#607322
Here is help for synching an iDVD slideshow with audio if you decide to skip using the video and just go with iPhoto: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iDVD/6.0/en/243.html
As for importing the 'video_TS file,' here it the how-to: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=4459181&#4459181

  • IDVD Slideshow no audio / wrong slide show

Greeting, I have significant trouble with a iDVD project I have been working on. The main problem involves the slide shows. Don't be mistaken this is a large iDVD project, not much video input but 10 ish menus and 4 slide shows. I have experienced several problems with the slide shows. Previously one of the slide shows was duplicated in place of another slide show on a different menu. I was able to correct this by changing the order of some of the photos and re encoding the DVD. Currently Two of the slide shows have lost their audio content and several of the slides. I know that the missing audio on one of the slide shows is not caused by the format of the audio file as it is used on all but one of the menus.
I am going to try to re encode it yet again (probably the 6 or 7th time, iDVD tends to crash silently every third time) to see if it will encode correctly this time.
    Any other suggestions about this?
    Thanks!

However for one of the slide shows I did select the photos from iPhoto originally.
I wonder if that is affecting the performance...?
Here's an example of one of my slideshow projects that works fine. No iPhoto:
    Ireland 2006
iDVD 6 Pass Through widescreen theme
696 images that are 2816x1584 pixels shot with Canon SD700 IS
15 640x480 movies from same digital camera transcoded to H.264 with QuickTime Pro.
Part 1 and Part 2 submenu buttons on main menu. All submenus are the Chapters option for this theme.
Part 1 leads to a submenu. That submenu has additional submenus and sub-submenus. Part 1 leads to 12 total submenus. These menus contain images and movies.
Part 2 leads to a submenu. That submenu has 5 submenus with only images.
I had to "remove" animation on all the sub-submenus and not include any music to get everything on a single-layer DVD-R. The Menu info was WAY over the 7:30; something like 14:00 after these adjustments. About 20 slideshows with music. Additional short slideshows with no music.
Started the rendering/encoding process at exactly 1:00:00 p.m.
Finished the Menu video rendering/encoding process at 3:53:30.
Finished the slides and transitions process at 5:37:30.
Process movies start 5:37:30, finished 6:27:45.
    Burn process start 6:27:45.
    Retrieving ends 6:28:30
    Writing lead-in starts 6:28:30. Finished 6:31:55.
    Writing... finished 6:33:50.
