Hi,
I have installed oracle 11g database without the sample schemas. In the standard set of sample schemas we had an example Information Exachange schema (for queue), and a Sales Historyschema . Howver I am not getting the sample scripts for these two schemas in my demo directory.
Can you please let me know where can I get access to the scripts?
I have a requirement for a OLTP datastore which can receive high volume of data from an external system(Expecting max of 6gb data). I am planning create a separate schema , with dedicated tablespaces, Is it a good idea to have one datafile with a maxsize set to 6gb or to have a set of 3 starting at 1000m locally managed and a max size of 2gb each. There are not many indexes needed, however I need to set up an in queue and out queue as well. If I create this schema them do I need to revisit my redolog groups or temp table sizing as well to keep my existing database performance intact?
Is there any standard guidelines to follow for a schema where you expect large volume of data,has multiple queues?

Can these things be customized? [Very long]

Good day all!
First I would like to say thank you for everyone who consistently roams these forums to help new users! I have learned a lot by visiting discussions every other day at least for a long time!
I have been using Macs for a year now and still find navigation to be frustrating and counter-productive on several occasions.
Next I would like to say that if my questions annoy you or you think that I should search through all previous discussions for an answer to my problems, please don't respond. I would like to invite you to go help the next user with their problems. I've been computing for at least 15 years, so I know what to expect! And in my experience, that kind of post is akin to trolling. I know that there may be a multitude of responses about some of the things I would like help with. But the whole purpose for starting this discussion is to get help for me exactly where I am with several features, not to be sent on an easter egg hunt through the rest of the forum to piece everything together. I'm really very busy! And I will continue studying on my own every other day, as I have been for a long time.
On the flip side, I am not trying to be rude at all! I am sincerely asking for help and constructive suggestions/advice from a power user's perspective about how to adjust some things with my interface if possible! And I will be very very thankful if you can help!
I use Macs for business purpose and pleasure, so this is a professional concern and a personal quest!

Ok, so I have a list of features that I will admit come from having used Windows-based PCs for a very very long time, but they are much more efficient then what I have been able to do on OS X.

System: Macbook Pro, Order number MGXC2LL/A (Currently, the big one... Mid-2014)
Using OSX v10.9.5. I understand that Yosemite is available but I am concerned about updating because I am also using bootcamp with Windows 7 installed for personal, professional and educational use. I definitely make my machines work for me. (Starting another discussion about THAT concern though.)
So finally, my questions.
I have run into several interface annoyances and I would like to know about the following things. If anyone has any advice at all about how to customize these features, thank you in advance! (Note: I don't mind links to other posts at all! Please do so if you know a great discussion for exactly what I am experiencing.. If not, please just give whatever advice you can.)
Trackpad sensitivity: I've gone to System Preferences > Trackpad for adjustments but its just not helping as I had hoped.
Experiencing false touch due to heat sensitivity. Several times a day I will be programming or surfing and my cursor will jump to where the mouse indicator is on the screen if I get within an inch or two of the trackpad. If I am not watching then sometimes I will end up punching characters into a random line far away from where they're supposed to be. Then I have to go through the long process of deleting, moving, adjusting unexpected typos, making sure the code is still rendering and then typing everything all over again on the correct line. Anyway to adjust the calibration?
I'm used to pinpoint accuracy when navigating with my high dpi pc mouse, so this may be a difficult one to explain... I touch the trackpad and move my finger and it works, but it feels like sensitivity maxed out is variable depending on the speed that I move my finger. So if I quickly move a centimeter it launches halfway across the screen. If I slowly move it, it barely moves. The variation is incredibly annoying at times because I'm used to navigating rapidly. It I turn the sensitivity down then movement is terrible, if I turn it up, it seems to move more rapidly only when I move my finger quickly, which is also frustrating because I can't accurately go to the exact point I want to without moving slow regardless of sensitivity. Maybe this is also due to OSX's calibration method/"philosophy"? I have also used the wire mouse on my Mac (Desktop) and it seems to work the same way even though its a completely different input method. Any suggestions? Maybe I should just install a Razer on my laptop and let those drivers determine how it operates? (Thats what I use on my PC.)
Is there anyway to toggle the trackpad on and off? I have not checked into this yet beyond System Preferences > Trackpad, but it would be very helpful when programming or writing.
Interface issues: There are several organization/navigational features that I use heavily in Windows. The lack thereof makes it difficult to enjoy the OSX interface at times... Sure you can say "Oh, you'll get used to it," but the fact of the matter is getting used to a different interface should at least enable me to be as productive as I would be on a Windows computer. I don't think getting used to these particulars would accomplish that.
Please advise me about how to customize a faster way to access media files! (I suppose I could create shortcuts in different directories, but... Ugh!) Is there an easier method or some way to rearrange the way that directories are organized in general so that I don't have to click desktop > click go > click home just to find my media files? Is there a way to make them accessible from the Finder Sidebar when navigating other directories? I need full access to commonly used directories if possible! Not just a certain level of my computer system without clicking "Go."
Is there an easy way to launch a directory in a second Finder window? Absolutely hate when I click a directory and it opens in the same window. Especially considering that you have to actually drag items to a different directory to move them without shortcut keys. Extra steps are not cool. (Like dragging a folder to your desktop so you can open a new directory to drag it to in the same Finder window. Very redundant and counter-productive.)
Anyway to manually add a cut/paste-like function to the right-click menu? Would solve a lot of my organization challenges. (Not afraid of tweaking system files or downloading scripts/programs to accomplish this.)
These are the things that have contributed to productivity challenges the most for me. Not really a lot, but still frustrating.

Yes. With any sidebar open, have the parent folder of the folder you want on the sidebar open. Now just drag and drop the folder you want on the sidebar under the Favorites heading, and above Devices. Make sure one of the other favorites already listed isn't highlighted as you let go of the mouse, or the OS will presume you want to copy the folder there. A new shortcut with that folder name should be added to the list. To remove any favorite, drag it off the sidebar over the desktop, wait a moment and let go.

That one is a huge bone of contention. Apple changed that behavior beginning with Mavericks so you can't do that if the sidebar or toolbar is showing. At least not the way it used to work before 10.9.x. To force a nested folder to open in its own window, hold down the Option key as you double click the folder. Hiding the toolbar and sidebar so all you see are the files eliminates the need to hold the Option key. Yes, there's no consistency of interface behavior on that one.
Hi Kurt! Thank you very much for those suggestions. I've actually been playing with the sidebar customizations and can attest that navigation has been a lot easier! This suggestion from Diane and from you has been incredibly helpful. As per the second Finder window, I guess I can only keep searching for a solution. I'm sure there is a way to regain the ability to access more than one Finder window at once. I can see the benefit of limiting it to only one window but I also know from experience that having it is counter-productive in most scenarios. I will have to try opening files and folders in their own windows with the option button to see if it will get me back to the productivity levels I'm used to.

I actually wanted to post a resolution of my own. Particularly the sensitivity/acceleration issue and the cut/paste issue. I was able to solve them both by adding a peripheral to my arsenal. The Razer Orochi wireless mouse. There are a couple of reasons why this has been an incredibly helpful move. The first is I have been using Razer peripherals for years. I love the control that Synapse software allows (That is, the utility that comes with Razer mice). I am able to adjust acceleration (Essentially how much farther the mouse moves with aggressive finger movements compared to normal movements) and I am able to adjust overall sensitivity beyond anything the trackpad is capable of because dpi and more thorough software. Don't get me wrong! I'm not trying to advertise here, it's been like night and day since I installed it.
I also mentioned cut and paste. The Orochi has a mouse wheel with a built-in button, 4 side buttons and the common left/right click buttons for a total of 7 possible mouse-click functions. So how I was able to correct the cut/paste issue was by binding Command-Option-V to one oft the side buttons. So essentially I can now Right Click, choose "Copy" and simply click the side button to move the folder/file/etc to the new directory. Productivity already increasing to levels I once had!

Granted this is not a control-level resolution, (Which would be highly preferable), but it has made a big difference so far. I definitely wouldn't consider this to be an interface preference but rather a productivity preference. However you look at it, I'm happier and can navigate/operate more effectively than I have been able to in a long time.
I think for all intents and purposes I can mark this thread as solved even though there are a couple of things that fall into this category by default simply because Macs are not capable of doing certain things as far as I can tell...
Unable to be resolved (By 98% of users) due to fundamental(?) design limitations:
Allow for heat sensitivity adjustments on the trackpad
Clickable cut/paste functionality built into OSX
Second (or multiple) Finder Window(s)
I think at this point I need to start researching deeper fixes for these problems and maybe post something later about it.
If anyone has more advice about them or any other features mentioned here, please post!

Running Permission Scripts for App-V packages in VDI environment

We use App-V 5.0 SP1 in VDI environment.
We have a major problem with packages' permissions
Our users don't have administrative privileges on their machines.
As the option for "Security Descriptors" is discontinued, the only way to give permissions to a folder in a package is to use the VFSCACLS.vbs as a startup script of a package.
This way the first time users launch an application they're prompt to reopen it, and the second time they can use the application with the needed permissions.
The problem:
The script saves those permission changes under LOCALAPPDATA\AppV...
Therefore, everytime the users logoff the folder is deleted (VDI...) and again, they must run the script for the first again to get the permissions back after logon!
We cannot roam the LOCALAPPDATA\AppV folder as its size can be dozens of GBs...
Folder permissions with group policy is also not a solution, as the folder name changes everytime we upgrade a package and it's impossible to follow with hundreds of packages.
So it's either we're missing something critical in the architecture with VDI environment or there's a normal solution for these situations.

that's what I did! the problem is that I find my self over and over again want to sequence packages in App-V 5.0 and forced to sequence it in App-V 4.6.
I really hope that it wasn't App-V team's goal. announcing App-V 5.0 and tell us it doesn't support many things so we will still need App-V 4.6 forever.
I have to maintain 2 different App-V environments with 4 different servers , 4 different sequencers and 2 clients on each computer. it doesn't make any sense for me to forced to stay with both of the versions forever.
correct me if I'm wrong but App-V 4.6 is a legacy application. the new versions cover only support on newer operating systems and nothing more. I won't be surprised if in the next version of MDOP won't come with App-V 4.6 anymore and Microsoft will announced
it's unsupported very soon.
Every time I open a ticket with MS Support the best thing I get is "It's a known issue, we can't tell when it will be fixed"
can you help me more ? move it forward to other people from the inside? at least agree with me that something is not as expected in App-V 5.0... :(

Script for folder or file that always has a name that is the CURRENT DATE

hi all,
i tried to get this done a couple times and i either misunderstood how to use the script or there was some complication so i am returning to it. i would like to have a FILE or a FOLDER on my desktop that has a name which is TODAYS DATE.
the reason i need this:
i am using carbon copy cloner and when i plug in an external hard drive it runs a backup. i would like to make sure that the backup is /current/ and right now short of looking for a file that is new on my hard drive and then finding the same file on the backup i am not sure how to do this. i suppose there may be a way to do it in CCC but i would prefer something right in the backup. i need this for Lion and Mountain Lion.
any ideas?

it comes as a combination of date and time;
it's locale specific;
it's a string.

ALUI Gateway Not Returning Scripts for Subset of Users

We have a problem where the ALUI gateway is not returning some .NET scripts for a subset of users. We have the ALUI 6.5 portal and our using the .NET accelerator 3.1.
The situation is that this subset of users request one of our portal pages via https, which then reaches through our firewall to our remote server which is running the .NET portlet. The .NET page is served and returned to the users correctly and quickly, but this particular subset of users do not see the result rendered in their browsers for about 3 minutes. A view html source in the browser, as well as tools like Fiddler, show the page is indeed in the browser, but it is stuck trying to request some .NET scripts, and only displays the page when those requests timeout.
The .NET scripts that are problems are both WebResource.axd and ScriptResource.axd, which in some cases are in our .NET portlets because of the .NET framework itself, but in other cases they are there only because of the ALUI portal itself, when it munges the .NET portlet to handle multiple server forms and validators and such. These .axd scripts are gatewayed so that the client browser requests them through the ALUI gateway, which in turn requests them through our firewall to our remote server -- which always serves these scripts correctly and quickly according to the IIS logs. The problem seems to lie in the ALUI gateway, as it is receiving these scripts correctly and quickly, but it is not returning them to this subset of users. Instead the ALUI gateway seems to be processing for about 3 minutes, and eventually returns an html error page, which of course the client never sees since it is expecting javascript, but we can capture the error page via Fiddler and its just telling us there was a timeout -- the client browser just notes that there is a javascript error.
The really bizarre part is that this only happens for a subset of users, which amounts to about 20% of our users. There are 2 things that delineate these users that we have found so far. First, these users have email addresses that are 27 - 30 characters long, and the email address is our login id. Note that both shorter and longer email addresses are OK, so there is not some limit to email addresses like this might sound like at first. Secondly, these users have to be in a particular branch of our ldap store, which means they are replicated across to the portal in a particular group. We can move these "bad" users into another branch of our ldap store and once they are replicated to the portal then they work fine, and then if we move them back they return to not working. We cannot find any other difference in our ldap branches or in the corresponding ALUI groups, plus its only the ones in that particular branch with the email lengths in that very specific range.
The gatewayed requests for these scripts vary by user since the PTARGS in the gatewayed request include the integer userid, but that does not seem to matter because we can have a "good" user successfully request the script with a "bad" user's id, and we can have a "bad" user fail to successfully request the script with a "good" user's id. That seems to point to maybe the authentication cookie being the differentiating factor that determines whether or not a gatewayed request for one of these script files will succeed or fail. So far we have only seen the problem with these particular .net axd scripts, but that may simply be because we don't have many, if any, other scripts or resources that need to be gatewayed since we usually put resources on our imageserver -- these being different because .NET and/or the ALUI portal puts these references in there for us whether we like it or not. Long-term we can re-architect our .NET portlets to not get have these axd scripts, although as mentioned earlier, we also see the ALUI portal put these axd scripts in our portlets as part of their munging process -- so that is not in our control completely. We do need to test if this subset of users can successfully request other gatewayed resources or not -- this is actually the first time I thought of that test case, so all I can say right now is its axd scripts that we know are problems, but it may or may not be a bigger problem.
One last comment, as we appear to have found a work-around, but it does not make sense at all, and its not our preferred solution, so we still very much believe there is a problem elsewhere -- most likely in the ALUI gateway, but possibly somehow related to authentication that we do not understand. Our work-around that so far seems to work is to make our remote server be accessed via https instead of http -- which matches the way the client browsers call our portal (https). Again that first doesn't make sense, since this is only a problem for a small subset of users -- obviously calling our remote server via http works successfully for all other users, so its not just is a simple case that we must match protocols or it won't work. We also use http successfully for our calls to the remote server for portlets that are Java, although its possible that they don't have any gatewayed resources. But we also would just prefer to not use https for our internal calls in our own network as there is no need for the extra overhead -- and by the way our dev and qa environments do use http even for these .NET portlets and do not have the same problem. What's different in our production environment? The only things that should be different are that we have multiple portal servers and multiple remote servers that are load balanced (not sure that's the right term for how the remote servers are combined) -- and of course we have a firewall between them that does not exist in dev or qa.
So we would very much appreciate any thoughts on this, whether you've seen something like it before, or just have some additional insight into the gateway and/or authentication process that seems to be the issue.

We've ran into this problem when using the Microsoft ReportViewer control. In our case, we found that the portal gateway malformed the urls containing webresource.axd, so the browser was unable to get the correct address to the files. Note that there are usually multiple links to the axd files, they return different resources depending on the query string they get.
To solve the problem, we ended up with a bit of a hack solution, but it works well. We extracted the resources we needed from the ReportViewer control's assembly using Reflector, and then published them on the image server. The next piece was to override the Render method of the page that hosted the control. In our custom version of Render, we parsed the html of the page, and replaced the contents of the src= elements with pt:images// links. These processed just fine in the portal's transformer, and our resources started showing up.
Our Render looks something like the following code sample. The "HACKReportViewerControlPortalImageGatewayFix" class has all of the code to do the parsing. In this case, it is specific to the report viewer, because it has some special considerations for parsing the urls. My bet if that your code will be quite custom as well. Therefore, I've not included this piece of code. The important piece below is the invocation of MyBase.Render, which tells the page to render all of it's contents. Once that method is done, all of the HTML for the page is in the writer. The ModifyImageTags method then parses the html, doing the necessary replacements. Finally, the modified html is written to the page's writer, so it can be output following the normal .net processes. Also note that when parsing for urls to replace, don't do all of them, just look for the ones containing axd.

This works great for images. However, if you are dealing with javascripts, I'm not sure if this will work for you - as some .NET controls send different scripts depending on the browser. For example, in IE, you get more buttons on the toolbar for the ReportViewer, so you get more javascript too. When using FF, you get less buttons, and less script. We didn't have a problem with the scripts, so we haven't needed to solve this one.
As for timing, this type of solution doesn't take much to put together. You are really just doing some string parsing and replacements. If you are a regex ninja, it's probably even easier. We had our solution working in a day or two.
An added benefit to this solution is that you are putting less bytes through the portal's gateway, and sending that traffic to the image server instead.

Difference with SMARTFORMS and SapScript
The Following are the differences :-
a) Multiple page formats are possible in smartforms which is not the case in SAPScripts
b) It is possible to have a smartform without a main window .
c) Labels cannot be created in smartforms.
d) Routines can be written in smartforms tool.
e) Smartforms generates a function module when activated.

Scripts for albums designer

Hello.
I am a wedding albums designer and i can't work in photoshop unfortunately without same options.
A. I need a short cut in Bridge for option file>place>place in photoshop.
It's puts photos to the template document directly and make it smart obgect.
B. marking the used photos from bridge to photoshop - for example ctrt
+6 mark with red color.
C. less important, hold by default proportion of image - ctrt+T without shift.
For this things I need some script and changes in bridge and
photoshop, and i ask if you have it or can do it, or have another
solusion for this purpose?
It will be very useful and allow to me and many ather designers work
qukly in photoshop.
I really saffer without these options in Bridge and Photoshop.

Reverse printing a window (Mirror image) in smartforms/scripts

Hi,
Is it posible to do a reverse print of a particular window(Mirror Image) in smartform/script output?
Scenario:
I have 3 windows in the smartforms.
Window1
Window2
Window3
I want to print Window1 & Window3 normally & Window2 upside down like a mirror image.

Hi friend,
One suggestion if you are printing your company logo or some thing like that in the window2 then you can invert the image using paint and then again upload it.
Else if its some sort of text like that then you can rotate it using some functions like '^FWR' like that there are functions to rotate the text.
Or else you can handle this using or setting the printer settings but i think its not possible to change the settings for only one page.
