Slideshow In-browser editing issues.

After I edit the slideshow via in-browser editing, I choose "sync with web version" in Muse. Two things:
1. The newly uploaded thumbnail is cropped oddly.
2. The slide uploaded via in-browser editing does not sync.
Basically, the client goes to the site and makes a bunch of edits that I cannot sync in Muse. Only the thumbnails edits show up, and most of the time they show up randomly cropped.
This is driving me crazy. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Thank you for the reply.
We are publishing to BC, where the client has access to upload content. When the site is ready, we’ll publish to our own FTP host.
No warnings when updating the slideshow.
The crop issue happens only when we sync, yes. The thumbnails changed by the client look fine on the live site. Below is a link to the page:
St. Croix Sensory | TRAINING
As you can see, the thumbnails do not match the image in the slideshow. When the client changes the thumbnails, and images in the slideshow, they look fine and match. When we try to sync, only the thumbnails show up. When we update/publish to BC, we override the changes the client made because we're not syncing properly with the live site.
I appreciate your help. Thank you.

  • Using Upload to FTP feature hangs, rendering In-browser editing feature unusable. Is this a known issue?

Verified FTP settings with my hosting at Godaddy. Adobe Muse CC (2014) says it can't sign in with the credentials provided. Therefore, I can't use the new In-browser editing feature. Is this a known issue?

There is a default port, for most of the FTP sverver, is 21(or 20 maybe), then you can access FTP with " ftp.your_domain".
But for some reasons, the hosting providers change the port to other number, 2100 for example, and the FTP address will be "ftp.your_domain:2100". In this case, you can upload your site to FTP in Muse, but u cann't login your FTP in Adobe® Muse™ CC In-Browser Editing ,because you cann't input the port number (:2100).

  • In browser editing

I have just downloaded the latest version of Muse (cc2014) and watched some of the 'new features' clips. I can't believe that 'In-browser editing' is in the 'new features' section and with out any text formatting options. Its basically exactly the same 'In-browser editing' that always been available. When are text formatting options coming to 'In-browser editing' in Muse? - its been far too long. Is there some kind of internal interest issue here with Dreamweaver?

Please refer to Nathan's reply in this post for details regarding styling/data editing for text in IBE :

  • In browser editing not working on some sites

Hi. A client of mine wants to use in browser editing for a site I created in Muse CC 2014 so I tried to test it out.  I log in successfully to In Browser Editing but nothing on the site is editable.  When I log in to my own site through in browser editing it works exactly as it should so I am really puzzled.  Both sites were created in Muse CC 2014 and constructed in similar ways. The only difference I can think of it that they are hosted by different companies:
My site - IBE works - hosted by GoDaddy - Q Services Design - Home
Problem site - IBE doesn't work - hosted by Network Solutions - Batesville Civic Center - Home
BTW, the site I am having problems with uses a web-safe font (Arial) so that shouldn't be an issue.
Any suggestions? Any input would be greatly appreciated as I sold this site to the client based on the in browser editing capability.
    FionaQ

I just logged in to my "problem site" to take a screenshot and it is now editable. I'm not sure what was going on earlier as I logged in and out a few times and never could edit … But all is well.  Hopefully this was just one of those glitches.  FYI the browser I was using when it didn't work (and when it did) was Safari 6.1.6.
    Thanks for your speedy help.

  • In-browser editing screwing up font

Aside from the other issues I'm having with in-browser editing on an Adobe Muse site hosted with Business Catalyst I am now finding that in-browser editing does not retain the font that has been applied to text. For example, if I go to a block of text and paste over it, it will give my new text a completely different (seemingly random) font. Sometimes it just goes to a generic arial looking font, and sometimes it will apply something that looks similar to the font it should be but definitely different. Sometimes it will even make the lines of font overlap each other. It doesn't seem to matter whether the block of text has multiple fonts within it or just one font applied to the whole block. I get different results depending on if I paste the text in or type it, also where I type it and if there is a <br/> somewhere in the text. (I'm not putting html in the editor, just mean if I hit "Enter" to put text on a new line). The in-browser editing is pretty pointless if it doesn't keep the font. It seems kind of silly that it doesn't have at least a basic text editor ie. change the color, change the size, bold, switch the fonts. It should let you pick between fonts that are already found in the site. That would make this usable.
I have built quite a few sites with muse but this is the first one where the client specifically needed in-browser editing. After my experience with all of the glitches involved  (cannot merge changes with bc) I can't believe that Adobe is even offering this with Muse. Adobe if you're going to half-*** something just don't do it. All of the problems of having to deal with the in-browser editing glitches have already outweighed the time I put into building the site. The ease of using Muse is completely trashed by the problems of having to deal with this. Just take the feature away rather than tricking your customers into believing it's something "easy" that "just works". If I'd have known all of the headaches that would have been involved I would have just built the site in wordpress, joomla, or drupal. This problem is making me wonder why I'm even paying so much for a Creative Cloud membership. The main draws for me were Muse and the included Business Catalyst hosting. But the two don't even work together!!!

Wow, almost a year later and no one replied to you. I am having this same problem with my client, when they make a change it messes with all the fonts, or will just change it to something that looks like Arial, which I never used in my site. My client isn't happy because I told them this was a feature they were getting, but I'm learning now that it is pretty much useless. Can someone from Adobe please explain how to avoid this or is a fix that is coming out soon? I can't imagine it'd be that hard to add a few more options to the text edit, like choosing fonts and text size.

  • In-browser editing of Accordions

I've built a couple of sites using Muse and in one of them (www.tenniswalden.com) I used Accordions to keep my pages short.  I'm sure others might have used a different design to address the page length issue.  However, I liked the way it turned out and so do the users of the site.  I had expected I would be able to use in-browser editing on the site including the Accordions.  As it has turned out I can edit the individual item headers of the Accordions but the text in the expanded item is not editable in a browser and so I have to go back to making changes within Muse.  That's OK for me but not for others who will be editing the information in a browser.  Is this just the way it is or am I missing something?

Hello, I'm Jacob, a developer on the Muse team. I can help with the problem.
I'm unable to reproduce the problem with accordions in my browser, so I need some more information to diagnose the problem. What OS and browser are you using to edit your site? When you hover over the expanded text, does the page look like the image below? If so, what goes wrong when you try to edit the text?

  • How do I access other areas of a single page website via in browser editing

I have created a single page website in adobe muse. The menu is made up of hyperlinks to jump to other areas of the website. I would like to update a slideshow that is NOT on the home screen only I cannot access any other area of the website via Business Catalyst in browser editing apart from elements on the home screen.

You can click the Menu Item which will scroll the page to that specific section and then you can use edit.

  • Citrix Netscaler AppXpert with Sharepoint 2010 Page Edit Issue

Posting this as a questions and discussion point.
The issue is in using Citrix Netscaler with AppXpert with SharePoint 2010. I've seen this issue for two customers.
    Configurations:
    - Citrix Netscaler as the load Balancer
    - Netscaler AppXpert for SharePoint deployed on Netscaler (using either AppXpert version 1.1 or 2.0)
    - SharePoint 2010 Standard or Enterprise editions
    Issue:
A SharePoint user with appropriate rights go to a SharePoint page. They choose Edit page, make changes and want to save changes. At this point all SharePoint ribbon options on the top are greyed out. End result, users are not able to make changes to their
site pages. Issue happens for everyone including Farm Admins.
    Cases:
    a. The users are able to edit and save SharePoint wiki pages if I point user's PC to the SharePoint web server WFE by changing their local host file.
    b. On Citrix Netscaler, if I use the traditional load balancing i.e. without Citrix AppXpert, then the users are able to edit and save the pages. That is an option if the customer is using SharePoint 2010 Standard. That is not an option if a customer is
using InfoPath forms. InfoPath is a feature of SharePoint 2010 Enterprise edition. Citrix AppXpert for SharePoint is needed to make the InfoPath work. Else the users get session errors when they use InfoPath Web forms.
    c. The issue happens on almost all combination of OS and browser. XP, vista, Win 7, Win8, Win8.1, IE8, 9, 10, 11 and other browsers like chrome etc as well.
Please share your ideas and suggestions.

    Hi Faisal,
As I understand, the issue will be solved when end users directly connect to SharePoint WFE servers. Since the issue is related to third party products, I'd recommend you contact their support engineer for sufficient resource and assistance. For your convenience:

  • Credentials for In-Browser Editing in Business-Catalyst

    Hi!
IN-BROWSER-EDITING is a really cool service, but it seems there’s one quite critical point to this.
Sharing the test-site means for me, communicating the url to someone, so he can have a look at the actual site via, e. g.: myproject.businesscatalyst.com/ or even on my own server, e. g. www.myproject.com/ with no further interaction possibility.
But I’d like to open the gate for the client to edit texts by himself, as shown in Dani Beaumont’s video “Katie’s Café” / www.katiesbakerycafe.com. Here’s the clip :
    https://helpx.adobe.com/muse/how-to/site-owners-edit-live-sites.html
And here another clip relative to the same topic:
    https://helpx.adobe.com/muse/how-to/muse-in-browser-site-editing.html
Now, if I host the site on my own server, things are quite clear: I’ll set up a separated ftp access for my client.
But if I host the site on Business Catalyst, things don’t look so clear anymore.
Katie would like to edit Details like her daily specials and things like photos of her bakery items. Therefor, so she needs to log-into the site administration. I was chatting with the MUSE-Support this morning and they suggested I should share my credentials to the client (Katie) so she can log-into the project and edit things online. Hmm…
But I don’t think Dani Beaumont, like me, would like to share her Adobe-Product-Manager’s credentials with Katie. Would she?
Support: Yes, you can share the url but for editing you have to share the credentials
Me: And Tom’s Sandwich over the road wouldn’t like Katie to have access to his projects-files Dani is also working on.
I can’t really believe Adobe is suggesting us to share our own credentials, i. e. working with and even producing such a massive security issue in Creative Cloud. I hope not. Well, actually I think I missed something. Or didn’t I?
Any hints would be much appreciated!
    G

    Hi,
Rather than sharing your credentials, you'll want to add "Katie" as a user of the Business Catalyst site. There is a direct link to "Add In-Browser Editing Users" in the dialog that shows up after Publish completes.
The same page can be accessed by selecting the File > Manage Business Catalyst Site menu in Muse, and then (in the Business Catalyst page that opens in the browser) selecting Site Settings > Admin Users.

  • In-browser editing using a Yahoo hosted site

I host several sites through Yahoo Small Business web hosting.  I love working with Adobe Muse, but I have always had to export HTML then use Filezilla to upload to the Yahoo server.
When will Adobe Muse support Yahoo sites?  I would really like to take advantage of in-browser editing feature.  I cannot seem to get the upload to FTP to work with any of my yahoo settings.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Can you please help us with screenshots of the error or issue you are facing when using upload to FTP in Muse with yahoo settings?

  • Review and merge changes dialog not displaying in-browser edit changes

I've started to try out the in browser editing capabilities on third party hosting of Muse 2014 but have come against an issue with synching changes back to my local .muse file.
I have made some test changes to the site via the in-browser editor and published to live. Small text changes only. After logging out and then opening the .muse file locally I do get the 'Web version changed' dialog and click on 'Review'. I then expect to see a list of my changes to review but all that happens is that I get a message 'Sync Complete' and that's it. No changes show up in the file, no list of edits and my muse files doesn't change so is not in sync!
I have tried turning off and on again 'Enable in-browser Editing' but that doesn't make any difference. Any one got any ideas or have the same problem?

I don't know if something happened on Adobe's end, or if my sleepless night about this issue has helped me figure this out.... But I just got IBE changes to update in my Muse file locally when I restarted Muse.
Here's how I WAS doing it:
My muse test site was being uploaded to a test folder through Muse's publish File > Upload to FTP Host
I had named my test folder "xxx.com/Muse" (with a capital M)
    Close Muse
Update the site through IBE. I would change a picture and change some text.
    Restart Muse
Get notification changes had been made and be prompted to update my Muse file.
I would get a review option for the text changes I had made.
However, the images changes I had made would not appear.
Would get a message that all changes had been updated.
However, only the text was changed, not the pictures.
Here's how I GOT IT TO WORK :
My muse test site was being uploaded to a test folder through Muse's publish File > Upload to FTP Host
I had named my test folder "xxx.com/muse" (with a lower case m)
    Close Muse
Update the site through IBE, again changing a picture and changing some text
    Restart Muse
Get notification changes had been made and be prompted to update my Muse file.
GOT each individual change to approve/reject.
Changes were made in my Local Muse file for me to save.
So, after getting that to work (provided nothing has changed on Adobe's end) it looks to me as if there could be something going on with the capitalizing/unusual characters in the naming of domains & folders. Because I did notice that when Muse notified me that changes had been made, it always provided the URL for the site as "xxxx.com/muse" with a lowercase letter... regardless of whether or not I had uploaded to the "Muse" folder or the "muse" folder.
Who knows... I could be completely wrong... Perhaps the Adobe engineers have been busy through the night and fixed it and I just happened to be up and stressing and testing when it happened... But that's what worked for me just now.

  • Supervisor Desktop Browser Edition

    Hi Guys,
I know this is probably an age old question asked many times, but I have a customer with IPCC and a complete Citrix/TS environment with dumb terminals.  I'm just wondering what other people have done as an alternative to running the supervisor desktop in in a TS environment?
Also - I have heard rumblings about a browser edition - might this be web supervisor desktop client?

    1.  Are the services mentioned actually running?  And do they have  the proper rights on CCM?  A good test of this is making sure that they  can function using the normal CAD software.
Where are these services supposed to be running (ie. my PC, UCCX, CUCM?)
    2.   What OS and JRE versions are on the machine you are attempting to use  the BE on?  A JRE version issue can be a root cause for this behavior.

Check  the above, If they don't resolve your issue, then please post back with  the version of UCCX you are using and the exact URL you are attempting  to use to connect to CADBE.
Yes, I can ping my UCCX server with no problems.  I'm trying to go the following link to connect CADBE (https:///cadbe/CAD-BE.jsp)
