Smartform: windows in different pages having the same name

Hi all gurus,
first of all, please forgive me if I'm missing something, I'm quite new on the Smartform argument.
Shortly; I have to modify some smartforms made by someone else in order to meet customer's desiderata.
These smartforms are all different but share a common "structure", which is:
2 pages definition, P_FIRST and P_FOLLOW, which have actually the same internal "structure": they have a LOGO window, then a TITLE window, then a MAIN window, then a FOOTER, and so on.
In order to do my task, I added a new window in both P_FIRST and P_FOLLOW, let's call it CERTIFICATION_LOGO.
Moreover, I inserted a new graphic element under the LOGO window.
Modifying the smartforms, I noticed I have two different kind of behaviour:
1) in almost all these SF, I add a window called CERTIFICATION_LOGO in P_FIRST, then I have to add a windows to P_FOLLOW which cannot have the same name ( e.g. I called it CERTIFICATION_LOGO_FOLLOW);
2) in just one SF, when I add a window P_FIRST, then the exactly same window is added to P_FOLLOW. When I modify CERTIFICATION_LOGO window in P_FIRST, also CERTIFICATION_LOGO in P_FOLLOW is updated.
I can't find a reason why such different behaviour. Actually I'm testing my solution and found that the only smartform that does not work is the only one which I have described with 2). So my guess is that there's some setting anywhere which leads to that different behaviour and this could be a cause of a raised exception... but maybe it's just a case, also because I found in debug that in this standard call in the form PROCESS_TEXT_WINDOW:
perform xsf_window_open using docentry-tdwindow
                                docentry-tdwtype.
where docentry-tdwindow = 'LOGO' and tdwtype = 'T', the system exit the process at the first execution of:
check xsfop-xsf = c_true.
  check not xsf_obj is initial.
What does xsfop-xsf should mean? In my case xsfop-xsf = false and xsf_obj is initial... then the SF is not generated.
What am I missing gurus?
Thanks in advance,
Matteo

When you have common windows (LOGO on page first and logo on page next, etc.) you actually have one window definition.  What you put in the window is therefore always displayed for all pages.  In your case, instead of creating your new window and copying it into the follow page, you have two different windows, which now must be separately maintained, as to content, placement, borders, shading, conditions, etc.

    We have a 10 person office - all either use Acrobat XI or Reader XI.  One person is on Windows 7.  The rest are on Windows 8 (not 8.1).  I say this because I thought it was a Windows 8 issue, but having the same problems on the Windows 7 machine. We are all having problems opening pdf's sent to us from other firms. This has increased in frequency over the past two months. We've checked with the various firms, and their other clients are not having problems. Some pdfs open but with a lot of missing content and strange formatting, others won't open at all.  There are different error messaged depending upon the doc.  Some are regarding the fonts, for example "can't extract the embedded font...."  Others are "insufficient data" errors.  There are more, but for purposes of keeping this short, I won't include them.  Another unrelated issue is that we are having trouble printing excel files to pdf.  The files end up with bad formatting.  I've worked with adobe "chat" support, our IT consultants with no resolution.  I also haven't found any similar "known issue" online  Would very much appreciate any assistance.  Thank you

    The font embedding can be a problem if not done and you are trying to view the PDF and do not have the font on your machine. Acrobat will often try to find a replacement, but it is not always a good choice. Sometimes the "Use Local Fonts" button can be changed in state to resolve some of the viewing issues.
    If you are trying to copy or export info, then it is important that you have the fonts on your system. Otherwise, the message you are getting about embedded fonts would not be showing up.
    As for Excel formatting, be sure that the Adobe PDF printer is selected in the printer screen before you look for the paging and formatting of the file. In most OFFICE programs, if you change the printer the application will reflow the document to best match the printer (called "using printer metrics"). So check before you create the PDF that the layout is correct.

    You'd have to rename the table (using ALTER TABLE tablename RENAME TO othername; ) before you create the MV.
    You can't have both existing with the same name in the same schema.
    What you see in the GQ schema is that the "table" is the underlying table for the Materialized View.
    When you do a CREATE MATERIALIZED VIEW MY_MV AS ...
    Oracle creates two objects with the same name, one being the Materialized View MY_MV and the other being the table MY_MV which is the physical storage. {Remember that a Materialized View is a means of getting a physical representation of a View}.
    In the QQ schema what you have is either
    a. a real Table
    or
    b. an improperly dropped MV, resulting in the underlying Table still present.

  • Sync a phone with 2 Macs (having the same name)

    Hi,
    The question is on the title:
    is there a problem to use 2 Macs HAVING THE SAME NAME (I.E. my name) with a single phone ?
    I hope a clearly asked my question (my frenchy english is sometimes clumsy).
    Where can I find a omplete documentation of iSync.
    Thank you all

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
    The short answer is yes, this approach is problematic and can result in severe data corruption on not only your mobile handset, but on both computers. The name of each computer is immaterial: iSync is not intended to support the use of a device as a 'data storage' go-between to equalize the contents of contact, calendaring and tasks records on two or more Macintosh desktop or portable computers.
    Instead, you should synchronize multiple Macintosh computers using:
    • .Mac Sync with a .Mac account
    • MySync from MildMannered Industries (technology acquired by Mark/Space)
    • the not-yet released SyncTogether from Mark/Space
    More information about these options is available here:

  • WPC: unable to add different resources with the same name into a WPC page

    Hi,
    I got a WPC problem when adding different KM resources with the same name into a WPC page.  Only one KM resource is able to be added in WPC.
    For example:
    There two "article.html" with different content and RID:
    1. /company_a/article.html
    2. /company_b/article.html
    when adding these two html pages into a WPC page, only one page will be shown.
    This means that a WPC page is not able to contain resources with same file names.  I think the problem might lie on the resource-linking mechanism of WPC. WPC will add a resource link in the page folder, when a new resource is drag&dropped into WPC.
    Anyone has some good ideas to solve my problem? Thanks a lot.

    As this is not possible and double entries cause this problem, why not just pu both napes in the contact details on the same number. IE John Smith & Peter Jones all in the first name, by doing this if you search your contacts either by searching for john, peter, smith or jones the number will show up and if either calls the number will show John Smith & Peter Jones, it may not be perfect but will work. As the phone only recognises a number if two seperate entries of the number exist with different names it cannot possibly know who is calling ?

    What are the differences between them? Read the docs for one. Then read the docs for the other. The stuff that's not the same will be the differences.
    Why do the have the same name? Probably because that's an obvious name for a Java library that does packet capture.
    Which one should I use?The one that best suits your needs, which you can determine by having well-defined requirements, reading the docs for both, and writing some proof-of-concept code with both.

  • Can 2 different podcasts have the same name?

    My friends and I have recently created a podcast and posted it to Itunes
    http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the-get-a-life-podcast/id529624848
    After we had posted for a while a member of our group discovered that another podcast had the same name:
    http://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/get-a-life-podcast/id398385612
    Is it possible for both podcasts to exist? Will one of us have to change our name? Can they force us to change our name? I'm hoping neither one of us will have to do that. Any and all help in this matter will be greatly appreciated.

    If you mean can they both exist in iTunes, clearly the answer is yes since they are both there now.
    Look at this:  http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Get-a-Life-Podcast/107052592671571
    If you do a web search on "get a life" podcast you will find even more.
    It could be confusion if someone is looking for your podcast and finds one of the others.  Also, if one of you Get A Lifers gets famous (and I hope it is you), there will be legal action for sure.
    You may want to consider adopting a more unique name.  Just my opinion.

  • Three different albums with the same name is confusing iPod?

    I have three albums which go by the name Greatest Hits. There are three artists on my iPod who both have an album called this. If I am listening to Artist #1 and I switch to Cover Flow, then the album artwork for that album will appear, however the name of Arist #2 or Artist #3 will appear underneath with the song and album title of Artist #1.
    Similarly, I searched through the albums to find the Greatest Hits album and it automatically assigned the artwork of Artist #2 to it, but the song by Artist #1 was listed in there along with the songs from Artist #2 and Artist #3.
    I hope that all makes sense. I was wondering if this is a bug or simply iTunes/iPod becoming confused and merging the albums together because it thinks it is the same album even though there are different artists.
    If this isn't a bug, does anyone know a way I can resolve this issue?
    Thanks.

    1) Select (in iTunes) one album at a time.
    2) Get info on all the songs an make sure the Artist name is the same - and unique from the other two albums.
    3) Change as needed.
    4) Do the same for all albums.
    5) Make sure the artwork is correct for each album.
    6) Sync Touch.

  • EP5: move to a different page in the same window

    Hello All,
    I have a button with the following code:
    onClientClick="javascript:openUrl('"myMazminBean.getNewVisitURL()"');";
    the NewVisitURL directs to an iview and is created using the URL Generator. the openURL function on the jsp page is defined as follows:
    <script>
    function openUrl(url)
             window.location.href = url;
    </script>
    What I am trying to do is to replace my current iview with the iview in the URL. It actually works, but only on the second time I press the button. The first time I just get a refresh of the exact page I was viewing.
    If I look at the source of the html (via Explorer - view Source) , it looks completely different: before I press the button for the first time, the source is very long and contains millions of functions; after I press the button one time (which appears to do nothing but refresh) I get a much smaller source that contains mainly the current Iview.
    Any ideas?

  • Can multiple web pages use the same cookie?

    I have an applet that will reside in several different web pages. The applet creates a cookie that saves user preferences and loads them when the user next uses the applet. The problem is that I want the same cookie to load when the user views the same applet at a different IP Address. Is this possible? If so, how? I am currently using the netscape JSObject stuff to write and read my cookie.
    Thanks,
    Derek

    Sorry, you cannot access cookie across domains.
    If being able to access same cookie from different pages in the same domain satisfies you need, read on.
    Let's suppose you have two html files kept on your server as follow::
    MyHTML/main.html
    MyHTML/subDir/A.html
    Now, let say that when you save the cookie, the path is not specified. A.html will not be able to access the cookie set by main.html. However, if you specified PATH=/ (along with other values and expiry date-and-time), both html files will be able to access the same cookie via the document.getMember method.
    This is more of a JavaScript question than a Java question and you might want to pay a visit to the link below:
    http://forums.internet.com/WebX?[email protected]^[email protected]
    you can go to the bottom of that page, click search and type in cookie and you'll see a lot of Q&A on the topic.

  • Howto deal with multiple source files having the same filename...?

    Ahoi again.
    I'm currently trying to make a package for the recent version of subversive for Eclipse Ganymede and I'm almost finished.
    Some time ago the svn.connector components have been split from the official subversive distribution and have to be packed/packaged extra. And here is where my problem arises.
    The svn.connector consists (among other things) of two files which are named the same:
    http://www.polarion.org/projects/subversive/download/eclipse/2.0/update-site/features/org.polarion.eclipse.team.svn.connector_2.0.3.I20080814-1500.jar

    At the moment makepkg downloads the first one, looks at its cache, and thinks that it already has the second file, too, because it has the same name. As a result, I can neither fetch both files nor use both of them in the build()-function...
    Are there currently any mechanisms in makepkg to deal with multiple source files having the same name?
    The only solution I see at the moment would be to only include the first file in the source array, install it in the build()-function and then manually download the second one via wget and install it after that (AKA Quick & Dirty).
    But of course I would prefer a nicer solution to this problem if possible. ^^
    TIA!

  • Are drives with the same name differentiated?

    I'm running OSX 10.6.8 and three external drives on which data is stored (a main drive, A-Data, and two backups). A friend may decide to help me with a project and to do so will have to have the same setup. Naming the drives on the second system is of some concern to me, so I did some research.
    The fellow at http://www.cnet.com/au/news/drives-in-os-x-appearing-with-1-appended-to-their-na mes/ states:
    If by chance you mount two drives of the same name, because the system can't create two mount points with the same name it appends sequential numbers to new mount points as they are created, and therefore you will see the numbered drive names in the Finder.
    Unless I misunderstand what he is talking about, I found that I can have two drives with the same name. I can have two drives named A-Data on my desktop. And therein lies my problem (maybe). The project involves Premiere and several of it's sister programs, all of which require external files (video, audio, stills) to be linked, not stored within the working file.
    QUES 1
    Are disks with the same name distinguishable by OSX or software?
    QUES 2
    Assume that
    I am working on a project which is saved on A-Data (and all the project links are to files on that particular A-Data)
    I then connect another disk with the same name (and with the same folder structure), and backup my files to it.
    I then eject the first A-Data and open the project on the second A-Data.
    Will the software say that it can't find the linked files (because they are on the ejected disk), or will the project open as normal?

    Avoid having the same names if at all possible, especially if you use apps that 'link' to the media via the file path.
    The file path is set by the order in which the disks mount, which can change across reboots.
    To see what is going on by using Disk Utility…
    Select the first volume, look at the mount point (a blue link at the bottom of the Window) …
    /Volumes/A-Data
    Now connect the second volume & select it, look at the mount point…
    /Volumes/A-Data 1
    Now reboot, power off the first disk, leave the second one on & power disk one back on when the OS has competed booting. They will show the same paths, but each disk is now the 'other' disk - this makes a big mess for Apps like Premiere.
    The only way to make this work is to clone every file to be identical on both disks, and never use Premiere (or any app that links to media) when both disks are connected. Otherwise you risk linking to media files on 'A-Data' and 'A-Data 1'.
    Premiere must have tools for sharing projects - look at them before using disk names in this way.
    You could however clone 'disk 1' to 'disk 2' & then rename it on the second Mac (to make them identical to fix the paths for Premiere), just avoid bringing them to one Mac with the same disk names. It does make more headaches in future though, because your friend will add new media that you need to migrate back to your disk.

  • JTree Nodes with the same name

    What do I have to do to get the JTree to render nodes with the same name? These Nodes user objects are completely different object types and each has a unique hashcode.
    + Root Node
    +-- node1 (this is a folder)
    +-- node1 (this is a file)
    The problem is I have n folders in my tree but if a parent folder contains a folder and a file with the same name then no other subfolders are displayed.
    The nodes exist in memory because I enumerate the tree and display its contents in System.out.
    Thanks in advance!
    Matt

    Thank you to everyone that responded. I solved the issue. It was a timing issue...here's my original method:
    private void renderProductFolder(SubFolder sf){
    try{
    WTPart part = QueryHelper.service.findWTPart("number", sf.getNam());
    WTTreeNode node = buildWTTreeNode(part);
    super.getTreeModel().setRoot(node);
    renderTree(node, sf); // This is the problem call
    super.getSelectionModel().
    setSelectionPath(new TreePath(node.getPath()));
    super.expandPath(new TreePath(node.getPath()));
    }catch(Exception ex){
    ex.printStackTrace();
    Here is the fix:
    private void renderProductFolder(SubFolder sf){
    try{
    WTPart part = QueryHelper.service.findWTPart("number", sf.getNam());
    WTTreeNode node = buildWTTreeNode(part);
    renderTree(node, sf); // This was the problem call
    super.getTreeModel().setRoot(node);
    super.getSelectionModel().
    setSelectionPath(new TreePath(node.getPath()));
    super.expandPath(new TreePath(node.getPath()));
    }catch(Exception ex){
    ex.printStackTrace();
    I was originally building the root node, then setting it as the root, then adding additional nodes to the root in the call to renderTree(). So the fix was to build the complete tree structure and then call setRoot(). Otherwise the tree doesn't automatically paint the nodes when they're added via node.add(nodeChild).
    It was just a coincidence that I discovered this problem with nodes having the same name.
    Thanks for all your great input!

  • How to import images that have the same name as images already imported

    I am trying to import images into LR3.  I have a number of images with duplicate names.  Some of them are duplicate images that I simply have stored in different directories and some are images that are not duplicates but have the same name.  LR3 refuses to import any images that has the name of an image that has already been imported.  Is there anything I can do about this.  If not, it kind of makes the softwares useless to me.
    In hopes of a solution . . .
    --Kenoli

    Thanks.  I'm sure making sure all file names are discrete makes sense.  I guess I need to find some kind of bulk re-name utility.
    Additionally, I am dealing with a very large set of unorganized images and one of the uses I would like to put LR3 to is to organize the images into directories and get rid of duplicates while inspecting them to make sure that I don't trash differing images with the same names.  One of the challenges is identifying these images so I can re-name them.
    I have been working with Apple's Aperture, which doesn't rely simply on the name to identify images since it uses a more complicated algorithm to differentiate images from each other.  It is one thing I really like about Aperture.  What I like about LR3 is that it lets me use actually file directories to store images rather than moving them into its own file system like Aperture does.  I don't like having files locked into a system that is software dependent.
    Also, I finally found the checkbox that tells LR to import "duplicates."  I couldn't find it before.  I don't find LR3 as intuitive as I'd like.  I've always had to spend more time figuring out how Adobe software does things than I would like. I've had little luck with Adobe's support site, aside from this forum.
    Thanks for you helpful suggestions.

  • Copying pictures w/ the same name to a cd

    How do I get pictures with the same assigned name.jpg onto a CD. These are different pictures downloaded at different but given the same name. I'm asked if I want to replace the picture with the same name.
    thanks,
    Steve

    Hi Steven,
    This is a pain in the butt when you want to do that. I went through the thing myself. My old camera always started from 1 each time I cleared the card, thus giving me many images with the same name once imported into iPhoto.
    What I had to do is share/export the images from a roll or album at a time. In the export window I chose to use the name of the album for the naming scheme. You will not run into a problem this way. Or you can make sure each has a different title, and use the title as the naming scheme.
    whatever you do, don't have it replace the picture with the same name.
