SM30 - Deleting a record with Foriegn Key Constraints

I have a two custom tables ZCCED_STATUS and ZCCED_COSTITEM.
ZCCED_COSTITEM has a status column with a foriegn key to a (PK) status record in ZCCED_STATUS.
I have generated table maintenance objects for the table ZCCED_STATUS.
When I go to SM30 and maintain the table ZCCED_STATUS I can select a status record and delete it. (still ZCCED_COSTITEM records using that status)
Is there any way that SM30 can warn or stop a user from deleting a ZCCED_STATUS record when there are child records in the ZCCED_COSTITEM table?
Regards,

Create a maintenance view , link both tables and generate a table maintenance for the maintenance view . it will work.

    The above link should be posted.
    Per my understanding, first you should
    delete the record from the Foreign Table and then after you have to delete the record from the Primary Key table
    Hope it helps you.

  • Master data records with one key

    Hello All,
    I have scenario that I need to load the master data records with one key.
    For ex--
    Cluster            Dcode               version
    5000                 DC1                  2008
    5000                 DC1                  2008
    5001                  DC1                  2009
    Could you please let me know possible ways.
    Thanks

    In your case if Cluster is the key then the underlying attributes data will be overwritten when the same cluster key comes.
    as per you example data finally it loads only two records in to the target, since first two records key is same.
    Hope this helps.

    My request goes off red and the message looks somehow like "Record filtered in advance as error records with the same key exist", "Filter out new records with same key". I have already checked the duplicate handle record setting in DTP. Still why am i getting this error.
    Would appreciate if some one could suggest me in this.

    Hello Shridevi M ,
    When I execute my DTP, I get a master data load failure : "Record filtered in advance as error records with the same key exist" . It's the same as you get. Please tell me how did you solved this probelm?

  • Package parametеr "overwrite records with match key" (BPC 10)

    Hi all.
    We load data from DSO in SAP BW to BPC. We use the /CPMB/LOAD_INFOPROVIDER process chain for that.
    In the package we use the "overwrite records with match key" parameter for the "Handling of records in target" setting.
    But if there's no data in the DSO, the package hangs in the "Running" status and won't finish loading.
    If we start the package with the "append" parameter for the "Handling of records in target" setting, then package finishes with the warning status.
    What could be the problem if use "overwrite records with match key" ?
    Best regards,
    Sergey

    Hi,
    As per the below note its known issue in SP08. In which version of BPC are you running now.

  • Delete multiple records with MDM WebService

    Hi everyone!
    I'm using an MDM Web Service with delete functionality. It identifies records to be deleted either by internal ID or by defined field value. The point is that i need this web service to delete all records with one specific value in specific field (lets say all the records with value "hidden" in field "VISIBILITY").
    But when I try to map value "hidden" of the field "VISIBILITY" to the web service input in BPM it says in tracing that there are multiple fields with that value in the table (certainly there are) and that it can't process them. Cause it doesn't support multiple processing. Is there any way to do that?
    Thanks in advance,
    Peter

    Hi Peter,
    I guess you can do that if you first retrieve the internalIDs of the to be deleted records:
    Do a search for the records with the field value.
    Then you will receive the internalIds of them.
    Then you can put these internalIds to the delete records webservice. Each in a new element of the record identification.
    I hope this helps!

  • Join 2 tables which are not related with any primary-foriegn key constraint

    Hello,
    How to join 2 tables which are not related with any primary key foreign key constraint.
    Ex.Consider Table A has 5 columns->A_ID,A_Name,A_Address,A_City,A_Pin(Total 10 rows)
    Table B has 5 columns->B_ID,B_Name,B_Adress,B_City,B_City(Total 30 rows)
    From both the table i want the data,which i need to use in curosr to display finally as "Address Label".
    Both the table are entirely different,but there can be some names of Table A which may come in Table B also,if the name,address and city is also same.That means same person in both the table.
    So finally i want total number of distinct records(distinct data of Table A which is not in B+all the data of table B) to come under Address Label.
    How can i write the select query for this condition?
    Thanks
    Swapna

    Both the table are entirely different,but there can be some names of Table A which may come in Table B also,if the name,address and city is also same.That means same person in both the table.I think you want a UNION, not a join.
    If you have 10 rows in table_a, and 30 rows in table_b, then
    SELECT       A_ID,          A_Name,     A_Address,     A_City,     A_Pin
    FROM      table_a
    UNION
    SELECT       B_ID,          B_Name,     B_Adress,     B_City,     B_City
    FROM      table_b
    ORDER BY            2,               4
    ;will produce up to 40 rows; 40 if there are no duplicates. (UNION implies DISTINCT.)
    The corresponding column types should be similar, if not exactly the same.
    There's no problem if A_Name is VARCHAR2 (50) and B_Name is CHAR (30).
    However, there will be a problem if A_ID is a NUMBER and B_ID is a TIMESTAMP.
    You must have the same number of columns in all branches of the UNION.
    If you want an ORDER BY clause, put it at the very end, after the last branch of the UNION.
    You can use positional notation (where 2 means the 2nd column) like I did, or you can use names from the first prong of the UNION (such as A_Name).
    From both the table i want the data,which i need to use in curosr to display finally as "Address Label".
    So finally i want total number of distinct records(distinct data of Table A which is not in B+all the data of table B) to come under Address Label.I'm not sure what your mean about "Address Label".
    Whenever you have a question, post a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements, relevant columns only) from all tables, and the exact results (formatted) that you want from that data.
    You can concatenate all 5 columns into one VARCHAR2 column, if you want to.
    You'll probably want to use RPAD (or simillar functions) to make the output line up nicely.
    If any of the columns are not strings, use TO_CHAR to make string versions of them.
    For example:
    SELECT  TO_CHAR (A_ID, '9999999')
         || '   '          -- leave a little space between the left-justified a_id and the right-justified a_name
         || RPAD (A_Name, 25)
         || RPAD (A_Address, 50)

  • Two records with same  key (Infocube)

    Hi,
    I was trying to do, in a update rule, an "IF" condition with two key figures.
    IF Kf1 > Kf2. result = Kf1 else result = Kf2.
    But the data in the source (datamart Infocube to infocube) have tow records with the same characteristics combination (the same keys)and different amount in the keyfigures, then the result of my "if" condition is not the expected because I understood in the infocube only exists one characteristics combination. :S
    I was seeing those records in the manage transaction of the infocube.
    Some reason for this?
    Thanks and regards
    Victoria Leó

    This can happen with parallel loads.  Two rows with same set of Char values but in different packets of the same Request, being loaded at the same time.
    It really shouldn't be an issue - your update rule will make the KF change as desired.  Your queries aggregate KFs based characteristic values, not Dim IDs, so you'll get the totals you expect.
    Here's some more info:
    There is an RSRV Test that lets you check a dimension for a cube to see if multiple DIM IDs exist for the same combination of Chars - <b>Multiple Entries in Dimensions of a (Basis) InfoCube</b>
    Output looks like:
    12:02:24 o'clock on 08/25/2006: Start test run for user PIZZAMAN:)
    Dimension ZFM_C521: DIMID 61,215 and 61,214 have same characteristic values
    Dimension ZFM_C521: DIMID 61,880 and 61,879 have same characteristic values
    Dimension ZFM_C521: DIMID 61,366 and 61,365 have same characteristic values
    Dimension ZFM_C521: DIMID 61,368 and 61,367 have same characteristic values
    12:02:24 on 08/25/2006: Test run for user PIZZAMAN:) completed
    You can run the Correct Error option to have it update fact rows to use one of the DimIDs if you want, but unless you have lots of them, I even wouldn't bother.
    Here's the description of the test:
    <u>Description</u>
    This elementary test recognizes whether there are several lines that have different DIMIDs(dimension table key), but have the same SIDs for the selected dimension table for the InfoCube specified. (This can occur by using parallel loading jobs). This has nothing to do with an inconsistency. However, unnecessary storage space is occupied in the database.
    <u>Repairs</u>
    Since the different DIMIDs with the same SIDs are normally used in the fact tables, they cannot simply be deleted. Therefore, all of the different DIMIDS in the fact tables are replaced by one DIMID that is randomly selected from the equivalent ones. Before a change can be made to the database, the consent of the user is requested.
    DIMIDs that have become unnecessary are deleted in the connection. In doing so, not only are the DIMDs deleted that were released in the first part of the repair, but so are all of those that are no longer used in the fact tables (including aggregates). The consent of the user is again requested before this change is made.

  • How to delete data-records with BI-planning in BEx?

    Hi folks, masters and gurus,
    we just upgraded some of our functions from BPS to BI-Planning.
    Only one thing I could not resolve up to now:
    In BPS (web based) it was easily possible to delete data-records by choosing a radio-button beside the data-entry-field and click the "delete"-button (a red "-") on the top.
    When I tried to find a delete-function in RSPLAN now I only found one that deletes the data, but not the record itself.
    Does anyone know how to build a function that I can use to delete data-records?
    Thx in advance for your help,
    Thomas

    Oh yes ... it´s not necessary as it is easily possible to supress lines with only 0 in it with
    query-properties / rows/coloumns / supressing Zero / activ ...

  • Add a foriegn key constraint to to a sub type on an object table

    Hi,
    I'm trying to set up a new table of an object type in our DB at work and on it I want to create a foreign key constraint on one of the attributes of one of the sub types
    The table is called documents and is a table of document_ot

  • Error with forign key constraints

    hi
    I have a .sql file which contains about 180 tables scripts . TO disable the contraints i ran the below script first
    begin
    for v in (select constraint_name, table_name from user_constraints where constraint_type = 'R')
    loop
         execute immediate
         'alter table ' || v.table_name || ' disable constraint ' || v.constraint_name;
    end loop;
    end;
    and then the .sql file by giving @filename.sql .Some of the scripts are getting executed but the one's having forign key references it is showing containt error foreign key check. but when i ran the above script ie the one to disable the foreign key check again and then ran each of these table scripts which showed error before manually it gets executed .why is this so? can anyone help me in solving this problem
    Thanking you in advance
    Dinny

    I have a .sql file which contains table scripts and i some of these tables there is foreign key referencesing other tables so when i am ruuning the script it is showing such tables(ie the tables that i am refering to) is not existing for eg below is one of the script from the .sql file
    create table t_system_groups (
    group_id NUMBER(11) not null,
    group_name VARCHAR2(255) not null,
    group_desc VARCHAR2(255),
    parent_id NUMBER(11) default '0',
    full_path VARCHAR2(255) default NULL,
    CONSTRAINT pk_group_id_t_system_groups PRIMARY KEY (group_id),
    CONSTRAINT uk_group_name_t_system_groups UNIQUE (group_name),
    CONSTRAINT fk_t_system_groups FOREIGN KEY (parent_id) REFERENCES t_system_groups (group_id) ON DELETE CASCADE
    Since i have run the script for disabling the constraints before running the .sql file then why is it showing such as error. also showing errors with drop table having references
    for eg:
    SQL> begin

  • Taking More Time while inserting into the table (With foriegn key)

    Hi All,
    I am facing problem while inserting the values into the master table.
    The problem,
    Table A -- User Master Table (Reg No, Name, etc)
    Table B -- Transaction Table (Foreign key reference with Table A).
    While inserting the data's in Table B, i need to insert the reg no also in table B which is mandatory. I followed the logic which is mentioned in the SRDemo.
    While inserting we need to query the Table A first to have the values in TableABean.java.
    final TableA tableA= (TableA )uow.executeQuery("findUser",TableA .class, regNo);
    Then, we need to create the instance for TableB
    TableB tableB= (TableB)uow.newInstance(TableB.class);
    tableB.setID(bean.getID);
    tableA.addTableB(tableB); --- this is for to insert the regNo of TableA in TableB.. This line is executing the query "select * from TableB where RegNo = <tableA.getRegNo>".
    This query is taking too much time if values are more in the TableB for that particular registrationNo. Because of this its taking more time to insert into the TableB.
    For Ex: TableA -- regNo : 101...having less entry in TableB means...inserting record is taking less than 1 sec
    regNo : 102...having more entry in TableB means...inserting record is taking more than 2 sec
    Time delay is there for different users when they enter transaction in TableB.
    I need to avoid this since in future it will take more time...from 2 sec to 10 sec, if volume of data increases mean.
    Please help me to resolve this issue...I am facing it now in production.
    Thanks & Regards
    VB

    Hello,
    Looks like you have a 1:M relationship from TableA to TableB, with a 1:1 back pointer from TableB to TableA. If triggering the 1:M relationship is causing you delays that you want to avoid there might be two quick ways I can see:
    1) Don't map it. Leave the TableA->TableB 1:M unmapped, and instead just query for relationship when you do need it. This means you do not need to call tableA.addTableB(tableB), and instead only need to call tableB.setTableA(tableA), so that the TableB->TableA relation gets set. Might not be the best option, but it depends on your application's usage. It does allow you to potentially page the TableB results or add other query query performance options when you do need the data though.
    2) You are currently using Lazy loading for the TableA->TableB relationship - if it is untriggered, don't bother calling tableA.addTableB(tableB), and instead only need to call tableB.setTableA(tableA). This of course requires using TopLink api to a) verify the collection is an IndirectCollection type, and b) that it is hasn't been triggered. If it has been triggered, you will still need to call tableA.addTableB(tableB), but it won't result in a query. Check out the oracle.toplink.indirection.IndirectContainer class and it's isInstantiated() method. This can cause problems though in highly concurrent environments, as other threads may have triggered the indirection before you commit your transaction, so that the A->B collection is not up to date - this might require refreshing the TableA if so.
    Change tracking would probably be the best option to use here, and is described in the EclipseLink wiki:
    http://wiki.eclipse.org/Introduction_to_EclipseLink_Transactions_(ELUG)#Attribute_Change_Tracking_Policy
    Best Regards,
    Chris
