SLD Administration

Hello Experts,
I have installed a NW 04S system.I need to access SLD.I have given all UME,ABAP rols to J2EE_ADMIN. But when I try to access SLD page (http:
host:50000/sld) with J2EE_ADMIN user it gives error saying
" SLD not configured; configure the SLD in Administration first "
But the adminitration tab on this page is disabled. Please tell me how to configure the SLD.
regards,
Pravash

Hi Pravash
The problem which you are facing is because your user j2ee_admin does not have SLD rights.
Follow these simple steps:
1.Create a role called lcrsld or something you like
2.Assign actions to it related to lcr.For example lcr administrator. You can search with the name lcr and get all the lcr related actions.
You can also refer to the below link
3.Now add this  role to your j2ee_admin or any other new user.
4.Thats all you can now access SLD
The above 3 steps will solve your problem.

  • Content Synchronization missing from sld administration

We're running solman 7.1 and have an sld loaded. According to the doc when I go into the sld administration I should see a "Content Synchronization" link. What I see is "content maintenance" and no content synch within that. Anybody know how to stop/start content resynch in sld administration?
    Thanks,
    Daniel

    Hi Daniel,
Sounds like your SLD does not have latest versions of CIM model and CR content. Please check the minimum version of CIM model and CR content required for SLD 7.1.
Note  669669 will help you to determine the current version of CIM model and CR content.
    Thanks,

  • SLD Administration tab is Greyed

For some reason, when I connect to the SLD with User ID = J2EE_ADMIN, the Administration tab is greyed out.  I checked in Visual Administrator to ensure that the LcrAdministrator role was assigned, and it is assigned.  I'm at a loss.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  NetWeaver 7.0 SR2 installed.  Thanks!

    Hello,
Please add SAP_SLD_ADMINISTRATOR to your J2EE_ADMIN User and try again,
you should have LCR_WRITE ALL rights.

  • Error when SLD administration called in portal environment

    Dear all,
When we open our SRM-MDM JAVA (PJ3) system, we get this error :
com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.exceptions.WDRuntimeException: Exit-Plug must not be triggered with a URL when running in portal. Use portal navigation instead to navigate to another application!
I have found OSS Note 1450826.
In this OSS note, as solution, it is mentionned :
"If you need to call  the SLD functions, use the direct HTTP access to the SLD "http://<host>:<port>/sld".
    Question :
In a portal system, where do you change the property to have direct access "HTTP access ...." to the SLD ?
Data from SRM-MDM JAVA (PJ3) system are correctly sent to our Master SLD.
Our master SLD is running in our SOLMAN system (SOL).
Thanks in advance for your inputs.

  • Administration Role for SLD

    Hi Gurus,
I want to create a new user ID for the administration of the SLD.
As my Web AS's UME is config to abap datasource. I created a SLD_ADMIN via SU01 (I cannot create a UME-based ID via portal's "User Administration")
After that I edited the UserID(datasource ABAP)'s portal role. I included the following:
    Assigned Groups: SAP_SLD_ADMINISTRATOR(UME DATABASE)
    Assigned Roles: LcrAdministrator(UME DATABASE)
Assigned Actions: LcrAdministrator, LcrInstanceWriterAll, LcrInstanceWriterCR (UME Type)
But whenever I try to access to the SLD administration link of my instances' SLD
    http://<hostname>:5XX00/sld/cimom
I get an error : " 403 Forbidden: You are not authorized to view the requested resource."
What did I do wrong? Are there anymore group/roles I need to assign? My "administrator" ID runs well with the same assigned group.
    Thanks,
    Jansen

    Hello Jansen,
You should also certain groups that you can find in the SLD Configuration guide to the user. Also in Visual admin you need to add this use to the administrator group under the following path
services -> security provider -> Policy configurations tab -> Security roles tab -> administrators -> add the user in it

  • My SLD is configured in SOLMAN sys, How can I connect it with SAP PI system

    Dear Friends
My Basis has configured SLD in Solman, Now I cant use SXMB_IFR tcode in my PI that suggest me some error. saying "error in connection cant read secure connection config" or something like that.  Plus SLDCHECK tcode is also not happy. it suggest that RFC connections are missing.
It is clear that My SLD is not linked with PI system. something is missing in technical system part and its not even bridged. but since I am not a BASIS guy I dont know How can I configure it. Not even my BASIS guy understands that I need to bring SOLMAN SLD to PI.
Can anyone suggests me How can I bring my SOLMAN SLD to PI system so I can run SXMB_IFR tcode ? I need to create some rfc connection like LCRSAPRFC and SAPSLDAPI but dont know the connection type like t, or something else. Please englight me by suggesting How can I bring my SOLMAN SLD to PI.
One intresting observation is when I try to run my SLD over url using PI system as host it comes but says SLD is not configured properly and when I did the same practice with SOLMAN host it works fine and I didnt receive any error.
Please reply me. your any help will be appreciated greatly.
    Regards
    Naeem

    Hi,
Preferebly PI should have it's own SLD. And SOLMAN could use PI's SLD.
Please check Installation guide and SLD Administration Guide from Service Market place before finalizing SLD architecture in your System landscape.
I guess SOLMAN will have only one Instance in system landscape. (Not three system landscape like Dev, Qa, Prod).
If you want to go ahead with your current SLD plan, then Change your SLD hostname in Exchange Profile of PI, to SOLMAN Host name.

  • Issue in registering ABAP stack into SLD

    Hi all
The issue is as shown below. I appreciate your help.
    Environment: SLD host-Windows Server 2003, Oracle 10g, WAS JAVA 640 SP19

Please suggest how to resolve this. Please let me know if you need more details.

Edited by: Rahul Paul Patchigondla on May 6, 2008 9:57 AM

    Rahul,
as RK already stated: the SLD has to connect to an SAP gateway, such is running on an ABAP system.
You may initially try to use the SAP gateway from the CRM ABAP stack. Therefore you will have to adjust the SLD to use that SAP gateway. On 6.40 SLD: Administration / Data supplier bridge / RFC gateway: Server (host name) and Service (combination of sapgw and instance number of CRM ABAP system).
After that, in CRM SM59 SLD_UC, SLD_NUC, SAPSLDAPI will have to be adjusted accordingly.

  • NWDI for the 04s preview fails with 'SLD name-server configuration error'

After the installation, everything seems to work fine except that when I go to CMS, the links on the top seems to be hardcoded to point to http://pwdf3102:50100/dtr, even in the Domain Data. When I tried to change it to my local server, it keeps complaining about "Unexpected error; inform your system administrator: <Localization failed: ResourceBundle='com.sap.cms.util.exception.CMSExceptionMessages', ID='SLD name-server configuration error', Arguments: []> : Can't find resource for bundle java.util.PropertyResourceBundle, key SLD name-server configuration error"
Any suggestions on how to work around this? Thanks.

    Brian,
Try to import the model file first by going to SLD->Administration->Import CIM Model. If the problem sticks, then try to remove the systems. The preview version has lots of pre-exist system name in the technical system, which you can find giving errors since they're not reachable. So you can remove them from SLD (Home->Technical Systems) if they are preventing you from procceeding.
You need to go to http://server:port/dtr/system-tools/administration/NameServerConfiguration to update the name server as well.
    Hope this helps...

  • SLD Export / import Technical and Business systems

    Dear all,
I am new to SLD administration.
We have task to update the local SLD on the Production PI system PPI ( Target ) with the business systems ZEC, ZSC from the Production Master SLD on Production solution manager system
PSM ( source ) using Export/Import on the necessary technical and business systems.
Please confirm whether i am following correct steps :
Go to SLD Administration on PPI target system
    ALL Instances
    Instances by Class
    Model
( which one of this option need to be selected , please let me know  ?? )
Go to SLD Administration on PSM source system.
    select Export button ->
Select business systems one by one and perform Export which will create .ZIP file
    at local machine.
Go to SLD Administration on PPI target system
    select Import button ->
Select Export ZIP file which created in previous steps from PSM and provide location from desktop
Start Import button ( only if you get Continue import option )
Please let me know if above procedure is correct for business systems
if yes then  what need to be done for Technical system ??...do they require Export/import also ?
If yes when i go to technical system option i get Export option disabled...but same way when i go to
business systems option i get Export button enable and able to perform the export.
Do i need to only Export / Import business systems ?
    Plese help me.
    Regards,
    RR

    Manoj,
It seems entries are added manually .... should we remove and run Import for the same ...
or just try to overwrite .... in case of overwrite option ( as we have open OSS message ) SAP has suggested through OSS message that If you end up with problems when trying to overwrite, then the PPI SLD is broken and will have to be re-built because someone made a manual change to it and got the GUIDs out of synch with the master.
I do not understand if target system PPI SLD gets broken during overwriting operation as mentioned by SAP ... whats is the way / steps / procedure to Re-build SLD .
In rebuilt - process do i need to Import ( Export -> Export lines -> ALL ) the export backup created before start of this activity ? please let me know SLD rebuilt steps and about Remove - reimport issue.
Appreciate you time on this. thanks in advance.

  • Peculiar SLD

    Hi SAP Community
I recently installed one of many BI NW2004s with ABAP + JAVA stacks, have an issue with SLD. The system is on SP 9.  Perhaps I have overlooked something ?
Configured the SLD to its fullest, leaving no stone unturned, indeed SLDCHECK is showing all green, data bridges are actively sending information (both ABAP and JAVA) to the SLD, SLD is in running state. Can manually log into SLD no problem and can access SLD from PI.
However when I login into the Web Content Administrator, the Create JCo connection buttons are inactive, only Check SLD button is active, when I press this and then press test the SLD connection, it gives a red error line a the bottom of the page, can't remember the exact wording but somewhere along the lines of 'Connection to SLD could not be established'.
Further tested the CIM Client via VA using service DEPLOY, I get an error there aswell.  Although all relevant Application Services are running in VA.
Have done trouble shooting following the SAP published magic flowchart, no luck there as everything is YES.
Any fresh thought you can offer ?
    Cheers, Zapp

    Zapp,
I think there is a problem in your SLD config
Also, check the post installation steps as below
There is a Post Installation guide for SLD. That will be available in the Help section of the SLD. You can use that as a reference.
However there are certain standard steps that you need to follow for configuring the SLD.
    1. Make the object server settings in the SLD Administration. Start the server.
    2. Import the content. There are two files that need to be imported those are CIM.zip and CR_Content.zip. This is using the Import link in the SLD Administration.
    4. Create a technical system in SLD. This is under Home -> Technical Landscape -> New Technical system.
    3. Log in to Visual Administrator. Under Server Services SLD Data Supplier click on the CIM Client Settings and give the server name user and password there.
Then you can go ahead and create the JCO Connections.
Also, check the following PDF Guide
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sapportals.km.docs/documents/a1-8-4/sap%20system%20landscape%20directory%20on%20sap%20web%20as%20java%206.40.pdf

  • Name server not updated in development configuration after change of SLD

    Hi Guys
Hope you can help me with this one.
We have moved our SLD from one server to another.
After this we changed the name server in NWDI and in NWDS.
In NWDS i removed the development configuration and reimported it, but when I do this, a popup box shows the details of the development configuration and the name server is still the old SLD server. This means that when I start the NWDS I get an error saying that the name server host is unreachable.
    Where do I change this?
I found out that the name server is setup in the .confdef file under .dtc\0 in the field called name-server-url. If I change this manually in the file, it works. But if I remove the development configuration and reimport it again, I am taken back to the old name server again.
It seems as if something has to be changed in NWDI, but I can't figure out what.
    Can anybody help?
    Cheers,
    Jacob Vennervald

    Hi Jacob,
    I would proceed as follows:<br><br>
    -  login to your new SLD<br>
    -  go to the technical systems in the landscape area of the SLD<br>
    -  in the filter drop down select AS JAVA<br>
    - check if your NWDI has reported to this SLD in the last 12 or 24 hours, you can check this on the "last update" column<br>
    - if your system has reported to this sld the last few hours this is good if not go to the step "change J2ee to new sld" i will descirbe later.<br>
    - remember the name of the system here. it is like sid on dbhostname.<br>
    -  got to sld administration (link on top) choose content maintenace in administration<br>
    - in the subset filter select "All with instances" as class set SAP AS JAVA Cluster<br>
    - you should find your system there. click on it.<br>
    - in the new screen find a link in the middle top <nr> associated instances -> click it<br>
    - in the next screen you will see the relationship of the technical system to the rest of the sld data.<br>
    - there should be a topic called "hosted application server"<br>
    - the should be an entry like: system landscape directory: sld on sid on server -> click it<br>
    - here you will see the data for this hosted system. You can find the cim/url definig the SLD you will find the roles. Landscape and name server should assigend and so on here you can chage the SLD url. <br><br>
You can although proceed as follows. This as well requieres you nwdi to report and use this sld in j2ee see below if not.<br>
    - on sld startscreen choose landscapes in the landscapes part of sld<br>
    - select landscape type nwdi systems<br>
    - if there is no landscape you can create one<br>
    - in the landscape ypu can assinge systems. The sld should be availabel to choose.<br>
    - once in the landscape you can view the system and you can change the CIM Server url and the roles there aswell its just another view on the content.<br>
    <br>
    you can although check:<br>
    - open name reservation from develpoment part of start screen<br>
    - here you should find a button about enabling or disabling the sld for nwdi usege. this should be of course enabled...<br>
    <br>
<b>"change J2ee to new sld" <br>Ok and here what to do or to check if you are not sure if your NWDI uses/reports to the new sld.</b><br>
    - Go to the nwdi server an open Visual admin i asume you are running a 7.0 Di if not let me knoe i can although tell you for CE.<br>
    - ok in VA. select on of your server nodes->services->SLD data supplier.<br>
    - an overview page will show up.<br>
    - select the http settings tab in the lower middle.<br>
    - https settings will tell the j2ee where to report to. Verify the data and change if needed. use the lightinigbolt button on top to transfer data to the sld. have a little patiance if your data is not shown immediately in your sld,. it may take 1-2 minutes until it is shown in the gui.<br>
    - switch to cim client generation tab. those paraemters will tell your j2ee from what sld to read data from. It is important to understand that you may report to one sld but to read from antioher. depending on your sld landscape. The CIm CLient should use the same Sld as your NWDI uses in CMS setting.<br>
    - if all is setup. do a cim client test.<br>
    <br><br>
Allright. This is all I know on how the NWDI is integrated in SLD. Hope you can resolve your problem wiht this steps.
    <br>
    Have a good time<br>

  • AS-ABAP (BI) system registration in SLD RZ70 Error

Hi guys, I'm following the SAP note 983156 - BI configuration w. Template Installer and I'm in the step in order to establish communication between my BW IDES and Portal.
""Checking the AS-ABAP (BI) system registration in SLD""
    the note says:
"When configuring the Webdynpro Jco destination connectivity the AS-ABAP (BI) system must be configured in the SLD."
    Procedure:
Logon to the SLD: http://<host>:<port>/sld. (Your configured SLD (central or local SLD))
Please check in Home -> Technical Systems -> select type ABAP. This
should have configuration of your ABAP (BI) system.
If it is missing, logon to your ABAP (BI) system -> goto transaction RZ70. Fill in the SLD bridge: gateway info -> Activate -> Start data collection."
Well, when I'm in SDL Home > Technical systems, I have nothing there, so I started to enable the SDL Bridge in RZ70 and after running it, it gives me the error:
0: ibm_IAM_00                                : Collection of SLD data finished
    0: ibm_IAM_00                                : Data collected successfully
    0: ibm_IAM_00                                : RFC data prepared
    0: ibm_IAM_00                                : Used RFC destination: IBM_PORTAL_IAN
0: ibm_IAM_00                                : RFC call failed: JCO.Server could not find server function 'SET_SLD_DATA'
    0: ibm_IAM_00                                : Existing periodic jobs removed. Number: 1
    0: ibm_IAM_00                                : Program scheduled: 20100602 000100
1: ibm_IAM_00                                : Event-controlled job already exists; scheduling not necessary
I looked through other posts, I eliminated SLD_NUC and SLD_UC from JAVA Visual Administrator, but still, the error persists.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Kuatroka,
In relation to the following error received: "JCO.Server could not find server function SET_SLD_DATA"
    1) RZ70 could not find gateway - check gateway defined in RZ70 is up and running in host and SLD home page ->Administration -> Data Supplier Bridge and SLD gateway host is reachable from ABAP system host.
    2) Be aware SLD/J2EE does not install a gateway as standard - you must either install a dedicated gateway instance using Presentation CD/DVD or you must use a local ABAP gateway (normally local ABAP stack if SLD runs on J2EE ADDIN) or ensure the definitions are correct for any other ABAP systems gateway you choose to use
    3) Check the definitions in SLD -> Administration ->Data Supplier Bridge match the definitions in RZ70 - try also FQDN. Ensure these are the same!
    4) If you are operating multiple SLD see SAP note 700127
    5) Ensure you have not manually created entries for SLD_UC and SLD_NUC in the JCO RFC provider of the visual administrator. The SLD has its own internal JCO provider so there should be no entries in that of the Engine.
I am not sure of your SP levels, but this may also apply: if you have a gateway service on the defined host, the definitions
match between RZ70 and SLD, the gateway is running then it could be a problem with RZ70 - implement notes 906454 and 926089 and 907729.
    I hope this information helps.
    All the best,
    Cristiano

  • Connecting SLD to Sol Man 4.0

    Hi all,
I am trying to push my sld data to Sol Man 4.0.  I have set up smsy_setup and ran sldcheck and set up sldapicust and everything seems o.k. but when I try to execute the job to pull data (SMSY_SETUP) and I review the update log I see a message stating "the sld server is inactive" and I am not sure why.  I can log into sld and it's up an running so I don't know where to turn next.
One thing I do get is when I run sldcheck there is a message saying "No business systems found"?
    Thanks,
    Rodney Miller

    Hi Rodney,
is the SLD brigde also running?
Go into SLD ->  Administration -> Data Supplier Bridge, set update local SLD to true and start the bridge.
Business systems are only needed for XI, but not for what Solman is using.

    Pascal
