Slideshow in GoLive

Daverj...
Is there a way to add transitions to your actions?
Also, for anyone...
Is it possible to insert an .exe into GoLive for slideshows? I have a very good program called Pic to .exe and it creates very nice shows. Plus I have Lightroom which also creates a slideshow.
These provide transitions and are smoother than GoLive's version.
Any help would be appreciated. Please contact me at [email protected] I'm not sure I can get back here. :)

Just a thought... "the base image must have a name." Have you checked to make sure the base name image is used in the action. The instructions seem a bit vague and don't tell you when/how to use the base name, unless I'm overlooking it. Check that first, then is all else fails...
I'd suggest you use DaverJs SuperSlide show. It does everything you want and
is easy to setup. Your current files and naming structure will work with
this slideshow.
SuperSlide set of actions. The download file is at the bottom of this page.

Another user had questions on using SuperSlide and I provided screen caps on
implementing it's use. I use GoLive CS, but CS2 shouldn't be too much
different. Here is the thread.

It would be good if you could get the current slideshow to work, but if all
else fails try DaverJ's SuperSlide. I've used it extensively and it works
well. Here is an example page. The slide includes 80 images, so it might
take a few seconds for the images to load in your browser cache before the
slide starts. It's set to autoplay and loop.

another example... sorta a fun page.

I also use Mindpallet MultiPreload action to preload the images in the browser cache.

  • Lightroom Slideshow to GoLive

    Good morning everyone...
I have built a website in GoLive and want to add a slideshow with transitions (fades and such that the GoLive method does not provide).
Is there a procedure to create a slideshow in Lightroom and insert it into a frame in GoLive?
    Thanks

  • Automatic slideshow in GoLive

I would llike to add as slideshow that opens up automatically when the user gets to the page and also, that loops indefinately.
I tried making a SWF file from Image Ready, but it ended up being Soooooo heavy!!...22 mo for only 6 photos!??
I looked up some tutorials, but all i found was how to make a quicktime slideshow directly from golive...its ok but I want the slideshow to start automatically, not for the user to have to press play.
ideally, I would like to include about 15-20 different stills.
there is surely a simple way to do this?!!
I am on mac os 10.4.11
    and GoLive CS 2
    thanks for your help!......Katah

  • How to create a SlideShow in GoLiveCS2 using Actions

    Good day to all,
I was wondering if anyone has an idea how to make a photo slideshow in GoLive CS2 using the Actions? I have no experience in JavaScript, Actionscript and am not a programmer. Any information would be highly appreciated.
I know how to create remote rollovers using Actions but not Slideshows.
    Please advise
    Regards,
    Alek

I suggest hopping over to this address:
    http://www.mindpalette.com/actions/index.php
and downloading the SlideShow Kit Action. It has more than you probably need, but should do the trick. Make sure to read the documentation, it explains how to use it.

  • Slideshow Setup

I am trying to set up a slideshow in GoLive CS2.  I have prepared all the images according to the rules.  In the actions pallette I selected the trigger action (mouse click) and selected multimedia>slideshow.  I tried to select the Base Image from the Base Image pop-up menu, but the pop-up menu is dimmed.
How can I activate the Base Image pop-up menu?
I am using Mac OS 10.5.8 on an Intel core duo.

    Walt,
I deleted the height and width properties in the source code and it
    worked like a charm.
    Incidentally, I have GL version 8.0.1 (CS2).
For user guides, I rely on "GoLive6 For Dummies" and the GL HELP file,
    both of which are limited.
    Thanks for all your help.

  • Quicktime objects not working on GoLive

I have a GoLive CS2 Student Version. My Quicktime Objects are not working. I tried to drag the track objects to the page or to layer and no avail.
Can you help me? I spent a whole day to finally figure out the Quicktime objects not working.

Thank you for the support John,
To explain what I am doing in more detail: I am basically making an image gallery with thumbnail buttons of each image. When the user enters this page I want to have the automatic slideshow of a few images. Then the user have the option to click on the buttons to see the images. I was able to make a slideshow in GoLive. But the transition is abrupt. According to the GoLive Help Menu there is a way to make the trasnition smoother using the timeline editor, but it is too difficult to follow up for me. So I downloaded another program called SWFn'Slide which was very easy to make the smooth transitional slideshow. Now I am trying to insert the SWF file into my page. But I can't figure out how to do it. In my understanding, I must place a layer on the page and on that layer I must place the SWF track from the Quicktime Objects tab. But I cannot drag any of the Quicktime Objects tools into the page. Again I am having a problem inserting a SWF file into the page.

  • Adding a web animation

If I wanted to add a web animation of my previous designs (different files) to my website, what is the easiest way to go about it.  What programs should I use?  I own Adobe Creative Suite, so I would like to use those programs if possible.  Thanks for any help.

Okay, I figured out how to use the slideshow in GoLive (thanks John) but now I want it to automatically play when the site is downloaded.  However, when I go the the Actions palette and choose OnLoad and then New the screen flashes, and then the OnLoad, OnErr, etc disappear from the Events menu.  Is  there something wrong with my version of GoLive?  Is there a way through HTML that I can change the way the slideshow works?  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance!!!

  • Tutorial on how to use slideshow in adobe golive

    hI,
I have been tearing my hair out for the last week I find it impossible to work out how to set up a slideshow in adobe golive cs - Does anybody know some simple tutorials on how to do it, as I find the online help with golive no help at all..!
I have tried this link, but I still can't work it out
    http://www.afterhours.org.uk/qtips/sld_act.html
    Step 2:
Place the first image of the slide show sequence on the page where you want your slide show to appear. That will be the base image of the slide show.
The image needs a name so that the Javascript used for the slide show can reference it properly. This is done on the Basic tab of the Image Inspector in GoLive CS, and in the More tab of that Inspector in earlier versions. (Mouse over the link underneath the CS image shown to see the GoLive 6 Inspector.)
What are you suppose to put in the ALT TEXT AND NAME/ID
It says in the tutorial put Basic slide show in the ALT TEXT is that correct..?
and the link what are you suppose to put in the text section of the inspector
I have named my jpegs as 01.jpeg 02.jpeg and so on and put them into a folder that says canoe..
any help would be much apreciated..

Here's what Keynote's Help viewer says...
    Using Sound and Movies:
You can add audio—a music file or playlist from your iTunes library, or any other sound file—to a Keynote document. You can add sound in the following ways:
    • On an individual slide. The sound plays when the slide appears and stops when the slideshow advances. See Adding Sound to a Slide.
    • As a soundtrack for the entire slideshow. The audio starts playing when the slideshow starts. See Adding a Soundtrack to a Slideshow.
    • As recorded narration. You can record yourself talking about each slide. See Adding Narration.
You can also add video or Flash movies that play within a slide. For Flash to work with QuickTime 7.1.3 and later, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click QuickTime, click Advanced, and select Enable Flash.
Keynote accepts any QuickTime or iTunes file type, including the following:
    • MOV
    • FLASH
    • MP3
    • MPEG-4
    • AIFF
    • AAC
Adding a Soundtrack to a Slideshow:
If you add a soundtrack, the music starts playing when the slideshow starts. You can specify whether to play the audio once or repeatedly, or you can turn it off.
    To add a soundtrack:
    1. Click Inspector in the toolbar, and then click the Document Inspector button.
    2. Click the Audio button.
    3. Drag an audio file or playlist from the Media Browser to the Audio well in the Document Inspector. If you change a playlist, the change won’t be reflected in your soundtrack until you add the playlist again.
You can also drag a sound file from the Finder.
    4. To repeat the sound file as long as the presentation is playing, choose Loop from the pop-up menu in the Document Inspector.

  • Fatal error creating a slideshow in PSE 7 ?

Running PSE 7 on XP (SP3). I select photos and click create slideshow. Program aborts immediately.

Any Ideas what may be the cause ?

Deleting the CPD produced a functional CHM file, but only
after compiling in HTML Help Workshop. I did, however, receive an
    error message regarding 2 URLs.
I was unable to find the URLs using the Adobe GoLive search
function, but the HTML Help Workshop error log insists I have two
addresses with backslashes (\) instead of forward slashes. I don't
get it: my URLs are correct in Project Manager, and I can't find
    the backward URLs anywhere.
When I try compile the CHM using RoboHelp, the application

  • Best way to do a simple slide animation in GoLive 6?

    Hi,
I'm an illustrator and manage my own site (only) in GoLive 6. I only update rarely and this last time it has been 3 years. My index page has a single image, but I'd like to use 4 or 5 images cycling in that spot with the best "disolve" I can get.
    www.daveseeley.com
I've tried building the animation as a swf file in Imageready (cs2) = 10 second download of 3.4mb file in DSL=nonstarter...then tried an animated gif in which is about the same size, with much worse image quality, and it loads immediately and plays while continuing to load....so could work, but not ideal. I see that GoLive has a slideshow action, but cannot figure out how to do it.... Will that be with no dissolve setting=harsh transition if I just have the 4 or 5 images as jpegs with no transition files, or is there a way to do that automatically?
I do have photoshop cs3, but haven't yet loaded it.
    Thanks for any help...

  • Slideshow Action -- Auto start

I've used the slideshow action In GoLive once before, but in conjunction with a mouse click and it worked fine. However, I now want to have a slideshow on the home page of a website and have the slideshow begin automatically when the page is opened. The "slideshow auto" action seems to require either a mouse or keystroke event as a trigger. How can I get the slideshow to begin automatically upon page opening. I'm assuming it can be done easily, I just can't seem to figure it out . . . I'm utilizing a Mac/2.33 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo/2GB RAM running MacOS 10.4.11 and GoLive CS2 . . .

  • Just moved from GoLive to DW, how do I do this?

I’ve just moved over to Dreamweaver CS3 from GoLive and
there are a few things I cant figure out how to do that we’re
    really simple in GoLive:
1.How do you make a scrollable window? I want to make a
scrollable fixed window for a ‘news section’. (I used
to do this with an inline Frame in GoLive but this seems very
    different in Dreamweaver.)
2.Is there any easy way of making a simple slide show in
    Dreamweaver without using Flash?
Can anyone help or point me in the right direction?
    Cheers
